It is a Roman Catholic church. Located in the old city of Vilnius, it is the center of Catholic spiritual life in the country. The coronation ceremony is here, and many famous noblemen are buried in churches and tombs from Lithuanian and Polish history (royal mausoleums). Inside are tombstones of murals, paintings, sculptures, and other artworks. It has been expanded, rebuilt, and restored over centuries, and it has been destroyed and burned many times. This neoclassical style building main facade is decorated with four Gospels of Baroque-style sculpture. Three sculptures are placed on the roof of the cathedral (St. Casimir, St. Stanislos in the center and St. Helena). Standing in front of the cathedral (one of Alderton's oldest and tallest towers), it offers a beautiful panoramic view. The house of the Baroque St Casimir Church (1636) was built by the patron saint of Lithuania. Really impressive. The spacious and lively cathedral square hosts concerts, special events, celebrations, etc. In short, its simplicity and tranquility are wonderful. Preserved well. Big, bright and fun! Great location. Close to other attractions, restaurants, cafes, shops and more! Good environment. Beautiful at any time of the day. Definitely a must!
