Royal Australian Navy Heritage Centre Review

I only discovered the public area at the end of Gaden Island a week ago, and you may never see many people here (partly because it is only open on weekdays), but it is worth a visit. F7 Ferry departs every hour at X:57 and returns around X:29, so you may want to plan a tour of 1.5 or 2.5 hours. The Heritage Center itself has a two-story RAN History Museum - maybe not the largest museum, but there are some very interesting things. There is also a garden on the hill with views of the naval base and the city - the harbour is not as good as the harbour due to tall trees, but the area is usually a very quiet place in the harbour. There is a picnic, there is also a basic cafe that offers decent coffee and has a great waterside deck.

I thought I had seen most museums in Sydney until I realized that this museum exists. Good place to get there only by ferry. Very friendly rangers rendezvous with the ferry and provide a quick overview. The central part of one of the small Japanese submarines is here and so on. It's worth it!

The Exhibition Center has an introduction in English. There are also places for fast food. The buildings are very beautiful.
