Krabi boasts world-class coastlines, beaches, and islands. It is a mecca for rock-climbers, while its stunning underwater environment and marine life are magnets for diving enthusiasts.
Some people believe this place, known as the magical island, resembles a chicken's head, while others think it's more of an ax-handle--but foreigners have likened it to Popeye the Sailor. Its craggy cliffs, typical of this part of southern Thailand, inspire people in all kinds of different ways: enjoy the sun, bathe in the sea breeze, stroll along the silvery-white beaches, or take in the endless tropical scenery.
After lunch you can chill out under a coconut tree, dive into the bluest of blue seas, splash about with the fish, or experience the unique atmosphere of southeast Asia. The sea is warm and clear, with dappled coral reef and multicolored tropical fish under the waves.

This is the largest of the islets around Koh Poda, and is located 20 kilometres south of Koh Lanta, less than 20 minutes away by speedboat. Thanks to the mysterious ways of mother nature, the island has been crafted into a chicken shape.
The warm and clear waters around the island are perfect for diving; and you also have the opportunity for unmissable sights such as encountering the beautiful, cartoonish tropical fish, or diving to see the beautiful coral reefs. At the far end of the beach, the island's monkeys sometimes come down to visit, and the locals often feed them.
The Koh Lanta region is made up of 52 islands, which are rapidly developing into an extremely popular mid-range destination. Here there are return ferries taking tourists to Koh Phi Phi, as well as boats making separate excursions to Phuket.
Koh Lanta is a coastal resort, but in case you're tired of the beach, it still has plenty of sights worth seeing in its interior. It is a pretty interesting island. In the north of the island, Ban Sala Dan is the main harbor for access to Koh Lanta. On the beaches in the southwest, you can still find Koh Lanta's ancient schools and hippie vibe. This part has the best beaches. Going south along the east coast, you come to the old town of Lanta.
It's also worth noting that the farther south you go, the quieter it gets. At the southernmost tip of the island is Koh Lanta National Park, surrounded by breathtaking beaches.
Koh Hong, or Hong Island, is north of Krabi. "Hong" means "room" in Thai, and the island derives its name from the fact that there is an inlet on the north side where, approaching by boat, an inner paradise opens up, including a small bay encircled by limestone hills that looks just like a naturally formed room. Mangrove forests grow all round the water's edge, the gentle waves lap softly, and whether you arrive by tourist ferry, long-tail boat, or canoe, it's hard not to feel relaxed as you soak up the almost otherworldly tranquility.
Amateur divers' paradise. Apart from this bay, there is a larger one on the west side of Koh Hong where the clean white sand is soft and fine, perfect for a stroll or sun bathing, and the clear seawater promises pure pleasure whether you're swimming, snorkeling, or paddling your canoe. The island has a rich ecology and light tourist traffic, so you can slow down and take it in at your leisure.
The leisurely, peaceful town of Krabi lies where the Krabi River meets the sea.
Coming out of the airport, there is a shuttle bus that takes you to the town in about 30 minutes. The most endearing aspect of the town is its leisurely atmosphere: the silent and graceful Krabi River flows through it, replete with huge stretches of mangrove forest and the multitude of monkeys and wild animals that live inside them. Aquafarms on the river breed all manner of weird and wonderful fish that pique visitors' curiosity.
A pleasurable riverside stroll with a wide range of delicacies to choose from. In Krabi town, eating is convenient and there is plenty to choose from. Food and accommodation are inexpensive, but accommodation is mostly basic-level and best suited to those just looking for somewhere to refuel and rest their head before going out island-hopping the next morning.
Bustling Krabi night market. Krabi night market is the highlight of the town--so much so that visitors to Ao Nang all try to make their way over--and one of its unmissable tourist spots. Snack vendors form the vast majority of the market, but there are also stalls selling handicrafts. The seafood is both fresh and cheap, with a basic plate of Thai-style shrimp fried noodles costing just 40 baht.
