🌸 Osaka Temperature: Spring (Mar–May) | Mild Weather and Cherry Blossom Season

Spring is one of the most beautiful times to visit Osaka. Temperatures gradually rise from around 50°F (10°C) in early March to about 68°F (20°C) in May, making the weather pleasantly mild. During this time, cherry blossoms burst into full bloom, and spots like Osaka Castle Park and Expo ’70 Commemorative Park are prime for blossom viewing, with scenery that feels romantic and enchanting. Spring also brings more rainfall, and the temperature swing between day and night can be quite large.

  • What to wear: We recommend a light jacket and a long-sleeve top, and be sure to bring rain gear. A pair of comfortable walking shoes is essential for exploring the city.

Nice little museum inside. A few floors had a temporary showcase with lots of journals, armor, painted screens, etc from the 1500s. Permanent floors included models, displays, and films about important figures and battles associated with the castle. Signs were posted in English to explain everything. The real highlight was the top floor, where you get to go out on the top balcony for a great view of the area. A good place to visit if you like samurai stuff and history.

Summer in Osaka is hot and muggy, with temperatures often climbing above 86°F (30°C) and humidity running high. Showers are common this time of year, and June in particular ushers in the rainy season. Kiyomizu-dera temple in Kyoto is highly recommended temple for everyone visiting Kyoto to visit. The temple is at the top of a slope lined with numerous shops on both sides. It is advised to visit either early morning or before the sunset to witness the glory of the setting Sun. The place can be a bit crowded.

Kiyomizu-dera Temple in Kyoto is one of Japan's most iconic tourist destinations and a key component of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Ancient Capital Kyoto Cultural Heritage." Main Features and Highlights: Kiyomizu Stage: The most famous landmark, supported by hundreds of massive 12-meter-high beechwood pillars using a "suspended" construction technique, entirely without the use of nails or rivets. From the stage, one can enjoy panoramic views of Kyoto's cityscape. Otowa Waterfall (音羽の滝): Located below the main hall, its three springs symbolize "longevity," "academic success," and "health/marriage." Visitors often queue to drink from one of the springs to pray for blessings. Jishu Shrine: Located within the Kiyomizu-dera grounds, it is famous for its prayers for marriage and is popular among young people. Four Seasons of Beauty: Kiyomizu-dera Temple offers different scenery throughout the year. Spring brings cherry blossoms, autumn brings fiery red maple leaves, and winter brings a blanket of snow, creating picturesque landscapes. The temple also holds special nighttime illumination events during certain seasons (such as spring and autumn). History: The temple was founded in 778 AD, earlier than the history of Kyoto as a capital city, and mainly enshrines the Eleven-Faced Thousand-Armed Kannon Bodhisattva.

Kiyomizu-dera is a place that stands out among the many temples in Kyoto. As its name suggests, “Temple of Clear Water,” this place is a place that deeply moves you with its pure energy. As you climb up the mountainside, the majesty of the wooden building that gradually grows larger comes into view. The scenery that unfolds above it is so magnificent and beautiful that it will take the breath away of anyone who sees it for the first time. The highlight of Kiyomizu-dera is definitely the “Kiyomizu Stage.” Standing on this huge wooden structure built without using any nails, you can see the entire city of Kyoto at a glance, and the wind and sunlight coming from all directions wrap around your body. In spring, cherry blossoms bloom, and in fall, the mountains are colored with autumn leaves, and it welcomes visitors with different faces throughout the four seasons. This is why you want to visit again every time the season changes.

I recently visited Universal Studios Japan (USJ) in Osaka and had a blast, especially the Super Nintendo World (Mario) and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter zones. They were incredibly spectacular and realistic, making it feel like I'd stepped right into the world of the games and movies. The rides in both zones were thrilling and exciting. We also purchased an Express Pass, which was totally worth it. It significantly reduced queuing time, allowing us to easily schedule our visits to the main attractions, especially on crowded days. However, a word of warning for those considering an Express Pass: carefully check the package you choose. Each package specifies the rides included and has a time slot for each attraction. Choosing a pass that doesn't align with your itinerary might force you to rush through zones or disrupt your sightseeing.
