Harbin Hot Springs: 6 Best Resorts and How to Visit

by Bethy
October 10, 2026

Harbin's hot springs split into two very different groups. One is in the city itself, in Songbei District, and works as an evening after a day at the Ice and Snow World. The rest are out in the Daqing geothermal belt and across the border in Jilin province, two to three hours away, and they are destinations in their own right rather than add-ons. The distinction matters more than the ratings do, because a list titled "Harbin hot springs" can send you 280 km away without saying so.
I list six of them, with what each actually is, where it is, when it opens and what a ticket costs, followed by the practical questions visitors ask most.

Harbin Hot Springs at a Glance
Harbin Hot Springs Online booking through Trip.com is usually cheaper than paying at the entrance, and most resorts charge more at weekends and during the Ice Festival.
Hot Spring | Where | Getting there | Tickets (rough) | Hours |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Songbei District, Harbin | Taxi or ride-hailing, 30 to 40 minutes from the centre | CNY 140 to 200 (USD 20 to 28); evening entry cheaper | 09:00 to 21:00 weekdays, to 22:00 weekends | |
Lindian County, Daqing | High-speed rail to Daqing, about 1 hour, then a road transfer | CNY 110 to 140 (USD 15 to 20) | Usually 08:00 to 23:00 | |
Dorbod, Daqing | High-speed rail towards Dorbod or Daqing, then a road transfer | CNY 90 to 130 (USD 13 to 18), meal package at the top end | 08:00 to 23:00, last entry about 22:00 | |
Lindian County, Daqing | Same rail corridor as Lindian, then a road transfer | From around CNY 80 (USD 11); children about half | 08:00 to 20:00 | |

The Top 6 Harbin Hot Springs, One by One

Maple Leaf Village Hot Spring Resort
The only one of the six that is genuinely in Harbin, in Songbei District near Sunac Land and the Sun Island area, about 15 km from the centre. If you are in the city for the Ice Festival and want a hot spring without giving up a day of sightseeing, this is the practical choice.
It runs a mix of indoor and outdoor pools framed by an artificial volcanic-rock landscape and trees, plus a large spa wing with German-style water therapy equipment, Finnish and Turkish saunas and a salt room. The winter draw is the outdoor section: soaking at 40 degrees while the air sits at minus 20 is the reason people come, and the resort is built around that rather than around a treatment menu.
Full-day adult tickets land somewhere around CNY 140 to 200 depending on whether you go midweek or at the weekend, and evening entry after 16:00 is cheaper, from roughly CNY 100. Children under 1.2 m normally enter free.
Getting there: a taxi or ride-hailing car from central Harbin takes 30 to 40 minutes, which makes this the only one of the six you can decide on the day. Weekday hours are 09:00 to 21:00 with last entry at 20:00; weekends run to 22:00.

Daqing Beiguo Hot Spring
In Lindian County in neighbouring Daqing, Daqing Beiguo Hot Spring is the largest and best known of the Daqing group, and it is an established resort rather than a single pool complex. Expect a big outdoor area with forest and herbal pools alongside a substantial water-park section, which makes it the one to pick if you are travelling with children who will not sit still in hot water.
Bookings through a platform usually come in around CNY 110 to 140, against a higher gate price. Children between 1.2 m and 1.5 m pay roughly half, and under 1.2 m is usually free. Hours typically run 08:00 to 23:00, though some outdoor pools close earlier in the coldest weeks, so plan your outdoor soaking before 21:00.
Getting there: high-speed trains from Harbin reach Daqing in about an hour, after which you need a taxi or a resort shuttle for the last 40 to 60 minutes. Many resorts of this size will send a car if you arrange it in advance, so sort that out before you book the train. Driving takes about two and a half to three hours, and it is not a day trip you can bolt onto a sightseeing schedule.

Lianhuan Lake Hot Spring Resort
Also in Daqing, in Dorbod Mongol Autonomous County, Lianhuan Lake Hot Spring sits beside a large wetland lake and leans into the local Mongolian heritage. The pools come with lake views, and the resort runs Mongolian-style bath and wellness treatments rather than a generic pool menu.
Tickets are the most reasonable of the Daqing group: roughly CNY 90 for the hot springs alone, or about CNY 130 with a meal package. Guests staying at the resort usually get unlimited hot spring access included, which is worth checking before you compare room rates elsewhere. The gates are open 08:00 to 23:00 with last entry around 22:00.
Getting there: the Harbin to Daqing high-speed corridor has a stop at Dorbod, so you can ride about an hour and then take a taxi for the final stretch, or drive the full three hours yourself. In winter the resort pairs ice fishing and snow activities with the hot springs, which makes it a fuller day than a pure bathing stop.

Hening Lake Wetland Hot Spring Resort
The budget option, also in Lindian County, and the one that sits closest to the Zhalong Nature Reserve wetlands. The setting is reed beds and open water rather than landscaped pools, and the resort markets its water as medicinal and its outdoor section as a winter ice-water hot spring.
Hening Hot Spring Adult hot spring tickets start from around CNY 80, children pay roughly half, and a wetland sightseeing-only ticket is cheaper again. Hours are shorter than the others at 08:00 to 20:00, so this is a daytime visit rather than an evening one. There is also a crane and deer park on site, which is unusual among hot spring resorts and works well with children.
Getting there: the same rail corridor as Lindian, then a road transfer, or about two and a half to three hours by car. Because it closes at 20:00, a visit here realistically means staying overnight in the Lindian area rather than returning to Harbin the same evening — which makes it a sensible second stop if you are already there for Beiguo.

Shengde Spring Resort
In Jilin City, which is a different province, roughly four hours from Harbin by road. Shengde Spring Resort appears in the same "near Harbin" collections, but it is a Jilin City destination and should be planned as one.
It offers more than 40 themed pools, and the winter appeal is the same snow-and-steam contrast, with mountain scenery doing the work that the Harbin resorts do with landscaping. Ticketing varies by session and season, so confirm current rates and hours before committing to the journey.
Getting there: high-speed rail towards Jilin City takes two to three hours with a change, followed by a local taxi. Driving the full distance takes around four hours.

Cherry Hot Spring
In Changchun, also in Jilin province, and the most urban of the six: Cherry Hot Spring sits inside the city rather than in a resort setting, which makes it convenient if you are already spending time in Changchun. This is a city hot spring where the pools are the point rather than the views.
Getting there: high-speed rail from Harbin reaches Changchun in about an hour, then metro or a short taxi ride. If your trip already includes Changchun, it is an easy addition; if it does not, the distance makes it hard to justify on its own.

Are Harbin's Hot Springs Actually in Harbin?

Mostly not, and the listing pages do not always make this obvious. Of the six above, only Maple Leaf Village is inside Harbin. Three are in Daqing, roughly two and a half to three hours away. Two are in Jilin province, in Jilin City and Changchun, three to four hours away and in a different province entirely.
The practical consequence is that you cannot treat these as interchangeable. Maple Leaf Village works as an evening out during an Ice Festival stay. The Daqing resorts need a full day or an overnight. The Jilin ones should only be considered if your itinerary already goes that way.
If you see a hot spring described as being "near Harbin" with a distance listed as more than 100 km, that is your signal that a substantial transfer is involved.
Are Harbin Real Hot Springs or Heated Tap Water?

This is the question worth asking in north-east China, where the phrase "hot spring" is used loosely. On the evidence, the resorts in this guide are drawing genuine geothermal water.
Lindian County in Daqing holds an official hot spring town designation and sits on a large low-to-medium temperature geothermal field in the Songliao Basin. The Lindian and Dorbod resorts operate deep geothermal wells, mostly in the 1,500 to 2,000 m range, and the water comes up naturally mineralised. Maple Leaf Village in Harbin also draws from a well of around 2,000 m, with water on the sodium bicarbonate side. None of these is heated municipal tap water.
What confuses people is the heating. At minus 20 or minus 30, an outdoor pool loses heat fast even starting from a source at 40 to 60 degrees, and some resorts run heat exchangers to hold the temperature. That is a temperature-management system, not a substitute for the water source, but it is why some visitors conclude the pools feel artificial. Likewise, the wine, milk and ginger pools are geothermal water with added concentrates, which is normal practice.
Two things you can check on site. Look in the lobby for the geothermal extraction licence or a provincial water-quality report listing mineral content such as metasilicic acid, fluoride or lithium. And use your hands: genuine geothermal water tends to feel slippery on the skin and carries a faint mineral or earthy smell, whereas heated tap water smells of chlorine and feels harsh.

What to Bring and Wear to a Snow Hot Spring at Minus 20
A hot spring in Harbin in January is an outdoor activity in extreme cold, and the equipment is the difference between memorable and miserable.
- Most resorts provide robes, towels, slippers and toiletries, so travel light.
- Bring a swimsuit for mixed outdoor pools, but note that gender-separated indoor pools follow the local bare-skin convention rather than swimwear.
- Pool shoes matter more than you expect, because the walk between the changing room and an outdoor pool crosses genuine snow.
- Bring warm headwear, and a dry towel to wrap your head. Wet hair at minus 20 is the main discomfort people complain about.
- Keep your phone out of both the steam and the cold. Condensation and battery drain finish off more phones than water does.
- Leave jewellery behind. It is uncomfortable in hot water and the resort will not accept responsibility for it.
When to Go: Ice Festival Season vs the Rest of the Year
The snow hot spring experience only exists in winter, roughly December to February, and January is both the coldest and the most atmospheric. This is also when the Harbin Ice and Snow World runs, so the city is at its busiest and most expensive. Book resorts and trains well ahead.
Outside winter, the same resorts operate as ordinary water parks and spa complexes. They are cheaper, quieter and much less distinctive. If your reason for going is the snow-and-steam contrast, an October or April visit will not deliver it.
Weekdays are noticeably cheaper than weekends at most of these resorts, and the gap is often a third of the ticket price. If your dates are flexible, a midweek visit costs meaningfully less than a Saturday.
Tickets, What Is Included and What Costs Extra
The entry ticket covers the pools, saunas and changing facilities. Beyond that, assume nothing.
- Food is usually extra. Meal packages exist at Lianhuan Lake and similar resorts, and they are worth taking where offered, because the nearest restaurant is often a drive away.
- Treatments are extra. Massages, scrubs and foot therapy are charged separately, usually to a wristband you settle on the way out.
- Private rooms are extra, and at some resorts they are the only way to sleep on site without booking a hotel room.
- Children's pricing is by height, not age, with free entry typically under 1.2 m. Check your child's height before you go, because it changes the total.
- Booking ahead is usually cheaper than the gate. The difference is largest at weekends and during the Ice Festival.

Can You Stay Overnight at a Harbin Hot Spring?
Yes at several of them, and for the Daqing resorts it is the sensible option rather than an indulgence. Beiguo, Lianhuan Lake and Hening Lake all operate resort accommodation, and Lianhuan Lake typically includes unlimited hot spring access for guests, which changes the value calculation considerably.
For Maple Leaf Village in Harbin, staying overnight is unnecessary, since you are already in the city.
If you are visiting in January, check whether your room booking includes hot spring entry before comparing prices, because the inclusion is worth a full ticket per person and it flips the comparison.
Etiquette and Rules at a Chinese Hot Spring

The rules are consistent across these resorts and unfamiliar to most foreign visitors.
- Shower before you enter any pool. It is posted everywhere and expected.
- Gender-separated indoor areas are bare-skin by convention. Swimwear is for mixed outdoor pools only.
- No photography in changing rooms or pool areas.
- Keep your voice down in rest areas, since people sleep in them.
- Extra spending goes on your wristband and is settled at the exit, not in cash at the counter.
- Tipping is not expected and tends to confuse rather than please.
Health and Safety in Extreme Cold
The combination of hot water and minus 20 air is harder on the body than it feels while you are in the pool.
- Move between pool and indoors in stages, and dry your head and torso rather than just wrapping up wet.
- Keep sessions short. Ten to fifteen minutes in a hot pool, then a break, is better than an hour straight.
- Drink water. Dehydration in a hot pool is easy to miss when the air around you is freezing.
- Do not drink alcohol before or during soaking. The heat amplifies it, and fainting on wet tiles in the cold is a serious outcome.
- Skip the hot pools if you are pregnant, or have heart conditions, high blood pressure, open wounds or skin infections.
- Watch the transition between wet floors and snow. That strip is where people slip.
Which Harbin Hot Spring Should You Choose?

If you want | Choose | Because |
|---|---|---|
A hot spring without leaving Harbin | Maple Leaf Village | The only one in the city, 30 to 40 minutes from the centre |
The largest and most complete resort | Daqing Beiguo | Big outdoor area, herbal pools and a water park |
Value plus lake scenery | Lianhuan Lake | Cheapest of the Daqing group, lake views, access included for hotel guests |
A cheap daytime stop near the wetlands | Hening Lake | Lowest ticket price and a crane and deer park, but it closes at 20:00 |
Combining with a Jilin City trip | Shengde Spring Resort | More than 40 pools, but four hours from Harbin |
Adding a soak while in Changchun | Cherry Hot Spring | Urban location, an hour by high-speed rail |

Harbin Central Avenue/Saint Sophia Cathedral/The Memorial Tower of Fig Harbin|2.42km from city center
Our stay at Grand Mansion 1903 during our Harbin trip far exceeded our expectations, offering an immersive experience of a century-old Russian-style residence. The hotel is a historic building, originally built in 1903, and is located in the heart of Central Street. Its prime location is excellent, just a few minutes' walk to Central Street and Saint Sophia Cathedral, making shopping, dining, and sightseeing incredibly convenient and saving us the hassle of commuting.
Stepping into the lobby, we were greeted by gilded domes, opulent crystal chandeliers, vintage oil paintings, and antique furnishings, creating an instantly captivating atmosphere. The iconic century-old elevator is a unique feature, with its retro iron grille door, making it feel like we were transported back to an old Russian aristocratic mansion. The guest rooms perfectly balance vintage elegance with modern comfort. Carved solid wood furniture and velvet curtains add to the charm, while amenities like underfloor heating, capsule coffee machines, and high-end bathroom products ensure a superb stay. The hotel skillfully blends the historical essence of the old building with excellent living comfort, making for a wonderful resting experience.
The hotel service was attentive and thoughtful, with butler-style reception making us feel exceptionally welcome. They also offer a complimentary Russian costume experience, perfect for taking great photos. The breakfast at the underground wine cellar restaurant was of high quality, offering both authentic Russian delicacies and Chinese dishes, with a rich variety and a stylish dining environment.
Overall, this is not just a hotel, but more like a small historical museum. It allows you to experience the hundred-year history and charm of Harbin while offering an excellent location and meticulous service. It's highly recommended for anyone visiting Harbin.FromSGD 75

We chose the Shangri-La Hotel for this trip primarily because of its Horizon Club River View room. And it certainly lived up to its reputation once we checked in! We stayed for 5 days and were treated to stunning sunsets every single day. The room facilities were great, and the environment was clean and tidy. The staff's professionalism was excellent, especially Ms. Xiao Bi at the executive lounge, who was kind and friendly, particularly to us seniors. Our stay at this new hotel was fantastic! The room was super spacious, perfect for two adults and a child. They even set up a sofa bed for us, so everyone had their own bed. Having a bathtub was a huge plus – after a day of digging for shells, a hot soak was incredibly relaxing for the little one. Our room on the 15th floor offered amazing views from the large window, and the soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a quiet night's sleep. The self-service laundry was convenient, and my child thoroughly enjoyed the gym. The wontons at breakfast were delicious, and they even added beef! While the selection wasn't as vast as a Hilton, the quality of ingredients was outstanding. We especially loved the healthy salads with kale. The hotel's location is absolutely perfect, right in the city center. It's only a 10-minute walk to Qinhuang Alley, and a short taxi ride to Xigang Garden, Jinmeng Coast, and Qianshuiwan. We truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely choose this hotel again next time we visit Qinhuangdao!FromSGD 56

A French-inspired retreat amidst the bustle, a perfect stay!
Choosing Sena Residence Harbin was the best decision of my trip. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, the front desk staff's warmth and professionalism were reassuring. They promptly adjusted my room due to my sleep issues, making the check-in process efficient and thoughtful.
Although the hotel is in the vibrant Central Street shopping district, my street-facing room offered surprising tranquility. This is thanks to the excellent double-glazed windows; once closed, they completely shut out the city noise, leaving only peace and comfort. The room itself was spacious and well-laid-out, with no cramped feeling. The bathroom was particularly impressive, featuring a great separate wet and dry area, ample space, and neatly arranged toiletries – attention to detail was evident.
Cleanliness was impeccable. The cleaning staff tidied up daily, keeping the room spotless. What truly touched me was that during my four-night stay, they proactively changed my bed linens once. This dedication to hygiene made my stay incredibly reassuring.FromSGD 41

Downstairs, it's right next to a park, offering expansive views. The hotel facilities are comprehensive, including an executive lounge, self-service laundry room, and a well-equipped kids' area. The equipment and appliances are brand new and work perfectly. The cleaning standards are truly five-star; from the lobby floor to the smallest crevices in the guest rooms, everything is spotless. The bathroom is clean and dry with a separate wet/dry area, and amenities are neatly arranged. The housekeeping service is meticulous and thoughtful, replenishing supplies promptly. The location is super convenient! A ten-minute walk to the left takes you to Qiulin Company and Fendou Food Store, and another ten minutes gets you to the Provincial Museum. To the right, there are many snack bars and BBQ stalls, and if you keep walking, you'll reach the Church of the Intercession. It's also a short taxi or subway ride to Central Street or the riverside. Out of all the hotels I stayed at during my 10-day trip to Harbin, this one had the most convenient transportation.
It seems they host a lot of group bookings, as there were always guests waiting to check in at the front desk every day. So, available rooms might be limited and you should book quickly. I was looking for a place close to the Grand Theatre to catch a show and stumbled upon this gem of a B&B. It's less than a ten-minute ride to the theatre. The hotel manager, a beautiful and kind lady, was absolutely wonderful. I arrived around dinner time, and she even brought me some dumplings! After the musical, she arranged a car to pick me up. A bit disappointed. We were driving, so parking was our top priority. Many hotels near Central Street either only have a few parking spots right at the entrance or no parking at all. This hotel has its own parking lot, and the location is indeed excellent, very close to Central Street. However, the room was tiny, pitifully so; the bed was right there as soon as you opened the door. And the facilities were very, very old. I honestly felt that for this price, the room was a huge letdown – the discrepancy was just too big. The front desk staff, though, were quite friendly and good. I forgot to take pictures, so I used the hotel's images. The pictures are accurate, but in reality, the facilities are much older.FromSGD 21

Our three-day trip to Harbin was made truly memorable by our stay at the JW Marriott Hotel Harbin. The entire experience was a delightful surprise, showcasing the quality of a five-star hotel in every aspect – from the excellent facilities and stunning views to the dining options and the warm, attentive service from the staff. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Harbin.
The hotel boasts a prime location on the north bank of the Songhua River, in the heart of Songbei. It offers convenient access to major attractions like Sun Island, Harbin Grand Theatre, and Polarland. It's also just a 10-15 minute drive to Central Street and the Old Daotai Chinese Baroque Street. The complimentary parking is a huge plus for those traveling by car. The hotel's architecture is modern and grand, and stepping into the lobby, you're greeted by a spacious, high-ceilinged area with sophisticated, minimalist decor, creating a truly impressive ambiance. During check-in, I had the pleasure of being assisted by Riley Kong at the front desk, whose service was truly outstanding and perfectly embodied the principle of 'customer first.' He was enthusiastic, thoughtful, humble, and polite. The check-in process was efficient and seamless. He patiently and meticulously explained the hotel's facilities, provided recommendations for local attractions, and answered all our travel inquiries. His communication struck the perfect balance – not overly zealous, yet genuinely caring and comfortable. A small detail that stood out was his WeChat ringtone; it was the most stylish and tasteful I've ever encountered – unique and classy. Such small details truly reflect a refined personal aesthetic and left a lasting impression.
We stayed in a river-view room, which was spacious and airy, with panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Songhua River. Harbin in September, with autumn colors beginning to emerge, offered breathtaking views of the vast river and the vibrant autumn foliage on both banks. We enjoyed the gentle river breeze during the day and the beautiful sunset in the evening – an absolutely fantastic visual experience. The room's decor was elegant and understated. The bedding was soft and skin-friendly, and the mattress provided just the right amount of support, ensuring a full night's rest after a day of sightseeing. The bathroom featured a wet and dry separation, and the toiletries were of high quality. Hot water was stable, and we could even enjoy the river view while soaking in the bathtub, which added to the ambiance. The Wi-Fi signal in the room was stable, and there were plenty of power outlets. The soundproofing was excellent, making for a very quiet night. Housekeeping was meticulous, keeping the room spotlessly clean, with every detail reflecting the hotel's thoughtful approach.
The hotel's facilities are comprehensive. The 24-hour fitness center is equipped with brand-new machines, and there's also a heated indoor swimming pool, perfect for unwinding and relieving travel fatigue after a day of exploration. Guests booking executive rooms can also enjoy the executive lounge, where the afternoon tea and evening happy hour snacks and drinks are of high quality. Sitting by the window and admiring the river view is a truly delightful experience.
The breakfast buffet also deserves praise. The selection is rich and diverse, offering both Chinese and Western options. There were authentic Northeastern delicacies, as well as Western pastries, coffee, and fresh fruits. The ingredients were fresh, and the food quality was consistently excellent. The dining area was spacious and bright, providing a great start to each day of our trip. The hotel's overall service was impeccable, with thoughtful turndown service and prompt room service. All staff members were polite and patient, and all our requests were handled efficiently.
This trip to Harbin, the JW Marriott Hotel's environment, views, and dining were all satisfying. However, it was truly Riley Kong's professional and warm service at the front desk that added so much warmth to our journey. It's perfectly suited for family trips, friends traveling together, or business travel. I will definitely prioritize staying here again on my next visit to Harbin and sincerely recommend it to all travelers visiting the 'Ice City'.FromSGD 92

The hotel has some pros and cons.
The pros:
1. The location of the hotel is superb, Right on the Northern side of zhongyangdajie.
2. The gym is adequate, it has good strength training options. Unfortunately the AC doesn't work in the room itself.
3. The staff was happy to allow us a late checkout.
The cons:
1. The entrance to the hotel does not have a ramp to go up with the luggage so one must lift it over the stairs into the lobby. I didn't expect that in a 4 star hotel.
2. I've made a reservation for a non smoking room, away from the elevator but got a room with smoke smell, close to the elevator. The staff showed me 3 more rooms but the first two also had smoke smell. Finally we got a room without smell and far from the elevator.
3. The breakfast, in my humble opinion, was subpar. Not too many western options.
4. The hotel doesn't look clean. The surroundings of the elevator need more work.
All in all I was a bit disappointed, considering the price.FromSGD 44

First, let me talk about the hotel itself, to provide some reference for future travelers.
The hotel is located in Songbei District, which is quite convenient if you're planning to visit Sun Island or the Ice and Snow World.
The service was very attentive, and the entire hotel was decorated with unique flair. The staff all wore ethnic costumes, and the ubiquitous log-cabin style gave it a full sense of design. The rooms also featured exceptionally large floor-to-ceiling windows, offering an unbeatable view.
Now, let me share my personal feelings.
I'm originally from Genhe, the very place where Aoluguya (the hotel's inspiration) is located. It's been many years since I moved away and haven't returned to Genhe. Over time, I've even developed a kind of 'near-home apprehension.' For me, choosing Aoluguya was an absolute no-brainer.
My home and my elementary school all had some connection, big or small, to Aoluguya. Staying at Aoluguya this time, there were truly many details that touched me. For example, the photos and stories of the Ewenki tribe in the hotel lobby, the reindeer and birch elements visible everywhere in the lobby, corridors, and rooms, and even the books I found in my room: 'The Right Bank of the Argun River' and 'Aoluguya Customs.' What others might see as a distant and mysterious place, for me, represents familiar hometown sights and sounds ingrained in my very being.
I can't represent all of Genhe, nor do I have the right to speak on behalf of Genhe. But as a Genhe native, I sincerely thank you for creating such a hotel in Harbin, using the imagery, elements, and symbols of Genhe. It allowed me to briefly dream of my hometown, a thousand miles away.
Thank you for keeping this flame alive in Harbin. I wish you prosperous business, so that Harbin will always have a place that holds the snow and wind, the ancient pines, and the negative ions of the Taiga forest. The next time I come to Harbin, or rather, every time from now on, I will definitely come back. 🌲🦌FromSGD 106

I highly recommend staying here. While the hotel is a bit older, the decor is excellent, and the design is very refined. There were quite a few guests staying as well. The breakfast is highly recommended, especially the sauerkraut dumplings – they taste very authentic. They also had sauerkraut with boiled pork slices (Suan Cai Chuan Bai Rou). The snowflake patterns on the carpet at the entrance show the hotel's thoughtfulness towards its guests and its original intention to promote Northeast China's ice and snow culture. Facilities: There's a restaurant on the first floor that offers breakfast. The selection isn't huge, but it's perfectly adequate. The room was spacious and had a large window. There were no strange odors, and the bathroom was a good size with a separate wet and dry area.

This is hands down the best value hotel I've ever stayed at. At just over 200 yuan, it's comparable to hotels costing 300-400 yuan in the south. It's one of the Home Inn hotels! We traveled from Guangxi to bring our child to university in Harbin, and also visited Qiqihar and Changbai Mountain along the way. We booked this hotel for those stops too, staying a total of 10 nights! Firstly, the location is superb. It's at the transfer station for Metro Lines 1 and 2, making it super convenient to get to all the attractions later. Directly across the street is the landmark Qiulin Company, and you can easily explore both the underground and ground-level malls. Secondly, the room facilities are complete, clean, and hygienic, with free laundry and drying services. Plus, the lobby on the first floor offers 24-hour complimentary tea, freshly ground coffee, and small snacks. Every day, we'd grab a hot drink before heading out and when returning, which felt really nice! I can't forget to mention the breakfast – the restaurant environment is lovely, and they offer both Chinese and Western options, along with freshly cooked wontons and noodles. We were very satisfied! FAQs About Harbin Hot Springs
-
Are Harbin's hot springs real geothermal springs?
The ones in this guide are. The Daqing resorts draw from deep geothermal wells in the Songliao Basin, mostly 1,500 to 2,000 m, and Lindian County holds an official hot spring town designation. Maple Leaf Village also uses a well of around 2,000 m. Some pools use heat exchangers to hold temperature in extreme cold, which is normal and does not mean the water is tap water. -
How far are the Harbin hot springs from the city centre?
Only Maple Leaf Village is in Harbin, about 15 km from the centre and 30 to 40 minutes by taxi. The Daqing resorts are roughly two and a half to three hours away by road, or an hour by high-speed rail plus a transfer. The Jilin resorts are three to four hours away in a different province. -
How much does a Harbin hot spring cost?
Expect somewhere between CNY 80 and 200 per adult depending on the resort, the day of the week and how you book, roughly USD 11 to 28. Weekday and advance bookings are cheaper than weekend gate prices, and children's tickets are priced by height rather than age. Confirm the current rate before you travel, as prices change with the season. -
Can I visit a Harbin hot spring in winter?
Yes, and winter is the reason to go, since the outdoor pools are heated to 40 degrees and above while the air sits at minus 20. The experience runs roughly December to February. Outside that window the resorts operate as ordinary water parks. -
Do Harbin hot springs provide towels and robes?
Most do, along with slippers, lockers and basic toiletries. Bring a swimsuit for mixed outdoor pools, warm headwear for the walk outside, and pool shoes. Do not bring jewellery. -
Can I stay overnight at a Harbin hot spring resort?
Yes, at several. Daqing Beiguo, Lianhuan Lake and Hening Lake all have accommodation, and Lianhuan Lake usually includes unlimited hot spring access for guests. Given the driving distances involved, staying overnight is a better plan than driving back at night in winter. -
What should I not bring to a Harbin hot spring?
Leave jewellery and valuables behind. Most resorts provide lockers, but they are not sealed, and you will not be watching your belongings while you are in the water. Keep your phone out of the steam and out of the cold. -
Which Harbin hot spring is best for families?
Daqing Beiguo, for the water-park section alongside the hot springs, and Hening Lake, for the wetland setting and the crane and deer park. Children's tickets are priced by height rather than age, with free entry generally under 1.2 m.
