The experience was absolutely fantastic. A special shout-out to the hotel for the thoughtful wristband room keys for the kids; they were absolutely thrilled throughout our three-night stay. The spacious 1.45-meter twin beds were incredibly comfortable. The balcony was perfect for enjoying the view and convenient for drying clothes. Kids playing in the water also had plenty of shade, and the pool staying open until 10 PM was a huge bonus – the children had a blast and the water was spotless. The hotel is easy to find and conveniently located very close to Xiamen Station, about a 15-minute taxi ride away. Right next door, there's Tianhong Shopping Mall, featuring a Starbucks, Luckin Coffee, and delicious bakeries on its first floor. It's a fantastic location overall, with many excellent local restaurants and specialty shops nearby. The staff were all very friendly. We had also stayed at this hotel last summer. Our child particularly loved the LOFT-style bed with its steps; there's a tatami bed perfect for lounging, and the upper level features a super comfortable mattress and a cozy relaxation area. The bed felt very sturdy, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep, and the lighting design was also well thought out. The room was very good, clean and tidy. We traveled with friends. The toiletries were also very high-quality. We booked a twin bed room so that we could not disturb each other. The waiter was very nice. Thank you Xiaolei and Xiaoqi (seems to be this name) for helping us carry our luggage. In the hot summer, Gulangyu prohibits all modes of travel with wheels, and you can only rely on your legs.

The exterior environment has been re-designed and renovated this year. The landscape is more beautiful and the layout is more reasonable after the renovation.

The water flow from the hot tub was slow and had to be drained in advance. We booked a two-bedroom hot spring suite, which was incredibly spacious for our family of four. The room featured a full smart home system; we could control the curtains and lights with just a voice command, which was a real game-changer when looking after the kids! My favorite part was the suite's private hot spring area ✨. After a day of exploring, a soak with the kids was pure bliss. They were absolutely overjoyed, splashing around, and I felt completely relaxed. We then snuggled into the super soft bedding, and the kids fell asleep instantly, giving this tired mom a much-needed break!
The guesthouse's 'fairy-tale photo ops' were simply spectacular! Both the ground floor and the rooftop were decked out with popular Instagrammable scenes – swings, flower walls, 'Monet Garden'-style backdrops... it felt like stepping into a fairy tale, and every casual snap turned into a stunning photo 📸. What's more, there was a hidden kids' play area on the ground floor, complete with slides, a mini-kitchen, and more. Our little ones had an absolute blast in there, completely absorbed for hours, not even looking for me! I seized the opportunity to visit the various photo spots myself. It was fantastic – I got to keep the kids entertained AND capture some beautiful memories!
The location was also fantastic! Nestled between the mountains and the sea, the guesthouse was just a short walk to the beach. The kids had a wonderful time playing in the sand and collecting seashells. It's also conveniently close to popular Xiamen attractions like Zengcuo'an and Zhongshan Road, making it super easy to go out and explore the local food scene.
The service was incredibly attentive. The front desk staff and housekeepers noticed we had young children and proactively offered to help with our luggage and recommended family-friendly routes. The rooftop cafe was another highlight, offering afternoon tea with breathtaking mountain and sea views. It was so wonderfully relaxing to unwind there after the kids had tired themselves out from playing ☕.

I specially chose a room that could watch the sunrise, and I woke up without the alarm clock ringing. Lie on the balcony table, waited for half an hour, watching the sun jump out of the mountain, dyeing the sea orange, even the waves with Phnom Penh. After breakfast, I strolled to Pangui Tower. The view was super good. The telescope on the side could see the big words of Golden Gate, ”Three People'sism, Unification China”. The trail was like ribbons wrapped in the mountain. The only negative point of the experience was the room itself. We reserved as Superior King room, for 514元 (714元 with breakfast for two). The King Room only had a Queen bed. The wallpaper was peeling, the carpets felt old and a little dirty. And the electrical outlets were VERY inconvenient. Only one outlet on the whole bedside wall and it was pretty far away from the bed. So I gave that one to my girlfriend for her phone and I had to plug my phone in on the other side of the room on the desk. I know it’s an old hotel but it’s time to update and renovate the rooms. For the price we paid, the room felt like a bit of a disappointment.
Overall it was a very pleasant experience and the hotel itself is beautiful and in a great location. Just the room left a little to be desired. It was nice to experience such an iconic Xiamen institution but for us, in the future, we’ll stay somewhere else.FromPLN 229

The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic, super convenient. It's right next to Bailuzhou Park, and the view from the window is simply stunning! With Christmas just around the corner, the hotel lobby is filled with a giant Christmas tree and various festive decorations, creating a wonderful holiday atmosphere and perfect for photos!
The hotel environment is very clean, and the room was cozy, spotless, and soundproofed, ensuring a great night's sleep. The breakfast spread was extensive, offering Chinese, Western, and local specialties! Everything tasted delicious~

As the hotel is located a bit off the main road, it would be helpful if they had highlighted me on the address to input for transport drop off. The didi driver claimed to have dropped me at the location (45 Shengping Road) and I had to scramble a bit to locate the hotel. Do note to use 47 Shengping Road (Mudita Hotel) instead.
Hotel amenities are sufficient for use. The hotel gives off a very traditional and chill vibe, and provided better quality toiletries.
Overall a good stay but I’ll consider other options (too many in the district) for my next trip to Xiamen City.

When we arrived, the little brother arranged for a car to pick us up. There's even a swimming pool, which the kids must have loved! 😀😀 The hotel owner was very welcoming and helpful in recommending nearby family-friendly attractions. The smart toilet and projector in the room were also a bonus. Cuddling up in bed with the family to watch a movie at night was incredibly cozy.
