Guangzhou Baiyun Airport

🌟 I highly recommend the Jianguo Hotel Guangzhou! It's perfect whether you're here for business or leisure. The location is a huge advantage – it's very close to Guangzhou East Railway Station, within walking distance, and super convenient for getting around by subway. This saves a lot of time, whether you're running errands or catching a high-speed train, without having to rush back and forth. The room was very clean, and the bedding was comfortable, allowing for a good night's rest. The front desk staff were friendly, and check-in/check-out was efficient. The biggest surprise was the Chinese restaurant on the fourth floor; the Cantonese dim sum was delicious and authentically 'old Guangzhou' style. You don't have to specially go out and queue at other tea houses; you can enjoy high-quality Cantonese dim sum right here at the hotel. It's suitable for a solo meal or a casual gathering with friends. Having dining and accommodation in one place is very convenient, fitting for both business and leisure travelers. Next time I'm in Guangzhou, I'll definitely prioritize staying here again. I truly recommend it to anyone traveling.

I've stayed here many times, and I'm so happy they upgraded me to a one-bedroom suite again this time. It was a very comfortable stay, and they even provided welcome fruits. Both the room and the living room have floor-to-ceiling windows, offering a pretty good view. The location is also very central; you can walk to Zhengjia Plaza. This time I tried the breakfast; the restaurant is beautiful, but the food selection is a bit limited. I pretty much always stay here when I come to Guangzhou.

The location is excellent, and the front desk staff were quite welcoming. My flight was delayed, so I didn't arrive until after midnight, but they kindly extended my check-out time, which I really appreciated. The room size was decent, and there were many foreign guests staying. However, the hotel facilities are a bit old. I was taking a shower when three or four staff members knocked on my door asking if I had been smoking and triggered the smoke alarm. It was truly speechless. I hope they improve the facilities and service quality.

We booked this hotel specifically for the 40th-floor kids' club, but it turned out to be a bit of a letdown. We came to Guangzhou with our child, and after seeing many reviews praising the Westin's indoor kids' club on the 40th floor, we decided to stay here. Unfortunately, the kids' club was quite disappointing – there was a strong, pungent smell inside. I'm not sure if it's been recently renovated, but even as an adult, I felt a bit dizzy after a few minutes, let alone letting my child play in there. On top of that, it only opens at 12 PM daily, and there wasn't a single staff member in sight, which honestly made me a bit uneasy. However, putting the kids' club aside, the rest of the hotel was excellent. Our stay on the executive floor was very satisfying, with attentive service. The breakfast selection was rich and varied, with plenty of options for both adults and children. The location is also very convenient, close to shopping and dining. While the heated pool isn't huge, the water temperature was comfortable and perfectly adequate for children to splash around in. Overall, if you're booking this hotel solely for the kids' club, like we did, you might want to reconsider. I hope the hotel addresses the indoor air quality issue, as health and safety are paramount when traveling with children. However, if you're here for a business trip or prioritize the executive benefits, this hotel is definitely worth staying at.

1. On my first night, the fridge wasn't working, so I contacted the front desk. They immediately arranged a room change and even upgraded my room type, which made my trip to Guangzhou a fantastic experience. 2. The apartment's location directly opposite Taikoo Hui is incredibly convenient for getting anywhere. There are all sorts of great food options downstairs, so you don't even have to go far to eat well. 3. The breakfast provided is incredibly varied and of high quality, with plenty of choices! Plus, there's a massage chair, yoga room, swimming pool, and a sauna room, among other amenities. Overall, I'm a hundred percent satisfied!

The hotel's service was incredibly thoughtful, and all the staff were enthusiastic, attentive, and paid great attention to small details, which made me feel very cared for. The entire process, from check-in to check-out, was smooth, and any needs were promptly addressed. You can really feel the hotel's dedication to service; it was a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Booked an executive room, and it only came with two bottles of water. We drank one on the first day, and to my surprise, housekeeping didn't even replenish them the next day. Unbelievable. The coffee provided was instant Nescafé; they could at least offer drip bags, especially since the mini-fridge was completely empty. The mattress was really comfortable, and the buckwheat pillow suited me perfectly, though I had to wait over half an hour for it.

The location is an absolute winner! The hotel has direct access to TeeMall, and it's within walking distance to Parc Central and Grandview Mall. The Sports West Road subway station is also very close, so you can shop and find food without enduring the elements – super convenient for getting around. Check-in was very efficient, and the front desk staff were pleasant and easy to communicate with. The room was spacious with large windows offering expansive views. The mattress was soft and comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a great night's rest after a day of exploring. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, the hot water was stable, and the cleaning was meticulous, leaving it spotless and odor-free. Amenities are comprehensive; the heated pool and gym were both fully operational. What's more, you can store your luggage for free after check-out, which is a thoughtful touch, allowing us to pick it up after we'd finished exploring the shopping districts. This established five-star hotel truly delivers on reliability. It's suitable for both business trips and leisure travel/food adventures. I'll definitely prioritize staying here again next time I'm in Tianhe, Guangzhou! Also, a big thank you to the staff for providing us with complimentary breakfast!

This is a very well-known five-star hotel, once the tallest building in Guangzhou. The location is excellent, making it convenient to get anywhere. Although the hotel has a long history, all facilities have been kept in great condition after renovations. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The view from the 29th floor is fantastic, and dishes are cleared promptly, keeping the tables clean. The food selection is abundant, and you can even see the Canton Tower. The price offers great value for money, and the hotel's location is excellent with beautiful views outside the window, perfect for enjoying at leisure. The Garden Hotel Guangzhou is, by far, the most satisfying and best value-for-money hotel I've stayed in this year. Staying in a five-star, old-money style hotel is just so comfortable. All the furniture is made of high-quality solid wood, giving the entire hotel an understated yet grand and luxurious feel. The room was incredibly spacious! The front desk upgraded me to a Kapok Suite, which made the experience even better! The entire hotel feels like a classic museum, a true grand garden. There are many dining options, including the Waterfall Restaurant on the 1st floor, Taoyuan Pavilion and Ming Shi Court on the 2nd floor, and the revolving restaurant on the 30th floor (where you can see Canton Tower). Our package included the buffet at the 30th-floor revolving restaurant and dim sum breakfast at Taoyuan Pavilion on the 2nd floor. The view from the 30th-floor restaurant is fantastic! It's a shame it was typhoon weather during my visit; I definitely need to go back on a clear, sunny day next time. The dim sum breakfast was also delicious, and the small dishes were exquisite. The hotel hosts many international guests, and every staff member serves with a smile – it truly is a classic, international-standard 'Old Canton' hotel. Excellent value!

This is a classic hotel in the heart of Guangzhou, and its location is really good. The exterior also looks quite grand. The rooms are spacious, and the views from them are very nice. You can also go up to the 63rd floor for an even better view. Breakfast was decent, but it was a shame that during my three-day stay, the noodle station only had a chef on the last morning. I found the front desk service quite subpar. I waited in line for ages, and several male receptionists kept ignoring me or shunting me to a different queue. They were busy chatting casually with the guests in front of them and didn't bother calling the next person. They spent half an hour on pointless conversation, and it felt like it would never end. I was so annoyed waiting that they finally called out a female receptionist from the back to help me with my room card. Also, in the lobby, we were dragging our luggage around, and no staff member came over to offer assistance. Overall, I felt there was hardly any service. There's no self-service laundry room, which I think is a significant drawback. Since there are no room service robots, I had to go up and down to collect my food orders every time, which was a real hassle. The room hygiene was good, but I find it incredibly stingy for a five-star hotel to charge for a tiny bit of coke and other items in the minibar. Many hotels now offer complimentary minibars. To sum it up: excellent location, outdated facilities, and a poor service experience.

I had an absolutely amazing stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou. From the moment I arrived, everything was exceptional — from the elegant surroundings to the warm and attentive service. The room was beautiful, spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean, with all the amenities you would expect from a luxury hotel. The bed was incredibly comfortable, making it easy to relax and enjoy a restful night after a long day exploring Guangzhou. What truly stood out was the hospitality. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, professional, and genuinely attentive to every detail. The service felt personal and thoughtful without ever being intrusive. The hotel’s location is also excellent, making it convenient to explore the city while still providing a peaceful and luxurious retreat. The overall atmosphere was elegant and relaxing, and I particularly enjoyed the attention to detail throughout the hotel. This was definitely one of the highlights of my Guangzhou trip. Decided to take a spontaneous trip during the May Day holiday and looked into nearby resorts. Mulian Zhuang came highly recommended for its overall value for money, so we decided to give it a try. We arrived on the afternoon of the 30th, which helped us avoid the peak rush. From the parking attendant to the front desk staff and the shuttle bus driver, everyone was incredibly friendly and professional. The front desk kindly upgraded our room to one by the lake, which was incredibly comfortable and offered a more peaceful environment. The first day was a bit chilly, but lying on the balcony deckchair, listening to the birds and the sound of the water, was incredibly relaxing. It really helped us achieve our vacation goals, haha! The hotel itself is designed like a garden, with rooms scattered across the hillside, connected by small paths. This layout ensures minimal disturbance between guests. Taking a leisurely stroll around is lovely, and if you don't feel like walking, you can always 'call' for the park shuttle, which is very convenient. If you're looking for peace and quiet, soaking in the hot springs or swimming here are excellent choices. I was so engrossed in the scenery that I barely took any photos!

I stumbled upon this hotel online, and it's not too far from Guangzhou. When I booked, I mentioned it was for a birthday, and they were thoughtful enough to arrange some birthday decorations. I think both the service and the room were quite good. The environment is also lovely, with a large green area and fresh air, a nice escape from the city bustle, which is very relaxing. My main critique is that the food needs improvement, and the hot spring pools too – there were too many leaves and no one seemed to be clearing them out. The experience wasn't great. I hope the hotel can improve these aspects to make it even more perfect.

My room was a luxurious suite with private bath tub (around hkd 3000 for two nights including breakfast). Hardware is definitely exceptional. However when it comes to service it is below standard: 1) front desk - service was poor without any greetings such as bell boy. Front desk officers were unhappy without any eye contact when they talk to you. No hospitality at all; 2) breakfast - the quality both food and service were not up to a 4 or 5 star service. Table was not clean, staffs were almost unfriendly, except one female manager and one staff, all staffs were rushing their task and unwelcoming. I believe the hotel management need to motivate their staff ,otherwise, people won’t come again. 3) Amnenties - room is a luxurious suite with private bath tub, massage chair, kitchen , dining table and queen bed. The tub was not very clean, with water splitting . Such a waste as their service was not meeting the standard of what it is expected to be a 5- star resort. (The environment, garden were nicely decorated indeed) The Hot Spring pool is well known but I have’s try so cannot comment. I won’t come to this resort again, if the service of the hotel haven’t improved. And I won’t recommend travelers with kids who is looking for a family friendly and good service resort. P.S.: Parking spaces were spacious and free

The room is very spacious, and the overall environment is excellent. The service attitude is superb, especially Front Desk Assistant Xiao Lin, who was very enthusiastic and kind. The only downsides are that the hotel is a bit old, and the facilities are a bit dated. The air conditioner in our room was leaking, but Xiao Lin was incredibly helpful and quickly arranged a room change. However, the new room was quite noisy due to its proximity to the road and ongoing subway construction. The room had large windows. The breakfast leaned towards Western style; it wouldn't be worth it if paid for separately, especially compared to the excellent dim sum (Cantonese morning tea) readily available throughout Guangzhou. I took my mom to Guangzhou, and it truly exceeded our expectations! My mom kept asking me how I found this hotel. It's surrounded by malls, and the moment we arrived, all the fatigue from our journey melted away, replaced by the soothing sound of flowing water. The hotel staff were all incredibly attentive. The front desk ladies always greeted us with genuine smiles, and the bellmen on the first floor were always quick to open and close our car doors. This time, we celebrated our anniversary by staying in an Executive Room at the Mandarin Oriental Guangzhou, and the overall experience was excellent. As soon as we got out of the car, the bellboy promptly came over to help with our luggage, and then we checked in directly at the Executive Lounge. It was very efficient, and we didn't have to wait in line at the main lobby. The hotel had thoughtfully prepared a card and a cake to celebrate our anniversary, which was a very nice touch. What left the deepest impression was the service. No matter where we were in the hotel, every staff member we encountered greeted us kindly, making us feel right at home. I'd especially like to commend Nicolo from the Executive Lounge, Oriental Club. From the moment we checked in, he was incredibly welcoming. Every time we visited the Executive Lounge, he remembered our names and always chatted with us pleasantly, with a smile on his face. His service was professional and friendly, adding many wonderful memories to our trip. Additionally, Yamy and Silvia, who handled our check-out at the Executive Lounge, proactively asked if we wanted to pack some drinks and also gave us a refrigerator magnet. The only thing that needs improvement is the late check-out policy. The front desk initially told me that it depended on availability and was generally not possible, and in the end, they could only extend it until 2 PM. Considering that hotels of a similar caliber usually offer more flexible late check-out options, I hope the hotel will actively consider extending the late check-out time.

Traveling with kids, I communicated with the hotel beforehand for a fun children's setup. The kids loved the tent 🏕️, but they found the camel 🐫 toy plushie a bit too ugly. I'll definitely choose Jumeirah again next time I'm in Guangzhou ❤️

The room was clean and the facilities were relatively new, with a nice view outside the window. Overall, it still had an old-money vibe, as the hotel's age is undeniable, and even renovations have their limitations. I particularly want to mention the faucet in the bathroom sink – it didn't have a filter, and the spout was quite high, so water splashed everywhere when turned on. The instant coffee in the room was terrible, though the coffee machine in the buffet restaurant was decent. For the buffet lunch, the desserts, ice cream, and fruit were good, but the main courses were mediocre. The sashimi always had a long line, and its presentation was a bit lacking. Regarding the ”Golden Ball Lychee Pastry”: it was advertised as one per day, but I didn't receive it on subsequent days of my stay.

Our stay was wonderful. Housekeeper Julie was our point of contact throughout, making communication very easy, and all our requests during the stay were promptly met. Maggie at the front desk handled our check-in efficiently and smoothly, making the whole process hassle-free. We were very interested in the sky bar, and Vivi was exceptionally enthusiastic in showing us around and giving a detailed introduction. Joplin was also equally warm and attentive. The hotel offers expansive high-altitude views, and its design blends Eastern aesthetics, exuding elegance everywhere. Overall, it was a very comfortable stay, and we will definitely choose this hotel again next time we visit Guangzhou.

The hotel is wow! They have free transportation from terminals. If you arrived at terminal 2, after passing passport control, go to the second floor to departure hall and find exit 46. The bus from the hotel will pick you up right there, outside the exit. Reception guys are very helpful, they helped with your luggage and anything you need. The room itself is very spacious. The floor in the room is so soft, like a cloud! The bed is very comfortable, pillows just amazing! The bath robe is so soft, double layered, I loved it. All you need you have in a room. Only one thing can be improved, could be nice if there would be face wash and face lotion at least. Overall, very pleasant stopover experience. Would book again for longer stopover to discover hotel’s spa and restaurant.

An experience that exceeded our expectations! As soon as we arrived at the hotel entrance, a doorman greeted us, opened the car door, took our luggage, and escorted us all the way to the hotel elevator. When we checked in, the front desk lady was very kind. We originally booked a river view room, which doesn't have a view of Canton Tower, but she told us that since we were staying for three nights, she upgraded us to a tower view room. We were so pleasantly surprised! The next day was my child's birthday, and she said they would send a cake to our room. She also thoughtfully asked about our travel plans, mentioning that we could contact them anytime for any needs and that they could even provide travel tips. The staff's service attitude was truly heartwarming and considerate! 💖 Although the hotel has been open for over a decade, it's very well-maintained. The overall style is understated luxury, without excessive or gaudy decorations; it's simple and clean. I was particularly impressed by the dark green room doors with their smooth, rich finish and excellent texture. The floor-to-ceiling windows in the guest room offer expansive views, overlooking the entire Canton Tower. The marble bathroom and soft, skin-friendly bedding – you can tell from many small details that the materials used are exquisite and carefully selected. For the birthday, we booked the Prime Steakhouse on the 100th floor. The table was sprinkled with rose petals, and there was even a 'Happy Birthday' letter sign, making it feel very ceremonial. The restaurant also gave us a red velvet cake, and when we left, they gave us shell-shaped cakes. Back in our room, there was yet another red velvet cake from the hotel! Haha, they are truly thoughtful... A big thank you again to the hotel for their thoughtful and meticulous service, which gave us an unforgettable birthday trip! 💐

This hotel was perfect for attending Chen Chusheng's concert. It's just one subway stop from University Town, so getting back to the hotel quickly after the show was a breeze. A big shout-out to Guangzhou's excellent management; the order was fantastic! The hotel's location deserves full marks – it's right by subway exit A, super close! 😁 The higher floor offered great views, and the room was spacious. The breakfast had delicious bread and waffles 🧇, tasty freshly made rice noodles, and plenty of fruit. We enjoyed the views while we ate. Both the floor staff and the ground floor attendants were very friendly. If you have time, you can also walk along the greenway on the island. The only downside is the price, around 500 a night, but overall, it was a good experience.

The hotel is 3 minutes from Shiqiao station. There is a bus line in front of the hotel that takes you to Shawan old town and other sites. It is across from a local mall with a lot of eateries. My only complaint is the cloth drier is hard to use without WeChat pay. Anyway, it is a good stay at this property.

What to Prepare for a Trip to China?

  • Visa & Entry Tips China’s 240-hour visa-free transit policy now covers 54 countries, incl. the US, UK, Canada, and Brazil, allowing up to 10 days during layovers. Learn more about China Entry Tips to land in China easily.
  • Getting Connected VPNs are vital for accessing Google, WhatsApp, Instagram, etc in China. Set one up before arriving. China eSIMs are the easiest option for data and bypassing restrictions. Pocket Wi-Fi devices work best for group but are pricier and require pickup/return.
  • Money Exchange & Tax Refunds Exchange money in China banks (better rates than airports). ATMs accept foreign cards, but notify your bank first. For tax refunds, spend over ¥500 at stores with a "Tax-Free" sign. Keep receipts and get forms stamped at customs before departure.

Must-Have Apps in China

  • China Payment Apps Forget cash. Chinese use Alipay (I like it better) or WeChat Pay to pay for everything in China. Scan a QR code at noodle stalls, metros, even temples. Link your foreign Visa/Mastercard before landing.
  • China Map Apps Amap (Gaode Map) & Baidu Map (limited English) is what locals use, with real-time navigation, metro/bus routes, and traffic updates. Apple Maps does a good job too if you're already an IOS user.
  • China Transport Apps Street taxis are cheap, but drivers rarely speak English. Use China Taxi App like DiDi (China’s Uber)—set your destination in English, pay by Alipay.
  • China Travel Apps 15+ China trips taught me: Use Trip.com. It's the best English app for booking China trains/flights/hotels + finds Trip.com deals.
  • China Dating Apps Locals use Tantan (China’s Tinder) and Momo. WeChat’s “People Nearby” works too, but expect language barriers unless your Mandarin’s decent.
  • China Food App Use Meituan (also helps find nearby restaurants) or Ele.me for food delivery—both have English mode. No English menu in restaurants? Scan the QR with Alipay's translator.
