How to Ride & Pay for Xiamen Metro
Riding the metro is straightforward, clean, and highly secure.
1.Choose your payment method:
You have three main options:
- Alipay/WeChat Pay: The easiest method. Simply open the "Transport" or "Transit QR Code" option in either app, link your international credit card, and scan the QR code directly at the turnstiles.
- E-Tong Card (E通卡): A physical, rechargeable transit card available at station service counters.
- Single-Trip Tokens / 1-Day Passes: Purchase physical single-ride tokens or a 24-hour pass using cash at the touchscreen ticket vending machines in the concourse.
2.Pass security:
Place all bags, backpacks, and large items through the X-ray scanners at the security checkpoints located before the ticket gates.
3.Tap and board:
Tap your phone screen (QR code), transit card, or token on the sensor at the entry gate. Follow the clear bilingual (English and Chinese) signs to your platform.
4.Exit the station:
When you reach your destination, tap your phone or card again to exit. If you used a single-trip token, insert it into the slot on top of the exit gate to recycle it.

Having never stayed at a Pan Pacific hotel, I had no idea what to expect, but it really impressed me!
The gym definitely stood out, the equipment was so smooth and well-maintained, easily the best hotel gym I’ve used in a while.
What really made the difference was the team.
Everyone I spoke with was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the stay feel personal and warm. The team kindly helped, sharing directions and local tips and insights. From travel times to sharing maps, they couldn’t have been kinder in helping.
The room was cosy and comfortable and I personally slept really well (better than at home!) the location worked well for me too, I found it calm and well connected. It was an stress-free, enjoyable experience to stay at this Pan Pacific and I plan to stay again. :)

The sky had already darkened upon arrival. Winding our way up the tree-lined paths of Xian'gueshan Mountain, the air gradually became moist and cool. It felt like a magical escape from the bustling, humid city, into a 'city oasis' nestled in the mountains. The moment I opened the room door after checking in, the fatigue from the journey instantly melted away.
Room | A Mountain Holiday Opened by a Courtyard
The room felt very spacious, with a layout of about 40 square meters that was just right. What surprised me the most, naturally, was the exquisite private balcony. Le Méridien's room types each offer different views, and I chose the garden view balcony room specifically for a quiet, relaxing stay. After all, in a mountain setting surrounded by dense vegetation, a few insects are perfectly normal, and the garden view neatly sidestepped that issue. Opening the window in the morning, the lush green central courtyard came into view. Instead of the city's hustle and bustle, I heard the crisp, pleasant chirping of morning birds and the sweet, fresh air blowing from the mountains. I couldn't help but close my eyes and take several deep breaths. Returning to the room in the evening, I lay on the balcony chair, clearing my mind, sipping an iced cola while enjoying the mountain breeze—this is exactly what a vacation should be like.
The room's hardware can be summed up in two words: solid and reliable. Beyond being clean and tidy, the 'rainforest' shower's stable water pressure and temperature were truly impressive. The hotel also thoughtfully implemented a dry-wet separation in the bathroom, completely eliminating the awkwardness of worrying about splashing the toilet while showering. Compared to many coastal hotels that face the humidity and noise of sea winds, the mountain landscape here truly provides another level of spiritual enjoyment. The hotel's artistic atmosphere, from the corridors to the public spaces, everywhere you can feel the unique imprint of French aesthetics. Whether it's the artistic flair of the chandeliers or the fragrance in the lobby, everything constantly reminds me that I'm staying in a stylish Le Méridien. The dense vegetation surrounding the hotel makes it feel like living in a natural oxygen bar. A morning jog in Xian'gueshan Park, enjoying the pleasure of sweating freely in the mountains, is a unique experience that you can never feel in a hotel gym.

The staff, from the front desk to the concierge, maintained a perfectly measured, welcoming smile. During check-in, the front desk lady patiently asked about my preferences. Knowing that I valued privacy and quiet, she specifically helped arrange a room set apart from other guests on the same floor, handling everything gently and efficiently, which was truly heartwarming. The hotel also provides a free shuttle bus service down the mountain, making it convenient to travel to the Seaworld shopping center and Dongdu Ferry Terminal. On weekends and holidays, there's even a free shuttle bus connecting to popular attractions like Zhongshan Road and Baicheng Beach. One evening, a guest was inconsiderately skipping rope upstairs; after calling the front desk, they responded immediately and resolved the issue quickly! Truly commendable!
Conclusion
On the day of check-out, the morning sun still gently warmed the garden view balcony, as if possessing a magic that made me reluctant to close the door and leave. To be honest, I've stayed in many hotels, but rarely have I felt such a pang of reluctance upon departure as this time. I've lost count of how many times I've stayed at this hotel; it's always a reliable choice. Since 2019, I must have stayed at least 50 times. While the facilities are showing a little bit of age now (they're still great, thanks to the excellent original design and materials), you can clearly see the effort from all the staff. Their exceptional service more than makes up for any minor wear and tear, truly making it one of the best hotels around.
There are three main reasons I'm writing such a detailed review this time:
1. The pool is constantly supervised by staff, genuinely concerned about children's safety. (I'd confidently say no other outdoor pool in Xiamen offers this level of attentiveness.)
2. The dining service is consistently warm and enthusiastic, and the food at the 9th-floor Chinese restaurant is delicious.
3. A special shout-out to the kids' club attendant on the first basement level. They were incredibly friendly; when I asked for a cotton swab, they specifically went to another department to retrieve it and brought it to me.
In summary: For a budget of around 1000 RMB in Xiamen, I still highly recommend this hotel. Many five-star hotels today fail to provide truly thoughtful service, but for us, a comfortable and emotionally satisfying experience (which is the most important part) is what we seek in a hotel.FromUS$99

This hotel completely exceeded my expectations for this trip, and we were attended by Manager Evelyn! I often saw her name in reviews, so I was surprised to meet her in person, haha. As soon as I checked in, I was rushing with a lot of luggage, and Evelyn was so gentle and patient throughout. She proactively upgraded us to a room with an amazing view and thoughtfully recommended some niche local eateries and travel tips. She was efficient and friendly, and any issues we had afterward were quickly and properly resolved by her.
It happened to rain in Xiamen during our stay, and Evelyn even went out of her way to text us, reminding us to bring an umbrella. Later, we tried the breakfast buffet, which had a rich variety of options, including Chinese and Western dishes, freshly ground coffee, desserts, and fruits. I saw the photo and felt great. I found that some of the photos were not from this one. They were next door. There were drying racks on the top floor. The room had a bathtub. The hot water was opened and the bath ball was sent, but it was not a hot spring. The windows of the room were very large. It was seen that the cars in the parking lot were all in the parking lot. There is also the master waiting for the guests in the car, and I can see the merchant next door, and the passers-by who have been pulling the curtains all the time, otherwise it is really embarrassing. Afternoon tea, I sent snacks and fruits. There are a lot of water on the first floor to replenish. I went to the first floor too early to put my luggage. The hot spring in the yard is too suitable for the whole family to soak together. The water temperature is gentle and not hot, especially the spa pool parents said that the joint pain was relieved. We were soaking and chatting, and the atmosphere was particularly warm. The room is spacious and bright, the bedding is soft, and the elderly and children sleep very comfortably. In their spare time, parents make tea in the lobby on the first floor, and the handsome boss will accompany them throughout the whole process. I was happy with this hotel from the moment I arrived. The doorman, whose name I didn't catch, proactively opened the car door and helped with my luggage. Seeing I had a child with me, he even took all my bags to the lobby while I checked in. Lin Jiankai at the front desk handled my check-in, patiently answering all my questions. I requested a quiet room and ended up on the top floor. The room was a good distance from the executive lounge, so it was very quiet, yet still conveniently located for easy access to the lounge.
My visit to Xiamen for the May Day holiday was primarily due to the hotel's excellent transportation links. It was a 30-minute taxi ride to the Botanical Garden (due to holiday traffic), and less than 10 minutes by taxi to SM and MixC malls. The hotel itself is connected to Panji Center, which offers a variety of dining options and a cinema. As soon as we checked in, we went to Tongren Siji Coconut Chicken, which was only about 50 meters from the front desk – so convenient and delicious!
When I got to the room, I initially thought it might not be very bright based on the online photos, but it was actually very well-lit. You could also request staff to open the windows. I didn't take photos when I first entered, and later the room got a bit messy, so I didn't bother. A few details about the room really stood out: a shoe shine kit and cloth, and by the bathtub, there were disposable tub liners, a loofah, and bath salts. These little touches are a huge plus for me, as many hotels only provide these upon request. The next day, the cleaning lady even left a pack of Heart to Heart facial tissues by the sink, which I think speaks to the quality of the hotel's amenities. Again, many five-star hotels have tissues that fall apart easily.
Now, for the executive lounge: The afternoon tea offers three types of pastries and fruit. While not extensive in variety, the quality of the pastries is superb and very tasty. As someone with high standards for desserts, I give Panji Hilton's desserts a five-star rating. Happy Hour, starting at 6:00 PM, is even more impressive, with at least seven or eight hot dishes. On the first night, there was black garlic duck soup, and on the second night, morel mushroom chicken soup, along with roasted lamb. The evening desserts were different from the afternoon selection, and again, they were absolutely delicious! Also, there's a lovely staff member in the lounge, Ms. Cao Mengying, who is incredibly professional. Not only did she provide meticulous service in the lounge, but since I was staying on that floor, she would always greet me whenever I left or returned, making me feel truly at home.
The hotel's smart features are also up-to-date, with an electric toilet in the room and robots that can deliver meals. Regarding service, I had an unexpected injury at the hotel. Trip.com's customer service followed up promptly and with concern, and the hotel also handled it very efficiently. They even called the next day to check on my wound and left a box of cheese sticks in the fridge for me. For other requests, like mineral water, Kung Fu tea sets, and bed rails, the hotel provided everything I needed. Thumbs up!

Reuniting with friends after a long time, five of us traveled together and wanted to stay in one space! We were so pleasantly surprised to find this suite that could accommodate all of us in one room! No need to split up, it was lively and comfortable the whole time, and our travel happiness factor was off the charts~
The bathroom design was especially thoughtful, with a complete wet/dry separation, and the shower and toilet were independently separated. The double sink design was fantastic! We could all get ready and wash up at the same time without feeling cramped; it even had a bathtub, perfect for a relaxing soak after a long day of fun~
One side of the room offered a sea view. While not a full frontal sea view, the expansive vista and ambiance were amazing, and every photo turned out beautifully.
The amenities were comprehensive. The first round of drinks in the room's mini-fridge was complimentary, and it also came with a full tea set, wine glasses, along with free tea bags and coffee, making it convenient for a drink or a chat over tea. The room type was a king bed plus a sofa bed, so five people staying didn't feel crowded at all. You can contact housekeeping to request extra blankets!
The hotel service was truly attentive! Before check-in, our dedicated butler proactively communicated about our arrival time and followed up attentively throughout. After check-in, any request was met promptly, with detailed and unperfunctory service. They even offered complimentary drinks from the bar. The service experience was top-notch!
The breakfast spread was rich and varied, a combination of Chinese and Western options, and very delicious~ Overall, the room was clean and tidy with excellent natural light. The hotel is located directly opposite the beach, though the area is a bit secluded, perfect for a comfortable and relaxing vacation.
The only minor regret was not having enough time to experience facilities like the gym and swimming pool. Also, there were few indoor seats; it would be even better with a couple more chairs. Overall, both the value for money and the experience were excellent. It's the top choice for group travel, and I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Xiamen!FromUS$60

It was my first time to travel to Xiamen. Huang Zhiwei, the hotel receptionist, was enthusiastic and greeted us with a smile. He accompanied us throughout the check-in process, helped with the luggage, and accompanied us to the room. The property is located near Train Line 1 at Zhenhai Road Station, about a 3–5 minute walk away. Please note there is a steep road with uphill and downhill sections.
A 3-minute walk will take you to Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street and Zhonghua City.
The Eighth Market (Bashi) is about a 15–20 minute walk from the hotel.
Staff and service:
The front desk staffs and cleaning aunties are friendly and helpful. However, I noticed that the aunties in the breakfast restaurant tend to chat a lot among themselves and only attend to guests when someone asks for something.
I preferred a window room, but just be aware that you can hear the restaurants across the road shouting to attract customers, (p/s: the front desk staff has highlighted it during check-in). When the street is less crowded, you can even hear the ”Alipay payment received” announcement (”Zhifubao daozhang”).
The water temperature was not hot enough on my last day stay, not too sure why.
