The gate of Zion is also named for the south side of Mount Zion. It is also called the gate of David, because the tomb of David is located in Mount Zion, and therefore is called the gate of David. Inside the gate is the Armenian and Jewish quarters. Due to the first Middle East war, the city gates and walls can still be seen in the dense bullet marks left at that time.
