Our particular room faced the street, and Parisian mornings are quite noisy with garbage collection. Upon check-in, we had specifically requested a quiet, courtyard-facing room. After some discussion, they offered to move us on our last day, but as packing would be a hassle and we had plans for that day, we decided not to bother with the move. Those initial champagne flutes remained on the desk for three days without being collected – seriously, is that a question of basic hotel service or just a complete lack of attention? The placement of the bathroom magnifying mirror was incredibly tricky; it would topple over onto the tap with just a slight touch, and there was nowhere else to put it. When it fell, it shattered into two pieces. We left a specific note asking for it to be cleared away and also informed the front desk directly. The result? The mirror was removed, but two shards of broken glass were left behind, which was absolutely appalling. Imagine if we had a child with us... is this incompetence again? The hotel hosts a significant number of Chinese and Asian guests, and an elderly Asian gentleman was part of the restaurant service staff. While numerous 4-star hotels in the vicinity average between €200-€300, this establishment, a 5-star property, offers relatively good value, operating more like a high-end boutique hotel. Naturally, illustrious neighbors like The Ritz and Rosewood are far more imposing and luxurious, but their prices are commensurately higher.

There’s a musty, almost moldy smell in the room, and the water pressure is so low that it took me forever to take a shower. 😩 But then again, the last 5-star hotel I stayed at didn’t even have hot water, so… I guess low water pressure is something I can live with. They did upgrade my room, but honestly… aside from being bigger, there’s not much to like. Since it’s just the two of us, we don’t really need a larger room anyway. The whole place — from the room itself to the building and even the elevator — feels old and a bit unpleasant. For a 5-star hotel, it’s really disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend it. On the day of checkout, the reception called us and said because they were fully booked, we have to leave at noon sharp and not one minute more! They even send a staff to our rooms to watch us pack. Having said that, the hotel enjoys a really central location with walking distance to some of the famous tourist spots, and the breakfast is simple but good. The hotel's location is excellent. It's a short walk to both M6 and C metro lines, which take you directly to Versailles Palace and Notre Dame. Plus, the Eiffel Tower is right next to the hotel, so we got to see it every day coming in and out. We arrived around 10 AM, and after becoming members, they allowed us to check in early. The room size was decent, with enough space to fully open two suitcases. Housekeeping was good; the room was cleaned daily, and hygiene was well-maintained. However, the toiletries were quite disappointing and stingy. There were no slippers, and the shower gel and shampoo were a 3-in-1 product. The drinking cups and mouthwash cups were small disposable paper cups. While the mouthwash cups were replaced daily for a while, we stayed four nights, and by the last day, they were unusable and weren't replaced with new ones after being taken away. Tissues weren't replenished daily either; we had one box for the entire stay, which ran out on the last night. These small details were quite frustrating. Also, they don't provide complimentary bottled water in the room, but there's a free water dispenser in the lobby where you can refill as many times as you like. These are things future guests should be aware of before booking.

The biggest advantage: convenient transportation! It's super convenient, just 100 meters walk from the subway station. Both the RER and metro are easily accessible, and you can get to the Louvre and Arc de Triomphe within 20 minutes. It's also very close to Gare de Lyon, about a 200-meter walk. Nice – a perfect hotel, top-tier. Just stayed at the Radssion Blu in Nice and the Peninsula Hotel in Paris, completely different experiences. This hotel brought me peace and fulfillment. The staff were all very welcoming and polite. I'd give the hotel's scent an 11/10 – it smelled amazing! I even picked up the soap packaging after washing my hands to take a picture, hoping to see what each one smelled like. The toiletries were all sample sizes, convenient to take home, and the air was filled with a herbal fragrance while I slept. The hotel is clean, imbued with a sense of divinity and artistry, beautifully blending 17th-century elements with modern design. There's no TV, but three windows and a balcony are a wonderful feature. The only downside is that the hotel address doesn't match the taxi drop-off point. As a Ctrip Black Diamond member, I contacted customer service, who replied that the hotel told me to get off at the correct address. However, it was an 11-minute walk from my drop-off point to my destination (I had three suitcases). I still don't know if the hotel's response was incorrect or if the customer service representative made a mistake. For those who have booked, please be careful! The correct drop-off address is 2 Rue Centrale. Then call the hotel shuttle to pick you up. Don't book 1 Rue!!! I've been to Nice three times, and this is my first time staying at this hotel. But I think I'll definitely choose this hotel first when I come to Nice for the fourth time. It truly brings happiness.

The advantages are that the hotel is located in Angel Bay, the breakfast is delicious, and the room has been renovated and is not too old. But there is one thing that is very unsatisfactory. We booked a double room with a child's bed, but when we checked in, we were assigned a very small, very damp room in the most corner (facing the linen room). There was no bathtub, the bathroom was very shabby, the washbasin was very small, the room space was almost too big to open the suitcase, and there was no light... It was not until we found that the room facilities were broken and strongly requested to change rooms that we were given another double room, which was three times larger than the previous one!!! There was also a bathtub, and the bathroom and washbasin were also in the normal star hotel format. I seriously suspect that the hotel is looking at people and thinking that we don't speak the language, which makes me not choose this hotel again.

The location is convenient – about a 10-minute walk to Nice Riquier train station, and 20-25 minutes on foot to Place Masséna. Tram #1 runs nearby, and a bit further, from Place Garibaldi, you can catch tram #2 to the airport and tram #3. Across the street from the hotel is a shopping center with a Carrefour that we visited daily. The room has almost everything you need for a stay, including a well-equipped kitchenette with a two-burner stove, microwave, kettle, capsule coffee machine (we don't drink coffee, so didn't use it), refrigerator, and dishwasher (with a few tablets provided). There was also dish soap, but no sponge (we had to buy one ourselves). There was also no cutting board (we bought one too). All necessary utensils are available (though for knives, there's only a small one for vegetables and a bread knife; a larger, all-purpose knife would have been nice). For those who care, there were no cooking essentials like salt, sugar, or spices, which are usually present in apartments of this type. As warned beforehand, there's no cleaning service during your stay (there's a vacuum cleaner in the closet). You have to take out the trash yourself, and towels are not changed (there's a heated towel rail in the bathroom, which is very convenient; you can wash something and it dries quickly). The bathroom has liquid soap and shower gel, a bathtub, and a shower hose. An ironing board is available (I don't recall an iron as it wasn't needed). There's also a safe. Our stay was quite satisfying, and we would book again.

Overall, a great hotel! The location is excellent – it's a 10-minute walk to the station or a 5-minute taxi ride, and there's a shopping street right downstairs. You can also walk to the beach in 10 minutes. The first night, we made a last-minute booking for a superior king room and a standard large room (212 and 411). There was a 100 RMB price difference, but I'm not sure why the 'better' room actually had a smaller bed. It was unclear which one was more expensive. The following three nights, we had pre-booked a superior triple room. We wanted to extend our stay in the existing rooms but were told it would cost an extra 600+ Euros, which seemed baffling since the two rooms combined cost 2600 RMB, less than one night in the 3000+ RMB superior triple. The front desk even suggested we switch to room 208, saying it was the best – a quad room – but that would have cost an additional 90+ Euros for three nights. We looked at it and thought it was just okay, so we didn't switch. When we checked in that afternoon, we were given room 106, which turned out to be quite good! It had a partition between the king bed and the sofa bed, and the bathroom had a separate wet and dry area. Glad we didn't switch! I won't post many photos as they look just like the official ones.
