The University of Lyon was founded in 1896 and belongs to the "European Ivy" (Coimbra Group) member. There are 11 branches, of which the second branch is also called the University of Lumière. The name is in memory of the film inventor Lumière brothers. The campus is located on the banks of the Rhone River in the city center. On the first day of school, students of all colors travel between buildings to find their teachers and classrooms.
