Yes, all foreign nationals entering Malaysia in 2026 must complete the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC). Implemented on December 1, 2023, MDAC fully replaced the traditional paper arrival card system and is a mandatory immigration requirement—not a visa. MDAC applies to all entry modes (air, land, sea) and all visitor types, including tourists, business travelers, students, and work pass holders.
Every traveler needs their own MDAC, including infants and young children—group submissions are not available (each person must complete their own form)
Exceptions (no MDAC needed):
- Malaysian citizens and permanent residents
- Transit passengers who remain in the international transit area and do not clear Malaysian immigration
- Diplomats and official government representatives with special entry privileges

You can only submit your MDAC within 72 hours (3 days) of your arrival in Malaysia, including the day of arrival. The official system will not accept submissions made earlier than this window to ensure your information remains current.
Example: If your flight lands in Kuala Lumpur on 1 March, you can submit your MDAC from 28 February onwards.
For stress-free travel, submit your MDAC 1-2 days before arrival—avoid last-minute submissions (e.g., airport check-in) to prevent delays from internet issues or form errors.

- Personal: Passport number, full legal name (exact as passport), date of birth, nationality, gender, international contact number, email address
- Travel: Arrival date, travel mode (air/land/sea), flight/vehicle/ferry number, country of embarkation, intended departure date
- Accommodation: Full Malaysia address (state, city, postcode, street); or hotel name + complete city
- Health: Recent travel history, current health status, and any relevant vaccination information
Note: Use only passport MRZ line spelling/transliteration—no special characters, accents, or nicknames; all letters uppercase for alphanumeric fields.
Step 4: Fill in your details
Enter your personal, travel, accommodation, and health information as prompted by the form—mandatory fields are marked with * for clarity. Answer health declaration questions truthfully—false declarations may result in entry denial or fines.
Step 5: Review and confirm your details
Check every field for typos or mismatches, especially passport number and name—this is the most common cause of submission issues. Once submitted, you cannot edit core personal details (name, passport number, DOB, nationality)—only minor updates (e.g., flight time) are allowed before arrival.
Step 6: Submit and receive PIN code
After reviewing, click Submit. You will immediately receive a PIN code via email—this is essential for accessing your confirmation later.
Step 7: Verify and save your confirmation
Return to the MDAC website and click Check Registration (top right corner). Enter your passport number and PIN code to view, download, or print your confirmation document with a unique QR code. Save the PDF digitally (phone/tablet, offline access recommended) and print a physical copy as a backup—you’ll need this for airline check-in and immigration clearance.

Tips for Entering Malaysia When You Arrive

The location is perfect, right in the heart of the city, making it incredibly convenient to explore everything around. I stayed in Room 1702 on the 17th floor, and the view was absolutely breathtaking.

You can access Pavilion from the neighboring hotel via a skybridge. There's another skybridge that takes you towards the Petronas Towers. The hotel is very clean, and the staff are professional. I highly recommend it. My only minor concern is the lack of sofas in the lobby, making it difficult to relax a bit while waiting for check-in or after check-out. Hi! I had a great time staying here.
Parking
Valet parking is RM15.90. You can either park the car yourself or have the abang help park it for you. You only need to pay once and can enjoy multiple entries during your stay - at least, this was what I was told.
One important thing: please keep the valet receipt properly, as there will be a charge if you lose it.
That said, I may have overlooked this, but it would be really helpful if the hotel could clearly mention that parking is valet-only and costs RM15.90 on the app/booking information.
When we first arrived, we had a bit of trouble figuring out where to park. We saw several valet signs but initially avoided them because we were worried it would be expensive. 😂 Turns out, it was only RM15.90!
I actually had to go to reception to ask about the parking while checking in. Not a big deal, but having this information beforehand would have saved some time.
I also tried calling the hotel before arriving, but the call was answered by a bot and redirected to a human - unfortunately, no one picked up. 😅
Check-in
Check-in was easy. Just fill in the necessary forms and provide your IC. No deposit was required, which was great.
We were welcomed by two really nice front desk staff who made the process smooth.
Room
We got a room on Level 7 with windows. The room was tidy and smelled really good.
The only issue was that one of the plugs in the toilet wasn’t working. Surprisingly, their maintenance guy came to fix it very quickly though! 😂 Appreciate the fast response.
Breakfast
Breakfast was buffet-style with a decent variety. I’d say it’s pretty much what you’d expect from a normal hotel buffet.
BUT THEY HAVE CHEESE OMELETTE. HAHAHAHA. LOVE IT. 🥹❤️
Check-out
Check-out was seamless. We just had to provide the valet receipt to get the car and return the room keys into the box in front of reception.
We were also sent off by two really nice staff members.
Overall
One thing I really appreciated was that the hotel has a WhatsApp service that checks in on you during your stay. I think it’s a really convenient way to reach the hotel if you need anything.
Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff were friendly, the room was comfortable, the service was responsive, and everything was generally smooth.

Location: Excellent—just across the road from Kampung Baru food area, very convenient for foodies.
Check-in: Allowed early check-in at 1:30 PM despite 3 PM standard time due to room availability. Much appreciated.

In-room dining: Nasi Goreng Tamu was good, but sambal prawn was too sweet

The food in the executive lounge was great, with many selections available and unlimited coffee. It was also less crowded during the breakfast buffet. The two staff members, Sir Rahman and Mam Selvi, were very helpful and prompt in assisting us during breakfast. Sir Tafo, who worked on the evening refreshments , was very friendly and pleasant with our special son. I really appreciate him being so patient and accommodating.

The location is absolutely fantastic!
It's close to the station and a shopping mall, so access is great. The Petronas Twin Towers were also within walking distance.
No issues with water pressure in the shower! It had a showerhead with multiple settings, including a rain shower.
The hairdryer had good power too!
There wasn't a large trash can next to the toilet, so I assumed it was okay to flush directly.
I personally didn't mind at all, but you could hear voices and sounds from the next room, so those who are sensitive to noise should be aware.
It was convenient that I could watch YouTube on the TV in the room.
There were many power outlets, but they were type BF, so if you're from a different region, don't forget your adapter!
There were also two USB ports.
It's a hotel I'd love to stay at again if I come back to Malaysia! 😊

Good stay overall. Check-in was smooth, location is convenient and the staff were mostly friendly.
The room was comfortable and clean overall, though the toilet could be cleaner, especially the stains on the grout and walls. Our room was also next to the emergency stairs, so we kept hearing the door bang loudly. We did call to inform them, but it still happened right up until we checked out.
Breakfast was a nice surprise, quite a few choices and everything we tried was good. The gym, pool and rooftop bar are a nice bonus too. The gym is at North, while the pool and rooftop bar are at South, and guests can use both. The pool could use better maintenance though, as we noticed some mould and debris floating in the water.

Convenient location and close to the main attractions, although the roads are very narrow if you’re driving.
The parking information is misleading. The photos show automated/mechanical parking, but the hotel doesn’t actually have it. There are only a few free parking spaces in front of the hotel on a first-come, first-served basis. If they’re full, you’ll need to park at the open car park opposite for RM15 per entry.
The room looked clean at first, but there was quite a bit of dust beside the bed, a pin on bedside (which could be a safety hazard), and some stains on the bedsheet. The bathroom was clean.
Soundproofing is poor, and the hair dryer in my room wasn’t working (though I forgot to inform the staff).

Friendly reception and house keeping team! I really enjoy the room here. The studio room is very spacious, comes with a complete kitchen and washer dryer! Decent size dining table and work desk too. TLDR: Ceylonz is a great hotel, but the provider (Five Senses) is not. Book a different provider if you want to stay at Ceylonz.

Initial room conditions:
When we first entered the room we encountered these things:
- Leftover jacket from the previous guest(?)
- stains on the chairs
- water stains on the wardrobe
- dead ants in the wardrobe
- a flickering light
Service:
Because we chose to stay for 7 nights, we had a 1 free make-up room offered to us which we appreciated. However when we flagged up the issues we found on the first day, they gave us a make-up room on the second day and consumed our free make-up room without our choice. We wanted to use it in the middle of the trip like the 4th day. Because of this we had no toilet paper, tissue box was empty, towels were not replaced.
After the 2nd day, they no longer replied to our texts when we enquired about using the sports lounge, requesting a makeup room, getting more toilet paper. Very bad service.
After their make-up room, they removed the jacket and cleaned the seat stains, but they did not fix the light or clean the dead ants in the wardrobe. We understand fixing a light might not be possible but the ants were easily removable and we did it ourselves after they left. It felt like they were cutting corners as they also did not replace our tissue box, clean the dead ants or clean the water stains on the wardrobe.
Ceylonz:
The hotel comes with

Room:
- the amenities provided are not the same for every room, the last time we came there was a water dispenser and pull-out kitchen, this time there isn't (same five senses at ceylonz, same room type)

- well equipped
- bay window
- the walls are relatively soundproof so you cannot hear other rooms but the door is not and the hallway is very audible from inside the room, we can hear people chatting, checking in, pulling luggages
Bed:
- not soft, hard bed with springs
- pillows and blanket is okay
- uncomfortable bed
We would have given this place a glowing review if they:
- Stuck to their 1 complimentary makeup room offered
- service: replied to our enquiries at all after the 2nd day

Definitely book a Tower View room; then you won't need to go to the rooftop sky bar, and the view is unobstructed. During peak summer, breakfast can get very crowded and you might have to queue, but the food is still quite good. A truly wonderful stay at The Ritz-Carlton! ✨
We had such a comfortable and relaxing stay, and the overall experience made it easy for us to sleep well and feel completely at ease. The room was clean, comfortable and well maintained, and the location was excellent.
What really stood out was the warm hospitality. Every staff member we met greeted us with a genuine smile, which made us feel so welcomed throughout our stay.
We had actually planned to try the breakfast and enjoy the spa facilities at the hotel, but unfortunately, our schedule was too packed and we didn’t get the chance this time. Definitely something to look forward to on our next visit!

Wonderful Anniversary Stay ❤️
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel to celebrate our anniversary. The room was clean, comfortable and well maintained. The bed was comfortable and all the facilities were in good condition.
The hotel is located in a convenient area, making it easy to access nearby attractions, shopping areas and restaurants. The staff were also very friendly, helpful and professional throughout our stay.
I especially loved the anniversary decoration in the room. It was beautifully arranged and made our celebration feel extra special and memorable. We were also pleasantly surprised to receive a complimentary anniversary cake, which was a very thoughtful gesture from the hotel.

We stayed at this hotel a few years ago, and returning this time with our family was such a wonderful surprise. The hotel has been newly renovated, and we were truly in awe of how beautiful everything looked!
The hospitality was exceptional, the food was great, and the location made it easy to access the malls nearby. We especially recommend staying in the Club Premium rooms, where you can enjoy a more private breakfast setting and refreshments served at the clubhouse.
Every staff member was incredibly friendly, always smiling and greeting us warmly. We genuinely felt so welcomed throughout our stay.

This is the best hotel in all of Kuala Lumpur!!! My husband, baby, and I stayed here, and these were the best accommodations in the entire city. We had already tried 5 different apartments in Kuala Lumpur by then, and nothing felt right. The cleanliness was perfect, and the views were magnificent – the best I've ever seen in my life. The staff was top-notch. They very quickly helped resolve an issue with the induction hob (the large burner wasn't working) and even provided a brand new small saucepan so I could cook for my baby. The facilities are complete and the hygiene is good. The environment is quiet, and it's right next to Shaw Parade. You can find delicious bak kut teh there. The Durian SS2 stall there is also more affordable and tastier than the ones in the city center, and they even gave us lots of mangosteens and rambutans, which were perfect to cleanse the palate. The Twin Towers are a 30-minute walk away, and along the way, there are durian stations that are more affordable and offer more varieties than the durian shops near the Twin Towers. Both durian shops, one large and one small, had Black Thorn and Red Prawn durians with 6 pods each. We were so full from the Black Thorn, and the Red Prawn, though smaller, was also very plump and just right for two people. The poolside bar had a great ambiance too.FromCAD 75

Our room was immaculate, featuring pristine white walls and a very clean bathroom, with a wonderful view overlooking the Petronas Twin Towers. Oh my goodness! We went straight to the hotel after landing in Kuala Lumpur. We arrived four hours before the 3 PM check-in time, but the hotel welcomed us in the lobby right away. The bellboy was so cute and strong, which really made us feel warm and welcomed upon our arrival. When we got to the 53rd floor, the front desk found two Chinese-speaking staff members to assist us, and they were even a supervisor and a subordinate! It was truly touching. They helped us store our luggage, showed us to the restrooms, and let us choose an aromatherapy scent while offering iced tea and snacks. The whole process was polite, thoughtful, and gentle.
When we checked into our room in the afternoon, we couldn't have been happier. It had a bathtub, double sinks, a smart toilet, a king-sized bed, a large sofa, and a spacious shower. In the afternoon, someone even came to turn down the bed and light an aromatherapy diffuser. The breakfast was incredibly exquisite – a combination of buffet and à la carte! Absolutely delicious! The hotel's location is superb, connected to Pavilion via a skybridge, so we didn't have to worry about sun or rain when going in and out. It truly maximized our sense of happiness and relaxation during the trip! Most importantly, we had an unobstructed view of the Petronas Twin Towers and all of Kuala Lumpur. Jalan Alor was right behind Pavilion; it's such a prime location! I highly, highly recommend Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur!FromCAD 432

The rooms were comfortable, and well maintained. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help whenever I needed anything. The location was convenient and made it easy to get around and explore the area. Overall, the hotel offered great value for money.
The only downside was that my room had a connecting door. If you’re unlucky enough to have noisy neighbors, you can hear quite a bit, which made it difficult to relax at times. Other than that, I had a really nice stay and had so much fun seeing the little geckos wandering around 😂FromCAD 23
