The room offer nice view of the Chinese Garden courtyard that enhance the experience of living in perhaps ancient China traditional house. The breakfast is average, with something for everyone but nothing to shout about. The housekeeper are very diligent and ensure rooms are spotless tho dated in in room facilities like lacking smart lighting and water tap from the 80s - not so easy to operate. But the whole compound and atmosphere, daily free Taiji, hanfu experience - for one pax, in my opinion makes up for the imperfectionsFromSEK 459

For this holiday, I booked two suites again at Shangri-La on Tayuan Road, and I must start by giving a huge shout-out to our butler, Lisa! From the initial communication, she showed exceptional professionalism, patiently listening and perfectly coordinating the arrangements for both rooms. Before we even checked in, thoughtful welcome fruits were already placed in our rooms, and this kind of meticulous service truly warmed our hearts.
The two-day stay was perfect; the hotel truly felt like a home away from home. The environment was serene and elegant, allowing us to completely relax the moment we stepped in. The rooms were spacious and bright, furnished with great taste, and both my family and children praised the accommodations, expressing complete satisfaction.
The kids absolutely loved the recreational area on the 5th floor, especially the swimming pool and gym. They finally got to enjoy the long-awaited swimming pool! Not only was the water crystal clear, but there were also swimming coaches on hand to guide them, making their time there incredibly fun. Both the excellent facilities and the warm service made us feel incredibly well taken care of. It definitely deserves a perfect score, and we will certainly return to Shangri-La on Tayuan Road for our next family trip.FromSEK 634

This Qingming holiday, I stayed at three hotels, and Wyndham was by far the best! Before booking, I saw some complaints about it being old, but I thought it was normal. For an established hotel, the hardware might be older, but what really matters is the soft services. Traveling with my child, I always feel more secure with well-known hotel brands.
And indeed, I was very satisfied upon arrival. Our room was upgraded, and it was huge. The bathroom and walk-in closet felt almost like a suite layout. It was clean, and the bedding was comfortable. My child absolutely loved the classic European-style bed, feeling like a princess.
The air conditioning was the absolute best. In March and April, I've stayed at Westin, Hilton, and Pullman, all of which had issues with the AC not being able to cool down enough, making the bedding feel stuffy. But at Wyndham, especially during this sudden warm spell, the Honeywell air conditioning was incredibly powerful. It provided the perfect, most comfortable temperature for sleeping under the covers that I'd experienced in days.FromSEK 463

Five stars, highly recommend Courtyard by Marriott Suzhou! The hotel's B1 level has a seamless connection to Xinghai Square Station on Metro Line 1, which is incredibly convenient for business travelers or exploring Jinji Lake. The front desk staff were efficient and professional, and my Marriott Bonvoy member benefits were fully honored. The room was spacious and bright, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering a direct view of the Gate of the Orient. The bedding was soft and conducive to sleep, and the marble bathroom had excellent water pressure. The gym on the 27th floor offers an amazing view, allowing you to work out while enjoying the city skyline. MOMO Café's breakfast spread was extensive, with authentic freshly made Suzhou-style noodles and Eggs Benedict, and the service was attentive and proactive. Came to Suzhou for a concert during the May Day holiday and brought the kids and my parents along for a trip. The hotel is just a few steps from the subway station. You need to transfer to get to the Olympic Sports Center, but it's very convenient, only about three stops in total. The three-bedroom suite we booked this time was perfect for a large family like ours. It also has three bathrooms and a large double-door refrigerator. However, someone had put durian in the fridge before, and it smelled awful, making it unusable for us. I hope the hotel can do a better job with cleaning and deodorizing! There's an oven, microwave, and induction hob, but no pots or pans were provided. Does that mean they expect guests to cook or not? We didn't need to cook, but it just felt a bit confusing. There are restaurants and convenience stores right across from the hotel.FromSEK 853

Outside Tongli Ancient Town Suzhou|21.92km from city center
The hotel is located by Tongli Lake, surrounded by the lake on three sides. Being under the Hengli Group, the service, hygiene, and dining are all excellent. It's a shame that the development of Tongli Lake and Tongli Ancient Town is a bit disappointing. The environmental management of Tongli Lake is poor, with many dead fish floating on the surface. Many shops in Tongli Ancient Town are closed, and the lake is full of leaves and dust. Yet, the ancient town still charges an 80 RMB entrance fee during the day, which feels a bit steep. These factors must surely affect the hotel's business. Consequently, many of the hotel's older facilities haven't been updated in a timely manner, especially the faucets and showers; all the fittings are peeling, and the main showerhead in the shower room isn't working. However, these drawbacks haven't diminished my personal liking for Hengli Group hotels. I hope that through overall improvements in the surrounding area, the hotel can continue to upgrade and enhance the customer experience. Also, the breakfast was good, though there could have been a few more varieties of stir-fried green leafy vegetables.FromSEK 503

An absolutely fantastic stay at Hilton Garden Inn Suzhou Wuzhong, highly recommended!
My recent stay at Hilton Garden Inn Suzhou Wuzhong was a perfect 10/10. It's ideal for both business and leisure travelers and has officially become my go-to hotel whenever I visit Suzhou.
The front desk service was incredibly thoughtful and attentive. The staff were warm and polite, making check-in quick and efficient. They even offered complimentary welcome cookies and patiently answered all my questions. Their professionalism and warmth in these small details made me feel welcome the moment I walked in.
The hotel boasts a stylish and elegant environment, with a simple yet grand lobby that exudes class. The rooms are spacious and bright, with a well-thought-out layout. The bedding is soft and comfortable, and the soundproofing is excellent. Once the windows are closed, all outside noise is blocked, ensuring an exceptionally quiet night's sleep. I slept soundly until morning, enjoying superb sleep quality.
I must especially praise the breakfast on the 19th floor. The view is absolutely stunning; you can enjoy the city skyline while dining. The variety is extensive, featuring both Chinese and Western options. For Chinese breakfast, they freshly prepare and cook authentic Suzhou-style noodles and mini wontons. The Western selection includes fresh and delicious bread, fried eggs, and bacon. There are also various fruits, yogurts, and cold dishes to choose from. All ingredients are fresh, and the taste is superb, ensuring a great start to each day.
Overall, the value for money is outstanding. The service, environment, and breakfast are all impeccable, filled with thoughtful details. I will definitely choose this hotel again on my next trip to Suzhou and will not hesitate to recommend it to my friends!FromSEK 494

Compared to the tranquil elegance of InterContinental Kunming, and the vibrant splendor of InterContinental Raffles City Chongqing, the InterContinental Suzhou's exterior resembles an elder statesman from the 80s, clad in a grey Zhongshan suit – understated and grand, yet a tad dull. Its lakeside location, however, speaks for itself. Dawn breaks with a golden glow, like the first crow of a rooster; at noon, the interplay of light and clouds unfolds like a gentle scroll painting; and at night, the brilliant lights twinkle like a flowing galaxy. From here, you can overlook the Ferris wheel and gaze at the Gate of the Orient, encompassing the 'heaven and earth' views, even if you're not right in the heart of it all. Whether for a vacation or business, such beautiful scenery can temporarily make one forget their worries. Getting around is very convenient; the Moonlight Dock boasts a variety of restaurants, cafes, and bistros, and the subway is less than a ten-minute walk away.
The service isn't overly enthusiastic, nor is it neglectful. Breakfast is standard; the plain congee was bland one day and thick the next, suggesting inconsistency.
Thanks to the butler Sunny? Wendy? Melody? My apologies, I always seem to live unmindfully.
Next time I visit Suzhou, I'll likely still stay at the InterContinental. Over time, the InterContinental brand develops an emotional 'interconnection.' I hope InterContinental Suzhou will continue to improve, especially since staying at the lakeside Four Seasons is a bit pricey, haha!FromSEK 924

Pros:
1. The front desk staff were very enthusiastic, whether it was check-in or check-out, everything was great.
2. Good location.
3. The TV has international channels.
Cons:
1. The breakfast was indeed disappointing. Not only was there limited variety, but the taste was very mediocre. Especially the two boiled eggs I took were undercooked, and clearly not meant to be eaten raw. Also, several people who seemed to be chefs were chatting loudly, although the waitstaff were all fine.
2. The room door and the bed were only separated by a gauze screen, so soundproofing was poor, and noises from outside the door were clearly audible.
3. The air conditioner vent was directly facing the bed and sofa, and I'm not used to cold air blowing directly on me.
4. The pond outside the balcony was quite poor, as shown in the picture.
5. My car's Sentry Mode detected that flyers were put on it overnight.
6. Regular toilet, no bidet.FromSEK 971

I've stayed in many five-star hotels, but this is the first time I've seen an entire building designed like a cruise ship. From a distance, the pure white, streamlined 'hull' sits steadily by Jinji Lake, with large glass curtain walls shimmering in the sunlight. It has both a modern feel and the romance of setting sail. At night, the hotel lights up with rainbow-colored LED strips, and the entire 'ship' reflects on the lake, complementing the lights of the Gate of the Orient in the distance. Any photo you take looks like a masterpiece. I'm usually not very sensitive to architecture, but this 'cruise ship on the lake' really left a deep impression on me. Later, I saw on Xiaohongshu that many people specifically come here to photograph the night view, and it certainly lives up to its reputation. The room facilities are also very complete; although the hotel is quite old, everything is still in great condition. Thanks to the hotel's service! #starfishdolphinFromSEK 925

Overall, it was decent, but honestly, as a Hyatt, I was a bit disappointed. The room cleaning was excellent, the cleaning staff were very responsible. The room service, front desk staff, lounge staff, and Huachi restaurant staff all provided great service with good attitudes. However, there were a few issues. For example, the hotel's perfume scent was really overpowering – it's that citrus smell almost everywhere you go, from entering the hotel to stepping out of the elevator or your room. Also, the room amenities were quite impractical. I was in a suite, but there were far too few trash cans, just one in the living room and one in the bathroom, with a bedroom and another living space separating them. Another thing is that at night, when you want to turn off the lights, there's no master switch; you have to get out of bed and turn off each one individually. Finally, the curtains and sheers, although automatic, had switches that clearly weren't working properly, requiring multiple presses to get them to respond. The same goes for the drain in the bathroom – you had to press it very hard, to the point of your hand hurting, to get the water to drain. The bathroom window, while having a Suzhou-inspired screen design, barely closed and was quite dusty.FromSEK 1,178

The ambiance is wonderfully peaceful, far from the hustle and bustle, making it a perfect spot to unwind and clear your mind. While the resort isn't overly large, simply enjoying the lake views and taking leisurely strolls each day was incredibly pleasant. The only downside was the intense heat during our stay, which limited our ability to explore for extended periods.
**Cleanliness:** Everything was spotlessly clean. The pool water was also meticulously maintained, seemingly refreshed with each new booking, which was impressive.
**Facilities:** We stayed in a 2-bedroom unit. The layout of the upstairs bedroom felt more practical and well-designed. Downstairs, however, the bathroom lacked a separate wet and dry area, making the room quite humid after a shower, although thankfully a dehumidifier was provided. The tatami mat in the lounge area was very spacious, large enough to comfortably sleep two additional people.
**Service:** The service was excellent and very responsive. Our room was promptly serviced on the second day. A special thank you to our butler, Adrian!
**Minor Drawback:** The only slight drawback was perhaps the dining options. After trying two meals, we'd recommend sticking to the Western menu, as the Chinese food, in particular, offered quite poor value for money.FromSEK 2,219

The hotel was located at the lake with an amazing view. The rooms was really nice and super clean and the mattress was really comfortable to sleep very well. The facility of the hotel was nice and very stylish, all in white and modern. The hotel was really lovely. The only thing that is really not good organised, there is no food except breakfast and afternoon tea (in that case fruits). The environment is fantastic, directly facing Lake Taihu with stunning views. Both the restaurant and lobby bar offer beautiful lake views while dining. The facilities are a bit limited in the common areas; the lawn is small, and there aren't many other amenities. However, the gym is very well-equipped. A clean and affordable hot spring hotel with few guests. The service attitude was genuinely excellent – friendly, attentive, and patient. The hot springs were also good; the key is that there weren't many people, making for a very relaxing soak. Soaking in the winter is truly comfortable. We were warm and toasty, and it wasn't cold at all walking back from the outdoor pools.
The breakfast was abundant with plenty of choices.
However, a few complaints: The family room was advertised to have a sofa bed, but it was very small, only suitable for a child. Once unfolded, half was a hardboard and half a soft cushion, making it very uncomfortable to sleep on. The shampoo and body wash provided for showering at the hot springs were quite low-quality, and there was no conditioner. This is one of my favorite hotels! The stay included two hot spring tickets, but the front desk staff, knowing I was traveling alone, thoughtfully swapped one for a breakfast voucher instead. The room was very clean and comfortable, and I really liked the Chinese-style decor. The bed was super comfy, and even the hairdryer was good. They even gave me snacks upon check-in – extra thoughtful! The breakfast buffet was plentiful, a great mix of Chinese and Western dishes. The robot ice cream machine was a fun touch; I had two, and they were delicious. The hot springs were also excellent. I visited at the tail end of a holiday, so it was quiet with fewer people. There's also some lovely scenery nearby. Unfortunately, I only had time to visit Emerald Lake, but it was truly beautiful and put a perfect end to my trip. Facilities: The overall layout is quite good, with excellent greenery and ample space. It's lovely to take a walk along the lake. The Taihu Lake view and water quality are decent.
Hygiene: The public areas could use some improvement; it seems there isn't a dedicated cleaner for them. However, the room's hygiene was quite good.
Breakfast: Too many people! The variety is quite rich, but it gets incredibly crowded during holidays.
Hot Springs: Soaking in the hot springs at night was great because you can't see much. During the day, they were closed in the morning due to a lawn wedding happening outside.
Swimming Pool: The temperature was fine, but the shower areas need better hygiene.
Kids' Area: I recommend adding a sandpit or some non-powered play equipment to keep kids entertained longer.

Overall, it was a pleasant stay. The hotel staff provided excellent and enthusiastic service. The room decor and facilities were a bit dated, which is understandable for an older hotel, but the room felt spacious and offered great views, likely due to being one of the taller buildings in the area. They even granted my request for a complimentary breakfast for one person, which I appreciate, even though I didn't end up using it. However, the room's cleanliness could be improved.

My trip to Suzhou was purely for relaxation, and I was very pleased with the hotel's tranquil and comfortable environment. The service was warm, making me feel right at home.
Next time, I'd recommend opting for a lake view room if you revisit; the garden view was a bit too low and not as beautiful as I imagined. However, the room itself was spacious and clean, perfect for lounging and working. During my stay, I also tried both the buckwheat and jasmine pillows, and they were quite good. The jasmine pillow was a bit high though, so I wouldn't recommend it for leaner individuals. The complimentary fruit was also very sweet. And of course, I loved the LE LABO toiletries with their fantastic bergamot scent!
The hotel's scenery is serene, but whenever I passed the koi pond on the first floor, hoping to snap some photos without people, I’d always see the landscapers cleaning the pond and pruning the pine trees. It was already very clean, so I wonder if it would be possible for them to come out just once in the morning and once in the afternoon for maintenance, allowing guests to take photos more easily. Over two days, I saw them by the pond at 2 PM, 3-4 PM, and for over an hour during breakfast time...
Additionally, the complimentary travel photography service offered by the hotel was excellent. The photographer spent about 30 minutes, essentially acting as a mini-tour guide, taking me around all the picturesque spots in the hotel. I really enjoyed it. The shooting was meticulous, with no marketing pitches at all, making for a perfect 10-out-of-10 experience. I'd recommend it to anyone with ample time. The photo selection process via Tencent Meeting was also very efficient. However, this travel photography shouldn't be compared to a professional photography studio's results; it's definitely a bonus as an added value service during your stay.
Undoubtedly, the breakfast was the most satisfying. The variety was extensive, easily one of the best selections among five-star hotels. I loved it!

I stayed in Suzhou for a few days and this hotel was really great, so I wanted to share my honest thoughts.
First, the location – it's next to a residential area, so it's very quiet. The soundproofing was surprisingly good, and it wasn't noisy at all at night. Getting around is also convenient, with a bus stop right nearby and the metro station just a few minutes' walk away, making it easy to get to attractions or wherever you need to go. Plus, you need to use your key card to access the stairwells, which feels very secure, and they even have mosquito repellent at the stairwell entrances – a really thoughtful touch!
The room was bigger than I expected, and the bathroom was a wet/dry separation design with a smart toilet. It was genuinely clean. On the first day, we received meal vouchers, and I didn't have high expectations, but that cured pork with rice was absolutely amazing! I had two bowls – the diced pork was so fragrant, and the rice was perfectly moist. I highly recommend it.
The bottled water in the room was also good, I don't know the brand, but it tasted great. I asked the front desk for extra bottles a few times during my stay, and they always gave them with a smile. Their service attitude was outstanding.

I am definitely a frequent traveler/stayer/eater, and I have experienced many high-end hotels/boutique B&Bs/boutique restaurants. But this time I want to say: This boutique B&B (inn) is worth my recommendation.
1. The owner of the inn is a famous Suzhou garden designer, so the taste and foundation of the inn are very good.
2. The male and female managers have a good hobby and cultivation of tea art/meditation and meditation, which adds a lot of added value and fun to the inn.

great little getaway for a night. We used the public hot springs, which had a good few to choose from and wasnt overcrowded. I would recommend to the hotel and other hot spring hotels, that they keep kids from splashing and to use the actual swimming pool even if its cold. Guests come to relax. Not to participate in hot spring kids swimming lessons. But everything else was good. There was also no restaurant available. We were taken on a short walk out of the hotel to a restaurant which seemed to be the only thing available. We only really went for the hot springs and luckily we had a private one that we could finally relax in. Would recommend.FromSEK 749
