I stayed here twice - the first time, an ordinary room, the 2nd time, I thought maybe the Horizon Club might be a higher level. Before I say anything, I may choose to stay again for the location! This property is not 'Shangri-LA' as you would expect - the windows are all dirty which is disappointing for 'Marina View' rooms... The Horizon lounge furniture is closer to school lunch hall style, and the dinner - well, I don't eat in food halls with sausage rolls and spring rolls. We ate in the main street which was AWESOME!. The ping pong table is bent, bats are without surface, and the air hockey machine without pucks.. Basically a 'cashing in on the brand' experience...

I read reviews saying it was old, but after arriving I found it was beyond my expectations, clean and tidy, the facilities were well maintained, each room had a small terrace, the soundproofing of the old hotel was a little poor, and the breakfast was ordered, which was excellent.

This hotels wins the first place among other hotels on our Cairns trip! Brand new with mazing staff who are always there to make your stay perfect. The hotel has four pools in this nice courtyard area facing the beach, so you can swim with the view. Yet, the pools are not crowded at all. Family pool doesn’t look like, yet it is shallow with sand, little fountains and everyone seemed to have fun in there. Rooms are spacious and the beds are super comfy. Balconies are made for outdoor use with furniture and even night light. The view is worth the price!

We had an EXCELLENT experience staying at the Cairns Plaza, especially the friendly and helpful welcome upon check in (young women, brown hair, very hospitable). All amenities were great, including the hotel pool. We were just a stones throw from the lagoon and a short stroll to the town centre. The team even held our bags after check out and allowed us to use their pool and changing rooms. Thank you.

Very convenient location for us to explore Cairns and go onto boat trip. Walkable to many popular eatery and harbour. Lobby staff is helpful and friendly for basic enquiries and baggage. This is our second stay at Benson.

We stayed in an executive room on the eighth (of nine) floors in mid-July.  The executive lounge was generally poorly stocked and food and drinks often unavailable with no staff around for over a couple of hours at a time. We were here for seven nights, so have a reasonably good time frame to judge.  The swimming pool is surprisingly frigid in July, actually unpleasantly cold when there was any kind of breeze or cloud cover.  The bathroom shower drainage was not ideal: every short shower resulted in puddles on the bathroom floor; long showers meant the whole floor was covered in standing water.  Every time the neighbors used the spa or coffee machine, the noises were very loudly transmitted into our room.  The balcony was very nice and the wicker furniture comfortable.

The room is clean and tidy, the front desk is warm and thoughtful, the location is in the city center, convenient for travel, the hotel facilities are complete, the service is friendly and enthusiastic, and the 24-hour service is particularly thoughtful and convenient

Very comfortable night sleep, room was clean staff were helpful. Please note the lift is currently under construction so you may need to use the stairs, the stairs are not suitable for children as they have horizontal rails with large gaps. The restraunts buffet looked like it had a decent selection but we did not have it as it was $16each our two and three year olds.

Lovely hotel located at the other end of the Esplanade. The broad walk at the back of the hotel was nice to stroll along and an easy way to get to the city center. Kudos to the reception staff, Riccardo for leaving a really good first impression when I first arrived. He was so clear in explaining everything I needed to know before I checked in, and subsequent days when I saw him he was also really helpful with whatever requests I had. The room was big and spacious, very comfy beds!! The housekeeping staff were also friendly whenever I saw them as I head out for the day. Food from the room service was tasty. However, the breakfast buffet options were almost the same everyday though, wish there could have been more variety. But overall, I still had a rather pleasant stay here(:

My first room in building C was awful with the view of the opposite hotel. I could literally watch what other people did in their room and they could watch me as well. Also the room condition was so bad with crawling insects so I needed to upgrade the room. The upgraded room was fine with a poolside view and less bugs crawling on the wooden table. I understand there could be little creatures but just too many in the first room. Other than that, their food was delicious and staffs were kind and friendly. My kid loved playing in the pool.
