How to Get Trip.com Price Match Refund?

Find Trip.com price match guide for hotels—what it is, how to apply, refund rules, cheapest booking time & dynamic pricing facts.

What is Trip.com’s Price Match?

Trip.com’s Best Price Guarantee is available only for eligible hotel bookings that display the price match indicator on the booking page. The program is currently in a trial phase with limited regional and language availability. For flights, there is no formal post-booking price match policy — price adjustments are not guaranteed, and we recommend using the Flight Price Graph to track fare trends instead.

If you find a lower public price for the exact same hotel booking on an eligible platform after your reservation is confirmed, you may submit a price match request for review. If approved, the price difference will be refunded as Trip Coins (no cash refunds), which can be used for future travel bookings on the platform.

Important: Eligibility is subject to real-time display on your booking details page. Not all hotel bookings qualify for this program.

How Do I Ask for a Trip.com Price Match for Hotel?

Trip.com UI features.

Only hotel bookings marked with the Best Price Guarantee label are eligible to apply. Package bookings are generally not eligible. All requests require valid proof of the lower price and 100% identical booking details to be considered for approval.

• Book and confirm an eligible individual hotel room on Trip.com (look for the price match indicator on the booking page).
• Find a lower public price for the exact same booking on the hotel’s official website or other qualifying third-party platforms.
• Submit your price match request with supporting proof (e.g., screenshot or link of the lower price) before the deadline shown on your booking page. Deadlines vary by region — some regions require submission by noon local time the day before check-in, while others allow submission up to midnight local time the day before check-in. Always refer to your order page for the exact cutoff time.
• Await review: Trip.com will typically review your request and notify you of the result within 24 hours of submission (or one working day, depending on region).
• Receive refund: If approved, Trip Coins will generally be credited to your account within 1 working day after you complete your stay. No refund will be issued for canceled or uncompleted stays.

What are Rules for Trip.com Price Match for Hotels?

Approval depends on 100% identical booking details, valid lower prices, and eligible bookings/platforms — any mismatch or non-compliance results in rejection. Rules differ slightly for hotels (strict formal) and flights (mostly unavailable), with latest rules: Hotel Price Match requirements. Core requirements may include:

• Price verification is based on the price at the time of Trip.com’s review, not the time of submission.
• A maximum refund limit per booking may apply in certain regions, with the exact amount displayed during the application process. Refunds are issued as Trip Coins only.
• Any booking modification after submission will invalidate your price match request.
• Only one price match claim is allowed per booking.
• The program is in a trial phase and available only in select regions and languages.

Can I Get a Refund if the Price Drops Later?

Yes for hotels (if you meet all rules), no guarantee for flights — all refunds are Trip Coins only (no cash), with a maximum limit for hotels and no fixed limit for approved flight cases. Modified/canceled bookings are never eligible for any price drop refund.

For eligible hotel bookings, you may submit a price match request if you meet all program rules. For flights, there is no standard post-booking price drop refund policy — adjustments are reviewed on an extremely limited airline case-by-case basis and are never guaranteed (just forget it). Modified or canceled bookings are not eligible for any price adjustment.

Does Trip.com Guarantee Prices?

Trip.com has a formal Best Price Guarantee only for hotels (per the above price match rules), but NO universal price guarantee for flights — flight price adjustments are only reviewed case-by-case with no approval guarantee, even if you provide valid lower price proof.

For hotels, the guarantee is not absolute: Trip.com reserves the right to reject requests for fraudulent or abusive use, and all requests must meet strict exact-match rules to be approved. The hotel price match program is limited to certain regions and languages during the trial phase.

Does Trip.com Use Dynamic Pricing?

Yes—Trip.com displays real-time prices for both hotels and flights, which change constantly based on market supply and demand. This is standard industry practice.

• Flights: Prices fluctuate frequently (often within the same day) due to airline yield management, seat occupancy, peak/off-peak travel times, and fuel costs. Trip.com provides a Flight Price Graph tool to help you track these fluctuations visually, and price alerts to notify you of fare changes.
• Hotels: Prices adjust based on room occupancy, local events/holidays, weekday/weekend stays, and last-minute room releases. Early booking or weekday stays typically yield lower rates.
