Our stay at Meriton Suites Kent Street was fantastic! The location is right in the heart of the city — walking distance to Darling Harbour, Town Hall Station, and plenty of shops and restaurants. The suite was spacious, modern, and spotless, with a fully equipped kitchen and laundry facilities that made our trip so much more convenient. The bed was very comfortable, and we loved having a separate living area to relax in after a long day exploring Sydney. The staff were friendly and helpful, always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. Having an indoor pool, spa, and gym on-site was a great bonus too. Highly recommend Meriton Suites Kent Street for anyone looking for comfort, space, and excellent value in a central Sydney location.

I have a wonderful experience during my stay at the hotel. First thing I stepped into the hotel, there was really subtle nice but not over-powering aroma . Really pleasant indeed. The hotel situated right in the city centre and easy to get around. The hotel was so kind to meet my request for a quiet room location. The hotel has bar, and restaurants. Really good to organise functions and events there. The hotel has heritage-vibe, but nice layout and very clean. I would love to visit there again if I have a chance.

The staff were very helpful. We were able to get early access to our room. Loved the 12pm check out too! The pool, spa and steam room were lovely. Sadly our bathroom was very smelly making it unpleasant to have the door open. As we were only there one night and at a function until late we didn’t try to change rooms but did report it at check out. All in all a pleasant stay.

The location is fantastic, located by the Darling Harbour, you can reach the Aquarium and Darling Harbour within 3-5 minutes. You can also access Sydney CBD (QVB etc.) easily. For the staff, they are super friendly and helpful. Despite I didn't request a daily room cleaning service, they tidied my room every day. If you don't want to have such service, you can definitely require not to too. The view of my room is amazing, you can enjoy the view of Darling Harbour. And one more thing which I found quite important is that the room has a perfect soundproof. Since it's winter in August, it's quite cold in Sydney. The lobby has very warm temperature and cozy vibe. However, the room's air conditioning didn't provide a warm temperature that I satisfied, the room temperature remains between 18-20 °C during our stay, it would be perfect if it's like 23-25 °C. And this was the only down side I can think of, other than that, I had a perfect stay!

Overpriced hotel. Room and bathroom were spacious but dusty. A lot of dust everywhere so I will definitely not recommend this hotel to customers with dust allergy. Refilling tea, coffe bags etc not everyday. Room looks like from last century 50's - about time for the renovation. Great location so I guess the price is only connect to the location.

I particularly enjoyed the stunning view from my window and the complimentary breakfast, which offered a variety of delicious options. Overall, it exceeded my expectations. The suite had huge windows, and housekeeping cleaned daily. The kitchen facilities were complete, though I was hesitant to use the stove for fear of setting off the fire alarm. Was it $1460 or something like that? **Location:** The location is excellent. It’s a short walk to QVB and other places in the city. We even walked to the Opera House. Coming back from the outlet mall, it was a direct bus ride. **Service:** Good, the front desk staff were friendly. Even though there's no breakfast, it's easy to find breakfast nearby, so it wasn't a big deal. The only thing to note is that there's a lot of noise from racing cars or sirens (or ambulances?) outside the window at night.

Pros: - My flight arrived early, and the front desk was very considerate and let me check in early. - The room was large, with a kitchen and washer-dryer. - The location was great, with a nice view, just a stone's throw from Circular Quay and the Opera House. Cons: - The air conditioner in the room was broken, making it a bit chilly at night. Two repairs failed to fix it, so I didn't want to bother with it and asked them to come back the next day. I even left a note, but it still wasn't fixed. It rained a lot in Sydney during my stay, so the mornings were still quite cold. - The bathroom sink drain was clogged and water was stagnant. - The washing machine drain had a slightly foul smell. - Breakfast was a la carte, not buffet style.

The hotel boasts a prime downtown location, directly opposite Hyde Park, with St. Mary's Cathedral just a short walk through the park. Sydney Tower, offering panoramic views from its revolving restaurant, is also conveniently across a side street. This makes it an ideal spot for city walks, as most major attractions and Chinatown are within easy walking distance. Public buses offer direct access to the University of Sydney, and a subway station is right across the road. Plus, there are abundant dining options nearby. The front desk service was rather subpar. In the morning, I was confirmed and signed for a room on the 18th floor, only to be moved to the 14th floor when I officially checked in that afternoon. When I inquired why I was assigned a lower floor, I was told it was an 'upgrade' because my Ctrip booking was supposedly for a room below the 7th floor – a detail I couldn't find anywhere in my booking confirmation. The most annoying part was that I had specifically requested a room away from the elevators when booking, yet I was given one right next to them. As we had booked two adjoining rooms, a change wasn't feasible. Fortunately, the room was surprisingly quiet despite its proximity to the elevator. To make matters worse, essential items were missing from the room daily, requiring me to call for them, which then took 10-15 minutes to be delivered. On a rainy day, when I finally went out around 4 PM, I did notice a young cleaning staff member who was remarkably efficient, polite, and quick at her tasks. The hotel breakfast was quite good (though certainly not on par with top-tier 5-star hotels in China). The prawn noodles were a particular favorite, but disappointingly, they were unavailable on our last day. For the first three days, the waitstaff didn't offer us coffee or tea after seating us. On the fourth day, we were finally asked, but the coffee we ordered never arrived, even by the time we finished our meal. Over the subsequent days, I observed that most other guests seemed to have coffee, but I didn't inquire about the discrepancy and won't speculate. On a positive note, the restaurant staff were generally polite. Regarding other facilities, they were quite standard, meeting typical 5-star hotel expectations but falling short of a luxury 5-star experience.

The corner room was very spacious and comfortable for a family stay. There's also a small balcony. The kitchen is well-equipped with coffee and tea provided. The minibar is chargeable, and there are no toothbrushes or slippers. The only 'bug' was that the third bed in the triple room was in the living room and had a glass door that let in all the light, so we were woken up by the brightness early in the morning.

As we have never stayed in a hostel type of accommodation we knew we were gong to have our own bathroom before we were pleasantly surprised to have a room with a television, tea making facilities and china & cutlery. The weather was extremely hot and to have a modern fan was also a bonus. The building was old so the facilities were adequate - the bed was firm, the linen was rather thin but the towels were newish. We even had a nice view from the large picture window overlooking the pool area and playing fields beyond. The facilities and restaurants attached to the hotel added to the overall convenience. The location is fantastic. Most major city attractions are within walking distance, and the free tram stop is just around the corner. Australia's two main supermarkets, Coles and Woolworths, are also only a short walk away, and it's right next to the library. The room I booked came with amenities like a microwave and a kettle, which made it very convenient for heating up groceries. The room was perfectly adequate for two people. For those booking a small group tour to the Great Ocean Road via Ctrip, hotel pick-up is available. Overall, despite the room showing its age, it was perfectly sufficient and served its purpose well – definitely good value for money. Breakfast was quite good. We initially booked just two nights at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne, but the outstanding service we received made us extend our stay—and I’m so glad we did. The level of attentiveness and genuine care shown by the staff truly elevated our experience. One moment that stood out was during breakfast. My husband asked a staff member at the pastry section whether the items were halal. She explained it to him politely, and to our surprise, about 15 minutes later, the Assistant Director of the restaurant, Mr. Albert, personally came to our table. He took the time to explain the halal options available and even assured us that eggs could be prepared using separate utensils. While I was getting bread, Mr. Albert noticed and came over again, kindly asking if I would like my eggs prepared then. He immediately instructed the chef to prepare eggs and nuggets for me and told me to sit comfortably while he arranged everything to be brought over. His thoughtfulness and proactive service left a lasting impression. It’s rare to see such initiative and care, and it made me feel confident that I had chosen the right hotel. I will definitely recommend Grand Hyatt Melbourne to my family and friends. The hotel is fortunate to have a staff member like Mr. Albert—he truly deserves recognition for his outstanding hospitality.

The hotel's location is quite convenient; it's about a 10-minute walk to shopping areas, and Chinatown isn't too far either. It's especially suitable for families with children, as they offer family rooms. The two-bedroom, one-living room layout is excellent, with bedrooms on either side of the living room, which helps maintain privacy. Hotel front desk staffs were very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed talking to them. Hotel room is just perfect for a Solo traveller in terms of room size, facilities, lighting, etc. I love the room interior. It looks bright and motivating. Lighting is bright which I always prefer and I have the option to switch off some lights if I want it a bit darker before sleeping. Toilet looks compact but there is certainly enough space to take shower and do other stuff. There is a sofa which makes the room look more classy. The bed, pillow and sofa are very comfortable. I was able to adjust the Aircon and keep myself warm and comfortable. In room dining service was excellent. I ordered a vegetarian dish and it was tasty. Stayed at Ibis Kingsgate for two weeks as I was here to celebrate my birthday. It is my second time staying here; I also came here last year for two weeks and for my birthday! The hotel is located within a good and safe area - which is great for solo travellers such as myself. I’ve seen families at this hotel too. Ibis Kingsgate is within the free tram zone (you can take the 86 or 96), with access to many amenities nearby such as Coles, Woolies, Southern Cross Station (great for when you have to catch the SkyBus), My Chemist, and a range of food and cafe options. Located at the cross junction of King and Bourke St, the hotel is also walking distance to other popular streets such Elizabeth, Queen, Williams, Colins, Lonsdale, La Trobe, and more! Flinders is nearby too, and you can just cut across to Southbank as well! In fact, you can even walk to Lygon, Docklands or even as far as Collingwood, which I did! If walking is not your thing, there are also many options for trams, trains, and buses near this hotel. Room is adequate and clean, with a nice range of television channels. There’s a fridge, kettle and tea/coffee which is occasionally refilled. Bathroom is good too; sufficient and spacious enough, and for some - there’s even a window in the bathroom! The hotel staff are nice and it’s always great to be back. Thank you for the room upgrade, it made my trip even more special. I returned the gesture by keeping the room as clean and tidy as possible. ;p Until next time! See ya later!

Novotel Melbourne on Collins was a fantastic base for our family trip! The location truly is perfect – having multiple free city tram stops within 100 meters made exploring effortless. We easily walked to major spots like Flinders Street Station and the stunning State Library Victoria. Food options were plentiful nearby, making ”food hunting” a breeze. A major plus for us was the onsite parking. Renting a car was stress-free knowing we had a guaranteed, convenient spot each night (parking fee applicable, refer to hotel front desk). The room was impressively spacious, comfortably accommodating our family of two adults and a kid. Having two queen-size beds was ideal – everyone had plenty of room to sleep well. **Things that could elevate the experience further:** 1. Breakfast Variety: While the breakfast was good, a wider selection of hot and cold options would be appreciated, especially for a longer stay. 2. TV Upgrade: The current TV channel is very limited. Upgrading to Smart TVs with access to streaming platforms like Netflix and YouTube would be a huge improvement for in-room entertainment, especially for families with young kids / toddler. 3. Shaving Kit Quality:The provided shaving kit's ”cream” (which was a soap) and blade weren't great. Offering a slightly higher quality kit with proper shaving cream would be a noticeable touch. **Overall:** We had a very comfortable and convenient stay thanks to the unbeatable location, easy parking, and spacious family room. Addressing the breakfast variety, TV upgrade, and shaving kit quality would easily push this towards a perfect 5-star experience. Highly recommended, especially for families needing space and city access.

Check-in was smooth and the staff were genuinely friendly, creating a great first impression. The hotel’s location is ideal—nestled between two major roads within the CBD’s free tram zone. My room was on the 9/F and top floor, spacious and well-appointed. Though the hotel is surrounded by buildings and doesn’t offer any view, it’s peaceful and practical. coin-operated laundry and dryer are available onsite, with laundry powder sold at reception for $1 AUD, which is quite handy for extended stays. The television doesn’t support direct login to streaming platforms like Netflix, but I easily mirrored content from my personal device. This workaround worked well for casual viewing during my downtime. There were a few downsides. One pillow had a visible mold stain, which raised a hygiene concern. I had my Do Not Disturb sign displayed throughout my stay, yet housekeeping entered and cleaned the room on my final day. It was an unexpected breach of privacy, and I hope the hotel takes note and reinforces respect for guest preferences. Despite these minor issues, the overall experience was highly satisfying. The combination of its prime location, spacious rooms, thoughtful amenities, and friendly service makes this hotel a dependable and comfortable choice.

If you’re looking for a hotel with high-rise city views, this may not be the one for you. But if you appreciate heritage architecture, this is a fantastic choice. Housed in a beautifully restored former equity building, the hotel blends classic charm with modern comfort. I especially liked the historic elevator features and the Luci restaurant, whose vintage design adds a unique touch to the breakfast experience. Speaking of which, breakfast was lovely - THOUGH I do wish barista-made coffee was included, considering the price point. Service throughout the hotel was consistently excellent. The front desk staff were warm and welcoming, creating a human and heartfelt atmosphere right from check-in. Room service was impressively responsive. One time our in-room dining order arrived a bit late, but the kitchen made up for it with a thoughtful gesture, which really enhanced the overall experience. The bathroom had a semi-open shower design, but water didn’t splash out much, so it wasn’t an issue. I also really appreciated the full set of Hunter Lab toiletries. The hotel was easy to find and offered 24-hour free parking, though it cost $80 a day. However, street parking in front and behind the hotel was free from 6:30 PM to 7:30 AM. After 7:30 AM, you had to pay, with rates of $4 per hour on weekdays and $2 on weekends. You might need to search a bit for a spot. The room was spacious and came with slippers. They provided four bottles of mineral water daily, and if that wasn't enough, they'd send more upon request – room service was super fast! The room was also very clean. The breakfast selection wasn't huge, but it was very refined. The buffet restaurant had a unique tiered design. Since I had a stroller, they set me up on a separate level with plenty of space, so it didn't bother anyone. The only minor inconvenience was needing help carrying the stroller up and down the stairs, but the staff were always willing to assist. I loved the convenient yet quiet location. It was a 12-15 minute walk to Chinatown and just a 2-minute walk to the tram stop. There's also a large park right outside for a relaxing stroll.
