"I stayed here for 5 nights and the absolute best part was the location. It is incredibly convenient. Just a short walk to IFS, Tianfu Square, Taikoo Li and Chunxi Road Station. I literally walked everywhere! Plus, having several spas nearby was a great bonus for relaxing after a long day.
However, there were a few issues with the room and service:
Soundproofing: The walls are quite thin. I could clearly hear people walking in the hallway and doors opening/closing, which was a bit disruptive.
Housekeeping: I was disappointed that they never changed the bedsheets during my entire 5-night stay. On one occasion, they didn't replace the face towel; they just re-hung the used one to make it look new.
Security/Privacy: I was surprised to find a ******************************* slipped under my door one morning, which felt a bit unprofessional for a hotel."

The food was excellent and everyone was friendly and helpful, including assisting me with arranging food delivery. A thank you to the cleaning staff as well for checking in and making sure everything was in order during my stay. I also received a beautiful little gift on departure, which was a thoughtful touch.

"Great location. Very well served by public transport, and within walking distance of several attractions. Easily and quickly accessible from the train station. Very warm welcome from the management team. The apartments are quite true to the photos. The only slight difference is that the kitchen isn't meant for cooking, so there's no crockery provided. However, it is equipped with an electric kettle, a microwave, and a refrigerator. Apartment 2021 on the 20th floor, where I extended my stay. Magnificent view. Spacious apartment. Very quiet. Very comfortable bedding. Living area. Very pleasant when you need to spend time in the apartment. Large projection screen. Washing machine with detergent provided - so useful. Large bathroom. Very clean. Very friendly cleaning service. They can clean the room daily and provide two bottles of water every day. The Wi-Fi had some ups and downs, but improved as the stay progressed. In short, an address I would gladly return to for its value for money."

"I was very satisfied with my room. The facilities were complete, and the staff, especially the 'little sister' who helped me, was very attentive and efficient. The front desk area is a bit small, but the room itself was pretty much as pictured, though it didn't have a bed runner. During my stay, a cleaner would tidy up my room and replenish supplies. The hotel's breakfast restaurant offers a good variety of items buffet-style. Downstairs, there's a delicious snack shop selling Dandan noodles and 'Sister Noodle Shop' was also very good. They even offer free luggage storage after check-out."

"The photos make it seem like this hotel occupies its own standalone building, but that isn’t the case. It is actually located on the 15th and 18th floors of an older building, which makes the overall experience feel less premium than expected. While the hotel floors themselves have a modern, futuristic design, the contrast with the rest of the building was a bit disappointing.
Additionally, the room we booked did not have a window, which was not clearly communicated in the images on trip.com, which did disappoint us.
During our visit, there was also very loud construction noise. To their credit, the staff responded promptly and moved us to another floor. However, the noise was still noticeable even after the room change.
The hotel offered a 5% discount as compensation, but we felt it was insufficient given the inconvenience caused, especially since we would also not be able to collect Trip.com coins for this stay. As a result, we declined the offer."

"I booked this hotel to have a different experience, to sleep in the way they were sleeping in the past. The hotel is a museum, very beautiful. But while I enjoyed staying there and sleep in a ¥3 million piece of museum bed, the bed was horribly uncomfortable, it is just a 5 cm soft mattress on top of a 5 cm hard as a stone mattress on top of a plank, but I stayed there only one night, so it worth the experience."

"I highly recommend this hotel apartment in the heart of Chengdu!
First, let's talk about the location – it's absolutely fantastic! Being right in the city center makes getting anywhere super convenient. It's only about a ten-minute walk to Chunxi Road and Taikoo Li. Downstairs, there are convenience stores and plenty of snack shops, so you'll never go hungry, even late at night. Taking a taxi to Kuanzhai Alley, Jinli, or People's Park usually costs around the minimum fare, and the subway station is also nearby. It's truly a 'golden base' for exploring Chengdu. The value for money, considering this prime location, is so good it makes you want to grin.
The room itself was very comfortable. The space was generous, the bedding clean and soft, and the soundproofing was good, ensuring a great night's sleep. You can tell most of the decor was thoughtfully done; the living and bedroom areas feel new and cozy. The air conditioning was powerful, and hot water came quickly. However, I have to be honest: the bathroom decor definitely shows its age. Perhaps it's an older building, as the toilet and shower area facilities look a bit dated. That said, they worked perfectly fine and were clean, which is what matters. Aside from the bathroom, I honestly couldn't find fault with any other part of the experience.
But for those driving, pay attention! The parking is a bit confusing. There's a multi-story car park and an underground garage, and once you park, you can't go directly up to the hotel from there; you have to switch elevators. It's genuinely disorienting the first time. I spent ages dragging my luggage around the garage, battling with two different elevators before finally finding the front desk. I suggest contacting the hotel in advance to clarify the route or calling them for assistance once you're in the parking lot – it will save a lot of time.
Overall, this minor parking hassle doesn't diminish my fondness for the place at all. After all, parking difficulties are common in city centers, and I'm grateful there's even a spot available. If you're not driving, staying here is simply perfect. If you are driving, don't worry – just think of it as a puzzle game; once you solve it, you'll feel it was all worth it.
I'll definitely choose this hotel again on my next trip to Chengdu and recommend it to anyone wanting to explore the city center without spending a fortune on a star-rated hotel. It's genuinely comfortable, convenient, and affordable – I had a fantastic stay!"

It's just a short walk across the street to Chunxi Road Pedestrian Street, and not far from the Giant Panda Breeding Research Base—a 20-minute taxi ride. Very convenient and highly recommended!"

**Facilities:** They have a washing machine, common areas, and my private room came with a toilet and shower, etc.
**Hygiene:** The environment was very clean.
**Location:** Chunxi Road is right downstairs, with tons of snack shops and clothing stores. Taikoo Li is just a short walk away.
**Service:** Patient and friendly! It was a wonderful experience.

How to Get to Chengdu (Airports)
If you’re flying here, Chengdu has 2 major airports: Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (CTU) and the newer Chengdu Tianfu International Airport (TFU).
- Chengdu Shuangliu Int’l Airport (CTU): ~16 km southwest of the city center (a major flight hub). Take Metro Line 10, a taxi or a shuttle bus to the city center.
- Chengdu Tianfu Int’l Airport (TFU): ~50 km southeast of the city center (international and domestic flights are gradually increasing). Take Metro Line 18, a taxi or Didi (40 minutes to the city center).

Getting Around Chengdu
- Subway: Lines 1, 2 and 3 cover the core scenic spots, starting from 2 yuan (~$0.28). Line 1 goes to Wenshu Monastery, Line 2 leads directly to Chunxi Road, and Line 3 takes you to the Panda Base.
- Bus: 2 yuan (~$0.28) to travel throughout the city. It is recommended to take Bus No.2 and No. 4, which connect Kuanzhai Alley and Du Fu's Thatched Cottage. It is more convenient to check the route with a navigation APP.
- Taxi/Didi: The starting fare is 13 yuan (~$1.82). Didi is cheaper. It is recommended to call a taxi in advance during peak hours. It costs about 20 yuan ($2.80) to get from Chunxi Road to Wuhou Shrine.

GGuest UserThe hotel's overall environment design is excellent, with lush gardens and water features surrounding the rooms. A morning stroll is incredibly refreshing, and the ecosystem is thriving. Soaking in the hot springs while listening to birdsong is truly relaxing.
Regarding the facilities, the rooms are clean and hygienic, with good quality bedding and towels. There's a wide selection of pillows, and the hot springs are radon-rich, leaving your skin feeling smooth – I heard it's great for your skin. There's also a fairly large play pool in the hot springs area that kept the kids entertained for ages, so much so that we didn't have time for any other activities. The breakfast quality is also very good.
As for the service, a butler contacted me even before my arrival to ask about any special requests. The hotel's service is very flexible; they try their best to accommodate guests' needs and enhance their experience, as long as it doesn't disrupt hotel operations. Since fewer people were using the hot springs due to the hot weather, they upgraded my room and extended my check-out time, allowing me to enjoy a very comfortable soak.

If you want to see the 'blue tears' at Dujiangyan at night, it's about a seven to eight-minute walk to Xuanhua Gate, and then a leisurely stroll with snacks will get you there in about fifteen minutes. The room was decent, though a bit noisy since it's street-facing. They thoughtfully provided noise-canceling earplugs and an eye mask, which was a nice touch. Overall, I was satisfied.

The hotel offers pet-friendly rooms and even has an adorable mascot dog named 'Xigua Di' (Watermelon Patch) who 'works' every day. There's also a 24-hour fitness center on the 36th floor, where you can work out while enjoying city views.
From the moment I arrived, the concierge proactively helped with my luggage and gave me a baggage tag. The front desk staff were warm and efficient, and the operator, Mila, even contacted me before check-in to confirm my needs, which was very thoughtful. Whenever I had any issues, the staff were quick to help resolve them, making guests feel valued and cared for!!!

EEyes Hung SirThe hygiene, environment, and location were all excellent, really top-notch, so I'm giving 5 stars for that. My biggest complaint is the tiny laundry room. There were only two small washers and dryers, and with so many people using them, I couldn't even wash my clothes until after midnight during my two-night stay. And the dryer? It ran for two hours and my clothes were still damp – absolutely ridiculous! I'm also wondering if the restaurant's tablecloths are washed in the same machines as guest laundry (as shown in the picture). On top of that, there were used takeout containers left in the hallway outside rooms, and they were still there at 10 AM, completely untouched by hotel staff (as shown in the picture). It left a really bad impression. This is just my personal experience and not meant as a malicious bad review.

GGuest UserFive-star review! I’m truly impressed with my stay at Xishu Hotel. From the moment I checked in, the front desk staff were warm, attentive, and efficient. Their professionalism made the whole process smooth and pleasant. The room was spotless, well-designed, and comfortably arranged. All the facilities were modern and well maintained, and the attention to detail was excellent. The bed was especially comfortable, and I slept very well.
The overall atmosphere of the hotel is relaxing, and the public areas are kept in great condition as well. Whether it’s cleanliness, service, location, or overall convenience, everything exceeded my expectations. I genuinely couldn’t find any flaws during my stay. I will definitely choose Xishu Hotel again next time I’m in the area and will gladly recommend it to friends!

GGuest UserThis hotel left a deep impression on me. The service was meticulous, and I especially appreciated the alcohol-based sanitizers provided, which made me feel very secure. Although there seemed to be a minor issue with the fresh air system, the overall environment was still comfortable. The room was clean and well-equipped, completely meeting my needs. I will choose this hotel again next time and look forward to an even more perfect experience once the fresh air system is improved. It's also very convenient to get to other places, including Kuanzhai Alley.

In-room minibar: The hotel provides complimentary soft drinks and beer, so you can relax and unwind even without leaving the hotel. There are also snacks and capsule coffee provided, which is very thoughtful.
Overall, my stay was fantastic and very comfortable. The hotel's decor is stylish, and both the lobby and the room are elegant. It's very close to the scenic area, and the accommodation is nestled within Kuanzhai Alley, so you can step right out and explore. The exterior also blends in with the Kuanzhai Alley style, with a traditional Chinese feel that's ancient and charming, full of character. The room was clean and tidy. My room's interior, based on a modern Chinese style, also incorporated some purple tones, giving it a very mature and stable feel. Front desk staff Rora, Zoe, and Nancy provided warm and thoughtful service. Highly recommended!

Getting around was absolutely stress-free! The room's mattress and pillows were so comfortable, and the quiet environment meant I slept soundly until morning. The laundry room and gym facilities were excellent, making my stay very convenient. Whether catching an early flight or arriving late at night, the two subway lines made everything quick and easy. It was a comfortable stay with hassle-free travel, making it the perfect base for my trip to Chengdu. Highly recommend!

Location
On a long street with many restaurants and shops along the street and a self service ATM 5 -10 min walk away, including a small market in the mornings. It is a residential area, so you will most likely be the only foreigner, but people are extremely friendly and helpful, albeit the stares. The entrance faced the main road and was well lit. There is a flight of stairs that you will need to go up to get to the hostel area. If you have not tried hot pot, I would def recommend going to the Haichiniu Xianxianqie Beef Self service Hot Pot place which is around 5 mins walk down the road.
Quite far from the centre of the city however it is extremely easy to get to. During the day, there is a close proximity to the underground around 10 min walk, and there is a bus that I took from the city centre to right outside the hostel door where the bus stop was. If you are going through the night/early morning, it is extremely easy to catch a taxi through apps and it is quite cheap (around 40- 70 yen) and the road is very well lit. I felt completely safe in the area.
Service
Chu, the hostel aunty is warm and helpful, and gives you a sense of being home away from home. This included being made some home made dumplings to celebrate Golden Week which tasted delicious! She gave recommendations on places to go and made sure that I kept safe when out. As another review said, it can be a bit difficult communicating if you don't know Chinese as no English at the hostel or around the area is spoken and it can get quite draining/ mentally challenging at times for us, however Chu still tried her best to communicate regardless and I really appreciated the effort. To get around this and to make your stay more enjoyable, I would be sure to have WeChat set up prior so you can use the chat translator and have your google translate app out ready. (N.B Make sure you are able to set up the account and get the WeChat validation/security text through your HOME sim/data roaming as opposed to attempting to set up your account on your E-sim which won't work).
Facilities
It is a hostel that provides what you need. The things that took my British head some time to get around was the shower situation and the bed; namely the shower as it was more typical of an advanced bidet than standard shower. However, it was kept exceptionally clean after my first day there and I did my part of keeping it clean by bleaching it down. The bed is quite sturdy, typical of Chinese beds, so I would recommend bringing a blanket or similar to lay on the mattress so you can get to sleep. There is an upstairs area where you can use the washing machine or wash your clothes by hand and an open area to hang dry your clothes. Make sure you have some cash ready to give to Chu to use the machine. There is a vending machine that you can buy snacks for using the your WeChat pay. There is a seating area at the top where you can sit down and eat, smoke and chat. Once you are used to the different products used (i.e remembering the slippers, using the shower etc.), it becomes second nature and a very comfortable stay (funny story: I was sitting on a desk chair outside my room and being use to the chairs in the UK being quite heavy, I swung myself around and ended up falling off the chair LOL!).
Cleanliness
Like I mentioned above, the hostel is kept exceptionally clean and I had no concerns around hygiene once I got used to the shower situation. The cleanliness is what I can say was a huge benefit to the hostel. Considering how large the place is and Chu is the sole host, it is kept evidently very clean and Chu will be sure to tell you to tidy up too lool. People in China are not a fan of strong smells/ fragranced things so you will not smell bleach or such products but after seeing a storage room, I can assure they are being used!
