What is the Jakarta Arrival Card?
The "Jakarta arrival card" refers to the unified digital declaration—the All Indonesia Arrival Card. Paper customs forms on flights entering Jakarta are obsolete.
The official platform merges three previous arrival forms into a single online filing:
- Customs Declaration (e-CD): Details about your baggage, duty-free limits, and declarable items.
- Immigration Arrival Data: Basic flight and stay info cross-referenced with your passport.
- Health & Quarantine Declaration: Replaces the former separate SATUSEHAT Health Pass.
Who Needs to Fill Out the Jakarta Arrival Card?
Mandatory for All International Passengers
Every passenger entering Indonesia through Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) must complete the arrival card. This applies to:
- Foreign tourists, business travelers, and visa holders.
- Indonesian citizens returning from abroad.
- Children and infants (can be included under a head of household/family submission).
Exemptions
- Transit Passengers: If you land at CGK purely to connect to an international flight without passing through Indonesian immigration or retrieving checked baggage, you do not need to fill out the form. (Note: Domestic connections inside Indonesia do require clearing customs in Jakarta first, so transit travelers staying in Indonesia must submit it).
Requirements & Documents for Entering Jakarta
Before starting your online declaration or approaching the border counters, gather these essentials:
1. Travel Documents
- Valid Passport: Must have at least 6 months of validity from your arrival date.
- Visa / e-VOA: Most tourists need a Visa on Arrival (VoA) or an e-VOA applied for via the official
evisa.imigrasi.go.idportal. The e-VOA fee is 500,000 IDR (~$31 USD).
2. Customs Declarations & Monetary Limits
- Currency Limits: Carrying cash or monetary instruments totaling 100,000,000 IDR (~$6,200 USD) or more requires mandatory declaration.
- Duty-Free Allowance: Personal goods up to $500 USD (~8,000,000 IDR) per person are duty-free. Anything exceeding this value must be declared and taxed at the customs exit.
- Alcohol & Tobacco: Allowance is strictly 1 liter of alcohol per adult and 200 cigarettes (or 25 cigars). Excess alcohol will be confiscated without an option to pay duties.
- IMEI Registration (Mobile Phones): If you are staying in Indonesia for more than 90 days and using a local SIM card, you must register your phone's IMEI number during the arrival card submission. Devices valued under $500 USD (~8,000,000 IDR) are exempt from import taxes.

How to Fill Out the Jakarta Arrival Card Online
The digital arrival card can be completed via the official government portal (allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id) or the official mobile app.
1.Access the Official Portal: Within 72 hours of landing.
Open the official All Indonesia portal (allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id) on your mobile device or laptop. Make sure the URL ends in .go.id.
2.Enter Personal & Voyage Data: Match passport exactly.
Fill in your full name, nationality, passport number, flight number (e.g., GA875 or SQ950), and planned address in Jakarta (hotel name or residence).
3.Complete Customs & Health Questions: Add family members if applicable.
Answer the brief health and customs questions regarding currency, agricultural goods, electronics, and commercial items.
4.Download Your Official QR Code: Save offline.
Submit the form. A unique QR code will display on screen. Take a screenshot and download the image to your phone gallery so it is accessible without an internet connection.
Detailed Arrival Process at Jakarta Airport (CGK)
Once your flight lands at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, the terminal walkthrough follows this order:
[Touchdown at CGK] ──> [Immigration / Autogate] ──> [Baggage Claim] ──> [Scan Arrival QR at Customs] ──> [Airport Exit]
- Immigration Clearance: Follow signs to Passport Control. If you have an e-passport and an approved e-VOA, proceed directly through the Autogates for automatic clearance. Otherwise, join the standard line or pay for your Visa on Arrival (VoA) at the designated counter before joining the main queue.
- Baggage Retrieval: Head down to the baggage carousels to collect your checked luggage.
- Customs Inspection: Walk toward the exit checkpoint. Show your saved All Indonesia Arrival QR Code to the customs officer or scan it at the automated reader gates.
- Luggage Screening: Most travelers walk straight through the Green Channel after scanning. If you declared items or are selected for random screening, proceed to the X-ray scanners in the Red Channel.
When Should I Fill Out the Arrival Card?
- Submission Window: The form opens 72 hours (3 days) before your scheduled arrival time in Jakarta. Submissions made earlier than 72 hours will not be accepted by the portal.
- Best Practice: Fill it out 24 to 48 hours before departure while packing or at your departure airport lounge. Waiting until you arrive in Jakarta can cause delays if airport Wi-Fi is congested.
Tips and Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Beware of Fake Sites: The official All Indonesia arrival card is 100% FREE ($0 USD / 0 IDR). Never pay on third-party websites claiming to "process" your arrival card.
- Keep a Screenshot: CGK airport Wi-Fi can slow down during peak arrival hours. Always save a screenshot or PDF copy of your QR code to your phone so you can open it offline.
- Declare Food Items: If you carry fresh food, fruit, meat, or plant seeds, declare them. Unreported agricultural products carry heavy fines under Indonesian biosecurity laws.
- One Code for Families: One family head can complete a single joint submission for up to 4 family members traveling together, generating one shared QR code for customs.

The breakfast was mediocre with limited variety. The front desk service was inflexible; they even required a deposit for an extra key card, which other hotels around Jakarta don't ask for. Due to special circumstances, I had to cancel the remaining nights of my stay. I discussed this with Ctrip, and they offered a very understanding solution and also communicated with the hotel. However, the hotel absolutely refused to issue a refund, insisting that I stay there. I honestly don't feel they were very accommodating towards Chinese guests. Thumbs down. We had an awesome time at Shangrila Jakarta. Booking the clubroom was the best decision as we could have free flow drinks, afternoon tea and evening canapes. For those with children and not allowed into the lounge during evening time, they have allocated an area in the lobby lounge for families to enjoy their evening canapes and adults could still order any alcohol drinks served ala carte should they desire to do so—all inclusive. Lounge food was delicious. There were scones, salmon, smoked salmon sandwiches, profiteroles, sushi, satay, cakes etc. we would absolutely do the same should we be going to Jakarta again. There’s also a water playground with water slides and big tipping bucket for children. Pool is big and enjoyable. There are also fringe activities for children like bracelet making and also a bouncy castle and a swing.
Rooms were kept clean and tidy and the toilet (with separate bathtub and shower) was huge! Room temperature control was accurate and good too.
The only thing is that it is not located walking distance/connected to the big malls. But taking a bluebird cab out to mega malls is easy and also of budget cost.
Breakfast spread is amazing and seating was fast too.
