Shitang Town Review

An undeveloped ancient town in Shitang. The old house in the town still lives with old residents, simple folk customs, old houses, and not too many passengers. Worth a visit

Shitang has been famous since ancient times. It is a major transportation road and commercial hub in Shanghai. It is a famous place of Lianshi Paper and one of the five major crafts industrial bases in ancient Jiangnan. It is known as "Xiao Suzhou under Wuyi Mountain". Its Lianshi Paper production skills are rated as a national intangible cultural heritage. The number, scale and overall style of Jiangyou's houses are well preserved, and it is an important place for viewing humanistic landscape, folk culture and red tourism.

Yesterday, I went to see the bustling ancient town of Estuary. I saw other people's travel notes and felt that Shitang Ancient Town was average. I went to the town to park by the river and felt that there should be nothing to see. They were all new houses. Fortunately, we didn't give up. In fact, there are some ancient towns with caves. Asking the locals for directions, I was very enthusiastic to take us into the ancient street, telling us that as long as we walked along the cobblestone road, it was all the ancient streets. Entering the ancient town, going to the right, there are some old houses, not very well preserved, there is no surprise here. The Tianhe gate of the Central District Upper Street group from the base to the arch is all built by bluestone, and the architect creatively designed the columns under the arch coupon into a pair of vases, carving characters and flower patterns in various parts of the vase. The arch coupon is handled with thick threaded feet, perfect for a combination of Roman style and Chinese traditional style.
