Our group of three had dinner here in November. The restaurant has a front and a back room - we were seated in the back one, which is very pleasant. Although the restaurant was quite full, the noise level was not at all high (happily, no background music) and we were able to chat away comfortably. Not a very wide choice of dishes, though what looked a decent four-course set menu was available at 32 euros. Four courses seemed a bit too much for us, so we ordered à la carte (probably the right decision, since we each had a starter and a main, and then shared a dessert). All the food was cooked and presented well, and we enjoyed just about everything. The highlights were both starters, and indeed soups: one with fish, provencal-style, the other celeriac and mushroom with pear chutney - sounds odd, but tasted delicious. My main course involved wild boar - the meat was excellent, but the accompaniments not quite so good, e.g. a rather odd potato roll which was like cardboard. The wines were a little pricy, but complemented the food well enough, as did the rather less expensive draught beer. Once they got round to taking our order (though to be fair, we dithered around quite a lot), the staff were very attentive and made a good impression. Overall, the restaurant's style might be described as traditional German with a modern twist. It's not exactly cheap (our bill came to about 165 euros, a third of which was for drinks), but nor is it unduly expensive, given the standard of the food and service and the generally pleasant nature of the venue. I'd certainly go there again.
