An absolutely wonderful experience! The entire hotel was designed by Singapore's Temasek Group and is seamlessly integrated with the Panmen Scenic Area. The hotel itself is built around a traditional Chinese garden layout, cleverly concealing eight distinct attractions. Its back entrance leads directly into the Panmen Scenic Area, and with your hotel key card, you get unlimited access throughout the day, along with services like Hanfu rental. The hotel itself is impeccable, with top-notch amenities, including the pool and gym. The customer service staff are also very professional. I noticed many foreigners, especially Singaporeans, staying here. The only minor drawback is that the rooms are spread across multiple buildings, making the hotel quite large. On my first visit, it took me a while to navigate from the front desk to my room. Also, the front desk is on the 3rd floor, while the rooms are on the 1st and 2nd floors, which can be a bit confusing when coming and going.FromRUB 3,734

My partner and I specifically chose this Shangri-La hotel for our short getaway to Suzhou, and we have absolutely no regrets. The room was spacious and comfortable, with excellent soundproofing, providing a truly tranquil and relaxing environment. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options, balancing both sweet and savory, making for a fantastic dining experience. In our free time, we drove to Jinji Lake for a walk, and the clear lake views were incredibly therapeutic. I must commend Tina, one of the staff members, for her professional and warm service. She consistently anticipated our needs and handled everything with meticulous care. Without a doubt, this is the worst five-star hotel I've ever stayed in. The rooms and facilities are old and run-down. Everything from the walls to the elevators and the room fixtures was filthy. The weirdest thing is there's no proper shower in the room, just a bathtub. If you want to shower, you have to stand inside the tub and use a handheld sprayer. On top of that, the water temperature was impossible to adjust – it kept switching between freezing cold and scalding hot. For a room like this, costing 489 yuan a night, it should really be around 200 yuan. Even though it's an older hotel from 2012, I didn't expect a chain brand to be this bad. The staff's attitude was good, and both the Chinese restaurant and breakfast selection were quite varied. I originally wanted to give a terrible review, but since I booked it myself, I decided not to be too harsh.FromRUB 3,770

Stayed for two nights with my daughter for a concert. The hotel was excellent, right near Suzhou Center. The service was fantastic – they even noticed our gym clothes hanging to dry and brought over a drying rack, then helped us hang them up! The breakfast spread was very rich, and the afternoon tea and happy hour offerings at the executive lounge were exquisite. The gym and pool on the 27th floor offer great views. Came to Suzhou for a concert during the May Day holiday and brought the kids and my parents along for a trip. The hotel is just a few steps from the subway station. You need to transfer to get to the Olympic Sports Center, but it's very convenient, only about three stops in total. The three-bedroom suite we booked this time was perfect for a large family like ours. It also has three bathrooms and a large double-door refrigerator. However, someone had put durian in the fridge before, and it smelled awful, making it unusable for us. I hope the hotel can do a better job with cleaning and deodorizing! There's an oven, microwave, and induction hob, but no pots or pans were provided. Does that mean they expect guests to cook or not? We didn't need to cook, but it just felt a bit confusing. There are restaurants and convenience stores right across from the hotel.FromRUB 7,253

The hotel environment is great, very close to Tongli Ancient Town, and the night view is beautiful. The front desk staff are exceptionally friendly, enthusiastic, and all very pretty. The hotel restaurant offers good dishes that suit my taste, and they've introduced many new ones. Especially noteworthy is the hotel's wellness building, which provides numerous therapeutic programs tailored to individual health conditions. The room was great! Even though the hotel opened in 2018 or 2019, the facilities don't feel dated at all. The front desk staff were very attentive, offering thoughtful services like recommending attractions. It's also a moderate distance from the attractions in Gusu District, so overall, it was a really good experience.
Just wanted to add one more thing! In my opinion, buildings in Suzhou generally aren't very tall, and the rooms at this hotel are on higher floors. This gives you a much more open view, without being blocked by older buildings (just my personal observation).FromRUB 4,285

Facilities: The facilities are a bit old and show their age. They were renovated in 2023, but you can still see signs of wear, like the rusted handle on the bathtub.
Hygiene: The hygiene was poor. Cups hadn't been cleaned, and there were crumbs on the floor.
Environment: The environment was good, and the view from the scenic room was great.
Service: The executive lounge staff were quite proactive, but there was an issue with differential treatment and at times no one was present to assist. They also didn't prevent guests wearing slippers from entering the lounge. Some guests were offered napkin service proactively, while others weren't. The housekeeping staff lacked proactiveness; around 7 PM, the duty manager called housekeeping to clean the room, but they didn't proactively ask if turn-down service was needed. There was also no mention of the travel photography service. The front desk and concierge staff had good attitudes.

The facility of the hotel was nice and very stylish, all in white and modern. The hotel was really lovely. The only thing that is really not good organised, there is no food except breakfast and afternoon tea (in that case fruits). The surroundings are beautiful, but the epoxy flooring in the parking garage has a very strong, suffocating odor. As soon as you step out of the B1 elevator, the pungent chemical smell hits you.
The hairdryer is terrible; I can't believe a hotel of this size still uses such a poor quality one with insufficient power.
For food delivery, there's no robot delivery service, nor do staff bring it to your room. You have to go down to the lobby yourself to pick it up.
Regarding laundry, the staff came to ask if I needed anything washed but didn't proactively mention the charges. It would be better if the room had clear pricing and contact details so guests could make an informed choice.

It was the May Day holiday, so there were a lot of guests, but it felt like the hotel lacked a crowd management plan. Breakfast was crowded, but still bearable. The worst experience was dinner. I had planned to eat at the hotel for convenience. However, after ordering, forty minutes passed and not a single dish arrived, while tables that arrived after us were already getting their food. Facilities: The overall layout is quite good, with excellent greenery and ample space. It's lovely to take a walk along the lake. The Taihu Lake view and water quality are decent.

I had an unexpected business trip to Suzhou and chose Park Hyatt over the Four Seasons. I rarely stay at Hyatt properties, but whether it's the Grand Hyatt Guiyang, Grand Hyatt Hefei, Park Hyatt Shanghai, or now the Park Hyatt Suzhou, their aesthetic consistently surpasses hotels of the same price point, and even higher. To sum it up, this should be the benchmark for Chinese luxury hotels.
I overslept the day before check-in and missed the hotel's courtesy call. Upon arrival, the doorman quickly and efficiently handled my luggage. Stepping into the lobby, the public area's exquisite blend of 'old money' sophistication and new Chinese style immediately captivated me. Despite having stayed in countless hotels, it's rare to see such a perfect fusion of Chinese and Western elements in a luxury hotel. During check-in, the front desk attendant was incredibly handsome, speaking in a gentle yet approachable manner. Hotel staff often serve as a 'calling card' for the establishment, and he certainly enhanced my impression of the hotel. Concierge Tracy also approached me, adding me on WeChat to better facilitate my stay. After checking in, as I walked from the lobby through the public areas to my room, the huge floor-to-ceiling windows framed the outdoor scenery, perfectly embodying the essence of 'misty rain江南' (Jiangnan). It felt as if time itself had slowed down at that moment. Entering the room, I must commend the room's layout design. First, there's an entryway, with the toilet on one side and the shower and bathtub on the other (I was particularly pleased that both the shower and the bathtub had their own vanity mirrors, catering well to different guest needs). Walking past the entryway and opening that small door, it was immediately like 'parting the clouds to see the sun'—a feeling of 'after walking a few dozen steps, a wide vista suddenly opens up.' This earned the hotel designer an extremely high score in my book. The room's audio system was Bose, with excellent sound quality. The last time I encountered Bose speakers was at the Ritz-Carlton Haikou. Compared to most luxury hotels that either don't provide or provide generic, old-fashioned audio systems, Park Hyatt Suzhou is clearly willing to invest more thought into guest experience and hotel hardware. Concierge Tracy's service was excellent. As soon as I entered the room, she messaged me on WeChat to ask if I was satisfied with the room type and if I needed any additional amenities. She was also very quick to assist whenever I needed bath salts, turn-down service, or had food delivered. I was very pleased that, as I like to sleep in, I often request late check-outs. Unlike other hotels that call every few minutes to rush you (which I find very irritating—firstly, no one likes to be disturbed while resting, and secondly, it makes me wonder if the hotel is overbooked or why they're so eager to rush guests), Park Hyatt Suzhou had Tracy message me to inquire and arrange my late check-out. I truly appreciate this non-intrusive approach to guests. After checking out, Tracy also sincerely messaged me to ask how my stay was and if there was anything that could be improved. Both Tracy and the other hotel staff perfectly demonstrated what it means to be efficient and thoughtful. 🥰
Of course, there were a couple of minor issues during my stay (though 'issues' might be too strong a word, more like things I found a bit odd). First, the deposit. Almost all hotels I've stayed at typically require a deposit of 1k or 1.5k, but Park Hyatt Suzhou charged 2k (not that I can't afford it, but it's a bit strange why the deposit differs from most hotels 🧐). Second, the public areas are genuinely quite large—so large that I sometimes got lost, unsure whether to turn left or right 🥲 (though this is subjective, as it is indeed very opulent and well-designed, and I really like the hotel's style, but my sense of direction is truly terrible, and I felt a bit disoriented finding my way around after a few ins and outs). However, these are minor points (not even flaws really); apart from these slightly perplexing matters, I couldn't find any other fault. 🤣
Overall, Park Hyatt Suzhou in every aspect should and deserves to be the benchmark for Chinese luxury hotels, and even luxury hotels across mainland China. Whether it's the perfect integration of hotel design and landscape, the friendly and efficient demeanor of the staff, the comfortable and cozy bedding, or even the high standards the hotel owner demands and the brand spirit Park Hyatt aims to convey, it's perfection personified. There's virtually nothing to fault. It's sparked my interest in Hyatt properties and made me fall in love with this new Chinese luxury hotel style. I look forward to staying here again on my next visit to Suzhou and am even more excited to see what new surprises Park Hyatt Suzhou will bring me next time!FromRUB 20,622

The name ”Xiangxuehai” felt familiar to me, as it was a household name for a domestic refrigerator brand in the early days. This Xiangxuehai Hotel in Suzhou shares the same origins as the refrigerator brand, making it a well-established local brand. Based on my trust in old brands, I chose Xiangxuehai Hotel for my trip to Suzhou. The soundproofing at the hotel was surprisingly good; I slept soundly until morning. Getting around was also convenient, with a bus stop right next to the hotel, making it easy to visit attractions. For those driving, the hotel has a large parking lot, and you just need to show your room card to enter and exit. Even the security guards were very welcoming.
The floor we stayed on was newly renovated, with a simple yet practical design. I especially want to praise the bathroom facilities; the smart toilet was convenient, and the showerhead was the best and most comfortable I've ever used, with strong water pressure. The hotel was very thoughtful; the air conditioning was already on when we checked in, and the room was impeccably clean—I couldn't find a single flaw. Every detail reflected the hotel's professional management, and the room rate wasn't expensive, offering excellent value for money!
On the first day, we received dining vouchers and ate on the hotel's second floor. All the dishes we ordered were delicious and reasonably priced. It saved a lot of time to eat there and then head back to the room. We originally planned to stay for just one day, but since everyone was so satisfied with the hotel's dining and accommodation, and all the front desk staff were excellent, proactively introducing nearby attractions and travel routes, everyone wanted to extend our stay, haha. 1. The hotel service was quite good. There were two bottles of water in the room, but only one box of tissues on the vanity. When I called for more water or tissues, they were delivered to the room very quickly. Early check-in and late check-out requests were also accommodated. The front desk staff, both ladies and gentlemen, were all smiling, friendly, and gentle with guests, especially the tall, fair-skinned young man whose name I don't know, but he was very patient.
2. The hotel room facilities were very simple, with 1990s decor. For over 1200 RMB a night, there was no smart technology at all. The curtains had to be pulled manually, and I found the back of the blackout curtains covered in dust.
3. For a room costing over 1200 RMB a night, the coffee provided was terrible. After brewing with hot water, it was impossible to swallow, tasting like coal ash water. I ended up pouring it all out.
4. The hygiene was acceptable at first glance, but couldn't withstand closer inspection. I used alcohol wipes to clean everything myself. The welcome snacks should ideally be packaged; without packaging, they're prone to dust, and you don't know how many hands have touched them. In any case, I didn't dare to eat them and threw them in the trash.
5. The location is decent, and the hotel is very quiet at night. Directly opposite the hotel are a Starbucks and a FamilyMart, which are convenient for breakfast and coffee. It's also close to a bookstore. The area around the hotel is full of shopping malls and office buildings, making shopping and dining very convenient, and the environment is relatively clean.
6. I suggest the hotel upgrade its room facilities and invest appropriately to be more genuine with guests, otherwise, it'll just be a one-time business. There were only a few items in the mini-fridge, yet they still wanted a deposit when I checked in, even though a guarantee had already been collected by Trip.com. I thought there would be some expensive liquor in the mini-fridge, but to charge a deposit for these cheap items is really low-class.
7. I recommend adding a small soap dish and a towel basket to the vanity. There was nowhere to put the soap, and nowhere for used towels. Also, provide a bath liner. These are basic necessities. And please put a tissue box on the bedside table; having only one box on the vanity means constantly moving it around. It's truly frustrating!

Although the hotel shows its age a bit with slightly dated decor and facilities, it's well-maintained, upholding the standards of a seasoned star-rated hotel.
We stayed in an Executive King Room. While the room wasn't large, the view from the 27th floor was excellent, especially the mesmerizing night view. The room has a distinct Japanese style, with efficient use of space throughout, making it convenient and clean.
The complimentary afternoon tea and executive lounge benefits were nothing spectacular, but given the reasonable price of the room, we couldn't ask for more.
As it's a Nikko hotel, the breakfast is a blend of Chinese and Japanese cuisine. The Chinese-style Suzhou noodles and Japanese curry and rich soups were particularly noteworthy.
Finally, regarding the service, the hotel staff were attentive and thoughtful. Jiajia at the front desk was especially enthusiastic and professional during both check-in and check-out. Five-star rating for her!FromRUB 5,625

Cleanliness is consistently good: Rooms are clean, bedding is comfortable, and wet/dry separation is generally well-executed. Most people describe it as 'spotless'.
• High value for money: Prices are mostly between 200–400 RMB per night. For a price point comparable to a 3-star hotel, you get European-style decor and a warmly lit lobby.
• Standardized service: The front desk is responsive, luggage storage is available, some locations have robots for item delivery, and free parking is offered.
• Practical breakfast: Simple Chinese and Western options, including congee/noodles/bread/fruit – enough to fill you up, with some local specialties.
• Poor soundproofing (most common complaint): You can clearly hear conversations in the hallway, doors opening and closing, and the TV in the next room. Street-facing rooms will have traffic noise.
• Inconsistent facility newness:
◦ New branches (after 2022): Smart room controls, fresh air systems, wood-look flooring, 25–28㎡ rooms.
◦ Older branches: Worn carpets, outdated furniture, limescale on showerheads, slow drains, some rooms without windows/lingering smoke smell.
• Inconsistent service: Slow check-in during peak times, some front desk staff can be indifferent, and complaint resolution is average.
• Small space: Basic rooms are about 20㎡, making it cramped to move around once luggage is placed.
• Smoke/unpleasant odors: Some non-smoking rooms still have a smoke smell, and occasional drain odors.FromRUB 3,627

Inside Tongli Ancient Town Suzhou|20.31km from city center
I am definitely a frequent traveler/stayer/eater, and I have experienced many high-end hotels/boutique B&Bs/boutique restaurants. But this time I want to say: This boutique B&B (inn) is worth my recommendation.
1. The owner of the inn is a famous Suzhou garden designer, so the taste and foundation of the inn are very good.
2. The male and female managers have a good hobby and cultivation of tea art/meditation and meditation, which adds a lot of added value and fun to the inn.
3. In addition to the good breakfast included in the inn, the inn owner will also invite customers to join their private lunch and dinner, which is very authentic Hunan cuisine, which is simply a unique and exquisite dish in Tongli.
4. Warm and warm service and feeling.
. . .
Of course, other routine services are also very good, so I won’t say more.
In short, recommended!FromRUB 10,162

The weather is getting colder, so it's time to soak in the hot springs! The hotel faces Taihu Lake, the air is fresh, and the view is amazing. The hotel service is also excellent; staff contacted us in advance to ask about our check-in time and number of guests. Because we were traveling with a child, they thoughtfully upgraded us to a family suite. The room was large and spacious, and had two bathrooms, which was very convenient for families. A special thank you to Xiao Liu at the front desk for her attentive and patient service over the past two days, and also to the housekeeping staff for keeping the place spotless. Nanxun Ancient Town is about 10 kilometers from the hotel, so you can drive there for a stroll.FromRUB 7,588
