Overall, it's okay, but the facilities are not as good as other Meriton properties, perhaps because it's an older one. The mandatory credit card policy isn't great, as you have to pay extra credit card service fees! This wouldn't be an issue with cash, but Meriton only accepts credit cards. I ended up paying over 400 extra for a 9-night stay, which I'm not happy about.

Great location, but I wasn't happy with the service. 1. They mixed up the names for luggage storage with the guest who checked in. 2. The Indian staff member who delivered the luggage had a bad attitude. 3. When I called for mineral water, the DND (Do Not Disturb) sign was already on, but the staff still knocked on the door. 4. I asked for two bottles of water and an ice bucket, but they gave me three bottles of water and no ice bucket. On the plus side, the city view from the higher floors is quite nice, and you can go shopping right downstairs. The atmosphere at Level 1, The Place, is also very comfortable.

We booked this room type specifically for access to the 35F Club Millesime lounge — something we discovered only exists for select room categories during a previous stay. Check-in took around 15 minutes as the room wasn’t ready on time, but the staff made up for it with attentive service, personally escorting us up to the 35th floor. We lucked out with a corner table during afternoon tea and enjoyed a stunning 270° panoramic view — a definite highlight. The evening session (17:30–19:30) was a letdown. When we arrived around 6pm, we were told the lounge was full and offered in-room delivery instead. We waited over an hour and a half, received very little food, and the champagne we had already ordered upstairs was forgotten — we had to ask again before it was brought to us. As for breakfast, Level 3 offers a wider spread; the 35F lounge wins on ambience and views but not variety. Overall, the 35F lounge simply cannot accommodate all eligible guests. If the experience is the main draw of your stay, be prepared for the possibility of being turned away — which is genuinely disappointing given the room premium.

We had a fantastic stay at Paradox Hotel Sydney. The location is excellent — super central and very easy to get to, whether you’re coming in by car or public transport. It’s right near plenty of great bars and restaurants, so there’s always something happening nearby and lots of options within walking distance. The room was very clean and a great size, with plenty of space to relax. Everything felt well maintained and comfortable. The hotel staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. We also made the most of the amenities — the pool and spa were a highlight and a great way to unwind after being out in the city. Overall, we had a really enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend Paradox Hotel Sydney to others looking for a central and comfortable place to stay.

The fireworks at Darling Harbour were absolutely stunning, and our room faced Darling Harbour directly. The kids basically lived on the balcony, doing homework, watching fireworks, and eating – they called it the best hotel of the trip. Personally, I found the room a bit small; once we opened our two 28-inch suitcases, there was no space left. Also, the lighting was a bit dim and lacked brightness. Breakfast was quite Western-style, good quality but with limited variety. The kids were quite sad when they realized there was no ice cream, no chocolate fountain, no dessert bar, and no self-service juice (compared to the Crown in Melbourne and Langham where we stayed). But as parents, we were thrilled! Less sugar intake, and the fruits and yogurt were excellent quality. The eggs used for omelets and Eggs Benedict were organic. The downside is that it's a bit far from the subway station, and the walk back to the hotel area at night felt a little dark. My biggest complaint is that in the morning, the kids left a cup on the breakfast table, and when we checked out, they wouldn't even look for it, claiming the breakfast bar staff had gone off duty. My daughter was very upset about her Tiger thermos and even cried.

Excellent location just a couple mins walk from Town Hall station. Also has a Woolworth conveniently nearby and QVB is just across the road. Room was clean, room service was excellent and towels were replaced daily. Mini fridge and iron too in the room if needed. Bathroom is spacious enough and concierge is very friendly.

The room amenities, cleanliness, and location were all great. The only downside was the lack of a screen window, which let in quite a few moths and really put a damper on my mood. The apartment allows you to make your own breakfast, and it's conveniently located not far from a supermarket.

The hotel's location is fantastic, just a few minutes' walk to the Sydney Opera House and the Royal Botanic Garden. It's also super convenient for catching a ferry from the wharf. The hotel's parking is actually at a Wilson Parking lot. We were told that booking overnight parking in advance through the Wilson app would be much cheaper; we didn't pre-book and it cost us 67 AUD for one night. If you're driving, you can navigate directly to Wilson Parking - Sofitel Wentworth, Sydney CBD, NSW Car Park. The car park entrance is on Blight Street, just behind the hotel's main entrance. When you arrive, you leave your keys with the Wilson staff and they'll park the car for you. You pay when you pick up the car, and they'll bring it back out to you.

The location is fantastic, with many attractions within walking distance. It's especially convenient to Darling Harbour, just a 5-minute stroll away, perfect for an evening walk or dinner. We were a group of four and booked a suite with two bedrooms – one with a king bed and the other with two single beds – and we all slept very comfortably. We were also pleasantly surprised by the additional amenities like a small kitchen and a washing machine. The only downside is that the hotel is a bit old, so some of the facilities are a bit dated. Our room, for instance, had a portable floor-standing air conditioner.

Absolutely superb hotel. The location is obviously perfect, being just a couple of minutes from Circular Quay train station and on top of the wharf for ferries to everywhere as well as just across the road from the Royal Botanic Garden and a short stroll from the Sydney Opera House. The staff were welcoming and helpful from the moment we arrived to the ned of our stay and rightly recommended the breakfast where everything was cokked to order (no sad breakfast buffet here). Our suite had everything we needed: fully equpped kitchen, dining table, sitting area, bedroom plus a balcony with a fabulous view of the quay and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. We will definitely be back.

Coles supermarket is just across the street, and you can walk to the Opera House, Botanical Garden, and more. It's also very close to QVB, and there are public transport stops nearby to get to places like the University of Sydney. The breakfast is excellent. The hotel's location is truly excellent. Hyde Park is right across the street from the main entrance, and Westfield shopping center is just out the back. Museums, art galleries, and the Opera House are all within walking distance – the location is simply impeccable. However, the service experience was quite poor. Housekeeping was slow to restock amenities like body lotion. After my bathrobe was taken for laundry in the evening, I called the front desk at 7:55 PM, but it wasn't delivered until 9:20 PM. It only arrived after I called to follow up again. Even more unpleasant was the front desk service. One Chinese staff member was laughing and chatting with foreign guests. When it was my turn, I asked if I could speak in Chinese, and he hesitated for a couple of seconds before responding with a very serious expression. Throughout my inquiries about extending my stay and valet parking, he maintained a poker face and showed no service attitude whatsoever. It was a very bad experience.

The room I was given was in a corner, right by a bridge, so there was a bit of noise in the mornings and evenings, but the soundproofing was actually quite decent. The bedding is now in a 'sandwich' style – the duvet isn't inserted into a cover, it's just two layers of fabric with a filling in between. The bed was a bit on the soft side, but that's pretty common in most Australian hotels. What really makes up for it is the price and the location; it's really convenient to walk to Darling Harbour and the CBD.

The hotel was alright, definitely spacious and in a convenient location. The living room and bedroom is excellent in my books. However, it’s a bit dated, and the toilet shows its age. We encountered small cockroaches each evening we returned, luckily just the slow kind that you can easily catch. I appreciated the green programme that rewards guests who skip room service with vouchers, but the voucher has limited use, especially with the breakfast spread being quite limited; honestly, you’re better off heading out to nearby cafés instead. Skipping housekeeping also meant I had to dispose of my own trash, and the recycling bins near the lifts kept piling up without being cleared. Can be better.

Service: The service was great, and the front desk staff were very enthusiastic. They even asked if I had a preferred room number or numbers I wanted to avoid, which was very considerate. Environment: However, the overall room size was very small. The room I was given seemed to be a disabled-access room, with a very large bathroom, but I didn't like that there were so many rooms on that floor. Facilities: There's a gym and a swimming pool, but the pool is tiny, almost not suitable for actual swimming. The hotel entrance is a bit hard to find, located in what's essentially an alley. But the surrounding area is quite lively, with plenty of coffee shops and shopping options.

The hotel is a bit old, but its location is a big plus – super convenient for shopping! The bed was comfy and soft, and the in-room facilities were well-equipped. No one offered to help with luggage, and the hotel has two entrances, but the staff didn't tell me which one was easier for catching a ride. When I came back by taxi, they didn't open the door for me, but when my friends dropped me off, they were very enthusiastic, opened the car door, and greeted us!

The room was decent, and the bed was incredibly soft, a real 'white-people bed' as they say, with excellent blackout curtains perfect for sleeping. We booked a one-bedroom suite, and the staff thoughtfully added an extra bed for us. The only downside was the somewhat chaotic front desk management. When we checked in, they told us the suite we booked was unavailable, claiming it was double-booked and offering us a standard room instead. It was the first time I'd heard of being downgraded because a room wasn't available! 😂 After I showed them our confirmation, they fiddled around a bit and eventually 'found' a suite for us. However, our booking included breakfast, and after the room change, we couldn't access the breakfast area the next day. We had to go back to the front desk to explain the situation again, and they finally gave us a card. On the second morning of our stay, we again couldn't get breakfast and spent another half an hour sorting it out. It was quite a hassle, making me feel like the money spent wasn't really worth it. Throughout the whole process, there was no mention of compensation; they just fixed the immediate problem. In previous hotels, when there was an issue, they usually provided a better experience after resolving it. As for the restaurant teacups, honestly, they weren't clean; many had coffee stains.

The place is a bit dated, specially noticeable in the pool/gym amenities. However, what it lacks in newness, it makes up with excellent service. My child was celebrating her birthday and was surprised with a birthday treat during breakfast. This may be a small thing, but we appreciated it as she is anaphylactic to dairy and the staff made sure everything on her cake was dairy-free. We were also allowed to check in a bit later.

It's quite a long walk from Southern Cross Station, and some of the paths are narrow, making it difficult to pull luggage. The front desk is on the second floor, and self-check-in is available. Since I arrived early and wanted to check in sooner, I paid an extra $25 per night to upgrade to a queen room with a desk. The deposit was $100. The room facilities were complete, though the shower head in the bathroom was fixed overhead and only allowed for direction adjustment. There were plenty of TV channels, including Phoenix TV for Chinese viewers. The staff on the ground floor were very friendly.

Room was clean and comfortable. Pleased that our room and bed sizes got upgraded as there was one available. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location is great and very close to the station, restaurants and shopping mall.  Little gym has the essentials for fitness which I was able to make use of. Only complaint was the buffet breakfast - very average if not poor quality. Fruit salad didn’t look fresh, hash browns looked over cooked and dry. Most food seemed as it had simply been taken out of packets or the fridge and served straight away, with no preparation behind it.  However for what was paid, we did get our money’s worth.

I recently stayed at Novotel Melbourne on Collins, and overall it was a great experience. The location is unbeatable — right in the heart of the city, with easy access to shops, cafes, and public transport. The rooms were clean, modern, and comfortable, with large windows overlooking Collins Street. The bed was very cozy and ensured a good night’s sleep. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially at check-in — they made everything smooth and welcoming. Breakfast had a good variety of options, and the dining area was bright and pleasant. Check-in was smooth and the staff were genuinely friendly, creating a great first impression. The hotel’s location is ideal—nestled between two major roads within the CBD’s free tram zone. My room was on the 9/F and top floor, spacious and well-appointed. Though the hotel is surrounded by buildings and doesn’t offer any view, it’s peaceful and practical. coin-operated laundry and dryer are available onsite, with laundry powder sold at reception for $1 AUD, which is quite handy for extended stays. The television doesn’t support direct login to streaming platforms like Netflix, but I easily mirrored content from my personal device. This workaround worked well for casual viewing during my downtime. There were a few downsides. One pillow had a visible mold stain, which raised a hygiene concern. I had my Do Not Disturb sign displayed throughout my stay, yet housekeeping entered and cleaned the room on my final day. It was an unexpected breach of privacy, and I hope the hotel takes note and reinforces respect for guest preferences. Despite these minor issues, the overall experience was highly satisfying. The combination of its prime location, spacious rooms, thoughtful amenities, and friendly service makes this hotel a dependable and comfortable choice.
