"This hotel is located opposite Grand Lisboa. Downstairs, there's a cinema, a supermarket, and several restaurants. The room is really spacious, especially compared to Hong Kong hotels. The environment is great, and the facilities are very new. It's only a five-minute walk to the bus terminal, and a short taxi ride to the ferry terminal. I think this hotel offers better value for money than choosing The Venetian Macao."

"Knowing this hotel was a bit far from the main attractions, we planned to spend most of our time relaxing at the hotel. We initially wanted to go for a swim right after checking in, but at 3 PM check-in, we were informed that it would take another two hours to clean the room. The front desk gave us our room cards and an extended 1-hour late check-out. During this time, we explored the hotel's mall; there's a Yata supermarket on the second floor that helped us pass the time. The pool area includes an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, and a jacuzzi, which I thought was great. We had dinner at one of the hotel's restaurants. The food quality was decent, but the service was poor. Dishes were served very slowly; one guest waited an hour for their food, and the staff didn't apologize or actively follow up. The room was spacious and, apart from some stains in the shower area, was very clean overall. Our room offered a garden view. The mini-bar drinks in the room were complimentary. Breakfast at 'The Buffet' offered a wide variety of choices, and the food quality was above average. Overall, I was very satisfied."

"The hotel is located near Fisherman's Wharf, right opposite Sands Macao. If you're like me and prefer to stay on the Macau Peninsula side, this location is quite convenient. It's about two or three stops from the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal, and very close to the sea, making for a pleasant stroll after dinner with a nice sea breeze. The hotel's overall design is European classical, with a touch of vintage palace-like decor. The high ceilings make the rooms feel more grand and spacious. Although you can tell the hotel has been open for some years, and the facilities aren't brand new, they are well-maintained with no obvious signs of age. The room size was a pleasant surprise this time; it's quite spacious for Macau, with plenty of room between the two beds and ample space to open suitcases. The bathroom features a separate wet and dry area, and overall cleanliness was good. The window area gets a lot of natural light, making for a comfortable stay. When the room was cleaned on the second day, the staff even folded the clothes I'd left out and neatly placed them on the bed, a thoughtful detail. The check-out process was smooth, with a convenient express check-out option. The luggage storage service was also very helpful for tourists who want to explore Macau further before leaving. Overall, while the hotel's facilities aren't the newest, it excels in spacious rooms, a convenient location, and attentive service, while also offering views of both the Macau Peninsula and the sea. Given that hotels in Macau are generally not inexpensive, I believe the overall value for money here is quite good."

"The room was quite spacious, clean, and tidy. They even offered a complimentary breakfast for one (fried noodles, mushroom and chicken congee, and pickled vegetables), which was delicious. The hotel's location is excellent, and getting around by bus is super convenient (it seems like Macau has mostly circular routes, so you can catch a bus from any stop). We also tried the restaurant next door, Yang Zhi Jin Lao, and the food was good. The hotel's weekend rates are double the weekday prices, but we had no choice since we were in town for a concert."

"Came to Macau and stayed at the Yoho Roosevelt this time. The location is a bit out of the way; **taxis are scarce, and you have to transfer twice. It's not ideal if you have luggage, but since we didn't, it wasn't an issue for us.** **Environment & Amenities** ✅ Because it's remote, it's very quiet, and the hotel is new. ✅ Offers sea views and stadium views. Waking up to an unobstructed 180-degree view in the morning is incredibly comfortable. ✅ The TV can swivel, making it convenient to watch from the bed or living room. It has TVB and Phoenix TV, which was enjoyable. ⭕️ If you have luggage, transportation isn't very friendly; **taxis are few and you need to transfer.** **Design & Service** ✅ At 400 MOP, the value for money is really high. ⭕️ The room layout is quite strange... there's a long corridor with a small table, which is fine for working but otherwise unnecessary. ⭕️ The bathroom is even weirder; the bathtub is inside the shower area, first time I've seen that! It's okay for bathing (comes with a disposable tub liner), but showering is really inconvenient. **Summary:** Suitable for those without luggage, who seek quiet views, and aren't particular about room layout. For 400 MOP in Macau, what more could you ask for? A pure sea-view room would probably be even more comfortable."

"First time staying at this hotel, and it was quite comfortable. It's conveniently located whether you're heading further into Taipa (it's actually right at the border between Taipa and the Peninsula, just across a bridge) or exploring the Macau Peninsula. On arrival day, it's better to take a public bus to the hotel rather than the hotel shuttle, as missing one means waiting almost an hour. Also, on check-out day, you can get a free shuttle to the Border Gate by showing your room key card holder, according to their schedule. The hotel's room service food was also good and tasty."

"Where Every Detail Felt Like Home. From the moment I stepped into Artyzen Grand Lapa, I felt a warm and inviting atmosphere. At check-in, I was greeted with the words, “We have been waiting for you,” which immediately made me feel special. Soon after, a beautiful bouquet of flowers with birthday wishes appeared—sent by my loved ones through the hotel, which was a wonderful surprise. The hotel kindly upgraded my room and offered a late check-out, and I also received a welcome fruit platter. The following day, the staff delivered the most delicious blueberry cheesecake, which was such a thoughtful gesture. The service throughout my stay was immaculate. I would especially like to thank Edgar and Maree for their assistance with booking my birthday dinner and helping me plan my sightseeing schedule. The room was lovely, with an exceptionally comfortable bed—I especially enjoyed the pillow menu. Coffee was great, everything worked perfectly, and I loved the strong shower and high-quality bathroom amenities. Breakfast was outstanding, with a wide variety of delicious options. The spa and swimming pool facilities were also amazing. Overall, the staff were consistently friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Thank you for creating such a memorable and wonderful birthday experience for me."

"Right next to the old town, it's less than a 15-minute walk to the Ruins of St. Paul's. The old town is literally just a stone's throw away, with plenty of dining options. The staff are all very professional. The young man who helps guests hail taxis at the entrance, despite not speaking much Chinese, was excellent. It was hard to get a cab during the holidays, so he'd be genuinely happy whenever he managed to flag one down. He'd even proactively ask taxi drivers dropping off guests if they could take new passengers, which was incredibly thoughtful!"

"Facilities: The hotel is well-equipped with all the necessary disposable amenities. I just wasn't used to having the shower inside the bathtub. Cleanliness: It was quite clean and tidy. Environment: Located in Taipa, it's very close to Rua do Cunha and the new city area. You can take a bus or taxi (around 60-70 MOP) to the Macau Peninsula. Service: The service was excellent."

About Macau

Macau is a Special Administrative Region of China on the southeastern coast of Guangdong, tucked into the Pearl River Delta, a short distance from Hong Kong. Nicknamed the "Las Vegas of Asia," the city blends Portuguese colonial heritage with Chinese culture across four distinct zones: the Macau Peninsula, Taipa, the integrated resort hub of Cotai, and the quiet village of Coloane.

Senado Square anchors the historic heart with its wave-patterned mosaic paving and UNESCO-listed colonial facades, while the Ruins of St. Paul's, the stone façade of a 16th-century church, remain Macau's most recognized landmark. The 338-meter Macau Tower holds the Guinness World Record for the highest commercial bungee jump at 233 meters, and the A-Ma Temple, dedicated to the sea goddess Mazu, is the oldest temple in the city.

When to Book Macau Hotels

  • Macau's peak tourist season runs October to December, when mild, dry weather draws the biggest crowds and highest hotel demand across the Cotai Strip and Peninsula.
  • Macau's low season is June to September: hot, humid, and rainy with typhoon risk. July is the hottest month, reaching up to 33°C (91°F).
  • January to February in Macau is cool and dry, good for walking the city's historic lanes but chilly at night. March to May brings warmth with rising humidity and more frequent rain.
  • Macau's casinos operate year-round, but the October to December high season packs the largest crowds into Cotai and Peninsula resorts, tightening hotel availability.
  • Trip.com's "Hong Kong & Macau City Escape Sale" offers up to 50% off curated hotels, with promo codes US$40 off (minimum US$400 spend) and US$20 off (minimum US$200 spend), valid June 1-28, 2026.
  • Trip.com offers 8% off and an uncapped 5% off Hong Kong and Macau airport transfers during the same City Escape Sale (June 1-28, 2026).
  • The best off-peak windows for Macau hotel deals on Trip.com: mid-January to February (20-35% off), mid-April and June (15-30% off), October to November (20-40% off).
  • Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday tend to have lower hotel booking prices on Trip.com for Macau; Friday evenings, Sunday nights, and Monday mornings see demand-driven price peaks.

Macau Travel Essentials

Transport

  • The Macau Peninsula is compact and walkable for most sights; buses or taxis are needed for Macau Tower, A-Ma Temple, Guia Hill, and the islands of Coloane and Taipa.
  • Two bus operators cover Macau: state-owned Transmac and Transportes Colectivos de Macau (TCM), running frequent buses across three bridges to Taipa, Coloane, and Cotai. Use a MACAUpass or carry exact fare.
  • Taxis in Macau are plentiful, safe, and metered; both yellow and black taxis can be flagged down throughout the city.

Food

  • Portuguese egg tarts (pastel de nata) are Macau's most iconic food. Lord Stow's Bakery in Coloane Village reportedly serves up to 13,000 daily, with flaky pastry and caramelized egg custard.
  • Pork chop buns are Macau's classic street food: a marinated fried pork chop in a crispy baguette. Most street food in Macau costs under MOP 40 (~$5.00).
  • Minchi, Macau's national dish, is minced beef or pork fried with onion, garlic, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce, served over rice with a fried egg and diced fried potato.

Entry

  • US citizens do not need a tourist visa for Macau stays under 30 days; passports must be valid at least 90 days beyond the intended stay with one blank page.
  • Macau offers visa-free entry to nationals from over 50 countries: US, Canada, Australia, Japan, Singapore (30 days); most EU countries, UK, South Korea (90 days).
  • Visa on arrival is available at Macau Immigration for many nationalities: Individual MOP 100 (~$12.39), Family MOP 400 (~$49.56), children under 12 MOP 50 (~$6.20). Entry requires proof of onward travel and sufficient funds.

Weather

  • Best weather in Macau is October to December: mild, dry, and comfortable, making this the peak tourist season.
  • June to September is hot, humid, and rainy with typhoon risk; July is the hottest month reaching 33°C (91°F). Avoid this period for outdoor sightseeing in Macau.
  • January to February is cool and dry in Macau, good for walking tours but chilly at night. March to May is warm with increasing humidity and rain.

※ Prices and policies vary by season and are subject to change. Confirm with official sources before booking.

XxfmhThe room was spacious, and the amenities were complete and brand new. Since I was here for my daughter's graduation, the hotel even specially prepared a graduation bouquet and a cake. The most pleasant surprise was the customized room cards, engraved with the university's logo – a truly delightful and memorable touch. I'd like to extend a special thanks to Angela from the reservations department, who meticulously inquired about our room preferences and travel arrangements before our arrival; her service was incredibly thoughtful. Overall, the staff at the front desk, room service, and housekeeping were all very enthusiastic and attentive. It was an extraordinary experience!

AAimaopaode QQOur stay was incredibly satisfying, with exceptional and proactive personalized service! Before check-in, they even provided beautiful drawing toys for my child. The front desk staff also kindly upgraded us to a pool view room and thoughtfully set up a tent for the little one. Every night, the turndown service was full of pleasant surprises, including delicious local cookies. We had some trouble with the TV casting, and the hotel's housekeeping staff helped us multiple times. One of the managers even noticed my child and kindly gave them a small doll, which made my kid incredibly happy! They also paid special attention to potential bumps and proactively placed protective corners on every piece of furniture in the room – a huge plus! Many luxury five-star hotels don't go this extra mile. During every encounter with the concierge service, staff members would proactively ask if we needed help with a taxi or if we needed reservations for restaurants. Upon check-out, another detail left a lasting impression: the staff member proactively mentioned that we could continue to use the hotel's swimming pool and children's play area even after checking out. This truly showed their thoughtfulness and sincerity. The newly renovated room was excellent, and the bedding was incredibly comfortable, clean, and hygienic. Having stayed at many luxury hotels, I feel it's truly rare to find a hotel where every department consistently delivers such an outstanding service experience!

AAnonymous UserFacilities: Very complete, with a microwave and oven, which was super convenient for heating up food I bought outside! Environment: The terrace is beautiful! They also have fans up there so it's not too hot. The sea view and the Macau Tower view are excellent. Cleanliness: The room was generally clean, though there was a bit of dust on the hinge connection of my bedside lamp 🤣. But I understand, it's not a very noticeable spot after all. 😂 Service: I realized I lost my necklace when I checked out. It might have been in the elevator or the room. A few hours later, I was contacted via WeChat to say they found it! Anyway, thank you to the staff who helped me search – the front desk lady and the housekeeping staff. I had already given up hope 😿, but they found it for me. I'm really happy, such warm and caring service!! Hope to see you again.

GGuest UserFantastic experience! The L'Occitane toiletries were a lovely touch and great value for money. The room service staff were also very friendly, and the front desk actively helped with luggage. The only minor downside was that the hotel facilities were a bit old, especially the hairdryer which was very, very dirty and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. There was also a lot of limescale in the corners around the bathroom.

AAnonymous UserThe room was great, exceptionally clean and hygienic. The front desk lady was very nice, providing excellent and enthusiastic service. The space was large and very comfortable to sleep in. Plus, it had a window for ventilation, which is great for air quality, as many hotels in Macau don't have windows. Late check-out was also a plus. There's a restaurant downstairs and even a massage place. It was absolutely fantastic! 👍👍👍

Jjwmisc## Location: Absolutely a fantastic 5-star location! The hotel is directly opposite Sands, and Fisherman's Wharf is right next to Sands. March is the off-peak season in Macau, so there's no direct bus from Hengqin Port to Sands. You need to transfer at The Venetian, but it's still quite convenient. From Sands to the hotel, you have to cross a pedestrian bridge, but there's a 24-hour elevator. Once you exit the elevator, it's not a long walk in either direction, which is very helpful for travelers with luggage. ## Surroundings: To the right of the hotel, there's a small alley that leads directly to Macao Polytechnic University, less than 100 meters away, making it super convenient for students taking exams there. A 5-minute walk to the left will take you to the Lotus Square, and you can also see the Golden Lotus from the pathway behind the hotel. If you head right out of the hotel and walk straight down the main road for 15-20 minutes, you can reach the Grand Lisboa and Macau Tower. There are plenty of dining options nearby, probably due to its proximity to the university, with choices for all budgets. ## Facilities: The hotel reception is on the second floor. The interior facilities are complete, and the bedding and amenities are good. The room also has a refrigerator. The room isn't huge but doesn't feel cramped. ## Hygiene: The room was cleaned very well and felt comfortable. However, the windows are sealed, so upon first entering, there was a slight musty smell due to lack of ventilation. Thankfully, it dissipated after turning on the air conditioning and ventilation system. ## Environment: The hallway soundproofing isn't great; you can hear people walking and talking outside the room. Traffic noise from the street outside also comes through at night. However, this seems to be a common issue with hotels and can't be avoided. ## Service: The front desk staff are busy but very responsible, and they can switch between Mandarin and Cantonese freely for guests. A deposit is required for check-in, and Alipay is accepted.

SShixiazhiya⭐⭐⭐⭐ The location is unbeatable, but the breakfast seriously needs improvement. Staying at the Victoria Hotel Macau this time, the location really couldn't be better. It's right in the city center, making it super convenient to get to the Ruins of St. Paul's and all the major casinos. There's a bus stop right downstairs, so getting around is hassle-free. The room is typically 'Macanese' – not huge, but spotlessly clean and tidy. The bedding is comfortable, and the soundproofing is decent, making it perfectly adequate for a layover. However, I really have to complain about the breakfast; the experience was quite poor. The restaurant seating was very cramped, and when it got busy, it felt chaotic. The food selection was very limited, and the hot dishes basically never changed. The taste was also quite ordinary, even a bit perfunctory, definitely inferior to hotels in the same price range. Overall, the stay itself was comfortable, but definitely don't have high expectations for breakfast. If your booking doesn't include breakfast, I recommend heading to a nearby tea restaurant instead; the food there will be much better! 🥲

YYingyuanxiaoquHoliday Inn Macau is super convenient to get to. The hotel itself is great – very clean and tidy, and the rooms are spacious. PPulishendinachuangwuerThis hotel offers great value for money. It's very close to Galaxy Macau, just across the road. The view from the window is also lovely. Getting a taxi right outside the hotel is super quick, and the metro is also nearby. For food, there's a good restaurant called Macao Restaurant just a few hundred meters away; their pork chop bun is especially delicious and it's very affordable. From the restaurant, Taipa Village (Rua do Cunha) is also very close, perfect for a stroll.
