Best Hotels in Koh Samui

"We had a very pleasant stay here. The location is excellent—right behind the beach and directly opposite a convenience shop, which was so handy. The room was clean and the pool area was lovely. However, two things really need to be improved. First, there should be a rule to ban smoking at the poolside, as the smell was unpleasant for non-smokers. Second, there were a lot of mosquitoes in the area; providing repellent or doing more frequent pest control would make a big difference. A great spot that could be perfect with a few changes! ---"

"Really incredible staff. Very close to the beach, about 5 mins, small rooms, comfy beds, good fridge & little freezer, upgraded to the mountain view balcony, which was a gorgeous view! Enjoyed our stay."

"This will be part one of review (reason is we already extended stay for another 4 nights) Hotel is wonderful, 2 great pools (one right in the garden with lots of lovely trees around amd right next to the room) balcony of room also has a great view of pool and the garden. 2nd pool larger and also surrounded by great salas and decking etc. The beach which is maybe 100m walk from room is fantastic, lovely sandy beach with plenty of chairs and decking for comfort. The staff from the reception to the maids to the serving staff all super nice and friendly. I came with wife and daughter for 3 nights originally bit extended for another 4 nights as the hotel amd grounds and staff just all so nice.. everything you need is right here. As the hotel is just off the chaweng main strip thought maybe would be noisy but absolutely not.. it's far enough down towards the beach that the main strip isn't an issue, (unless of course you want to see the main strip and the many bars resteraunts s etc well no problem either as all of this is walking distance away so best of both worlds) Breakfast buffet has plenty of options also. So after another 4 days we may extend a bit more as I day it has everything you need for a great beach tropical holiday. Food amd drinks all reasonably priced (food is excellent with a wide selection)"

"I had a lovely stay at Samui First Hotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff welcomed warmly and even offered a refreshing welcome drink, which was a nice touch. The check-in process was smooth and hassle-free. The hotel offers plenty of amenities, and the breakfast in the morning was delicious—definitely a great way to start the day. The pool area is clean and well-maintained, perfect for a quick dip or relaxing by the water. Although there's no elevator, it wasn’t a big issue for me. The hotel is a bit far from Central Samui and the beach, so renting a bike is a good idea if you want to explore the island. Chaweng Beach is the closest, and it's a beautiful spot. I also recommend checking out Ark Bar—it’s a great place to chill, especially in the late afternoon or evening. Overall, a pleasant experience and a great place to stay on Samui Island.🤗❤️"

"Super spacious villa style room, with a gorgeous sea view. Very serene and tranquil, and facilities were decent too. Location was slightly more secluded, but good that it is near to the airport!"

"The hotel doesn't quite live up to a 5-star rating. However, it does have pleasant grounds, two pools, and a restaurant. The breakfasts are decent, with a good variety on offer, but they're rather uninspired and not particularly delicious. On the plus side, the coffee is good. The cocktails at the bar during the day were disappointing (we tried a Piña Colada once and weren't tempted to order another). A major highlight is the excellent direct beach access with sun loungers. The beach itself is fantastic. We were very pleased to see security on the beach who also helped set up umbrellas and arrange sun loungers. There's also a staff member with a first aid kit to treat cuts from corals – a very thoughtful touch (which we actually needed assistance with). Among the obvious drawbacks, the soundproofing in the rooms is extremely poor. We ended up with noisy neighbors who were also smoking ******** on their balcony (though it's legalized in Thailand). As a result, our room smelled terrible, and the noisy parties made it impossible for us to relax. On the bright side, when we reported this to reception, they immediately gave us a key to another room so we could get some much-needed sleep there, which we did. In terms of service, the hotel staff deserves a 5/5. Housekeeping and room comfort would get a 3/5 each, and breakfasts a 4/5. Overall, I'd give it a four out of five."

"The villa room type was excellent overall and offered great value for money. The room was quite spacious (much larger than the photos suggested). It actually featured two beds – one large and one small – which was ideal for families. Its location was also superb: right on Chaweng Beach and just off Koh Samui's busiest main street, making it incredibly convenient for shopping, dining, and entertainment. Despite the central location, it was surprisingly quiet and peaceful at night."

"Very friendly staff met the owner very dedicated Swedish man who seeks upmost hospitality bed has a spring to it finally no more hard material decent enough privacy bathroom good too and really good AC. Free coffee and tea anytime of day. Opt for clothes washing and also renting motorcycles at a price ofc. Would 100% stay again"

"This hotel is fine if you just need something basic. When I first got there I found that the AC was infested with mold. They did clean it when I mentioned it, but having it there in general isn't a good sign of cleanliness. The bathroom is very small and a bit awkward with no shower curtain, so prepare to soak the bathroom and then some when you shower. The liquid soap is actually quite bad to, buy your own. If you stay here then do it for it's proximity to the beach. It's a 2 mins early to chaewang beach, 2 mins from the muy Thai stadium and 5 mins from the girly bars. The hotel is just ok, but There are also a few other hotels nearby that may give you more bang for your buck."

"Very authentic, peaceful and well located. Only negative comment was the behaviour of the Germans who were staying there. Very rude as they are known for; hogging the sunbeds all day. Most were unoccupied but “kept” with their towels for when they returned from day trips in the late afternoon"
