We had a wonderful stay at Grand Margherita Hotel Kuching. The location is absolutely perfect — right by the Sarawak River and within walking distance to the waterfront, shops, and local attractions. The view from our room was beautiful, especially in the evening.
Breakfast had a good variety of choices, and we especially enjoyed our Laksa Sarawak on the last day — it was flavourful, authentic, and the perfect way to end our trip to Kuching! It truly gave us a taste of local Sarawakian cuisine.

This little hotel is quite good. It's a 15-minute walk to the city center. You can buy beer at the supermarket in the mall, which is a 7-minute walk away. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes in the area.
The only weird thing in the room is the table placement – it's off to the side somewhere. Plus, the duvet on the bed has holes, and so do the towels. But that's pretty common across Asia, things aren't always pristine. And by the way, they don't provide any amenities like soap or toothpaste here – none of the usual small essentials.FromNZD 29

Unfortunately, the photos on the site didn’t match our expectations. As a first timer booking here, it wasn’t so good. This one room suite is fine for a 1 night stay but it is very small/tight to move. In the details there’s stated dining room/washing machine but the room was super tiny that the original facilities are already packed. Wifi didn’t work the whole night. The staff was quick to check but after that it still didn’t work so end up having to buy data to do work which was the reason for staying the night. The room was a bit dusty when i came too. There is no free parking for 1 night stay as told when checking in, so limited access card given (no access to parking space). Would probably not book this type of room again next time. Title: Great Service and Space, but Maintenance Needs Attention
My family (2 adults, 2 kids) stayed here for one night 19/12/2025 in Tower A, Room 915. We booked the room with 2 Queen beds, and overall, it is still good value for money, but there are some significant maintenance issues to address.
The Positives:
• Space & Comfort: The room was very spacious, and the beds were comfortable—we slept well.
• Utilities: The air conditioning is powerful and cold, water pressure is excellent, and the Wi-Fi connection was strong and stable.
• Service: The staff were the highlight—very friendly, helpful, and welcoming.
• Value: Free parking is a plus, and the breakfast buffet, while not having a huge variety, was tasty.
The Negatives:
• Mold: Upon entering Room 915, we were greeted by a damp mold smell. The bathroom walls, sink, and floor edges were stained with mold, and the external window view was tarnished by mold stains as well.
• Pool Area: The swimming pool is nice, but there are absolutely no lounge chairs or tables. I had to place my dry clothes and towel on the wet floor, which is quite inconvenient.
• Entertainment: The TV only offers local Malaysian channels.

Wonderful experience staying in a tree house for the 1st time. Totally loved the concept, though the staircase was steep but the room is clean and comfortable.
The days we were there, it was raining. We had to ask for umbrella from the receptionist, however the lady who answered said they dont provide/lend umbrella.
Anyhow, once we reached the counter, the other receptionist allowed us to use the umbrella and we managed to to go out for our dinner.
Apart from the misunderstanding there rest of it as good! Will definitely come again, with more prepared.

The location is still ok because there is a mall so if you want to eat or buy things you are still happy, but if you want to go to the waterfront, it takes 25 minutes, in front of the apartment there is also an everise, but yesterday we ordered the 2 bedroom one, 13th floor, the funny thing is that the wifi we use is the hotel wifi so it's a bit slow, there's no soap in the room, he said Sinad, it's just not available, finally he was told to deliver it, there wasn't even an iron, when I checked out I asked, he said he wanted to chat then it would be delivered hadeh🤧, even though when he arrived there was no response to the chat, it was annoying Plus, if you want to use the washing machine, you have to rent it for 35 RM a night👎, that should be the facility we get when we rent an apartment, I live in another apartment, even though the washing machine isn't in the room, it's kept downstairs, if we use it, it's free. Why do you have to pay for this? , 200 rm deposit, 37 rm in cash, they said it was clean, the apartment wasn't the same, don't know, other floors, other owners, the same or notFromNZD 63

Excellent accomodation for families to stay. Its like staying in a home away from your own home complete with washing machine, cooking hob, Coway water filter, fridge and every bedroom and living room is installed with aircond. Water pressure in the bathroom is excellent.
Lots of eateries and restaurants nearby. Everise Supermarket is just below the condo.
The host is very responsive and replied to our enquiries or requests promptly.

Beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. Carpenter street, the waterfront, where nightly light shows (approx 15mins) are held and various historical buildings and sites are right at the doorstep of the hotel or within walking distance. There is also an excellent mall (Plaza Merdeka) is connected to the hotel which is a plus. Great service from all staff, thank you so much for making our stay so enjoyable

This is my third time stay in this hotel. The room was great and clean. We were assigned next to the swimming pool and there is slightly noise when there is ppl passing. But there was definitely quiet and peace in the room . We did not hear any water sloshing down from the room as the design is pretty good to avoid any sound that came from washroom.
Pretty good Location with various food stalls and a mall nearby. If u are renting a car the hotel also provides carpark and is under basement. You have do not have to worry about rain or shine while picking up your family
Good job for hotel stuff and hope to keep maintaining the hotel cleanness and stay in shape.

The sound insulation is very poor. From 11 pm to around 12 pm, the nearby tenants will be very noisy. The sound of linglinglonglong and they talking loudly. But the water heater in the room is great. The water keeps hot. If you take a shower, the water will not suddenly become cold.The room provides two bottle water,coffee,shower cap and toothbrush.

There were plenty of dining options nearby, making it super convenient for both getting around and eating out. The only downside was the inconsistent hot water supply; it wasn't hot enough and quickly turned cold, which really impacted my shower experience. I hope they can improve their hot water system.

We had a wonderful stay at Grand Margherita Hotel Kuching. The location is absolutely perfect — right by the Sarawak River and within walking distance to the waterfront, shops, and local attractions. The view from our room was beautiful, especially in the evening.
Breakfast had a good variety of choices, and we especially enjoyed our Laksa Sarawak on the last day — it was flavourful, authentic, and the perfect way to end our trip to Kuching! It truly gave us a taste of local Sarawakian cuisine.
Overall, we had a pleasant and memorable experience. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Kuching. Highly recommended!
