I just want to express how amazing my experience at SSAW Boutique was! From check-in to check-out, everything was seamless. The man at the front desk also helped me order food even though it was late at night and found me a restaurant that was open, I really appreciated that. Highly suggest staying here, the views from the rooms are also amazing.

hsc-My stay this time was incredibly comfortable and pleasant. Gary from guest relations was attentive and thoughtful throughout, promptly responding to all my requests. The laundry service was very efficient, and my clothes came back clean and tidy. In the evening, the turndown service was meticulous, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The room itself was clean and comfortable, and the service from all staff members was professional and warm-hearted. Overall, my experience was excellent, and I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit. Highly recommend!

Had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The location is excellent, with easy access to transportation. While the room facilities aren't the newest, the bedding was comfortable, making for a very relaxing stay. The front desk staff were quite friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. Overall, the hotel's environment and cleanliness are far superior to express hotels in the same price range. Highly recommend.

The hotel is as central as you can get in Shanghai and is in a beautiful and historic old building that dates from early last century. It is surrounded by restaurants, has a metro line around the corner and has a theatre and even a Starbucks on its doorstep (which compensates a little for not having breakfast available in the hotel).
My room was very spacious and well equipped with a powerful rain-shower and small bath, tea and coffee making facilities, a very comfortable bed and excellent wi-fi. The room and hotel in general is a little dated but doesn’t suffer from this. The reception on the first floor is nicely appointed and is accessed via a lift or beautiful stone staircase from street level. Staff are very helpful and welcoming.
Rooms are quiet given the roadside proximity and I slept soundly each night. The Bund was about a 25 minute walk at night and there were lots of malls and restaurants to choose from just a stroll from the hotel itself- we ate at a Turkish-style bistro about 10 minutes walk away on the first night which was great value, and had a real buzz. There are also some nice bars nearby for a late night drink before bed. Overall, I would highly recommend as a weekend stopover option for central Shanghai, with metro accessibility and lots to do nearby.

We finally stayed in the long-coveted room with the scenic bathtub. The floor-to-ceiling window bathtub is definitely the highlight, offering a serene view of the flowing river and the city's towering buildings – capturing the unique romance of Shanghai perfectly. The breakfast buffet in the morning was incredibly thoughtful, with a wide variety of dishes catering to both adults and children. With no rush, we savored the moments amidst the city's riverfront panorama, creating warm birthday memories for the kids.

NingmengfengmiyouzinaiTraveling to Shanghai with my family for the May Day holiday, we chose to stay at the Yangtze Hotel, and instantly, we were transported back to the glamorous old Shanghai of yesteryear 🌃. This historic building, dating back to 1933, is incredibly charming. The colorful dome in the lobby and the vintage carved details everywhere exude an air of elegance. It boasts a prime location in the city center, with convenient subway access to all parts of the city and numerous shopping districts nearby. In the mornings, we enjoyed watching the city come alive, and in the evenings, we'd lean on the balcony, admiring the night view. It was so peaceful and relaxing, washing away all the fatigue from our travels – truly the most healing sanctuary for our May Day trip to Shanghai. The breakfast was varied and delicious, and there were more foreign guests than Chinese, making it feel like we were abroad.

wangying_0418The European Baroque style is grand, and even the basic rooms are spacious at over 70 sqm, featuring a 2.2-meter king-size bed, a balcony, and a well-designed layout that makes for a very comfortable stay. The service is warm and friendly, breakfast and the buffet are plentiful, and the pool is beautiful. It's suitable for both families with children and business travelers. The downsides are that some facilities are a bit dated since the hotel has been open for several years, the location is a bit out in the suburbs and far from the subway, a few rooms occasionally have some minor cleaning issues in corners, and the underground parking entrance is a bit narrow.

Overall, my stay was fine, but one incident on check-out day left a bad taste. After picking up our luggage from storage, I unintentionally dozed off on a lobby sofa while waiting for our car. A staff member came to wake me, and their tone and attitude were rather unfriendly, making the interaction feel abrupt and uncomfortable. My family, who was with me, was about to step in, but I stopped them.
For a high-end hotel, alongside excellent facilities, the staff's attitude and communication style when interacting with guests are equally crucial. Even when a reminder is necessary, there are definitely more polite and gentle ways to address the situation.
On a positive note, the hotel's Guest Experience Specialist proactively contacted me afterward, genuinely listened to my concerns, and offered a formal apology. Their handling of the feedback was quite sincere. I hope the hotel further enhances its staff's service awareness and communication training to prevent similar situations from recurring.

Guest UserThe hotel is surrounded by excellent amenities, with plenty of dining, entertainment, and shopping options. The room facilities are very comprehensive, including a luxurious gym and swimming pool. The service attitude was also fantastic; Melody arranged a really great room for us during check-in. The bedding was clean, and the room was spacious.
