- Line 2 (Dark Green): The ultimate tourist route. It snakes along the southern coast, passing Taicun, Zhiquan Road, May 4th Square (Wusi Guangchang), and Shilaoren Beach.
- Line 3 (Blue): The historic core connector from Qingdao Railway Station to Qingdao North Railway Station, stopping at Zhongshan Park and Huiquan Square.
- Line 8 (Teal): The crucial link to Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport (TAO) from the city center (interchanging at Qingdao North).

Qingdao Metro Operating Hours & Frequency
- Operating Hours: Trains generally start running between 5:30 AM and 6:00 AM and shut down between 10:00 PM and 11:00 PM. (Line 8 airport services run until 10:00 PM).
- Frequency: Arrives every 3 to 5 minutes during peak commute hours (7:00 AM – 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM). Off-peak waiting times are 6 to 10 minutes.
How to Pay and Ride Qingdao Metro
Qingdao Metro uses a distance-based fare structure starting at CNY 2 (approx. $0.28 USD) and maxing out around CNY 8 for very long trips.
1.Get your ticket or scan code:
You have a few straightforward choices:
- Mobile Payment (Alipay/WeChat): By far the easiest. In Alipay, change your city to "Qingdao", search for the "Transport" mini-app, and activate the "Qingdao Metro QR Code". Tap your phone directly at the turnstiles.
- Physical Transit Card (Qingdao Tong): Available at service counters. It gives you a 10% discount on standard fares. (subject to change)
- Single-Trip Tokens / 1-Day & 3-Day Passes: Vending machines in the lobbies accept cash and local mobile pay. 1-day or 3-day passes are perfect if you plan on visiting multiple beaches and the Beer Museum in a short span.
2.Pass security screening:
Every passenger must place their luggage, backpacks, and personal items through the X-ray security conveyor belt before entering the boarding gates.
3.Scan and enter:
Scan your mobile transit QR code or tap your card/token on the gate scanner. Follow the bilingual English/Chinese overhead signs to the correct platform.
4.Tap out at destination:
Tap your mobile QR code or card again at the exit gate to calculate the final fare. If using a single-trip token, drop it directly into the slot on the top of the turnstile to exit.

The location is great. Ginza is just across the road, and next to it is Yunxiao Road, a street full of seafood restaurants. Across from Ginza, there's a Qingdao Beer bar, so seafood and beer for a late-night snack is very convenient.
The May Fourth Square is within walking distance, and the lights on the buildings along the river at night are lovely. It's also not far from MixC, which has plenty of food and drink options.
It's very close to the subway station, making it easy to get to various attractions.
During the National Day holiday, the occupancy rate must have been quite high. The breakfast area was packed; for two days straight, we had to pull up an extra chair to a two-person table. Plates and cups ran out, and all the condiments at the noodle station were gone.
The room itself was quite old-fashioned, with a wet and dry bathroom that wasn't separated, and a bathtub, which was a bit inconvenient.
The room had a floor-to-ceiling window, offering a distant view of the Olympic Sailing Center and the lighthouse, which was a nice touch.
We received a drink coupon upon check-in, which could be used for beer. I thought it would be draft beer, but it turned out to be canned beer, which was a bit disappointing.From€56

We chose this hotel after a lot of searching for our trip to Qingdao with the kids. Its location is fantastic, very close to the Olympic Sailing Center and May Fourth Square, and you can even see the sea. The hotel service was excellent; we arrived quite late on the first day, and the staff were very warm and friendly. They even upgraded our room! The room was spotless, and the soundproofing was great – unlike some hotels where the hallway noise can be an issue. They also gave us vouchers for complimentary drinks. The only minor downside was that one side of the bed didn't have a working charging port. Overall, though, it was a really good stay.From€45

Upon arrival for check-in, the Front Office team not only handled the basic reception but also paid close attention to the details of my travel plans. They considered the actual habits of different guests, communicating concisely and practically, avoiding overly formal pleasantries. When I provided feedback to the Front Office regarding my stay, the information was efficiently synchronized with the Housekeeping department. The seamless communication between departments meant I didn't have to repeat myself, and the closed-loop handling of issues was truly reassuring.
Housekeeping's service was subtle yet profound. Daily room tidying was meticulous and thorough, with items neatly arranged, and the bathroom and bedding maintained to be clean and comfortable. Any requests for additional supplies or simple adjustments to the room's setup were responded to promptly and executed efficiently, without any delays. Even without direct interaction, I could genuinely feel the staff's dedication.
One department handles external reception and coordination, while the other maintains the quality of the living space within the room. These two departments complement each other perfectly. After we checked in, she proactively added me on WeChat. Later, when we inquired about the buffet restaurant's operating hours and dining details, she promptly and thoroughly responded to all our questions. On the morning of our departure, Nina specifically messaged us to remind us about collecting our farewell gift and extended National Day wishes – full of thoughtful details.
Due to an unexpected change in our itinerary, we encountered traffic on our way back and planned to have the buffet at the hotel before checking out. After explaining the situation to Nina, she was incredibly understanding of our arrangements. Her communication was gentle and patient; she didn't rigidly adhere to policies but fully empathized with the inconvenience of traveling with family.

The hotel boasts a grand architectural design and numerous rooms, reflecting the style of an established star-rated hotel. Upon entering the room, there was a noticeable musty smell. However, the mattress was very thick and incredibly comfortable to sleep on. We ran out of tissues in the room, but the housekeeper promptly brought some when we requested them. There were no disposable bath liners for the bathtub, and they weren't available for purchase, which is an area where service could definitely be improved.
Given its large scale, the hotel could consider offering childcare services similar to Club Med. A kids' play area with soft play structures, slides, and a ball pit would be a great addition, allowing parents to relax. There was no buffet available. With such a large property, inter-departmental communication seems to be an issue. The information provided by the housekeeper for the 1928 Beer Bar's dining options was incorrect.
After checking out, the housekeeper asked for a good review. I provided some suggestions, but the housekeeper, 'Dabaitu' (Big White Rabbit), never replied. It feels like the service in northern China is often a 'do-it-because-my-boss-told-me-to' mentality, and any extra requests from guests are seen as an inconvenience.
I really liked the breakfast buffet where many of the attendants were older, creating a very harmonious atmosphere, like being cared for by parents while away from home. The breakfast selection was extensive. There are two swimming pools, one indoor and one outdoor. Cat petting costs 19.9 for children and 29.9 for adults, with single entry and unlimited time. Feeding animals costs 10 yuan, which includes one portion of feed. **However, if you write a good review for 1 yuan, you get fewer carrots than the 10 yuan portion. The animals seemed a bit pathetic, with the little horse constantly kicking the wire fence.** There are two swimming pools, both indoor and outdoor.
The buffet at the 1928 Beer Bar is more Western-style. Many people might not be used to it. We tried it, and the quality of the desserts was excellent!
There's a beach right behind the hotel, with some rocks, but not too many. You can go tide pooling in the early morning and at night. It's too hot during the day due to strong sun, and there isn't much seafood to find then either.
The package included access to the Haiquanwan Hot Springs, but I must mention: it was dirty. There were no tissues or disposable combs in the hair-drying area (only a few scattered combs for everyone to share). With this level of service, I won't be returning.
The hotel's location is indeed a bit remote, making it suitable for self-driving. There's a Shandong University cafeteria and museum nearby, which I'd give five stars!From€43

Coming to Qingdao for National Day, we stayed at the Haitian Hotel for four days and three nights. We booked a twin room with a partial sea view. I didn't have specific floor requests, and even on the 9th floor, we still had a sea view. The room was well-equipped, and supplies were replenished very quickly. It was very quiet during rest periods, which gets full marks. The breakfast was also very abundant. In terms of transportation, we took taxis everywhere, as it's a bit far from the subway station. Crucially, Xiao Shang was also very responsible, checking in daily to see if we needed anything. Our child was over 120cm, so breakfast was originally going to be charged, but Xiao Shang promptly helped me resolve this issue. Overall, we are very satisfied with the Haitian Hotel.From€114

First off, the location is fantastic. The hotel is right by the First Bathing Beach, which was perfect for my child to explore the tide pools.
The cliffside restaurant on the first floor is incredibly pleasant for enjoying the view and relaxing, giving you a wonderful sense of being away from it all. In the evening, having a drink there really sets a great mood. The food itself is quite ordinary, but the surrounding scenery and ambiance make up for any imperfections.
The front desk staff were lovely – beautiful, friendly, and gentle. Sisters 3075 and 3029 left a particularly good impression on us, and we truly felt the sincerity and friendliness of the people of Qingdao.
The room facilities are a bit dated but still clean. My husband loved lounging on the sofa, admiring the sea view, and kept saying how comfortable he was. Housekeeping was good; they cleaned regularly and replenished supplies. However, their response to personalized requests wasn't very proactive. For example, I noticed the kettle wasn't working and asked someone to check it. Initially, they suggested I try a different outlet, but the available outlets in the room weren't suitable for boiling water due to safety concerns. After I insisted, someone did come. It turned out the issue wasn't the kettle itself, but rather that the kettle's outlet only had power when the room card was inserted. Overall, housekeeping services met our basic needs.
My child and husband enjoyed the buffet at the 25th-floor revolving restaurant. I personally found it to be good value for money, especially with the stunning, unobstructed 360-degree views and complimentary drinks. It was great.
Overall, it was a wonderful stay! We'll likely choose this hotel again next time we visit Qingdao.From€50

The villas have different types of layouts. Customer service will contact you to choose before you stay. It is especially suitable for 5 to 6 people, with a bed of 1.8 meters, 1.5 meters, and 1.2 meters, and a tatami, which is equivalent to four bedrooms.
The underground floor is a hot spring and sauna room, one indoor and one outdoor. I prefer the outdoor hot spring. Although it is not big, it is very comfortable to soak in the hot spring with a breeze, which is much more comfortable than the indoor one. The customer service said that it was disinfected with 84 before check-in, but I didn't see it with my own eyes. The hot spring water must be put in advance. First, the temperature is too high and needs to be cooled for a while. If it can't be cooled, add cold water. Second, it takes a long time. Don't believe the thermometer next to the hot spring. It shows that it is scalding when it is 41 degrees, but 35 degrees is just right. There is a massage bed on the underground floor, and technicians can come to do essential oil massage or foot massage. There is also a small children's playground, which is very thoughtful.
The breakfast is delivered to the room, which is very rich. You can have dinner in the restaurant. The environment is very good, the dishes and service are also good. I strongly recommend charcoal grilled beef ribs, which are super delicious.
The shampoo and shower gel in the room are from the L'Occitane verbena series, and other things are also complete, including a toilet cover. The quality of the toothbrush is average, so it is recommended to bring your own. There are two types of pillows: buckwheat and silk cotton, which is very considerate.
The kitchen utensils are complete, you can cook, and there are soy sauce and peanut oil.
Please forgive me for not taking photos, the overall experience is still very good.
There is a coastal park 15 minutes away from the hotel by car. The next morning, I went there just in time for low tide. I bought sea-hunting tools from the surrounding area and dug a small bucket of clams. There were few people and many clams, which was too fun.
Overall, I was quite satisfied with this trip, and the price-performance ratio was very high. I would like to make a few suggestions, and I hope there will be improvements next time I go. 1. The tatami mat is a bit hard to lay a layer of mattress, and it is recommended to match it with a soft mattress in the future. 2. The toilet on the first floor of the basement is not well hygienic, and there are yellow stains on the toilet seat. I wiped it all again with alcohol. 3. We stayed at this apartment hotel for a group of four with a child. The room was indeed very large, perfect for a family trip. However, the room was quite old, with some creaky floors and an outdated hairdryer. The staff's professionalism was average; they gave us the wrong directions twice when we asked for directions. The buffet was also rather mediocre in both variety and taste.
The hotel provided two complimentary shower tickets, which my family members found quite good. There was a play area for children where we could play for a while.
I'd like to specifically mention that there's a Ruijiahe Chicken Skewers restaurant nearby, just a 10-minute walk away. Their fried chicken skewers are incredibly tender, and their cold beef tendon salad is delicious!

Overall, it was a very comfortable stay, living up to its reputation as a luxury hotel.
The room was spacious and clean, with European-style decor. From the balcony, you could see the ocean. The hotel is just across the road from the seaside boardwalk, perfect for a stroll. Wheat Island, a popular网红 spot, is less than 2 km away on foot.
Breakfast was incredibly lavish; there was no way to finish it all. The buffet dinner was also quite impressive – again, so much food, couldn't finish it all! You can't take too much at once, as it gets cold quickly.
Service was excellent. There were staff to help with luggage, turndown service, and even someone to wipe down cars.
I didn't bring my child this time, but I'll definitely bring them back. There are lots of entertainment facilities for kids on the B1 floor that we didn't get to experience.From€86

After checking into this hotel, I developed a widespread red rash and itchy allergic reaction. The bedding likely wasn't thoroughly disinfected. They didn't change the sheets, and even when I asked for room cleaning, they still didn't change them. When I inquired, they claimed they did, but the watermelon juice I spilled was still there the next day! They simply didn't change the sheets, which caused my allergies. The soundproofing is also terrible; I could hear people yelling next door, and no one answered when I called the front desk at night. The air conditioning was also very noisy. Honestly, the only positive was the spacious room; everything else was subpar. The staff's service attitude was okay, but the hygiene standards are low and definitely not worth the price.From€45

I frequently choose this hotel for my business trips. It's super convenient, just a 20-minute taxi ride from the high-speed train station. The front desk staff are friendly and efficient with check-in and check-out, and they even prepare my invoice in advance. Sister Chenchen, in particular, is very enthusiastic; she already remembers me and addresses me directly every time, which is very kind. I love the hotel's lake view king room; the view is excellent and it's very quiet. The coffee at breakfast is freshly ground and especially fragrant. The hotel has its own beach and infinity pool, which is convenient for children to play in the water and change clothes. The day before check-in, the housekeeper Wanwan contacted me to confirm my itinerary and needs. Her service was warm and patient. Our room was arranged on the 10th floor of Building 2, not far from the lobby elevator, and the balcony had an excellent view. Thanks to Wanwan.
The Lalu's spatial design is very open, echoing the vast sea. The room is large, and the balcony is long, making for a very comfortable stay.
Although there are some signs of age, the room is very clean and odor-free, which shows that a lot of effort goes into maintaining it. The controls for lights, curtains, and air conditioning are conveniently located in three places: on the desk and on both sides of the bed. The towel rail has a heating function, and holding a warm towel instantly lifts your mood. Including bathrobes, the room is equipped with 16 hangers, which is incredibly friendly for families with young children who play in the water. Coupled with the large balcony, there's ample space to dry all your clothes. The hotel's showerhead, though simple, has clear directions for switching between handheld and overhead, so there's no guessing or fumbling. The disposable slippers have thick, soft soles, feeling like you're walking on clouds. The entire room feels understated and solid, not trying to show off, but simply providing guests with a simple, peaceful, comfortable, and leisurely stay.
In the evening, there are bonfires and a BBQ on the beach, where you can enjoy meat and dance while watching children search for shellfish.
During my stay, I tried the dinner buffet at ”Eleven Kitchen.” If you don't want to leave the hotel, this is a good option, with a rich variety and good taste.
The hotel's color scheme is rich and deep, and the decorative choices are unique, yet the extensive use of transparent glass design keeps all areas of the hotel bright and inviting, not intimidating. The elevator does make a noticeable sound when arriving at a floor, which is a bit unusual, but it aligns with the overall understated style of the hotel, so it's not alarming. Some online reviews are simply exaggerated.

A special shout-out to Xiao Jia, whose service response was incredibly prompt. She proactively added a bed guard for my baby. Because I'm sensitive to noise, she thoughtfully arranged a quieter room for me on the second night. The breakfast selection at the Qingweiliao restaurant downstairs was extensive, and you can also order lunch and dinner there; the food was delicious and didn't have tourist-trap pricing.
