After Ming Chengzu Zhu Ying took the throne in the first year of Ming Chengle (1403), he intended to move the capital from Nanjing Yingtianfu (now Nanjing City) to Beijing, so he changed Beiping to Beijing, and began building the palace and city hall in Beijing from Yongle four years (1406),[3] and extended the southern city of Yuan Metropolis to the south for nearly one kilometer. It was still called Li Main Gate. This time, it took two years to build, and it was built in Ming Yongle in 17 years (1419) and completed in Yongle 19 years (1421). Later, through Hongxi and Xuande two generations, it has been called Li Main Gate, and the shape has not changed.
