This is a long-standing 5-star hotel with an excellent location. While check-in had a few hitches, Ms. Tian and Ms. Wang at the front desk communicated and coordinated proactively, resolving everything quickly and smoothly. The only slight drawback is that some of the hotel's facilities are a bit dated, and I hope they get upgraded soon. Also, the entrance and exit to the parking garage are very narrow, something to be aware of if you're driving. Environment: Located near Tianfu Square, right in the city center. It's about 1.5km from various city attractions, easily walkable. The night views are beautiful.

The location is great, very close to Tongzilin subway station. Line 1 goes directly to Wenshu Monastery and Chengdu South Station, which is super convenient. The hotel has a constant-temperature swimming pool and a warm-water soaking pool. I went twice and had them almost to myself, which was fantastic for a family of three who love to swim. The room isn't huge, but it's clean and sufficient, and the TV supports screen mirroring, which is very handy. There are two minor points that aren't exactly flaws: 1. The hallway scent in the hotel is a bit too strong. 2. Even with the AC/heater off, the duvet was still too warm; taking it off made it cold, which was a bit awkward.From$63

This is my third trip to Chengdu, and this time I came with friends. We chose to visit before the students went on winter break, so the price hadn't inflated yet, around 200 RMB per night, which was super comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located directly across from Wenshu Monastery subway station's E exit. Just be prepared for a bit of a walk once you're down in the subway station. It's about 3 kilometers from here to IFS Taikoo Li, so getting around is really easy. For this stay, I booked a room with a bathtub and bought a bath bomb – the aroma was heavenly, so incredibly relaxing, haha! Exiting from Chunxi Road Metro Station's A exit, you can look up and immediately see the hotel – location is 100 out of 100! The hotel entrance was a bit tricky to find; you have to go around through the adjacent driveway. The front desk service was very attentive, and they even helped me receive my Taobao packages. The bed was super warm and comfortable for sleeping.
The hotel occupies several floors of this building. At night, the glass doors are opened, and you need a key card to enter and exit, which means the security measures are quite good.
The breakfast was quite abundant, and they even had freshly cooked noodles. The gym was simple but had everything you need, including barbells, which are rarely found in typical hotels!
I'd definitely return to this hotel on my next visit to Chengdu, especially for its location and the excellent front desk service.From$42

This Shangri-La is an older hotel, and although it was renovated a few years ago, the room facilities and layout still show a distinct sense of age, especially in terms of smart technology. However, none of this made me regret choosing it for my trip. On the contrary, I continue to be a loyal supporter of well-established five-star hotels. As my child put it, 'It's old, but it's great!' From the proactive contact by hotel staff SANDY before check-in, to her attentive inquiries about our needs throughout our stay, everything was seamless. The welcome amenities, daily water replenishment in the room, turndown service, the giant panda toy for my child, and even the follow-up on invoicing before departure were all handled thoughtfully. The service center and housekeeping staff were meticulous, and NANCY at the front desk even helped my child print out daily homework. The pool environment and water quality were excellent, and the breakfast service at Fusion Café, along with the consistent quality of the food, offered a wide variety and was promptly refilled. Staff seating and table cleaning were always timely. Both the soft and hard services demonstrated Shangri-La's characteristic attentiveness, and my whole family was very satisfied. On the 29th floor, there's a gym and a laundry room, which are both fully equipped. What I found particularly thoughtful was that if I went out in the morning, my laundry would be washed and returned to me by evening. The room was very spacious, but the bathroom was a bit small and not very well laid out. I really liked the smart toilet in the bathroom – it was nice and warm to sit on. The staff were very friendly. One morning, we borrowed the microwave to heat up some porridge, and a staff member proactively offered us some small pickled vegetables. It wasn't much, but it made us feel very comfortable. The pool water was quite clean, but the indoor temperature was a bit low in winter; it should be fine in summer. I have a couple of suggestions for the hotel: consider putting some snacks and drinks in the mini-fridge – it’s a low-cost amenity that guests would appreciate. First of all I’ll mention that the setting was very beautiful and the rooms were wonderful. The staff were friendly and tried their best to help and make us comfortable. They went out of their way to cater to our restricted diet as well . The issues I had were the location (mostly 1.5 hours to get anywhere. Sometimes longer with traffic) and the language barrier. I can’t fault them on the language but I believe I had a lot of missed opportunities because of it (?). But if you plan on doing any activities near the city center then I would I suggest you book a different hotel and keep this one for after you are done just to relax with the beautiful scenery. My kids felt car sick every drive back to the hotel. I also felt I wasted time because of the drive when I could have used it more productively. So bottom line, would I go back? Definitely. I absolutely loved this hotel so much. The overall concept has a very Muji Japanese-style feel, simple, calm, and beautifully designed.
All the staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and always smiling. Even though there was a language barrier, they truly tried their best to help us with everything, which I really appreciated.
My son accidentally left his bag in a Didi taxi, and the receptionist willingly helped us by keeping the bag safe and contacting the driver for us. Their honesty and helpfulness really touched me.
The hotel is very kid-friendly, extremely clean, and comfortable. We even received a room upgrade with a private hot spring in the room. The staff took the time to patiently explain how to use the hot spring and all the facilities.
The smart toilet was honestly one of the best features so cool and comfortable!

Jinjiang Hotel is a classic and well-established hotel in Chengdu. Its central location, right by the Jinjiang River, makes it incredibly convenient for getting to any destination.
Despite not being a high-rise, it offers expansive views and beautiful scenery.
While the room decor might be a bit dated, it still maintains a dignified and elegant charm. Both the cleanliness and service were excellent; we not only received fresh fruit but also a complimentary congee on our first night.
What's truly impressive is that they still provide turn-down service, a thoughtful touch that many star hotels have discontinued.
Upon arrival, we were also gifted an adorable little panda souvenir, complete with the Jinjiang tag – it was absolutely charming!

1. Personally, I am not used to Sichuan food and the breakfast really has a very good variety for those international tourists and their own internal tourists. 2. The staff are very polite, gentle, friendly and towards elderly people they are very respectful.
3. The room was very spacious. The toilet is huge too. Clean. The shower area, they are very considerate to put an anti-slip mat.

As it was our first time in Chengdu, we were unsure where to eat, and they enthusiastically recommended some fantastic local eateries; the food they suggested was indeed delicious.
With all the nearby *chuanchuan* (Sichuan skewers), Sichuan cuisine, and hotpot, we came back to the hotel one evening smelling distinctly of hotpot. Wanting to get some early rest, we asked the front desk if they could help dry our clothes and return them to our room the next morning. They agreed without a moment's hesitation, which was incredibly thoughtful and considerate.
The breakfast at the hotel restaurant was also delicious, especially the *chaoshou* (Sichuan wontons). The staff in the restaurant were very attentive and provided great service too. Our initial reason for booking this hotel was its geographical location, and it truly lived up to our expectations. It's perfectly situated, very close to all the major attractions such as Du Fu Thatched Cottage, Kuanzhai Alley, Wenshu Monastery, Wuhou Shrine, Jinli Ancient Street, and more.
Overall, it was an extremely satisfying travel experience. Chengdu, with its vibrant city atmosphere and rich cultural environment, left a wonderful impression on us. We will definitely choose this hotel again on our next visit to Chengdu.From$33
