Ottawa Hotels with Bars

Booked this hotel last minute as we had to stay one extra night in the city and it was really amazing! This is a hotel I would definitely go back! The lady at the counter was extremely nice and she spoke Portuguese! She was really happy to be able to speak with us in Portuguese and we were happy she spoke Portuguese! The hotel location is really good, downtown near the parliament, and the room was amazing! Really big and spacious studio with a kitchen and a living room. Bed was really comfortable but the sofa bed was not that good (as in all hotels). Toilet was big and had all the amenities. Breakfast was good and had eggs, bacon, fruits, cereals, fresh waffles, chia pudding, bread, … They have private parking at an extra fee but the entrance is really narrow. There’s also street parking around at a fee.

Located at a very good location. Walking distance to Byward Market, Parliament Hill, Rideau Shopping Centre, Notre Dam Cathedral Basilica. Do note that kettle and bedroom slippers are on a request basis. Chinese restaurant-Peking Duck, has nice food and is popular with locals. Sammi & Soupe is popular for xiao long baos and fried dumplings. Keg Steakhouse serves good steak with a nice ambience. Overall, it's a positive experience.

We had a wonderful stay at this property! It’s conveniently located near the Ottawa airport and downtown, and if you’re looking to unwind after meetings or conferences, there’s a casino on-site. Our room was super clean and the beds were incredibly comfortable.

I went to see the tulip festival, and the hotel was not far from the festival venue (a 10-minute drive) and about a 10-minute walk to the Parliament House, which made it convenient for travel. It was great that there was a swimming pool, so I could spend quality evening time with my kids.

The service was great, the staff would send you a welcome text message and u could simply ask or inquiry any needs via text. I like that efficient and effective service. Besides, their breakfast bundle was worth trying. You can feel the kitchen staff prepared all food full of passion and very considerate in thinking in customers’ shoes.

Where to begin... first of all, when I made this booking, there was no mention whatsoever of HEAVY DUTY CONSTRUCTION beginning every day at 7 a.m. Naturally upon checking in, I'm informed that there is intense construction happening right next door. And yes, it was brutal. I also SPECIFICALLY booked this hotel because there was an option to reserve now, pay at the hotel. Here are some direct quotes from my booking confirmation email: ”You'll need to pay upon check-in at Andaz Ottawa Byward Market, by Hyatt,” ”Your payment will be handled by Andaz Ottawa Byward Market, by Hyatt,” and ”Pay at Hotel.” Sure enough, I get there, and the money's already been taken out of my credit card and I owe nothing to the hotel upon check-in. (This matters for reimbursement purposes at the company I work for.) Lastly, I was told when I checked in that housekeeping would be visiting every third day -- that was fine by me. But the very first day, I come back to my room after a long day and someone's been there, replacing towels, removing the minimal garbage in there, etc., which I was not at all prepared for given that I was advised the opposite. It made me extremely uncomfortable because all of my personal effects were left throughout the room, not expecting housekeeping given that I was advised no housekeeping would be coming until the third day. I'll be honest, that creeped me out as someone travelling alone. The staff were apologetic but I didn't find their explanation at all sufficient. (The housekeeping manager and front desk attendant completely contradicted each other.) Overall, such a chaotic stay. Oh, and, the heat in my room didn't work. Had to request a space heater... I mean, c'mon.

Breakfast wasn't a buffet; you had to order à la carte from the back. The breakfast area was tiny, and there were only one or two staff members responsible for seating, taking orders, clearing tables, and serving food. We waited over half an hour.

A particularly good check-in experience. The front desk is friendly. They can cook, which solves the embarrassment of not being able to find food on Christmas Eve. The air conditioner in the room is a bit loud. This is the only drawback.

Great place to stay nice & clean not far from downtown . Private parking and room for 3 people was big with a big kitchen. I definitely recommend . Price is also affordable.

Pros: a parking lot with sufficient space (no need to book in advance). A shopping mall St Laurent is nearby. The breakfast is ok. There are 2 sockets and 2 USB-A outlet on each side of the bed. The staff are friendly in general. Cons: A bit far away from the tourist attractions downtown (around 10 minutes drive). The coffee from the in-room coffee machine was so-so. The air-conditioner was quite noisy. The TV in my room couldn't be turned off (It went off automatically after no-signal for a while anyway). There were some paper cups for coffee but no other glass / cups in the whole room even for brushing teeth so I had to use paper cups for brushing teeth (Is it considered environmental friendly?)
