Approaching the first fortress in East Sichuan, Baohu Fortress. Known as "the first military fortress in Shuzhong", it is a fully enclosed residential complex in eastern Sichuan built by the Duan clan of Haomen for the purpose of avoiding war. It is named for the fact that "it is hard to build and to preserve the world, to preserve its great legacy, to retain its descendants, and to use it as a family motto for a long time". The houses in the village are surrounded by wooden structures, planks, rafters, paintings of flowers, birds, dragons and phoenixes. They are vivid in image and exquisite in craftsmanship. The courtyard dam is paved with 1.5 meters wide strips of stone. The corridor of tens of meters links the whole courtyard into one, forming an indestructible quadrangle courtyard, which is a model of ancient architecture. Searching for quiet, tree shadows whirling, the years that cannot be retained, the time that cannot be grasped, life carries too much of the past, slowly passing between fingertips.
