Service: The service was great, and the front desk staff were very enthusiastic. They even asked if I had a preferred room number or numbers I wanted to avoid, which was very considerate.
Environment: However, the overall room size was very small. The room I was given seemed to be a disabled-access room, with a very large bathroom, but I didn't like that there were so many rooms on that floor.
Facilities: There's a gym and a swimming pool, but the pool is tiny, almost not suitable for actual swimming.
The hotel entrance is a bit hard to find, located in what's essentially an alley. But the surrounding area is quite lively, with plenty of coffee shops and shopping options.FromPKR 35,338

The hotel is a bit old, but its location is a big plus – super convenient for shopping! The bed was comfy and soft, and the in-room facilities were well-equipped. No one offered to help with luggage, and the hotel has two entrances, but the staff didn't tell me which one was easier for catching a ride. When I came back by taxi, they didn't open the door for me, but when my friends dropped me off, they were very enthusiastic, opened the car door, and greeted us!FromPKR 59,599

The room was decent, and the bed was incredibly soft, a real 'white-people bed' as they say, with excellent blackout curtains perfect for sleeping. We booked a one-bedroom suite, and the staff thoughtfully added an extra bed for us. The only downside was the somewhat chaotic front desk management. When we checked in, they told us the suite we booked was unavailable, claiming it was double-booked and offering us a standard room instead. It was the first time I'd heard of being downgraded because a room wasn't available! 😂 After I showed them our confirmation, they fiddled around a bit and eventually 'found' a suite for us. However, our booking included breakfast, and after the room change, we couldn't access the breakfast area the next day. We had to go back to the front desk to explain the situation again, and they finally gave us a card. On the second morning of our stay, we again couldn't get breakfast and spent another half an hour sorting it out. It was quite a hassle, making me feel like the money spent wasn't really worth it. Throughout the whole process, there was no mention of compensation; they just fixed the immediate problem. In previous hotels, when there was an issue, they usually provided a better experience after resolving it.
As for the restaurant teacups, honestly, they weren't clean; many had coffee stains.FromPKR 41,018

The rooms were spacious, well-equipped, clean, and tidy, with attentive service. My husband and I met our son, daughter-in-law, and grandson in Melbourne for a few days of sightseeing. We booked two deluxe king rooms, and the front desk staff warmly accommodated us by placing both rooms on the same floor, which was very convenient for us.
The hotel's breakfast was high quality and plentiful, though perhaps slightly less extensive than some five-star hotels. The service staff were very attentive. The restaurant is on the top floor and offers expansive views.
The hotel's pool water temperature was just perfect, which was a pleasant surprise!
The hotel's location offers excellent transportation links; it's just a few minutes' walk to the free city circle tram stop, which can take you to many attractions.FromPKR 42,235

It's quite a long walk from Southern Cross Station, and some of the paths are narrow, making it difficult to pull luggage. The front desk is on the second floor, and self-check-in is available. Since I arrived early and wanted to check in sooner, I paid an extra $25 per night to upgrade to a queen room with a desk. The deposit was $100. The room facilities were complete, though the shower head in the bathroom was fixed overhead and only allowed for direction adjustment. There were plenty of TV channels, including Phoenix TV for Chinese viewers. The staff on the ground floor were very friendly.FromPKR 19,799

• Service: The staff were friendly, helpful, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure guests had a pleasant experience.

Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel, especially for solo travelers. Excellent value and a wonderful experience!FromPKR 16,472

The room isn't huge, but it's perfectly adequate. The environment is clean and tidy, very well-maintained. It's right in the middle of the city, super close to the day tour meeting point, just a few minutes' walk. Overall, highly recommended! FromPKR 25,154

I recently stayed at Novotel Melbourne on Collins, and overall it was a great experience. The location is unbeatable — right in the heart of the city, with easy access to shops, cafes, and public transport.
The rooms were clean, modern, and comfortable, with large windows overlooking Collins Street. The bed was very cozy and ensured a good night’s sleep. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially at check-in — they made everything smooth and welcoming.
Breakfast had a good variety of options, and the dining area was bright and pleasant. The gym and facilities were well-maintained, though the pool was a bit small.
Overall, it’s an excellent choice for both business and leisure stays. The combination of great location, comfort, and professional service makes it one of the best value stays in Melbourne CBD.FromPKR 34,891

We stayed altogether three nights here. The hotel was converted from a historical building dated back to 1890s . We enjoyed the stay-included breakfast at Alluvial restaurant. It got charming vibe. the King Classic room we stayed is spacious consider it is in zone 1 of Melbourne. The hotel is in walking distance to many of the Melbourne city attractions we are even able to take some rest in the room in our planned city walking trip in the middle of a very hot summer sunny day.
The bathroom provides Byredo toiletries which we like. However, the decor is a bit dated and need refreshing and we are not happy with the service level of the staff. For example, the phone handfree function is not working properly; the safe is according to the hotel ”in the process of replacement” and not working either; the call to ”Instant Service” for help often took more than 5-seconds ring especially during the night time. There is even a false fire alert during one of the morning time of our stay. I doubt it is a standard of Intercontinental hotel or a 5-star rated hotel.
For whom consider staying at this room type of this hotel, please note the windows is fixed and facing the hallway so the room has 1. no natural sunlight 2. no fresh air and 3. needs closing the curtains all the time if you prefer privacy. Another point worth noting is the bathroom floor is very slippery after bath, I would call it a death trap if you wear the one-off slippers that is provided in the room as you can easily get a slip and fall on the bathroom floor even for a grown adult.FromPKR 48,442

The hotel's amenities are good; the room is spacious, and the bed and bedding are very comfortable. However, the minibar being located between the luggage rack and the bathroom is a bit odd and inconvenient, as you have to walk around to get hot water. The gym is excellent, with plenty of familiar equipment that's easy to use. There's also a swimming pool that looks to be about 20-25 meters long, and a tennis court on the 14th floor, which would be great for playing on a nice day. My room was on the 18th floor, and the view outside the window was nothing special. I'm sure there are rooms of the same type facing the church or garden, so I was a bit disappointed with the view I got. Breakfast was okay, but a bit lacking compared to what you'd find in China.FromPKR 60,492

The hotel website stated parking was $35, but it actually cost $40. Self-parking involved driving our own car to the adjacent parking lot, and valet parking was $95. The hotel's location was very convenient for transport, and the unique breakfast was a definite highlight. However, despite requesting a high-floor, street-view room away from the elevators, we were assigned a room right by the elevators with only a limited street view, which somewhat diminished the five-star experience. There was no in-room washing machine, and we had to send out laundry at an extra cost, which was quite inconvenient. I only booked this hotel because I wanted to experience a five-star property; however, despite its five-star rating, it just felt like something was missing.FromPKR 43,817

The car park is challenging to access, it took me awhile to get the lift door opened and to get in, really need to align the car properly. The room itself is comfortable, with great views of crown tower. The pots are not cleaned well though. The washer and dryer comes in handy. Good place to stay on the whole.FromPKR 23,531

Great hotel with excellent service and value for money. I accidentally left 700 AUD in the room safe after check-out and only realized it at the airport. The staff handled it quickly and professionally, and I got my money back without any hassle.
The hotel feels very safe and quiet, the room is spacious and comfortable, and the front desk staff are friendly. The location is perfect — opposite Southern Cross Station, easy for trains and the airport, with a Coles supermarket across the street. The area is very walkable. Highly recommended!

We stayed at the hotel as a family with two children for 4 nights and had a wonderful experience overall. The staff was very friendly and attentive, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The swimming pool, complete with a Jacuzzi, was a highlight for both the adults and the kids.
The beds were comfortable, and the room cleaning service was thorough and efficient. The hotel’s location is excellent, making it convenient to explore the surrounding area.
The only downside was the cost of laundry services—$8 in total ($4 for washing and $4 for drying)—which felt a bit steep.
Overall, a great stay with excellent service and amenities. Highly recommended for families!FromPKR 29,617

The facilities are complete and it's right next to a free tram stop, making transportation very convenient. However, check-in took quite a while. Even though I arrived early, I didn't get into my room until almost 3 PM. The room itself was a bit small and dark; the lighting wasn't very bright, and there was no openable window, so it felt stuffy. Cooking would definitely make the smell linger.FromPKR 23,896
