4-Star Hotels in Macau

Booked this hotel for a business trip over the weekend. Stepping into the lobby, I was immediately struck by how spacious it was, with high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows providing excellent natural light during the day. The room was even more impressive; I could fully open my suitcase and still walk around it comfortably. In the evening, I could work on emails from the sofa without feeling cramped. The shower had consistent water pressure, and the soundproofing was good, allowing me to sleep soundly in such a large space. It really helped alleviate a good portion of my work travel fatigue 🏨

This hotel offers excellent service. I was a bit worried at first because it's an older hotel, but when I arrived, I found that the facilities and equipment were meticulously maintained, and the cleanliness was impeccable. There were no 'legendary' creepy crawlies. The hotel's laundry room has plenty of machines, so you don't have to worry about waiting in line. There's also a gym and a swimming pool. For dining, there are both Chinese and Western restaurants, and a coffee shop on the ground floor with pretty good coffee. I stayed for two consecutive days and really appreciate the service from the front desk. As a first-timer in Macau 🇲🇴, I felt very well taken care of, and they helped me solve many annoying little problems! The housekeeping team was also very thoughtful; in the morning, I forgot to close my door while resting in the room, and when they saw me come out, they specifically reminded me. The price offers incredible value for money (compared to similarly priced hotels in Hong Kong, it's truly a no-brainer). Within 1 kilometer, there are affordable supermarkets and local eateries, and you can also walk to Grand Lisboa and New Yaohan, making it very convenient for exploring.

I have a well-established system for booking rooms, and as expected, our stay at Golden Dragon didn't disappoint my family this time either. For family members with rhinitis, rooms with carpets are a no-go, and while carpeting is quite common in Macau hotels, Golden Dragon met our needs perfectly. The hotel's facilities are comprehensive and very clean, making for a worry-free stay. The transportation from the hotel is convenient, catering to all kinds of travel needs. It's especially great that it's only a 10-15 minute walk to the ferry terminal, which is super convenient for us when traveling to Hong Kong by boat. Highly recommended!

This was my favorite hotel of the trip, no contest. First off, the location is excellent, perfect for a vacation where you can easily spend a whole day at the hotel. It's right by the Fisherman's Wharf, very quiet. While there's no car access right outside, you can walk to Sands Macao to catch a taxi or public transport. The facilities are great too – a bathtub, a balcony… especially the balcony for drying clothes, which is a huge advantage over many other hotels. When traveling in summer, you change clothes daily and need to wash them, so this was incredibly convenient. The Portuguese-style decor is well-executed, with great attention to detail. The price and comfort level also far surpass hotels in the resort areas. The food presentation was lovely, a mix of Western and Chinese. Although the buffet selection wasn't vast, the quality was excellent. The service attitude was also wonderful; they specially brought me extra hangers for drying clothes, and when I needed more water, they delivered it immediately. There are also water dispensers in the public areas – I was very impressed with the attention to detail. This will definitely be my top choice for my next trip to Macau. No wonder it's Rosy Zhao's choice; I'm glad I followed the celebrity's recommendation!

I frequently stay at Ascott properties on the mainland, and this was my first time trying one in Macau 🇲🇴. The experience exceeded my expectations and was absolutely wonderful! 🎉 I especially want to give a shout-out to Emma and Gary at the front desk. They upgraded my room and even provided a small gift for my colleague's birthday 🎂! Their service was super excellent. Full marks! The location is fantastic – close to everything. Since it's an apartment-style hotel, the room facilities are comprehensive and well-equipped! 👍 There are three restaurants on the ground floor of the hotel. You can't really talk about high value for money here, but it's fair and worth what you pay for. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Macau 🇲🇴.

The hotel exceeded my expectations. They provided a charging cable, slippers, toiletries, and even had a small indoor balcony with thick curtains. It's right next to Macao Polytechnic University, so a lot of guests stay here when dropping off their children for school.

The location is far from the city center, and it's very quiet around. Downstairs is Cheoc Van Beach, where many locals swim. The swimming area is quite large and not too crowded. Overall, it's pretty clean, but just too quiet. The hallway was particularly creepy, and the blue and white decor made me feel helpless. There's no elevator, so getting up and down is inconvenient; definitely don't bring elderly people to stay here. It's fine with kids, but they should ideally be able to walk on their own. It's good for a relaxing vacation, but I wouldn't recommend it for a first-time tourist as getting around is quite troublesome.

Attending a conference at Galaxy Arena in Macau. It's very convenient to get around, and there's a 24-hour San Miu Supermarket nearby. They also offer a shuttle service to Hengqin Port, which is super handy. The price was great too, and breakfast was decent with fruits and vegetables. Cunha Street is also close by.

The hotel is within walking distance of the Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal, which takes around 15–20 minutes even with luggage. There’s also a nearby public bus stop that provides convenient access to the Cotai area. The housekeeping staff were friendly as well. Overall, the stay was good, although the design feels a bit old-school. The in-house casino has also ceased operations since November 2025.

The hotel is a bit old, so the facilities feel a bit dated, but the cleaning lady was very enthusiastic, and the linens were clean. There's renovation work going on in the building, so it was noisy. The absolute best thing about this place is its location. It's perfect for anyone looking to do a deep dive into Macau's casinos. Wynn and StarWorld casinos are right across the street, and it's just a few minutes' walk to the old and new Grand Lisboa. After clearing customs at Gongbei Port, you can take the free shuttle bus from Wynn or StarWorld directly here. I'll definitely stay here again next time, and I'm sure by then the renovations will be finished and the room facilities improved.
