We had a great experience at Thaiwoo Ski Resort! The resort is very well organized, with a wide variety of slopes for different levels. The pistes are well prepared, and the area is beautiful, especially in winter.Everything is convenient and easy to navigate—lifts work smoothly, and the overall atmosphere is fun and lively. There are plenty of places to rest, eat, and warm up between runs. It’s a great place for both beginners and more experienced skiers and snowboarders. We really enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend Thaiwoo Ski Resort to anyone coming to Chongli for winter sports.

This was the best part of the trip... We're giving it to you! Love it so much, completely smitten. First time ever experiencing -14 degree Celsius temperature. First time ever seeing snow, even if it was real or artificial, it didn't matter. Everything was convenient, and the view was amazing.

The Slopes: Even the "Beginner" slopes are steep and very icy. The ground is hard as a rock, making falls very painful. True beginners might prefer smaller slopes closer to Beijing.Equipment: The beginner pass includes basic gear (skis/board, boots, helmet). Keep your IC Card safe for rentals and the magic carpet. The summit cable car is an extra 100 RMB.Staff: Mostly unsmiling and no English. Use a translation app.The "Coach" Scam: Be wary of pushy freelance instructors on the slopes. A middle-aged woman persistently harassed us and even tripped my boyfriend to make skiing look "too hard" without her help.Safe Option: If you want a lesson, only book through the Official Ski Academy counter next to the ticket office.

This ski resort is lively! There's music and songs, and ski enthusiasts gather here. There's a restaurant area where you can relax. There's actually a kids' area too, but we didn't try it. This was my first time skiing here. There are coaches on the slope, so if you don't know how to ski, you can negotiate a price with them – it's not expensive. Booking through Trip.com is cheaper, but since we went at the end of the year, prices might have gone up. I recommend booking through Trip.com. They actually have packages that include ski equipment, but we already rented some from outside, otherwise it would have been worth it! 🥰❄️

Great experience and very foreigner-friendly This hotel left us with a very positive impression. The overall atmosphere is warm, well-organized, and welcoming, especially for international guests. The buffet breakfast deserves special mention. For us as foreigners, it was surprisingly good and thoughtfully prepared. Since some people have dietary restrictions (忌口), it was not always easy to eat local food outside, but the hotel’s buffet offered a wide variety of options that worked perfectly for different preferences and needs. We truly appreciated the effort. The location is excellent for skiing, the surroundings are beautiful, and everything is well arranged, which makes the stay smooth and enjoyable. The staff were friendly, professional, and always ready to help, which made the whole experience even better. Overall, this hotel is a great choice for both comfort and convenience. It gave us a very good impression of skiing in China, and we would happily recommend it to other international travelers

Took a trip with the family for my birthday weekend and some family time. The hotel was amazing. Great staff and location was perfect for traveling around the area. They have underground parking and even have a PlayStation near the hotel elevators so you can pay or locate your car. Parking garage elevators are separate from the hotel room elevators. Close to shopping and eateries and the pool was great for doing some laps my son and husband have the pool to theirselves. There were two lifeguards on duty. We took a trip over to the Gate and ate at the restaurant on the second floor. Food was very delicious and the service was top notch. It was a great ending to a relaxing weekend. I would highly recommend staying here and would definitely go again.

Taiwoo Resort in winter is an absolute paradise for ski enthusiasts! The European-style town, blanketed in pristine white snow, looks straight out of a fairy tale. The ski slopes here are professional and offer a wide variety of choices, perfect for both beginners and experts to enjoy. The hotel I stayed at was conveniently located, and the rooms were warm and comfortable, with some very thoughtful touches. There's a diverse selection of dining options in the town, and after dinner, heading back to the hotel for a hot spring soak is just divine. I can't wait to go back again!

The hotel's location is fantastic – right next to the cable car entrance and with a Lawson convenience store just downstairs. Extremely convenient! I initially had some reservations due to negative reviews I'd seen. However, from the moment we checked in, every single staff member at the front desk was exceptionally friendly and patient, always greeting us with a smile. A special mention goes to Niko at the front desk!!! The hotel was fully booked during our stay. The two rooms we were initially allocated were a bit far apart, and our children kept getting lost running between them. Niko went above and beyond to patiently find us two connecting rooms. We are truly grateful for her help, especially considering the high occupancy rate at the time!

The attitude of the front desk staff has greatly improved compared to last year; every employee was very proactive. Ms. Xue even upgraded my room, and the cleaning lady on the 3rd floor was also very helpful and friendly, assisting me with an electric heater and humidifier. However, the noodle station in the breakfast restaurant was incredibly inefficient. They only had 4 noodle strainers for 6 cooking stations, leading to very long queues. The female manager at the breakfast restaurant, or whoever she was, was terrible at handling urgent complaints. She showed no respect for guests and was completely unwilling to listen, constantly interrupting me. I told her several times not to interrupt, but she kept cutting me off with circular excuses, saying the noodle strainers were borrowed and new ones would take three or four days to purchase. What kind of excuse is that? A noodle strainer costs a few dollars! Don't you have spares? I'm giving a 5-star rating because of the excellent front desk service, but if this happens again next time, you'll get 4 stars of 0.5.

I came to travel and spent a long time looking for a hotel with a high-end environment and a 2 o'clock check-out time. After careful selection, I chose the International Hotel Building B. Why do I highlight Building B? Because the cost performance is too high. The same service, the same breakfast, a little smaller than Building A, but completely sufficient. I mainly praise their breakfast. Cantonese breakfast is a feature. There is a separate Cantonese restaurant. The price is normal in the evening, and you can eat whatever you want in the morning. It's so happy. There is also a free bathing and swimming center. At this price, it is really touching to have these services! The service is also very good. You can directly scan the code to place an order in the middle of the night, and the robot will bring the drinks to you.

The hostel is great for a weekend as a couple or a group of friends! Staff is very helpful, the location is great with shuttle buses frequently lifting to and from the village which is about 1km away and the hostel itself has a relaxing lounge area to relax at night. The only thing that I could say negative is that the people are smoking in the rooms and the smoke really escapes through the vents and into the rooms. My bathroom smelled like someone constantly smoking inside. Overall, a great experience and would definitely return!

The environment was very quiet. The sofa was a bit dirty, but the bed was very comfortable. There was no water or tea bags in the room initially, but the front desk quickly provided them, which was excellent service. There was also no screen on the window, but they installed one promptly. However, I didn't have hot water when showering at night, and it was still cold in the morning. That was a bit disappointing. I booked two rooms, and only one had this issue, so I guess it was just bad luck. Overall, I was very satisfied with the service, but the lack of hot water for showering was a significant drawback.

This was my first stay here. We had a 3-bedroom family suite, perfect for a family stay. It was spread over two floors, which was great, featuring 3 bathrooms and a walk-in closet on the second floor. The suite was spacious, with a living room and an open-plan kitchen, plus a fridge and a washing machine, which was very convenient. The facilities were a mix of new and old, but the overall environment was acceptable. However, there was a strong smell of dog urine in the hallway, and even running an air purifier didn't help. Upon check-in, the hotel offered complimentary hot spring tickets or movie passes. We chose the hot springs, which were quite good, featuring both indoor and outdoor pools. It was relatively peaceful and not crowded. Breakfast had limited options, but the noodles, rice vermicelli, and wontons were delicious. The only downside was that it didn't open until 7:30 AM. The hotel offers a free shuttle bus service to and from the station, which was quite convenient. However, it doesn't pick up/drop off right at the hotel entrance, but at the town entrance instead.

This time I came to Inner Mongolia and Datong to travel. I passed by near Zhangjiakou and temporarily stayed at the Arcadia Hotel. The final stay was better than I expected. The hotel has a lot of slow charging piles, which is convenient for electric cars to make up for electricity. This is very suitable for us who drive electric cars. At the same time, the hotel is also equipped with a swimming pool, gym and children's playground. We went to the swimming pool to experience it. The water temperature was OK. The hotel's breakfast is also very good, the style is quite rich, and there are quite a lot of tourists dining during the eleventh period. The location of the hotel is very close to the Jiming Mountain attractions. We chose a duplex room type this time, so that the children also have an exclusive sleeping area. When checking in, the work service staff Su Su received us very warmly and gave us guidance and hotel tips. Let us feel very good this stay! Is a hotel worth recommending to experience!

Great location, right next to the gondola. The hotel itself is quite large, with a ski equipment hall and various restaurants. It's definitely one of the landmark hotels in Thaiwoo Ski Town. The service is also good; they offer free ski storage and even allowed us a late check-out. HRY at the front desk was particularly helpful and even arranged for my headphones to be mailed back after I left them behind. It was a really good experience, and I'll definitely stay here again next time.

Overall, the hotel is quite good. The location is excellent, with ample free parking. Across from the Xuanhua Museum (the former site of the Chahar Democratic Government) and the Catholic Church, it's about 400 meters from the historic Chaoyang Tower. It's also not too far from Gongji Tower (South Gate), Zhenshuo Tower (Drum Tower), and Qingyuan Tower (Bell Tower). The front desk service was friendly and professional. The rooms are small, with no extra space for luggage. My biggest complaint was the breakfast. For a four-star hotel, the breakfast selection was limited, with no Western pastries, and milk served in thermoses (a first for me). Meals were served only at 9:00 PM.

The lobby is spacious, bright and clean, and the parking lot of his house in the hospitality area is also very large. Recently, I have not forgotten that there are a lot of parking spaces. There is also an underground parking lot. The front desk rain is very good. The room is upgraded. I take the initiative to ask if I drive. There is a free parking code. The room is not bad and spacious. The sun is very comfortable at noon

The room was surprisingly spacious and better than I had imagined. The facilities were good, though it would be even better if USB charging ports were available. It was spotlessly clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the surrounding area was quiet. Their breakfast spread was very generous, but be sure to go early as it runs out fast! Overall, this place is quite good!

Our family of three had a fantastic New Year's Eve stay, it was truly a wonderful experience! **Parking**: There's an underground parking garage with EV charging. After linking your license plate to their mini-program, parking is free for the entire ski season. **Room Facilities**: The room has an American-style decor and was clean and tidy. The sofa bed could easily sleep two adults. I heard the floor heating was adjustable, but I didn't know how, so the room was a bit cold at night; just make sure to use your blanket. A washing machine and dryer are provided, which is great – a microwave would make it even better. **Service**: On our second day, they called to check how our stay was going, which was a nice touch; they didn't wait until we'd already checked out. We mentioned the mattress was too soft, and they immediately swapped it out for a firmer coir mattress, so we slept soundly on the second night. Also, every time we left the room, it seemed someone miraculously tidied it up. One time, after returning from the hot springs, we even found a fruit platter waiting for us. **Dining**: We ate five meals in total at the all-day dining restaurant downstairs (2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 1 dinner). The food was delicious, reasonably priced, and, most importantly, not crowded. Other restaurants outside always had long queues during meal times, and hotel guests even get a 20% discount. For breakfast, they surprisingly offered steak and salmon! I also highly recommend the American-style burger!! **Other**: There's a hot spring and a gym. The hot spring was very relaxing. **Suggestions**: The ski equipment service hall's efficiency was low. It might be okay on weekdays, but it definitely needs improvement during holidays. I suggest allowing guests to complete the process (including ski cards) the evening before, at check-in. We had a ski instructor booked, but the slow front desk processing delayed us by over ten minutes. Returning the cards also has to be done there, and given how large the hotel is, walking back and forth feels quite far.

During the National Day holiday, rooms in Taiwu Town were scarce and prices skyrocketed. Compared to other hotels, Ruijing Hotel's prices were relatively reasonable. Facilities: The hotel is built on a hillside. For higher floors, multiple elevators need to be used, resulting in a long walking distance – a bit of an indirect workout. The hotel lacks central air conditioning and heating/cooling. There is also no swimming pool. Cleanliness: Although there were no-smoking signs in the non-smoking rooms, there was still a lingering smell of smoke, indicating past guest negligence. Pushing the twin beds together revealed a hard-to-clean area under the beds, but housekeeping handled it promptly and properly, which was satisfactory. Environment: The higher floors offer a direct view of Xue Ruyi, which is nice. During my stay in October, there was a large construction site 50 meters in front of the hotel, making the area dusty and muddy. Drainage repairs were also being done on the balcony platform. However, the noise was minimal and didn't disturb rest. Service: The hotel service was generally good. Room service responded quickly and efficiently; the lobby platform was limited and crowded, but there was someone to assist with parking; at night, when I requested a heater, the male manager on duty quickly and efficiently arranged for one, which was generally satisfactory. Breakfast was average, nothing special. Dinner was at the buffet in the adjacent Vienna Hotel; the food was decent and the prices were reasonable. I rarely stay at hotels under the China Travel Service group, so I hope local hotel groups will work harder and improve.

Because I came to the hotel 10 kilometers away from the competition recently, I looked up and parked and prepared to pack things. I just saw this hotel. I just went in and asked a mouth. It happened that they had just gone to the game to check out. They were attracted by the warm atmosphere lobby. The decoration style is simple and stylish. The front desk staff is warm and kind. Trip.com I was asked to cut the order before I opened the room. Let me check in efficiently and quickly as soon as possible. I also do the hotel industry. Miss sister wearing glasses at the front desk considers the guests. There are not many people who check out. The room status is still restored. She always puts the guests first. I am still worried about not finding the hotel. In general, Zhangjiakou Chicheng West Meiji Xijia Hotel is very cost-effective. Whether it is service, environment or facilities, it is very good. It is a great accommodation choice for travel and business trips in Chicheng! Must be praised,

Very pleasant week, the room is close to the Genting Snow Road, wear equipment, go to the snow road in minutes, tired and hungry can go back to the room to rest at any time. In addition, the room is clean and tidy, with all the facilities and utensils, and the landlord is warm and thoughtful. It would be more convenient to drive, but if it was not an off-road vehicle. The room is in the middle of the hillside, and the general car may not come up after snowing. It took 80 yuan to take a private car from Prince Edward City Station for 3 kilometers. When I went back, it was much cheaper to take a regular taxi, but I needed to add an extra red envelope to get the order.

FAQs about Thaiwoo Ski Resort

  • What is the best month for skiing?

The best time to ski depends on your goals: January–February offer the best snow and most consistent conditions, while March balances good snow, warmer weather, longer days, and fewer crowds. December is festive but less reliable for snow, and April–May are quieter with more variable conditions.
  • How many days are enough for skiing?

For most beginners, 3–4 days of skiing is enough to learn the basics, build confidence, and really enjoy the experience without feeling exhausted. It’s also a great way to see if skiing is for you. Choosing a midweek ski trip is often more affordable and less crowded, making it an excellent option for first-timers.
  • Is it expensive to ski in China?

Skiing in China can be costly. A day pass at Nanshan is about $40, while Chongli costs around $70 per day. Add transport ($7–20), food ($7–14), and accommodation (about $30), and even a weekend ski trip can quickly become expensive.
