I booked this hotel because I fancied a spa day. I tried to contact the spa for 2 days after checking in without success, so I went to investigate. There is no spa despite being advertised online, on the hotel website AND in the room. When I spoke to the manager about my disappointment, he told me to just use another one in the local area. Also, there’s no personal touch here like at other Marriotts- no one said hello, helped with my suitcase or greeted me whenever I returned to the hotel. I usually feel ‘special’ when using this brand of hotel- but not this time. On a positive note, it’s beautiful and in a great location. Our stay was pleasant and most of the staff were very helpful & friendly. They will greet us whenever we walked pass. Too bad we did not have the chance to enjoy the facilities and dine in the hotel.
One feedback I had was during our check-in day on 28 Feb 2024. We were not sure if we had arrived at the right hotel as we do not know the hotel's Chinese name. It was raining and I wanted to alight & make a quick check with an older porter at the hotel entrance/drop-off point. When I asked the older porter ”这里是不是 Okura Garden Hotel?” He just brushed me aside and said ”不知道!”. In the end I had to dashed into the hotel lobby and reconfirmed with the reception on duty.
Understand that English may not be a common language for the hotel staff especially the older ones. But won't it make a great difference if the staff at least knows the English name of the hotel that they are working for?FromJPY 15,707

Amazing hotel room with a fish tank! Perfect amenities. Hotel service couldn’t be more helpful. Bringing extra water and ice to the room. Hotel room was extremely hot the manager brought down a fan. Breakfast was very chaotic, food was cold. All in all would 100% stay again. Cliff light show was amazing, water light show was ok.
If you want to use the swimming pool being a cap as we read on previous reviews it was needed.

This hotel accept foreigners definitely no issues with check in and check out.
The location of hotel is great but still need travel 30min to 60min to the place that I visit like zhujiajiao yu yuan and maybe closer one is the bund.
Front counter staff are approachable. For order car services they usually won't provide. They don't know exact step for order didi for foreigner. Quite troublesome for them. U better own a local sim card.
Their shower and body shampoo are excellent and the water pressure are good and supere.toilet and toiletry provided an very clean.
The toilet don't have proper privacy for family or friends as the glassdoor are transparent and visible see u shower or doing bisnuss.

Sanitation: Live in Room 2108, the room is super large, very clean, and very cost-effective!
Facilities: The facilities are also great, but I suspect there are cameras in many places. Basically, there are red glowing dots in every socket, which are still bright after unplugging the power. Another great stay at the Swissotel! As always a great welcome and greeting by the night manager Jason. His associate, Jack is also always kind and very helpful with anything that I may need. Always so inviting, caring and makes me feel like a family member when I stay. The hotel is decorated nicely for Chris**as and has a nice holiday feel.
Breakfast is always a nice treat, served hot and fresh with many options.

Overall, it is an excellent hotel. The location is extremely convenient, right at Xintiandi. The hotel is not brand new, but very well maintained. Two points I would like to make: 1. if you book your trip through third party, you cannot use your stay toward your frequent stay points (not a huge deal). 2. they do not have room to fit our family of 4. Great location to visit the Bund, Yun Garden and City God Temple anytime. Booked the family suite room as a first timer. The room has two beds, enough space for up to 4 person and a living room. Room facing Landmark view (a sculpture). Top notch bidet toilet bowl, automatic closure and opening plus heating of the pad. Down side is the room was stuffy and hot during cold season. Heating system is centralised and the most the hotel staff can do is to provide an additional fan in the room to help with the ventilation. Absolutely a great choice of hotel in terms of locality. Smacked in the heart of Nanjing road eat and minutes walk from the bund and the you garden and other beautiful sight seeing places. The room a little small but comfortable enough. Only the air con was not cool enough. So it can get very hot in the night even outside temperature was 11-15 C. Left the windows open because it was so warm but still ventilation was poor. Although wifi was provided but the whole time I stayed there, the connection was really poor. So that’s not a good point too. Other than that, the staff was really attentive and good. They tried their very best to help. Breakfast was good. Choice was good and satisfying.
