What is the Singapore Arrival Card (SGAC)?

The Singapore Arrival Card (SGAC) is a mandatory electronic declaration system introduced by Singapore’s Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) in March 2020, replacing the traditional paper disembarkation/embarkation card . It integrates immigration clearance information and a digital health declaration, and it‘s a key document for foreign visitors to enter Singapore.
Notably, the SGAC is not a visa. Even visa-exempt nationals must submit it before arrival, and approval does not guarantee entry—final eligibility is determined by ICA officers at checkpoints . Upon successful submission, travelers receive a confirmation email with an electronic Visit Pass (e-Pass), which replaces the physical passport stamp.
Do I Need a Singapore Arrival Card?

Most travelers to Singapore are required to submit the SGAC, with the following exceptions :
- Travelers transiting through Singapore without clearing immigration (i.e., not leaving the transit area).
- Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents (PRs), and long-term pass holders (e.g., student passes, dependent passes, work passes) entering via land checkpoints (Woodlands or Tuas).
All other foreign visitors, including those eligible for visa-free entry (e.g., Hong Kong SAR passport holders with 30-day visa exemption ), must complete the SGAC before arrival.
How Early Can I Submit My SG Arrival Card?
According to the latest ICA regulations (2026), travelers must submit the SGAC within 3 days (72 hours) prior to arrival, including the arrival day . Submitting too early (beyond 72 hours) is not allowed, as the system will not display your intended arrival date .
Example: If you arrive in Singapore on January 30, you can submit the SGAC from January 28 onwards. To avoid last-minute delays, it is recommended to complete submission 1-2 days before your trip.

How to Download the Digital Singapore Arrival Card

The SGAC online entry form is fully digital—no physical card is issued. You can access and submit it via two official, free channels (third-party paid services are not authorized by ICA ): Visit the ICA SG Arrival Card page. There’s also the MyICA Mobile app for iOS and Android.

- Download the MyICA Mobile app (available on iOS App Store and Google Play Store). For Android users unable to access Google Play, use the official website (see 4.2).
- Open the app and select “Foreign Visitor – SGAC” .
- Adjust the language settings (Simplified Chinese, English, etc.) via the top-right menu for easier operation.
- Proceed to fill in and submit the form (detailed in Section 5). The app allows scanning your passport to auto-import basic information, reducing manual input errors.

- Visit the ICA official SGAC page: Ensure the webpage shows “A Singapore Government Agency Website” at the top-left to avoid fraudulent sites.
- Navigate to “Visitor” → “SG Arrival Card” → “Submit SGAC”.

- Flight/transport details (flight number, arrival mode: commercial aircraft, land, or sea).
- Singapore accommodation address (hotel booking confirmation or residential address; select “Other” if in transit).
- Contact information (international phone number with roaming enabled, email address).
- Health status details (for the mandatory health declaration section).
Singapore Arrival Card - Submission Process
- Enter personal details: Input or scan passport information (passport number, expiry date), full name, date of birth, and nationality.
- Fill in travel details: Select arrival date, purpose of visit (tourism, business, etc.), departure city before Singapore, and destination city after leaving Singapore.
- Complete health declaration: Truthfully declare your health status (e.g., no fever, cough, or other symptoms). Update the declaration immediately via the “Update SGAC” function if your health condition changes after submission.
- Review and submit: Double-check all information (errors may lead to entry denial). Submit the form once confirmed.
- Save confirmation: A PDF confirmation with a QR code will be generated. Save it digitally (phone, tablet) or print a copy. You will also receive the confirmation and e-Pass via email.

Be cautious of third-party agencies charging fees (e.g., 34 EUR or 25 USD)—these services are not affiliated with ICA and offer no additional benefits. Any request for payment during official submission is a red flag for fraud. Report fraudulent websites to ICA immediately.
How to Enter Singapore When You Arrive
Singapore has fully implemented self-service immigration clearance since February 2024, with no manual counters available . Follow these steps for smooth entry:

But it turned out to be truly outstanding! The room was clean. For the same price, you can't compare it to what you'd get back home, but this is Singapore! The hygiene, convenient transportation, and surrounding environment are all top-notch, absolutely superb! It's right next to Funan Mall! Across the street are St Andrew's Cathedral and a museum. It's a maximum 15-minute walk to Merlion Park (900 meters from the hotel), 5 minutes to the Old Hill Street Police Station building, Clarke Quay, 15 minutes to Fort Canning Park's Tree Tunnel, 20 minutes to various museums and Chinatown. Plus, it's only a 3-minute walk to City Hall MRT station – incredibly convenient! Ya Kun Kaya Toast is right inside Funan Mall, and Song Fa Bak Kut Teh is directly opposite the Old Hill Street Police Station, so convenient! The hotel service was also excellent. On check-in day, we met a guy who spoke Chinese, and he arranged a room for us directly facing Marina Bay Sands – absolutely beautiful! We were able to check in early which is a plus. The hotel is right outside MRT Lavender exit B. There are a lot of food shops around. Arab Street is within walking distance. They can change towels everyday but bedding every 2 days, didn't change slippers, a minus. There's a bus stop nearby also. They have a small gym and a swimming pool with no lifeguards. The outdoor swimming pool also isn't too strict unlike other hotels where you'd be required to wear proper swimming attire and head cap. As it says in the notice, swim at your own risk. We didn't avail of the breakfast buffet but they are offering 15SGD per person. Across the hotel is a toast Box where you can have traditional Kaya Toast and Kopi. This is an older hotel with basic facilities. It's comparable to a 3-star hotel in China, and the breakfast is about what you'd expect from a 3-4 star hotel there. Of course, the price is also around 300, but in Singapore dollars.
If you're not traveling with family, you'd find much better standard room options and accommodations for the same price. Our family of four stayed here specifically for the two large beds.
The hotel's location isn't far from the MRT station. Haji Lane and BOSS HOTEL (the starting point for the Legoland shuttle) are all within walking distance, and there are many bus routes nearby, making transportation very convenient. There are plenty of food and drink options downstairs, and there's an Indian minimart across the street from the hotel that's much cheaper than the 7-Eleven down the block.

The location is great, about a five or six-minute walk to Fort Canning MRT station, and the surrounding area is lovely. It's also very close to the bustling city center with malls, convenience stores, food, and coffee shops all nearby.
The room was larger than I expected, with enough space for two suitcases. The view from outside was also very good. There's a pool on the 2nd floor, but I didn't have time to use it. The hotel had a lot of guests and felt lively.
The only downsides were the lack of disposable slippers and the inconvenient shower gel/shampoo, which you'd need to bring yourself. However, there was tea and coffee, and you could boil your own water. The cleaning staff, especially the gentlemen, were very nice and polite, and the room was kept very clean!

Getting to a concert is a breeze – blue line to yellow line, and I was there in half an hour. The airport is also convenient, blue line to green line, about 45 minutes. It's close to Chinatown, with endless food options.
The hotel has been well-maintained over the past decade; the facilities are still quite new. The rooms are as eco-friendly and clean as ever, though after ten years, it does lack a bit of modern tech – no bidet, no smart home system. The main gimmick is the mechanical robotic arm at the self-service breakfast.
The room size is average, not particularly large. The window faces the Singapore Attorney-General's Chambers, with its twin towers of a similar architectural style. The infinity pool on the 5th floor was already picture-perfect ten years ago.
The service is good, very responsive to requests, and increasingly friendly towards Chinese tourists. However, it still falls short compared to Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong or Aranya in China. It's more business-oriented, with no special arrangements for families with children.
The Lime restaurant's buffet breakfast is quite average. It's really not worth paying an extra S$23 for children when you can get authentic Nanyang breakfast at Ya Kun or Toast Box nearby.
I must commend the amenities: a full set of Appelles essential oil skincare and haircare products – they smell and feel great. There's also Bacha drip coffee, TWG tea, and a capsule coffee machine.FromUS$389

I chose this hotel because it's close to the stadium, as I was in Singapore for a concert. The room view was absolutely stunning, with iconic landmarks right outside my window. Breakfast was also fantastic, with a wide variety of options. My only minor complaint was a slightly unpleasant check-in experience, but the hotel was very proactive in making amends, which I really appreciated. The room was clean, but for a two-night booking, they only changed the towels. They didn't restock the minibar or coffee, even though it was included in the room. No coffee, no minibar, no drinks replenished, despite being 'included in the room'. The morning reception staff didn't smile and lacked service-mindedness. They weren't very helpful. I stayed here because I had an early flight the next morning. The location is perfect, as I could do some last-minute shopping at Jewel and prepare for my departure. It felt like a significantly upgraded capsule hotel bed, though I've never actually stayed in a capsule hotel before.
However, the room was tiny. Once I opened my large suitcase, there was barely any space to move around. The shower only had a half-glass door, so if you took a vigorous shower, the floor near the toilet would get soaked. The water pressure was also incredibly weak. Shampoo and body wash were provided, but there was no conditioner.
There were two USB ports for phone charging, but neither of them worked. I managed to charge my phone using an adapter I brought from Japan, but it was slow charging due to the weak current. It took about 5 hours to fully charge. I had some time before hotel check-in, so I stopped by the Priority Pass lounge at Jewel to charge my phone, which was a much more comfortable experience. The showers there were also much more luxurious.
As soon as I entered the room, I found the pink lighting to be distasteful, like a love hotel. You could switch it off, but I couldn't relax at all in a pink room. The bed was plush and comfortable though, which was a plus.FromUS$142

This hotel in Singapore sees a lot of foot traffic. The doorman at the entrance, who was quite elderly, told me to push my luggage up the ramp myself instead of offering to help, even though I'm a woman. However, I saw him assist other foreign guests with their luggage multiple times, which made me wonder if I was overthinking it. The hotel is located at one end of Orchard Road, very close to the Botanic Gardens, which are within walking distance. While it's not very close to the MRT, there's a bus stop right outside. If you're coming from the airport, you can take a direct bus, though it takes a bit longer. The first Chinese staff member who assisted me spoke very standard Mandarin and was very easygoing. Many airline crew members stay at this hotel. The rooms are a bit small, and so are the beds. The hotel pool looks exactly like it does in the photos!FromUS$192
