Large hotel located in a very convenient location close to train stations and shopping centres.
There are two breakfast options in which you can choose to eat at a diversified buffet or a set menu in an observation deck on the 14th floor.
The hotel itself is a bit old but renovated inside. Overall, it's very luxurious for the price but the bedding were not too comfortable.
Free shuttle departs every 20 minutes between Kyoto station and the hotel. Super convenient for shopping at the station or transferring large luggages.
Water and ice filler locations are available on each floor. The gym cost extra to use. Luggage delivery is possible within the hotel as well (cash only).From$106

The location is incredibly convenient, right on the second floor of Kyoto Station. Every time we exited the subway, we were practically at the hotel, which was super handy. The room itself was quite spacious, with a business-like aesthetic. The night view from the window was fantastic; from our room, we could see the railway lines of Kyoto Station, and I imagine the Kyoto Tower would be visible from the other side. It seems the swimming pool has a fee. When we checked out, my son forgot his watch in the room. After contacting Ctrip, the hotel located it and held it at the front desk. When we went to pick it up, they had even packaged it nicely in a bag for us. The service was absolutely excellent.From$243

The biggest advantage of Hotel Gajoen Tokyo is definitely its location. Beyond its prime spot in the city center, there's a direct walkway from the hotel's third floor straight to Takashimaya. You can walk along the green passage into the mall, turn a corner, and be at Din Tai Fung – it's incredibly convenient. This stay, I specifically booked a corner room to experience the lounge. The room was spacious, and the bathroom had a great four-piece layout. The large windows let in plenty of light, and catching a glimpse of the beautiful Higashiyama scenery in the distance was a pleasant surprise. The lounge is also on the third floor, so after browsing Takashimaya, it was lovely to just tap my card, go in, and relax with a drink.
The breakfast selection wasn't huge, but most items were high quality. I ate there for three days and didn't get bored. The ham, salmon, and homemade yogurt sauce were all excellent, and the latte was delicious too.
Furthermore, the cleanliness of this popular hotel exceeded my expectations. Daily housekeeping was impeccable, and they didn't compromise on standards under the guise of being eco-friendly, which I really appreciated. Huge thanks to the staff.From$360

This hotel boasts a quiet location, tucked away on a peaceful lane, yet it's only about a 10-minute walk to the bustling city center and many attractions, which I really appreciated. The staff were friendly and polite, and the room hygiene met standards. The hot spring was uncrowded and clean, both inside and out. The only thing that wasn't ideal was the hotel restaurant. I had dinner there once, the tempura set, and it was all tempura, which was quite greasy. The combination of dishes wasn't very healthy or refined. Other than that, I was very satisfied and would choose to stay here again on my next trip to Kyoto.From$376

Near by the Teamlab Bivortex.
Big room, Digital TV, Bottled water is available at the check-in counter. The 1st hotel that has a power strip provided in the room. An elevator has a window with nice view.
Suggestion for improvement
- Bathroom light is warm (too warm) which gave it an old-fashioned feel

Exceeded my expectations! I randomly picked this hotel, and since I was traveling during the off-season, the price was reasonable, and most importantly, they had a triple room. Compared to other Japanese hotels, the room was quite spacious. The location is super convenient; within a 10-minute walk, there's a subway and bus station, and it's also very close to Kyoto Station – excellent transportation. The hotel facilities are relatively new. The only minor drawback might be the poor soundproofing.
The service was also great. I stored my luggage there before check-in and then checked in after 3 PM using the self-service kiosk. Besides standard toiletries, the hotel also provided facial cleanser and some lotion/toner, which even Koko hotels don't offer. Plus, each floor has a microwave for heating food, and they provided cutlery. The nearby 7-Eleven was well-stocked, but when I left, I didn't realize the Indian clerk hadn't given me cutlery, so I ended up getting it from the hotel. Overall, I was very satisfied!From$140

I've stayed at a few Keihan Group hotels, and they've all been great, but this Kyoto Station South hotel is particularly excellent. The Chinese-speaking front desk staff provided fantastic service during check-in, making me feel truly at home. I also got lucky this time; I arrived at 12 PM and was able to check in early. The daily breakfast is also incredible value for money; 1980 yen on its own isn't expensive at all, and it's an absolute steal when bundled with the room. The 11 AM check-out time is very reasonable, and the luggage storage facilities are excellent, making you feel very secure. However, the self-service lockers fill up quickly, so you often have to leave your bags with the staff. All the amenities are thoughtful and convenient. The only minor drawback is that the expensive hairdryer is too large, taking up space and being awkward to use in the small bathroom. In the afternoons, you can also enjoy complimentary coffee and drinks at the restaurant. The location is unbeatable; it's right across the street from Hachijo Exit, making shopping, dining, and public transport incredibly convenient. The bus to Kansai Airport is also nearby, which is much more comfortable than taking the train. I will definitely stay here again next time I visit Kyoto.From$107

More than 5 times to stayed in this hotel. Everything is perfect. It’s just 5-8 minutes walk from Kyoto JR station. The Onsen is perfect. You can enjoy Onsen overnight until next day morning, so if you come back late you can still enjoy the Onsen. Free ramen offered from 21:00-23:00, which is very delicious, and the hotel breakfast is Perfect too. There is Sashimi Bowl.
Room is clean as always and this time the view is very good we can see Kyoto Tower.

Absolutely incredible value for money, a total no-brainer to book! What more could you ask for at around 700 JPY for 4 nights? The location is perfect, nestled between Kyoto Station and the Shijo shopping district – a quiet oasis in a bustling area. The guest lounge on the 3rd floor is spacious, and there's a local Fresco supermarket diagonally across the street where we stocked up on snacks and yuzu ponzu to take home, all at great prices. You'll find quite a few Westerners staying here. There's a 7-Eleven downstairs, and about 1.5 km away is Byodo-ji Temple, known for pet blessings. The hundred-year-old Smart Coffee is also not far (3 bus stops away). All in all, it exceeded expectations, highly recommended!From$67

It's our first time staying here and we really love the hotel location. Apart from it took us a while to find the entrance coz we missed it the first time and went back down the escalator near the Starbucks than it's on the right side. Just look out for the signage. There were so many things to explore around the hotel and if we walked up towards the Kyoto teamlab there's a couple of halal food. We found one halal restaurant Zen which was a little pricy but the quality of the food and the friendly staff makes it so worth it. There's a few shopping malls and the Aeon Mall is worth a visit too. There are lots to explore along the train stations. The train museum is just along the train line too.From$101

I am from Yangzhou, Jiangsu. Although Yangzhou is a garden city, there are many such style escape hotels in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, Hongxi Noya of Hoshino Group is definitely worth living. The overall health is very good, the facilities are well maintained and there is no musty smell. That is, all the windows can be wiped clean. This time I checked in in the evening. When I took a taxi, I saw the sunset of Lushan, which was a value-added item. The reception staff was very polite and welcoming. At night, the girl was invited to drive us to the hotel entrance. This road was too standard, almost standing on the mountain, and there was a feeling of adventure. When I checked out, I felt the ship of Hoshino. By the way, I recommend the dyeing workshop and Zhai Pavilion are diagonally opposite. If you like the scenery, it is worth seeing.SOLD OUT
