Scenic Hotels in Shanghai

"I've stayed at the Grand Hyatt Jin Mao multiple times, and I truly love this hotel in Lujiazui! Even though it's an older hotel that's been open for many years, the rooms are exceptionally well-maintained and preserved; you can't see any signs of aging! The room amenities are comprehensive, and both the bedding and toiletries are excellent. The bath products are Balmain, which are really good! This time, Ivy, the guest experience ambassador at Jin Mao, proactively contacted me before my check-in to ask about my preferences and even upgraded me to a Club River View room. I'm so grateful for her thoughtful and meticulous service! The room directly faces the Lujiazui Financial Center, and with the river view, you can clearly see the Oriental Pearl Tower. Both the night view and the daytime scenery are absolutely stunning! The Executive Lounge's afternoon tea starts at noon, and while the selection isn't huge, the evening Happy Hour is truly fantastic. The food is abundant and delicious, and it lasts a long time, from 5 PM to 8 PM! I absolutely adore the hotel's breakfast buffet. Although I missed it on my first day back in China due to jet lag, on the second day, I spent a full two hours savoring the lavish breakfast! The breakfast is divided into Chinese and Western sections. Personally, I think the Western section has a better view as it faces the river and the Oriental Pearl Tower directly, but both Chinese and Western dishes are incredibly plentiful and taste great. The breakfast on the 56th floor was so good that I didn't even bother to check out the breakfast at the Club Lounge! The hotel's location is superb; not only is it in the heart of Lujiazui, but the subway station is also right on the B1 level. It's also very convenient to take a taxi to various attractions and shopping malls in Puxi! A special thank you to the concierge department this time. My suitcase broke during my last stay at Jin Mao a week ago, forcing me to buy a new one at a mall on Nanjing Road. Since I was rushing to go abroad at the time, I had to leave my old suitcase with the concierge. I only picked it up again from the concierge a week later after returning from my trip abroad. I'm truly grateful to the concierge staff! Both this stay and my previous one, the hotel was fully booked, and almost all the guests were foreigners, with very few domestic tourists. Yet, even with such tight room availability, the hotel still reserved my preferred room type for me, which I truly appreciate! Overall, I highly recommend staying at Grand Hyatt Jin Mao! The location is super convenient, making it easy to get anywhere. The rooms are clean, tidy, and refreshing, and the beautiful views are incredibly therapeutic. It's perfect for both relaxation and enjoying the scenery!"

"The BnB was very clean, and the location is perfect for anyone visiting Disneyland. They offer free Disneyland drop-off and pick-up service, as well as airport transfers, which is super convenient. The property is also very family-friendly, making it a great choice for travelers with kids. The team showed great hospitality throughout my stay. There’s also a pool and a breakfast room, and the breakfast was lovely. The lady in the kitchen is very kind, and all the staff were incredibly helpful. It was also very convenient to order food through *******, and the bus stop is just 5 metres from the BnB. I truly enjoyed my entire stay. The room was exactly as described in the pictures. Thank you for your warm hospitality!"

"Thank you very much to the owner of the B&B. First, the space is large and the environment is very quiet. The owner will respond to any request. As long as you ask, the owner will arrange it for you. Second, breakfast for 2 days was provided. 5 people. Very satisfied. I went to Disney, and the pick-up and drop-off arranged for the next day was also implemented. Before leaving, my watch was left in the room, and the owner found it for me in time and mailed it to my home by SF Express. I will still book this store next time I go to Shanghai. I forgot to take a photo of the room. It is similar to the one posted on the official website. This price and this service are worth it. "This stay was absolutely fantastic! The hotel's environment is spotless, elegant, and the facilities are complete and high-quality, making for a truly comfortable experience. The staff were warm and attentive throughout our stay, from check-in to explaining all the details; they were quick to respond to any needs, thoughtful and professional. It was such a pleasant and reassuring stay, I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time!"

"The room could have been a bit cleaner — there was still quite a bit of dust in some areas such as the blinds and furniture. The furniture also looked a little worn with some scratches here and there. However, the bed was very comfortable, the linens were clean, and the pillows were soft. The room itself was spacious, which was great for our family of four, and our kids really enjoyed it. The view from our room was beautiful — we could see the Oriental Pearl Tower right from the window. The breakfast was decent; we stayed for four nights, and the menu changed slightly every day, which kept it interesting. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, especially Mr. Kim, who assisted us warmly during check-in and made everything smooth and pleasant. The location was excellent — it’s right next to the train station, making it very convenient to travel to places like Nanjing Road and other attractions around the city. We would definitely consider staying here again the next time we visit Shanghai. What impressed us the most was that we stayed on my wife’s birthday, and the hotel surprised us with a lovely birthday cake — such a thoughtful and heartwarming gesture! Before we checked out, they even prepared a small box of treats as a farewell gift, which made our experience even more memorable."

"This is genuinely my favorite hotel to stay at in Shanghai. The rooms are spacious, it's very close to the city center, and the huge floor-to-ceiling windows offer beautiful views. One time, I accidentally stained the bedsheets, and they didn't even scold me (._.)! Every time I hail a taxi downstairs, the bellhops come to open the door for me. If I have a lot of luggage, they even help bring it up to my room! I'll definitely keep booking here whenever I come to Shanghai. My friends and I always stay here, and the hotel is also super photogenic!"

"This was my first stay at the W Hotel, and in my opinion, the night view from W Shanghai – The Bund is unparalleled – truly the best you can get for a view of the Bund, bar none. The rooms here boast a unique, massive curved floor-to-ceiling window. The trendy, nightclub-like vibe is also signature to the W, making it feel much younger and more vibrant compared to other hotels, definitely appealing more to a younger crowd. The hotel features three distinct bars, and I highly recommend the breakfast – it's genuinely excellent, with a wide variety of cuisines available. I booked a Wonderful King Room, and rooms ending in '10' generally offer the most prime views. Plus, I received a 500 RMB voucher for the YEN Chinese Restaurant and another 500 RMB voucher for the spa. They even offered a late checkout until 2 PM, which made it an incredibly good deal. The W Hotel has certainly won over many young people with its prime scenic views and fashionable decor!"

"The hotel initially upgraded us to a Business Deluxe View Room. The view from the room was quite nice; the night scenery was beautiful, and we could clearly see the 'Shanghai Trio' skyscrapers. The Oriental Pearl TV Tower was only visible at the very top, but the location is superb. You can see the entire TV Tower just a short walk along the Bund from downstairs. Although the hotel is a bit old, its location is absolutely unbeatable and it's full of Shanghai character. However, the cleanliness needs improvement. Even with double-glazed windows on the ninth floor, we could still hear the rumbling of the cruise ships, but thankfully it stopped by 11 PM."

"Booked this hotel near Disneyland for a trip with my child. I initially thought it was just a hotel with hot springs, but it turned out to be a hot spring resort that happens to have a hotel within it. You take off your shoes as soon as you enter, which was quite an unexpected experience. We got a room upgrade, but the original room didn't even have a shower. The room itself wasn't very big, so if you're looking for a larger space, make sure to check the room types in advance. Overall, the facilities are a bit old, but there's everything you need: a bath, a kids' play area (naughty fort), and lounge areas. We barely went back to the room except for sleeping. The service was excellent, with airport transfers and shuttle services to Disneyland. Who understands the joy of coming back from a day at Disneyland with a child and relaxing in a hot bath? It truly soothed this tired mother's heart."

"Renaissance hotel never let us down, this one locates in the heart of New Pudong area, it’s reasonably close to Centre but less busy or crowded. It’s in a really beautiful area and gave you the aurar of luxury.  Hotel itself is beautiful, modern and most importantly, impeccably presented throughout. The front desk staff were very friendly and made us felt welcomed upon arrival. They then proceed to check us in promptly and most of our modest requests were met without any fuss - this is what 5* hotel is all about!  Once into the room we were again wow’d by the big, modern room and top notch facilities, we immediately knew we would have a great stay (which we did). The beddings were fresh and clean, towels, bath robe and slippers all provided in best conditions.  In the evening we checked out the swimming pool which our children loved (swimming hat required we had to purchase them at rmb100 each), following day before check out we all had great breakfast with a deal purchased via front desk. I’d say a huge thank you to Lynn and the front desk team whom checked us in and arranged everything we need for a wonderful time spent at the Renaissance Hotel, it will be my first choice next time I’m back in SH!  Ps, Lynn was so helpful even ordered takeaways for us since we don’t have local number (if you were to order uber type taxi, takeaway food etc you need to get a local sim) - the CS is out of this world good. And we got the automatic robot delivering them straight to our room"
