The location of the hotel is very good, just in the center of Auckland, it is very convenient to go everywhere. The Sky Tower and the Harbor Bridge can all be reached on foot. The overall hotel is a bit old, but it is well maintained. Especially worthy of praise is their breakfast, which is delicious.

I am travelling with family with kids and elderly. The grand is probably the best central location that you can find in Auckland if you are taking public transport. The pickup and dropoff for Skybus to Auckland airport is a 5 min walk away. The surrounding has plenty of restaurants including japanese & Chinese food. Facilities wise it has a gym and a heated swimming pool which the kids enjoy. Room is clean & spacious. Hotel price wise is on a high but weighing all the plus points, I will book it again for all the reasons above.

The hotel lobby is nice, but the rooms are old. The air conditioner was broken when I stayed there a few days ago. Although the hotel provided a hair dryer and a vertical air conditioner, the noise was too loud and affected my rest! I don't recommend staying there at the moment

The receptionists Camila, Chloe and Henry were very warm, friendly and helpful. The Executive Lounge was well presented and provided adequate drinks and snacks. The bedroom was spacious and the breakfast had various options. The chef who took the orders was friendly and efficient. The swimming pool was well maintained, however the bathrooms in the change room appeared to be not adequately maintained and cleaned.

The hotel is nearby the International terminal, just 2 mins walk, perfect for early flight tourist like me. They have a bellboy to deliver your baggages to your room, and did not ask for tips. I like the room, just be aware that minibar is chargeable. The water pressure is quite bad when shower. Except for these, all other things are great.

Overall is great, but still feel the whole hotel a little old, and one point: we asked the receptionist for shaver and toothbrush, he said all in the room, but actually there’s nothing. We need to phone service team for several times ( we only asked one thing first cause we believed there are everything except that one, then we found others were not there……), really inconvenient. The food is great, and the guy there is very friendly!

We have always enjoyed staying at QT Museum Hotel. We were given the option to upgrade to a Seaview room on the top floor with an additional charge. Seeing it is a more quiet room compared to my booking request on the 1st floor near road traffic and rubbish bin area, I paid the extra for the upgrade per night for 2 nights. Our room was not serviced well the following day. Rubbish bin in the bathroom being the only one was not emptied. The Bath and Shower gel was not replenished, we had to asked for it to be refilled. the cushions on the bed was still on the floor from the night before, the ironing board was still left out - I did not put it back as the iron was still very hot after ironing my dress for my conference that morning. The gym facilities was very tired with all towels being used and the used towels bin was overflowing. I was very disappointed with my stay this trip, using shortage of staff since Covid is a very old excuse now. Systems and procedures should be in placed by management to ensure the 5 star ratings is upheld. No point upselling or selling more rooms if they cannot keep customers happy to come back again. This was not only my opinion but that of my colleagues. very disappointing!

The location of the hotel is very good, in the city center, next to the Parliament Building, not far from the ferry, the room is spacious and clean, with kitchen facilities similar to an apartment, very suitable for family travel. The breakfast has fewer types than Hilton, but the quality is okay, 35nzd is half price for a child (my family is 3 and a half years old), and the hotel helps with parking for 40nzd, which is still very convenient. After all, the hotels in Wellington are basically not easy to park, after all, the city center is very expensive. The view from the room is good, there is a green area outside the window, which is the local cemetery (the locals don't mind these, it's very similar to Japan), and I personally don't think it matters, after all, the environment is very good.

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a great experience. The location is excellent—right near the town center, which made it very convenient for dining and shopping. Despite being so close to everything, the hotel was quiet and comfortable, providing a perfect place to relax after a busy day. The hotel itself was very clean and well looked after, with all the facilities you’d expect for a comfortable stay.

First of all, thank you Sofitel Wellington for the good service provided, and thank you Ctrip for the good service, which made the guests have a satisfactory stay experience. Then, I wish Sofitel Wellington and its staff: happiness! Happiness! Prosperity! I wish Ctrip and its staff: happiness! Happiness! Prosperity! The specific comments are as follows: 1. Location, Sofitel Wellington Hotel is located in the center of the capital of New Zealand, near the Parliament Building, near the sightseeing train, and opposite the hotel is the five-star Bolton Hotel. 2. Star rating, from the hardware facilities, with the same price of five-star, the so-called 5⭐ star, is not satisfactory. Why, there is no swimming pool, no garden, and no free parking lot, so parking is a problem. Ctrip marked the hotel as valet parking. From the software service, the attitude is very good, but there is no foreign language dialogue service, here refers to ☞ no Chinese service, so it is basically enough for 5⭐ stars. 3. Breakfast, basically European style with French 🇫🇷 as the main style. The restaurant is small, but the hygiene, service, hot processing, on-site production, etc. are quite good. 4. The room is clean and tidy, the bed is comfortable, there is a small refrigerator and a ”minibar”, a desk, wifi, murals, bedside tables, wardrobes, coffee machines, hair dryers, etc. The hotel will not proactively provide disposable toothbrushes and bottled water, but guests can ask for them separately. 5. During Easter, the hotel hung a chocolate cookie made by the hotel outside the guest room door as a gift to the guests, which was quite warm. In addition, the hotel has a very small lounge and a very small gym. Overall, it can get 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars, thank you! Firstly, I would like to express my gratitude to Sofitel Wellington for providing excellent service, as well as Ctrip for providing excellent service and providing guests with a satisfactory stay experience. Great location. Though on my first night I noticed no-one was in the bottom bunk underneath me so I asked at reception if I could swap beds (it was a 2 bed room). She told me that there were no other bottom beds available so I assumed that someone would be checking in to my room either the same night or next night. When I checked out 2 days later there had still not been anyone in the room so I’m unsure why they couldn’t accommodate the switch. Also there was only 2 showers available for a whole floor of rooms

Stayed her for a work on 5 August 2022 Good hotel in a handy central location. Good reception area, staff were friendly and welcoming. Not a modern hotel by any means but a classic feel to it. Was assigned a wheelchair accessible room 507, Room was a small queen room that was clean and well appointed. Being a disability accessible room, the bathroom was huge and essentially a wet-room without a bath. Not that I wanted one, but you would expect to see one, normally. Nearly slipped in the shower as I didn't find the rubber grip mat until after my shower as it was under the towels on the towel rail, where I didn't see it, rather than in the shower on the hand rail where I would. Good to see they have done away with the plastic bottles for Had an internal room facing another hotel block without a view, but this meant it was quiet. Wellington can get noisy on a Friday night but I slept well. Check out took maybe 10 seconds. Would stay again. Damon

How much does it cost for food when traveling to New Zealand

When it comes to food and dining in New Zealand, the cost can vary widely depending on several factors. The type of food, the restaurant's location, and the level of formality or luxury can all impact the price you pay for a meal.

  • Street food or fast food: around 10-15 NZD (6-9 USD) per meal.
  • Casual dining or local restaurants: around 20-40 NZD (12-24 USD) per meal.
