Zigong Lantern Park was built in 1931 and the name of the park has been changed. When the park was completed, it was named "Cenxi Park". In 1939, Xie Qi (Zigong) who was a former member of the Standing Committee of the Kuomintang Central Committee, then a member of the Central Supervision Committee and a member of the State Government died, and Chiang Kai-shek's Kuomintang government clearly organized a state funeral for him. In 1941, the Zigong Municipal Government renamed the park to "Huisheng Park". After the peaceful liberation of Zigong, the Zigong Municipal People's Government renamed the park to "Zigong People's Park" in 1950. In 1988, with the increasing popularity of Zigong Lantern Festival, the park was renamed "Zigong Lantern Park" after the approval of the Zigong Municipal Committee and the Zigong Municipal People's Government, and was managed by the Zigong Lantern Trade Management Committee.
