Martin Luther King, the leader of the American civil rights movement, was world-famous for his 1963 speech in front of the Lincoln Memorial, and won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 for his life on the path to equal rights for black Americans. The monument, called the "Stone of Hope", was carved by Chinese sculptor Lei Yi Zinc and was made of white granite, 9 meters high.
