The location was absolutely brilliant – everything was right on the doorstep, with coffee shops like Starbucks and Chagee or McDonald’s less than a five-minute wal away. The staff was wonderfully kind and helpful, they helped me to order food online and bringing them straight to my room. They had translation devices which made the communication easier than expected.

The Youli is by far the best hotel I stayed in over my 30 days in China. The staff were so welcoming and kind. It was my birthday the day I checked in and when I got back to my room the staff had left my a beautiful little birthday cake and gift, I was overwhelmed with joy. The staff were helpful with all enquiries and politely greeting me every time I went in or out. The room was exceptionally clean and well serviced. The bedding was comfortable and very clean. The location is fantastic with easy access to all of the sights. Overall my best hotel experience this trip. Highly recommend and I would absolutely stay again if I’m in Shanghai. High praise for the fantastic Youli team!!!!

An absolutely wonderful stay! I spent three nights at Radisson Collection Hyland Shanghai, and it was truly one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Everything was excellent — the cleanliness, the location, the service, and the overall atmosphere. The staff were very kind, professional, and welcoming, which made my stay even more enjoyable.
I would like to sincerely thank the entire team for their excellent hospitality. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Shanghai, and I would definitely come back again. Thank you for making my stay so memorable! ❤️

This hotel is really, really good! The location and service are both top-notch! I hesitated a lot because it was a bit pricier than I expected (it was National Day, so there was a premium), but it was truly the best choice I made!
First, the accommodation! It was clean and the view was amazing. I arrived early for check-in and asked if they could give me a room with a good view. They found me the best view room comparable to the one I paid for 😆
Next, the location! Nanjing East Road and People's Square are right in front, which was great for tours (many meeting points are at People's Square) and shopping. Plus, many famous restaurants (hot mala ban on social media, Lu Xuxu butter cakes, crab roe and shrimp dumplings, milk tea, etc.) delivered, and a robot brought the food to my door, allowing me to try a variety of dishes. It saved so much time, it was amazing!
The staff's service was also excellent. They helped with my luggage and were incredibly kind. Thank you! Oliver and Riley are the best! I'll definitely come again.

The room was clean and tidy, with a wet/dry separation in the bathroom. We paid extra to upgrade the room, and it was quiet and peaceful at night. The front desk staff were warm and attentive. The hotel is very close to Changzheng Hospital, Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, and other attractions, all within a few minutes' walk. Since I had an empty stomach for a medical check-up in the morning, the cafeteria offered breakfast to go. For such a prime location, the value for money is excellent! I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Shanghai.

Had a lovely three-night stay! The staff were so welcoming, and the location is convenient being right by the metro and walking distance to popular streets. The room was cozy, though the lighting was a bit dim and it’s showing some age. The staff were helpful, but could use a bit more training with local tips. Overall, a solid choice for a budget-friendly trip!

The hotel's location is excellent, right on the pedestrian street, so you can go shopping and dining as soon as you step out. I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time I'm in Shanghai. The hotel service was also great; they enthusiastically upgraded my room, and I could even see the 'Three-Piece Suit' (Lujiazui skyline) from there, which was really nice.

Living in a Century of History, Encountering Shanghai's Old Soul | Yangtze Hotel Shanghai Stay Experience
Stepping onto the bustling Hankou Road, a creamy white building with a rich Art Deco flair comes into view – this is the Yangtze Hotel, a repository of Shanghai's century-old memories. From the moment you push open the revolving doors, you embark on a journey through time.
The hotel's exterior boasts a distinctive look, with staggered balconies adorned with fresh blue hydrangeas. The soft, creamy white walls, paired with vintage geometric carvings, make it a quiet and elegant presence amidst the city's bustling traffic. Looking up, a red-brick Gothic church tower stands nearby, new and old architecture echoing each other. On one side, the clamor of a modern metropolis; on the other, the charm of old Shanghai, steeped in a hundred years of history – the atmosphere is absolutely captivating.
Stepping into the lobby, the street noise instantly fades away. Retro patterned marble floors stretch forward, while the high, vaulted stained-glass ceiling casts a dazzling light. Sunlight filters through, creating shifting patterns and an overwhelming sense of history. In the center of the hall stands an elegant black grand piano, poised as if ready to play the enchanting melodies of old Shanghai. Colonnades, vintage chandeliers, exquisite floral arrangements – the recent renovation hasn't erased the building's original historical essence but has instead perfectly blended modern comfort with old-world elegance. Every detail is worth a moment's appreciation.
The guest rooms continue the serene and elegant style. Dark brown wooden doorframes and a headboard featuring red and gold vintage patterns are complemented by a soft, sophisticated carpet. There are no overly flamboyant decorations; it's understated yet luxurious. The bed is soft and comfortable, the room is bright and airy, offering a tranquil escape from the bustling city. At night, closing the windows effectively blocks out street noise, ensuring a peaceful sleep. The bathroom is spacious, with marble countertops, a retro carved mirror, and even a bathtub. After a long day, a hot bath washes away travel fatigue. The amenities truly live up to the standard of a well-established luxury hotel.
The geographical location is undoubtedly the hotel's strongest asset. Situated in the city center, Huangpu District, it's within walking distance of key attractions like People's Square, The Bund, and Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street. Stepping out, you're right in the vibrant streets of Shanghai, making transportation incredibly convenient for sightseeing and dining.
Of course, a century-old building will inevitably bear the marks of time. Compared to newly built hotels, the room layouts here have a unique retro charm. But this unparalleled sense of historical atmosphere is precisely the most precious gift the Yangtze Hotel offers.
If you're tired of generic chain hotels and wish to understand Shanghai in a different way, the Yangtze Hotel is an excellent choice. Here, you're not just staying in a room; you're living a forgotten chapter of the city's past, a gentle reunion with old Shanghai.

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel because we booked a queen room for a high price and when we came at 1 AM and they were well aware that we will come at 1 AM because our flight was late. They said that they upgraded us to a better room and they gave us literally a matchbox as you will see in the picture. Lying and saying that they will give an upgrade to give us a downgrade was very disappointing but also the girl said that that’s what we can do. We cannot do anything else and I said this is not the room I booked her answer was tomorrow I can give it to you. And while we were arguing with her and other person came with a confirmed booking at 1 AM and they just sent him away. The man was literally lost not knowing what to do because he had a confirmed booking and they ask him to leave because they already gave his room to somebody else exactly like they did with us. inside the room, they gave us we couldn’t walk. We couldn’t open our suitcases. We had to do it on the bed where we will sleep. The bathroom and the shower were tiny. My boyfriend is very tall so he couldn’t even get in the shower or sleep in the bed. We were so tired and we had to go through all of this. I contacted Trip.com and they called the hotel just sold. The hotel tells them that not all the rooms in the pictures are similar. Some of them are not and they blame it on me that I didn’t check all the pictures. In fact I did and the queen room was big with a huge window and the next day when they gave us our room we finally were feeling a bit better. So be careful guys. Please check the picture and look at the upgrade they gave us.

GGuest UserWe really like the hotel’s decor style. The front‑desk staff Candy was extremely friendly. During check‑in, she showed us two different room types for us to choose from. We were very satisfied with our check‑in experience.
On my wife’s birthday, we received a cake from the hotel as well as a birthday card from Candy. It was such a lovely surprise. Thank you so much for your thoughtful service!

GGuest UserAbsolutely five-star! I genuinely had a great experience. The room was clean, and they even disinfected it daily. Plus, the front desk lady was incredibly sweet and patient! This was my first time staying in a hostel, and I came to Shanghai alone. This place really made a good impression on me! Honestly, compared to hotels, hostels are a godsend for us regular university students. Next time I'm in Shanghai, I'm definitely staying here again.

FFrank LeGreat Location, Comfortable Stay, and Wonderful Staff
The hotel is located right on Nanjing Road East Pedestrian Street, which is incredibly convenient. As soon as you step out of the elevator, you are right in the middle of the pedestrian street. Metro Lines 2 and 10 are also just steps away, making it very easy to get around Shanghai. Even better, you can take Line 2 directly from Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG) to East Nanjing Road Station without changing trains. For just a few RMB, you can easily reach many parts of the city.
The room is a little small, but it is very clean and comfortable. The mattress, pillows, and bedding are all good quality, and I had a very good night’s sleep.
The staff are friendly, helpful, and welcoming. A special mention to the lovely lady at the front desk—she was especially kind, cheerful, and helpful, which made our stay even more pleasant.
Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay. The location is excellent, the room is clean and comfortable, and the staff are wonderful. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Shanghai.

GGuest UserFirst, the good points: The washing machine and dryer were super convenient, allowing us to wash our clothes during our trip – everything felt clean and tidy! It rained the day we arrived, so we were stuck inside, but the kids had a blast playing house on both floors. It's about a six-minute walk to the metro station, which is decent. The Bund is just a ten-minute walk away, perfect for admiring the historic architecture and the Oriental Pearl Tower, and experiencing the two different worlds along the Huangpu River. If you turn left out of the hotel and walk one block, you'll find a breakfast spot selling buns, porridge, and eggs at market prices. Now for the downsides: Don't expect much in the way of room service or friendly smiles from the staff.

GGuest UserI had a fantastic experience staying at the [Shanghai Yijun Hotel] during my trip to Shanghai! The location is absolutely perfect; the subway entrance is right outside, making it just a few stops to popular spots like Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street and Chenghuang Temple. After a long day of sightseeing, it was wonderful to come back to a spotlessly clean room with a meticulously made bed. The front desk staff, especially the ladies, were incredibly friendly and always greeted us with a smile whenever we entered or left. The price was very reasonable, and given the excellent service and cleanliness, it offers truly amazing value for money!

GGuest UserThe room was ok but they were renovating the building when we visited which really wasn't the best time. It qas also also a bit difficult to find it at first since you needed to take an elevator to get there and there were no signs in English.
