Sankeien Garden Review

An amazing garden dates back more than a hundred years nearby Yokohama city.

Sanxi Garden is a beautiful and peaceful courtyard-style landscape garden. It is a rare leisure place with pagodas, promenade paths, 17th-century architecture, and a Japanese tea ceremony hall where you can drink tea. Sanxi Garden covers an area of about 180,000 square meters, with trees, grass, birds and flowers, known as the "Garden of the Garden", and is also one of the good places to visit plum blossoms, cherry blossoms and red leaves.

I love this traditional garden in Yokohama. You can see old buildings, a pond, and different seasonal flowers! The fall colors made the place even more beautiful!

I've always wanted to come, but I visited for the first time. It takes about 30 minutes by bus from Sakuragicho Station and about 30 minutes on foot from the nearest station, which is a little inconvenient for transportation. By the way, the bus at the entrance of Sankeien is circulating, so you can get on from the bus stop at the same place as you got off when you came back. There was also a large pond in the park, and the site was larger and more spectacular than I expected. It takes about an hour and a half to go around full. As of February 22nd, the plums were still around. If you enter March, plums and other flowers will bloom and it will be good for cherry blossom viewing. It was good that there were many relocated buildings of national important cultural properties. There were also many ducks and cats. There were also several couples in kimonos who came to take pictures for the wedding. I would like to visit again when it gets warm.

The scenery here is so beautiful! The spring water is clear like a mirror, and the mountains are full of colorful wild flowers. It is really like a beautiful landscape painting against the blue sky and white clouds.
