What Is the Vietnam Arrival Card?

Vietnam currently operates two separate but related entry documents:

  1. The Digital Pre-Arrival Card (New 2026) – A mandatory online declaration for travelers arriving at select airports, generating a QR code to speed up immigration.
  2. The NA1 Form (Entry/Exit Form) – The traditional arrival/departure declaration still required for Visa on Arrival (VOA) applicants and used at land/sea borders.

The NA1 Form replaced the old M3 form and serves as a combined entry/exit declaration that immigration officers stamp in your passport. The new Digital Pre-Arrival Card does not replace your visa or the NA1 (for VOA travelers) — it is an additional electronic step to reduce airport congestion.

Disclaimer: Immigration policies change frequently. Always verify requirements on the official Vietnam Immigration Department portal before departure.

  • Vietnamese citizens traveling on a Vietnamese passport
  • Same-day airside transit passengers who do not clear immigration

The room itself was pretty good. However, my friend stayed in a room where the closet doors were all mirrors, and he found that really uncomfortable! The hotel also has a pool, which is nice, and it's very convenient as it's close to my company.

The location is good, the room is very clean. The service is good too. I am happy with all of this. What made me unhappy and inconvenient, the reasons I gave two stars for amenties are as follows: 1) toilet - clean yes, but the water pump is top strong and inconvenient to press, feel like I am pressing a broken handle water pump. 2) trash bin - in the toilet, it is difficult to push down the cover, too strong, so always ended up touching my hand with the cover where most of the trashed from the toilet were in contact with while pushing down. In the room, the cover, always need to use hands to remove the cover. 3) Electricity plug sockets - should have at least two free, one each by each bed. But what we had to use is the one for TV plug, the one for night light bulb (between the bed). Only one free socket by the mirror in the bedroom. So very inconvenience for two persons to charge our phones or laptops.

Absolutely loved this hotel! The location is fantastic, perfect for city walking and exploring all the popular attractions in Ho Chi Minh City without needing a car. The hotel has a pool, and the rooms are really comfortable. We stayed over Christmas, and there was a choir singing in the lobby in the evening, which really added to the festive atmosphere. If I ever go back to Ho Chi Minh City, this will definitely be my top choice!

Had a wonderful stay at MAI HOUSE Saigon Hotel! The hotel was very clean, peaceful, and comfortable throughout our stay. The room service food arrived quickly and tasted great. Location was also very convenient — close to many attractions and only around 3 minutes walking distance to a convenience store. Even though it’s centrally located, the hotel was still quiet and relaxing at night. The staff were friendly and helpful as well. Would definitely stay here again when visiting Ho Chi Minh City!

Pros: amazingly delicious buffet breakfast from western to asian cuisines. Delicious food and always fresh seasonal fruits. Menu changes daily. Their Triple Roomnis quiet spacious with bonggavillas on window sills. Room is cleaned and linens changed on a daily basis. Bar at the rooftop with jacuzzis and spa pool which added to the zen vibes. Lobby is dimly lighted but just enough to light the way which I think uphholds to its ZEN vibes. The location is superb. Next to it are spas for hair, nails, massage and 3 mins walk right through ben thanh market, saigon square, saigon center. 10 mins walk to Notre Dame Cathedral. Easy to catch Grab. Staff are all very friendly, helpful and communicates in English well. Cons: they don't have a swimming pool as what is advertised on its amenities. It's more like a spa pool where clients can sit, dip and maybe drink some coctails while watching the night lights and relaxing with the zen environment. However, the spa pool is perfect for my 8 yo nephew. He can play, swim on the pool without us worrying that the water might be deep for him. Bath tub is high so its not good for a short elderly client who got issues with mobility. My 78 yo mom got a hard time climbing in and out of the tub as its also slippery. We finally managed by letting her sit on th edge of the tub first before putting her foot in/out of the tub and putting towel on the floor of the tub while she's showering.

A very nice urban hotel with many tourist locations within reasonable walking distance. The staff is helpful and sweet, rooms are clean. Breakfast is ok, it lacks variety and simple food in my opinion. But afternoon tea is fantastic. The swimming pool is not big and the suntanning area has limited place, but it was right in our floor, so we enjoyed it as much as we could. The gym has no AC, so it was mostly useless for me, as I always lack air everywhere. Our room had a whole other room with a dedicated kitchen and washing machine and living area, which is fantastic. But it is placed very to some kindergarten around the corner, which was very load and audible.

An absolutely amazing experience, I will definitely stay here again next time I visit Vietnam: Check-in (Top-notch): We were offered welcome snacks and drinks upon arrival, which was a lovely and unique touch. Room (Excellent): The room left a fantastic impression on me. The high ceilings made it feel incredibly spacious, and the solid wood flooring was very comfortable underfoot. Coupled with the genuine oil painting above the bed, the entire room exuded a sense of quality and sophistication—this is truly the kind of experience one expects from an established five-star hotel. The room also had a balcony overlooking the pool, which was warm and inviting with natural sunlight during the day. The air conditioner's outdoor unit was on the balcony, and while it made some noise at night, it wasn't overly disruptive. Breakfast (Excellent): Not only was there a wide variety, but the dishes also rotated. I had breakfast three times, and each time there were slight variations in the offerings, a level of thoughtfulness that is truly rare. Additionally, there were freshly prepared pho, omelets, and sandwiches. The chef could even customize omelets according to individual preferences, a service I've rarely encountered despite traveling to so many places. Service (Outstanding): Whether it was the doorman, the front desk staff, or the housekeeping team who cleaned our room daily, everyone was incredibly enthusiastic. Every evening during turn-down service, in addition to biscuits, a local short story was provided, which was a very thoughtful touch. In fact, the attention to service details can already be inferred from my previous descriptions; I'm giving it an 'outstanding' rating here. Location (Top-notch): The location is very central, with most attractions within a 30-minute walk. The only minor inconvenience was the lack of traffic lights at the intersection, which made crossing the street a bit tricky when there was heavy traffic. Overall, an outstanding hotel. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit.

The breakfast spread is quite good, and those who enjoy Western food will be happy. When I had breakfast between 7:45 AM and 8:10 AM, everyone except me (an Asian) was a Westerner. This is a hotel of contradictions. The facade is impressive. It's centrally located in District 1 near restaurants, shops and the Western quarter. The buffet breakfast selection is pleasing. The room size is generous. Staff are friendly and helpful. There's a forward thinking eco-friendly policy which clearly implemented throughout the hotel. However, the hotel is let down by some of its facilities. For example, in the bathroom a spa has been placed under a shower head so that when you shower the water runs down the wall and floods across the bathroom floor from one side to the other and in front of the hand basin. The hot and cold water taps turn on in opposite directions and the cold tap is not fitted properly which causes it to move. My children were unable to turn the shower on or off without adult help. The shower head is also too low and my 6 foot husband had to crouch down to shower. Another problem area is the rooftop pool area. The clear rooptop pool perimeter fence is woefully too low. I watched a child climb out of the pool to the ledge between the pool and the perimeter fence and I was very worried for his safety. One wrong slip or stumble and there's nothing stopping the child from toppling over the edge and 11 floors down. This hotel has a lot going for it but also has further room for improvement.

This place is hard to find even to some locals, and its especially hard for foreigners to come by for the first time. It's a newly building with security at the lobby, and there are shops and restaurants near by which is convenient. However; there is hardly a management of this property, we booked for 4days 3 nights and there were only 4 bottles in total and we had no respond when we required for more water bottles.(good thing is shops are close by.) Secondly, we also had no respond when we requied of house cleaning, we found and killed Cockroaches everyday. Last but not least, the third night of stay hot water running out, I had to take a cold shower. I don't mind taking cold showers in Vietnam's current weather, its just i didnt have an option of hot water makes this stay less worthy. There are also some pros of this property, the views are good, you get to see the landmark 81 building right outside the window, and some parts of river view. Besides the views, they use good quality bedding appliances (mattresses are great) and electrical appliances(dryer in your closet, you get to hang your wet clothes, sanitize and dry them). Overall, I would come back and live here if the management can starting to catch up.

I’ve been in Saigon for months now moving from hotel to hotel. The Myst Dong Khoi is an excellent choice among the options. The best feature, and one that matters a lot here, is quiet and peace. The Myst’s rooms are very quiet. I worked inside my room for hours and didn’t hear much. The hotel is cute and well run. Lovely staff. Efficient processes. Well priced and very well situated in a safe and western-friendly location.  I will absolutely stay here again.  And I did. For another week!! Areas of improvement include breakfast tables being placed just inches apart - hugely inappropriate and made me find other options for breakfast. I’d also do a better job separating families with rowdy kids and everyone else.

My third time at this hotel. Very convenient because of the location, the reception staff are very pleasant and happy to help you. The breakfast is very boring. Cheap ingredients. And the room is too small for the number of guests even though they added a room. Going down the stairs is not the most convenient. And the service lacks character, the cook does a great job and always fills in what is missing. You can see that he is professional and experienced. And he is also very friendly. But we took sandwiches for the long train ride and I must say that this was the biggest disappointment. Because I did not take a sandwich down to the kitchen for myself, because to get a sandwich from the dining room I am supposed to pay extra. Although only a few dollars, the principle is completely stupid. The sandwich I received was terrible, dry, boring, made from two slices of cheap bread, a kind of cheese leaf and a hard-boiled egg. Something really inedible. Bread that chokes you. I prefer nothing to this free nothing.

The room was a decent size, had everything I needed, and was very clean. However, the curtains were poorly designed, letting in light on both sides (see photo). I arrived late at night, and by the time I was settled, it was already 1 AM. As a result, I was woken up by the light at 6 AM. The breakfast was plentiful, with both Asian and Western options. There's also a restaurant on the third floor where you can have lunch and dinner, and the prices are reasonable. Many local Vietnamese families dine there. The hotel is close to all the tourist attractions, making it a good choice overall. My only complaint is that the front desk captain was unfriendly and unsmiling.

The hotel's location is excellent, very close to the Independence Palace and Ho Chi Minh Central Post Office, both about a 5-minute walk away. There are good restaurant options nearby, and if you want to take a city tour bus, you can catch it right in front of the post office. The hotel ambiance is great, with a vintage yet modern decor. The hotel's cleanliness is also commendable. For breakfast, they offer both Vietnamese local specialties and Western options. All hotel staff can speak English. If you'd like to see the traditional Vietnamese water puppet show, you can turn right out of the hotel and walk straight for about 10 minutes to the Golden Dragon Water Puppet Theater.

An amazing boutique hotel in District 3, just a short 10-min Gtab ride away from the more touristy District 1. We booked the corner suite to celebrate our anniversary and was glad we did! The moment we entered the room, we were greeted with a beautiful high-ceiling loft studio suite with lots of cosy and homey vibes. Best of all were the full-length windows that gave a very open rustic cabin lodge feel. Just needed a fireplace to complete it. Loved that it’s not a typical hotel room. Bathroom was just as spacious with a gigantic bath tub for 2! Only setback as highlighted by many other reviewers was the position of the shower, which causes water to pool near the doorway. A layout issue that would be good to fix. Ceiling fan was a little glitchy and didn’t work most of the time. But with the strong aircon, there really wasn’t a real need for the fan. Breakfast spread was great too. Not expansive, but just good with the essential stuff. On the whole, we loved our stay here - the proximity to tourist spots, fairly quiet surroundings, and clean environment. Though a bit pricier as a boutique hotel, we would not hesitate to be back.

This hotel is absolute worth it. The service is amazing as they greet you at the door and help bring your luggage up to your room. My room has an amazing balcony view and was super spacious. The rooftop pool is beautiful and offers one of the best views of the city and the complimentary afternoon tea is delicious.

Highly recommend anyone coming to Ho Chi Minh City to stay here! Location is super nice & close to main attractions, staffs are very thoughtful & attentive, room is clean & interior is very unique. The hotel also has a skyroof-like restaurant which serves fusion food and the prices are still affordable for me. They also give out complimentary drinks and afternoon tea time to guest. You can also borrow powerbank, city bikes, and traditional hat for free at the reception. Plus, when I am about to travel back to the airport, they have a special Grab code for the guests of this hotel that gives you 20% off! Very nice experience indeed

1.Location: This hotel locate at a very good place. You can just walk by foot to many tourist attractions. And there are many brilliant restaurants nearby.(Except Lebanhmi) 2.Service: The hotel guy will help you to pick up the luggages. And their service is very good that should make you very comfortable. 3.Room: I really don’t care about the size of the room. But the soundproofing is REALLY REALLY TERRIBLE. I stayed in hotel for three days. Every night, may be around 1:00-3:00AM. I can hear very clearly about the big bang sound outside for someone opening the door or their talking voice. That really made me very nervous. I suggest the hotel can consider about changing the soundproof materials of the door. If they can improve this concept, I may rebook for next trip in Saigon.

We stayed for six nights. Pros: - Excellent location in a tourist area, close to all amenities and shops. - Polite service with excellent English. - Daily towel changes, room cleaning, water, and toiletries. - Great cafe right outside on the ground floor. - Good breakfast from 7 to 10 AM, but the later you go, the less selection there is. - Air conditioning works perfectly. - Real plants with drip irrigation – very nice. - At first glance, a cozy room with a balcony. Cons: - Due to the plants on the balcony, tiny bugs constantly crawl around the room, bed, and bathroom. They are harmless, like specks of sand, but caused a slight discomfort. - The bathroom wasn't the cleanest due to humidity and old renovations. It was always cleaned, but it looked old and musty. - Not all drinks were refilled daily, contrary to what some reviews mentioned. Initially, there was beer, Pepsi, tea, and water. - Poor soundproofing; noises from the corridor and the neighboring room were audible. - And most importantly – street noise. A closed balcony didn't help; there was noise on the street until midnight and starting at 9 AM. Sports broadcasts, hawkers, construction from neighboring buildings – everything was audible, as if you were right on the street. Since our balcony faced the street, we experienced this; perhaps there are other room options with windows facing inwards. Overall, the hotel isn't bad for its price and genuinely tries to be good, but the longer we stayed, the more downsides we noticed. We wish them continued improvement!
