  • In smaller towns and cities, the hotel prices are generally lower. For example, in Rotorua, a popular tourist destination known for its geothermal activity, the average cost range of a mid-range hotel room is around 80-150 NZD (55-100 USD) per night, while the average cost range of a luxury hotel room is around 200-300 NZD (135-200 USD) per night. In Queenstown, a resort town in the South Island, the average cost range of a mid-range hotel room is around 120-250 NZD (80-170 USD) per night, while the average cost range of a luxury hotel room is around 300-500 NZD (200-340 USD) per night.

There is basically nothing to complain about in terms of facilities, hygiene, environment and service, which is in line with Hilton standards. We came here for the sea view of the pier, and we were not disappointed. It is less than 5 minutes' walk to the pier of fuller360 to Waiheke Island, which is super convenient for taking a boat. Fish restaurant is at the end and has a view of the sea on both sides. The room is clean, spacious and comfortable. Although it is close to the pier, it doesn't feel noisy.

Such a beautifully decorated hotel ,very classy and comfortable. The staff stood out as so welcoming and helpful ,making you feel like real guests in their home. The evening meal was terrific beautifully presented as was the breakfast. The beautiful tea sets really made an impact ,also there in the room. The room wasn’t the normal ,sterile room you expect ,it was cosy and comfortable with a good sized bathroom. Would love to return soon.

I like the place and by the name itself it’s already a very clean and stylish as well as first class. But, unfortunately when we came to the hotel our rooms not ready yet and we have to wait for more than an hour. We booked the hotel for a long time and we checked in late but the hotel personnel did not inform us beforehand that our rooms not yet ready which is really inconvenient. The other thing my son complained about is that there ‘s no microwave where we can heat the baby food or milk. We’ve been to other hotels before and microwave’s included in the rooms. Probably it’s our negligence too for not checking before booking the rooms. But hope in the future we expect that if we book the rooms before hand at least the staff will inform us if it’s not yet ready so we can plan ahead and not rush to check in.

Stayed 3 nights in the Junior Suite. I found that the hotel's toiletries are Hermes's, which is different from the water view room I stayed last time. The suite has too many windows, and the sun shades have to be pulled up or down, which is too much work. The hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast one day also chose the cafe next to the hotel, simple, clean and fast.

We had a delicious lunch here to celebrate a birthday. It serves Asian fusion, and as the chef is Korean, I believe it has a lot of delicious Korean inspired dishes. We had the Grilled Prawns, Fried Chicken and Meat Balls. All served beautifully, the tastes a delicious explosion of flavors in the mouth, and so yummy, I could have kept on eating. The views are enormous!! So lovely - soaking up the sun, being served by a lovely friendly chatty waitress, and eating delicious food, with amazing views and eating yummy food with great company. We will be back.

We were booked in due to Air New Zealand flight delay resulting in a missed connection. So arrived slightly stressed and irate but the lady on reception, Edith? and consierge were friendly and helpful which helped us feel relaxed. Can't speak highly enough of the staff at the Pullman, from first step in toa kast step out...so friendly and attentive. The hotel is new and is stunning, great views from the restaraunt where the food itself was lovely. The room was lovely - maybe a sink in the toilet (or a wet wipe freshener on the wall) would have been better designing as you need to leave the loo to go in the shower room to wash your hands. That aside the room was perfect. Everywhere is so spacious and attention to detail (less the loo!) is of very high standard.

The resort is located by the sea and has a beautiful surroundings. From the room, you can see the sea and the black beach. The rooms are spacious, tall and comfortable, with a fully equipped kitchen and washing machine. Although breakfast was included, I went to dinner at nine o'clock and there was almost nothing, and no more food such as juice yogurt, no one cleaned the table, so I stopped going to breakfast the next day. The service for dinner was very good.

Stayed here about 8 years ago on a trip to Auckland so thought we’d try again as it was a nice stay. This time we stayed in a 2 bedroom unit which had a small lounge area, table and chairs and a kitchenette. Once again a pleasant enough stay but there have been little improvements so it is getting a little aged. The beds especially were too soft and definitely need replacing. It was however a nice enough stay. Quiet room and a very friendly and helpful gentleman who was at front desk. He was even kind enough to try to find us a nice recommendation for dinner and allowed us to use his computer and printer to do our online check in for the airport.

We stayed here for a couple of weeks and it suited us well as an apart’hotel. It was pleasantly spacious and had all the equipment needed for preparing meals: fridge/freezer, a 4 ring hob, cooker, microwave, utensils, crockery, cutlery. There’s also a washing machine and tumble dryer, laundry rack, iron and ironing board (but you shouldn’t put the laundry rack on the terrace). Its location, 5 minutes walk across from the Botany shopping centre (and bus interchange), is great if you don’t have a car, but there’s also a dedicated parking place (and we were able to plug in our EV through the window). The swimming pool was nice as we were there during a hot spell, but unfortunately it wasn’t open some days because of technical issues. The complex also has a gym, tennis court and barbecue and playground: basically it covers every wish for short or long term residents – and compared to other accommodation in Auckland it wasn’t crazily expensive compared to other places for the dates we booked. I appreciated the comfortable king size bed. The manageress was very friendly and helpful with a few little issues we had.

Great vibe, great space. A nice oasis that is close enough to walk to piha beaches but is also close enough to walk to several nice hikes inland, including one to the very pretty Kitekite falls. Big kitchen and lounge and lots of outdoor seating and eating space to take advantage of their idyllic private garden. Geoff is a laid back and unobtrusive host but he's right there if you need anything. The tips input box is far too short so I'll include my tip here: Mind if you're driving to Piha from Auckland close to sunset. There's a place about 5-10 minutes East of piha where the road heads directly towards the sun and if the sun is low in the sky, about 1/2 hour before sunset, you come around a corner and can be absolutely blinded due to the low angle of the sun. You can't see anything at all and if you're not expecting it and traveling at speed you must stop dead in your tracks to avoid straying into oncoming traffic or going off the road. And if you're going the other way at this time of day watch for this spot because oncoming traffic could easily veer into your lane with the Sun right in their eyes.

We have always enjoyed staying at QT Museum Hotel. We were given the option to upgrade to a Seaview room on the top floor with an additional charge. Seeing it is a more quiet room compared to my booking request on the 1st floor near road traffic and rubbish bin area, I paid the extra for the upgrade per night for 2 nights. Our room was not serviced well the following day. Rubbish bin in the bathroom being the only one was not emptied. The Bath and Shower gel was not replenished, we had to asked for it to be refilled. the cushions on the bed was still on the floor from the night before, the ironing board was still left out - I did not put it back as the iron was still very hot after ironing my dress for my conference that morning. The gym facilities was very tired with all towels being used and the used towels bin was overflowing. I was very disappointed with my stay this trip, using shortage of staff since Covid is a very old excuse now. Systems and procedures should be in placed by management to ensure the 5 star ratings is upheld. No point upselling or selling more rooms if they cannot keep customers happy to come back again. This was not only my opinion but that of my colleagues. very disappointing!

The location of the hotel is very good, in the city center, next to the Parliament Building, not far from the ferry, the room is spacious and clean, with kitchen facilities similar to an apartment, very suitable for family travel. The breakfast has fewer types than Hilton, but the quality is okay, 35nzd is half price for a child (my family is 3 and a half years old), and the hotel helps with parking for 40nzd, which is still very convenient. After all, the hotels in Wellington are basically not easy to park, after all, the city center is very expensive. The view from the room is good, there is a green area outside the window, which is the local cemetery (the locals don't mind these, it's very similar to Japan), and I personally don't think it matters, after all, the environment is very good.

We arrived here very early as we had been booked on an early flight from Blenheim. we left our luggage and spent the day visiting various places . By three o'clock, when we had been told to come back, we were a bit tired after the early start and lots of walking so were rather dismayed to hear our room wasn't ready. Throughout our three week tour in NZ we heard a lot about staff shortages in the hospitality sector. The receptionist asked housekeeping if they could prioritise our room and about 45 mins later we were able to go up. As compensation for the delay we were given two bottles of wine and some chocolate. We appreciated the gesture although we had said we understood the problems . Our apartment had two bedrooms, one ensuite and the other with a bathroom across the hall. The kitchen was well equipped and we were pleased to have a washing machine and tumble dryer. There is a steep slope up to the entrance to this place which may cause difficulties for some. It is very conveniently located for restaurants, shops and attractions. The harbour area is only a 15 to 20 minute walk away, depending on mobility levels. A good base for exploring Wellington.

Just a small window looking at a blind wall. Lights in the room need to be on during the day. Bathroom very strange. The sink is so small, more a sink for a washroom. Mirror not above the sink. Shower has a curtain. Bathroom is completely open so when you are in bed you can see everything. It is very difficult to call this a 4 star hotel... Maybe rooms on upper floors are better. When we complained about our room, we were told that the hotel was full. However, we booked way in advance..months before.

Firstly, I would like to express my gratitude to Sofitel Wellington for providing excellent service, as well as Ctrip for providing excellent service and providing guests with a satisfactory stay experience. Next, I wish Sofitel Wellington and its staff: happiness and happiness! Happy! Abundant financial resources! Wishing Ctrip and its staff happiness and happiness! Happy! Abundant financial resources! The specific comments are as follows: 1. Location: The Sofitel Wellington Hotel is located in the center of the New Zealand capital, near the Parliament Building and the sightseeing train. Opposite the hotel is the five-star Bolton Hotel. 2. Star rating, from the perspective of hardware facilities and five stars at the same price, the so-called 5 ⭐ Star, not satisfactory. Why? With no swimming pool, no garden, and no free parking lot, parking is a problem. Ctrip has indicated that hotels can park cars for guests. From the perspective of software services, the attitude is very good, but there is no foreign language dialogue service. Here, it means that there is no Chinese language service, so it is basically enough ⭐ Star rating. 3. Breakfast, basically in France 🇫🇷 A predominantly European style. The restaurant is small, but the hygiene, service, hot working and on-site production are very good. 4. The room is clean, the bed is comfortable, there are small refrigerators and ”mini bars”, there are desks, wifi, murals, bedside cabinets, wardrobes, coffee machines, hair dryers, etc. The hotel will not actively provide disposable dental supplies and bottled water, but guests can ask for them separately. During Easter, the hotel hung a homemade chocolate biscuit outside the guest room door as a gift, which was quite warm. In addition, the hotel has a small lounge and a small gym. Overall, you can obtain 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Star review, thank you!

In Wellington for a funeral unfortunately and our first visit to Movenpick Wgtn. From check in to to check out this hotel has everything nailed. The staff are extremely well- trained being friendly, approachable and professional. The upgraded decor is classy. I could not find fault at all. I particularly want to compliment our check-in guy. He delivered the best check in we have ever experienced in the world. Thank you, we will be back.

This hostel is right in the city center, there is a grocery store across the road, and it is a few minutes walk to the Papa Museum. The whole hostel and our room were very clean. We were impressed with the fully equipped kitchen and bathroom, and we felt great with a hairdryer and a straight hair stick in the ladies bathroom. The staff was friendly and you could still have a very affordable breakfast at the hostel. When you are in Wellington, we definitely recommend you to stay at this hotel.

The camper van site here is really just the car park to the motel. There are some facilities available, but they are fairly basic, with a strange control for the showers outside the bathroom. The site is just off a major road so relatively noisy even at night, but there is a shared kitchen and the facilities are clean and working. There are two self-service laundries which work well. Driving into Wellington from here could be tricky, and parking a camper van in the city even more so. But there is a bus service from the end of the road right into the city centre, which was great and took around 20 minutes. We chose it because it seemed to be about the nearest site to the city and the location was OK. There's not too much more to recommend it.

My stay was disgusting and the receptionist (manager) was rude, mean, dismissive and argumentative. She has no empathy, doesn't care, she acted like I was inconveniencing her by just checking in and checking out. She would stare at me with utter distain. No ounce of customer service skills. Then had the audacity to call me rude and told me to get people skills. I was merely reacting to her being nasty and my taking money. She has no professionalism what so ever constantly acts like she is annoyed. She acted like she owned me and was trying to be my mummy She yelled at me and stole my money. The accommodation is disgusting, I dont even know where to start Upon arrival I thought there was no one there, I was left standing there. I didn't realise the receptionist was in the office ignoring me until a lady with a duffle bag went into the office and I asked the lady if someone was there to which she said yes. So I went to pop head in to say hello and the receptionist set on me growling at me and being nasty telling me to get and go away. She was rude and treated me like a criminal during check in. The room was impossible to find but I found it eventually. She heartless and inconsiderate. It's not a hotel it's a hostel Upon check out the receptionist acted like she was pissed off that I wanted to check out. She growled me because I touched the reception desk, there was some old tape hanging off and I kinda played with it and she just kept growling me and yelling at me saying I was ripping it when I wasn't and she wouldn't let me speak or shut up. I had to yell over her to check me out. She refused to give my money back because there was a hair dye transfer from me bright red hair on a towel. I explained the dye is water soluble and it will wash out. Never mind that my makeup and mascara were on the towels. She staring yelling at me and would only give me 80 dollars in the end. She only gave it to me because I argued with her she was going to take the whole 100. I had folded the towels, emptied the rubbish wipes the floors. She had to unfold the towels like literally look through a customer's washing. She was looking for a reason not to give my money back. When I was trying to explain the room situation she yelled at me and talked over me I was just trying to have a discussion about the issues with the accommodation and she yelled at me and growled at me for not complaining sooner. I can actually raise an issue whenever I please. The fridge leaked in the middle of the night and I used a towel to clean that up. Out of courtesy I placed a towel on a pillow to sleep to avoid hair dye transfer. The room was gross the shared toilet and bathroom were gross there was urine on the underside of the toilets. The shared kitchen area was gross There's like a ventilation system above the bed covered with dust, grime and build up which fell on me and the bed so I pulled it away. No mirrors! The draws and furniture are so old and tatty and smell bad.

Checked in late from a delayed flight. Reception was pleasant and handled our arrival professionally. Took a bit longer due to slow computer but he was always updating us on progress and was apologetic. Room was great. Full amenities and had four pillows in our king size bed! All fluffy and comfy. Quite room and since we arrived late, we got a check out extension which was really really nice. Location is center and walkable distance to many shops and restaurants. Great location and very friendly and helpful staff. Check in was a breeze, and we were allocated a room as requested, in a quiet zone of the hotel. Although on a steep hill, the elevator down the street level was a bonus. After a long day, we used the room service and can highly recommend the Haloumi Burger for something different. But please have a Club Sandwich on the menu in the future. The bed was terrific and we had a great sleep. Breakfast (included in our room tariff) was great. A take away container of fresh fruit offered was a nice bonus. Will I/We stay here again? Yes. Sure will.

Stayed her for a work on 5 August 2022 Good hotel in a handy central location. Good reception area, staff were friendly and welcoming. Not a modern hotel by any means but a classic feel to it. Was assigned a wheelchair accessible room 507, Room was a small queen room that was clean and well appointed. Being a disability accessible room, the bathroom was huge and essentially a wet-room without a bath. Not that I wanted one, but you would expect to see one, normally. Nearly slipped in the shower as I didn't find the rubber grip mat until after my shower as it was under the towels on the towel rail, where I didn't see it, rather than in the shower on the hand rail where I would. Good to see they have done away with the plastic bottles for Had an internal room facing another hotel block without a view, but this meant it was quiet. Wellington can get noisy on a Friday night but I slept well. Check out took maybe 10 seconds. Would stay again. Damon

My partner and I stayed overnight in room 316 last night. We arrived and was quickly given our key card. The lady at the desk seemed nice enough. We got to the third floor and noticed the carpet in the hallway was filthy and lumpy. We felt like we would trip over! Entering the room, the linens were clean and the room had obviously had a 5 minute clean, but parts that were missed bothered us the most. On the textured ceiling, there was a thick layer of dust, so thick in fact, that it looked like dust bunnies were about to fall off, as shown in the photo. This made for an uneasy sleep, as it seemed very unhygenic. Splatters above the toilet and on the mirror in the bathroom were also noticed, as well as black spots from the ceiling due to mould. Wifi and the TV worked fine, but the heating element in our jug had turned black on the inside, and black bits were showing in our cups, so tea was out of the question. The next morning we had breakfast. This was the best part of our stay. Good options and plenty of food. Overall 2 stars. For this price, you'd expect better.

My daughter said that the hotel we booked this time is the favorite, the surrounding environment is beautiful, quiet, very close to the city and tourist attractions. Go to the museum, the Capitol is more than 20 minutes walk. Mount Victoria is just behind the hotel and it is 1200 meters walk. Standing on the top of the mountain, you can enjoy a 360-degree view of Wellington and the scenery is beautiful. Going to Cuba Street, convenience stores, and supermarkets are very convenient. Because we don't have a car and don't want to take the bus, it is very convenient to choose here. I can walk to any attraction. The boss is very warm and kind. He said, ”He and the Chinese have worked together for ten years, just like a family.” What moved the words, he is very kind and friendly to the Chinese, and he gives it daily. We have prepared a free breakfast, we have to stay here for ten days, my daughter likes it very much, safe and hygienic. The kitchen in the restaurant can also be used free of charge. You can buy food and cook for yourself. It is a good place to take your children to travel. When I first came to check in, we took out the documents and showed them to the boss. He said cheerfully, ”No need to look, I know who you are,”. I think he may be a Chinese character with the Chinese for a long time. You don't need to go through any formalities to stay here, it's as simple as going home. We also choose here for the next vacation.
