Shanxi...Wutai Mountain...Xiantong Temple, also known as Daxiantong Temple, Daqi Lingqi Temple, Garden Temple, Dahuayan Temple, Dajixiang Xiantong Temple, Dahuguo Shengguang Yongming Temple, Yongming Temple, is located on the north side of Taihuai Town, Wutaishan Central District, Shanxi. Xiantong Temple is the first temple in Wutai Mountain, founded in the Yongping years of the Emperor of the Han Dynasty, the first name of Daqi Lingqi Temple, Qing Kangxi 26 years (1687 AD), renamed Daxiantong Temple, it is one of the earliest Buddhist temples in China. The existing buildings of Xiantong Temple are the scale of the Qing Dynasty, and the temple covers an area of about 80,000 square meters, and more than 400 buildings of various kinds, and most of them are buildings in the Ming and Qing periods. The hall and the room layout are strict, the central axis is clearly divided, and the hall is symmetrical. The central axis is arranged with 7 temples such as the land and water hall, the Great Wenshu Temple, the Great Xiongbao Temple, the Infinity Temple, the Millennium Wenshu Temple, the bronze hall and the back high hall. The bronze temple was cast in the Ming Wanli 38 years (1610 AD), sharing 100,000 pounds of copper, one of the best preserved bronze temples in China. In 1982, the State Council listed Xiantong Temple as a key cultural relics protection unit in the country.
