The Qingdao Metro Map 2026 & Navigation

Source: Qingdao Metro Full Map Wikipedia
To map out your route, you can get physical maps at any station hub, but your best tool is a smartphone. The official "Qingdao Metro" app is excellent, but for English-friendly, real-time routing, Baidu Maps or Amap (Gaode) are the gold standards. Both provide step-by-step guidance, exact exit numbers for popular beaches, and transfer schedules.

Qingdao Metro Operational Lines & Tourist Hotspots
Qingdao features 8 active lines spanning the coastal scenery:
- Line 1 (Yellow): Connects the West Coast (Huangdao) to the North. Stops include Qingdao Railway Station and Qingdao North Railway Station.
- Line 2 (Dark Green): The ultimate tourist route. It snakes along the southern coast, passing Taicun, Zhiquan Road, May 4th Square (Wusi Guangchang), and Shilaoren Beach.
- Line 3 (Blue): The historic core connector from Qingdao Railway Station to Qingdao North Railway Station, stopping at Zhongshan Park and Huiquan Square.
- Line 8 (Teal): The crucial link to Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport (TAO) from the city center (interchanging at Qingdao North).
- Line 11 (Blue-Gray): A spectacular, mostly elevated "coastal light rail" that glides along the Laoshan coastline to the university district.
Qingdao Metro Operating Hours & Frequency
- Operating Hours: Trains generally start running between 5:30 AM and 6:00 AM and shut down between 10:00 PM and 11:00 PM. (Line 8 airport services run until 10:00 PM).
- Frequency: Arrives every 3 to 5 minutes during peak commute hours (7:00 AM – 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM). Off-peak waiting times are 6 to 10 minutes.
How to Pay and Ride Qingdao Metro
Qingdao Metro uses a distance-based fare structure starting at CNY 2 (approx. $0.28 USD) and maxing out around CNY 8 for very long trips.

1.Get your ticket or scan code:
You have a few straightforward choices:
- Mobile Payment (Alipay/WeChat): By far the easiest. In Alipay, change your city to "Qingdao", search for the "Transport" mini-app, and activate the "Qingdao Metro QR Code". Tap your phone directly at the turnstiles.
- Physical Transit Card (Qingdao Tong): Available at service counters. It gives you a 10% discount on standard fares. (subject to change)
- Single-Trip Tokens / 1-Day & 3-Day Passes: Vending machines in the lobbies accept cash and local mobile pay. 1-day or 3-day passes are perfect if you plan on visiting multiple beaches and the Beer Museum in a short span.
2.Pass security screening:
Every passenger must place their luggage, backpacks, and personal items through the X-ray security conveyor belt before entering the boarding gates.

3.Scan and enter:
Scan your mobile transit QR code or tap your card/token on the gate scanner. Follow the bilingual English/Chinese overhead signs to the correct platform.
4.Tap out at destination:
Tap your mobile QR code or card again at the exit gate to calculate the final fare. If using a single-trip token, drop it directly into the slot on the top of the turnstile to exit.

Choosing this place was such a smart move, I didn't expect such great value for money during the summer holiday! The price was fair, especially considering how prime the location is around May Fourth Square, and they didn't overcharge. It's super convenient for transport, just a 5-minute walk from Fushanso Station. The room was clean and well-maintained, feeling quite new with no signs of wear.
I highly recommend their breakfast. While it might not be as extensive as a large five-star hotel, the taste was surprisingly good, and they offered new varieties every day. I always found something delicious! I particularly recommend their butter – it's incredibly rich and fragrant! The corn porridge had a creamy taste, and the roujiamo (meat burger) and stir-fried noodles were also very tasty, even foreigners were enjoying them. The oden was quite good too. I could eat four slices of toast with that butter in the morning, as shown in the picture!
Overall, highly recommended! 👍FromBRL 441

Great location! It's a short taxi ride to May Fourth Square, Olympic Sailing Center, and Wheat Island. For Laoshan Mountain, there's a subway station right across the street, just two transfers to get there. There are tons of fantastic food options nearby! The decor has an old-money vibe, which is understandable given how long it's been around, but for an old-timer like me, it's quite charming 😂. The hotel service is excellent! The only minor drawback is the hardware in the swimming pool and bathrooms on the second basement level. Even though the pool seems to be outsourced, the staff there are all incredibly friendly!FromBRL 370

Room: The floor I was on was average. The soundproofing was decent, but the facilities are quite old. The TV was slow to turn on, and the bathtub faucet leaked. Both of the children's playpens provided had holes.
Service: The service was very mediocre, I'd even say poor. I've stayed in many hotels, and this Westin really underperformed. Especially the front desk staff during check-in – they didn't provide any basic information about the hotel, like breakfast times or the pool's location. We had two kids, two strollers, luggage, and a bunch of bags, and all the staff completely ignored us. Not one person offered to help. The only positive point was the housekeeping gentleman, who was very diligent and responsible despite all the issues.
Breakfast: We booked for three consecutive days and specifically included breakfast. The food selection wasn't very rich, and the service was still bad. On the first morning, a Saturday, we went down around 9 AM and had to queue. With the crowd, the service simply couldn't keep up. We were moved twice, and the young lady at the noodle station was flustered. On the second day, they couldn't even replenish cups and bowls in time, and many dishes weren't refilled after 9:30 AM. We just gave up on breakfast on the third day.
All food deliveries were sent to a central locker, and we had to call concierge to have them brought up, which added extra work.
For this price, this location, and this service, I'm extremely disappointed. Staying here for three days then moving to the Haitian hotel truly showed me that there's no comparison. The Haitian hotel wins hands down. This is a genuine review; it was so bad that I had to comment. The only benefit for traveling with kids was the heated 'vibrancy pool,' which the children enjoyed. That's it.FromBRL 632

A special thanks to our concierge, Cherry, whose service was incredibly warm and thoughtful. As a first-time visitor, I wasn't familiar with the local area or transportation, and online food guides were chaotic and unreliable, making me worried about picking the wrong places. Cherry understood my desire to try authentic local cuisine and went above and beyond by taking her personal time to hand-draw a food map. This map clearly marked genuine BBQ joints,特色混沌 (local specialty wontons), and other established local eateries in the Shinan District. She cleverly helped me avoid tourist traps, precisely noting store locations, opening hours, and average spending per person. Beyond that, she kindly advised on transportation methods and reminded me to steer clear of congested routes.
The hotel's facilities were equally impressive. Our room was brightly lit with abundant natural light, and the soft furnishings were sophisticated yet minimalist. The housekeeping was impeccable, and amenities were always well-stocked. Cherry's sincerity shone through; there was no pushy sales talk, just naturally comfortable service. These thoughtful, personalized touches, though small, truly doubled the happiness of our trip. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to fellow travelers – it's reliable and won't disappoint. I'll definitely choose this place again for my next trip!FromBRL 679

This hotel's biggest draws are its unbeatable location and incredible sea views. It's right next to the Olympic Sailing Center, and you can walk straight out to May Fourth Square, making it a prime spot for watching the light show. The rooms are spacious and bright, especially the high-floor sea-view rooms – you can lie on the sofa and take in the stunning night views of Fushan Bay. The breakfast is varied and includes local specialties. Service is top-notch; the front desk staff are professional and friendly, accommodating room requests. While it's an older five-star hotel that's been open for years and shows a bit of age, it's generally well-maintained and doesn't detract from a comfortable stay. We had a wonderfully cozy stay at this hotel—it felt like a peaceful escape by the sea. The room was warm and inviting, with a stunning ocean view that made every morning feel special. We spent hours at the water park, which was clean, fun, and perfect for both kids and adults. The staff were genuinely friendly without being intrusive, and the little comforts—like plush robes, blackout curtains, and fresh pastries at breakfast—made all the difference. The hotel service was excellent. As soon as our car pulled up, a staff member came out to help us with our luggage and escorted us all the way to our room. You rarely find this level of service anymore. The breakfast was plentiful, and the dining environment was pleasant. They're also pet-friendly and don't charge extra, providing various pet supplies and toys in the room. The dedicated pet rooms even have disposable duvet covers, pillowcases, and sheets, which was a nice touch. Staying at the Le Méridien Qingdao West Coast was a delightful experience. The hotel's gardens and sea views truly created a relaxing, resort-like atmosphere. The only minor drawback was that the hot food at breakfast was a bit slow to be refilled, leading to a short wait during peak hours.
However, Levi Shang at the front desk handled my check-in with great efficiency. He verified all my information seamlessly. When I asked for recommendations on less crowded local spots to visit, he provided some incredibly useful and off-the-beaten-path suggestions. The hotel boasts a luxurious and upscale design, and the butler service was exceptional. We booked a cloud-view room, and the view outside was fantastic. The only minor drawback was the room layout, which felt a bit cramped and not very open. The breakfast buffet had a great ambiance and offered a rich variety of high-quality dishes. It wasn't one of those buffets that looks fancy but leaves you wondering what to eat; the food stations and customer flow were very well-organized. The Eggs Benedict were particularly delicious. I booked a 270-degree room, and upon arrival, they thoughtfully upgraded me to a special sea view king room, which significantly enhanced my sea-watching experience. The room was also several floors higher than what I originally booked, offering an excellent view! The cleaning lady was very warm and diligent; the room was spotless when I checked in. Although I didn't request cleaning during my stay, she'd ask every day if I needed anything cleaned and always replenished bottled water, tissues, and other consumables daily. The hotel's location is superb, making it easy to catch a taxi, bus, or subway. The beach is right across the street, and it's just a two-minute walk to the Third Bathing Beach. A ten-minute stroll along the coastal boardwalk leads to May Fourth Square, and you can easily walk to Badaguan and Taipingjiao Park. The Olympic Sailing Center, Lover's Dam, Yanner Island, Wheat Island, and Signal Hill are all within a few kilometers. Qingdao feels like a big park where you can relax just by walking a few steps, even if you don't visit the famous tourist spots; simply strolling around the neighborhood every day is delightful. Just be careful when crossing the street at crosswalks, as cars can drive quite fast at many intersections without traffic lights. The villas have different types of layouts. Customer service will contact you to choose before you stay. It is especially suitable for 5 to 6 people, with a bed of 1.8 meters, 1.5 meters, and 1.2 meters, and a tatami, which is equivalent to four bedrooms.
The underground floor is a hot spring and sauna room, one indoor and one outdoor. I prefer the outdoor hot spring. Although it is not big, it is very comfortable to soak in the hot spring with a breeze, which is much more comfortable than the indoor one. The customer service said that it was disinfected with 84 before check-in, but I didn't see it with my own eyes. The hot spring water must be put in advance. First, the temperature is too high and needs to be cooled for a while. If it can't be cooled, add cold water. Second, it takes a long time. Don't believe the thermometer next to the hot spring. It shows that it is scalding when it is 41 degrees, but 35 degrees is just right. There is a massage bed on the underground floor, and technicians can come to do essential oil massage or foot massage. There is also a small children's playground, which is very thoughtful.
The breakfast is delivered to the room, which is very rich. You can have dinner in the restaurant. The environment is very good, the dishes and service are also good. I strongly recommend charcoal grilled beef ribs, which are super delicious.
The shampoo and shower gel in the room are from the L'Occitane verbena series, and other things are also complete, including a toilet cover. The quality of the toothbrush is average, so it is recommended to bring your own. There are two types of pillows: buckwheat and silk cotton, which is very considerate.
The kitchen utensils are complete, you can cook, and there are soy sauce and peanut oil.
Please forgive me for not taking photos, the overall experience is still very good.
There is a coastal park 15 minutes away from the hotel by car. The next morning, I went there just in time for low tide. I bought sea-hunting tools from the surrounding area and dug a small bucket of clams. There were few people and many clams, which was too fun.
Overall, I was quite satisfied with this trip, and the price-performance ratio was very high. I would like to make a few suggestions, and I hope there will be improvements next time I go. 1. The tatami mat is a bit hard to lay a layer of mattress, and it is recommended to match it with a soft mattress in the future. 2. The toilet on the first floor of the basement is not well hygienic, and there are yellow stains on the toilet seat. I wiped it all again with alcohol. 3. This is my second stay at Le Méridien Qingdao while visiting the city. It happened to be during the summer holiday, so the room rate was quite a bit higher than my last visit, which is understandable.
The check-in was handled by a very enthusiastic young man. He was efficient, answered all our questions, and even proactively offered us complimentary breakfast, which we really appreciated. We also received a complimentary local Qingdao specialty drink upon check-in 🥤 The hotel itself isn't brand new, but overall, it still deserves a high rating. The cleaning staff on our floor always greeted us, and the room was tidied up spotless every day. The air conditioning and hot water worked perfectly, and the room size was also quite generous.

Traveling with kids, our last stop in the city led us to this hotel, chosen based on reviews. We stayed for two nights, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The service, in particular, was very thoughtful; we had transfers arranged throughout our stay, and someone proactively offered water and guidance with a smile in the lobby.
1. **Transportation**: The hotel is about 1 kilometer from the subway, which isn't ideal, but they offer shuttle services if you book in advance. On the flip side, it's very close to many popular attractions. A taxi ride usually takes about ten minutes and costs around ten yuan. I found using Didi (ride-hailing app) to be very convenient.
2. **Ambiance**: The hotel environment is also quite nice, with its own small garden and a pool. There's also a children's play area on the ground floor, most of which is free. However, we didn't get to use any of it as we were too pressed for time and had too much sightseeing to do. Our room was generally neat and clean. Although the decor is a bit older, it still felt quite tasteful. We received complimentary fruit and drinks, which were a nice touch. My package included several other amenities like photography and sauna access, but we didn't use them either.
3. **Dining**: The hotel has its own restaurant, so you can dine there or order takeout. Do note that there's a service charge at the restaurant. Breakfast was pretty standard; I was hoping for some seafood options, given it's a coastal city, but there weren't any.
4. **Service**: The soundproofing in the rooms might not be the best, possibly due to the age of the building. Under normal circumstances, it would probably be fine. However, we had the misfortune of having a crying child next door who would wail for 30 minutes to an hour at 5:30 AM and 10:30 PM. We eventually complained to the front desk, and after the manager intervened, it quieted down. So, sometimes, travel experiences also depend on luck.
5. **Feedback**: On our way back, we received a follow-up call from the hotel. Overall, we were quite satisfied. The service, cleanliness, and responsiveness were all good. I hope to visit again during the off-season, when I anticipate better room availability, as it seemed almost fully booked this time. Also, the sea-view rooms are lovely, but unfortunately, it was foggy during our stay, so we didn't get to enjoy much of the view – quite a shame!FromBRL 873

This hotel, in my opinion, offers a thousand-dollar service experience for a hundred-dollar price range. Sam, the service manager, was excellent. I was originally booked for an Executive King Room, and this was the first time I've ever experienced such a seamless room upgrade. Most five-star or five-diamond hotels in Qingdao would rather leave a room empty or charge an extra 100 RMB than upgrade you. I stayed for three consecutive nights in an Executive Suite, directly facing the Laoshan District No. 2 Experimental Primary School. You can see students playing during the day, but with the windows closed, you barely hear any noise. The hotel is 12 years old now, since 2014, and aside from the bathtub faucet and shower diverter being a bit tricky to operate, it has almost no flaws. The air conditioning wasn't cold enough for me, given I'm sensitive to heat, but when I mentioned it to the front desk, they offered a fan. This way, you don't need to open the window, which is good because there's ongoing construction on the left side, so opening the window would be noisy and affect sleep. The only potential downside for most people might be that it's a bit far from the subway, nearly a kilometer's walk.FromBRL 370

The Mandarin Hotel is located on Starlight Island in the West Coast New Area, surrounded by the sea and boasting stunning island scenery. As soon as you arrive, you can feel a sense of tranquility, far from the hustle and bustle of the city. The sea breeze creates a wonderful vacation vibe. However, there was an entertainment event on the island that day, so it was incredibly crowded.
Stepping into the hotel lobby, the elegant and grand design perfectly blends with marine elements. The glass dome and crystal chandeliers complement each other beautifully. What impressed me most was the self-playing piano in the lobby; its melodious tunes flowed under the dome, adding an artistic touch to the entire space and instantly washing away any travel fatigue.
My business twin room was spacious, clean, and tidy. The floor-to-ceiling windows offered breathtaking panoramic sea views. The hotel's overall environment is beautiful, clearly built with great care, showcasing a Southeast Asian style, much like the Raffles I stayed at in Sanya. However, the facility maintenance, service, and hygiene are far inferior. Let me start with the positives: the breakfast was good. Although the variety wasn't huge, the freshly made wontons and steamed dim sum were delicious, especially the fresh pork mini wontons 👍. Some staff members had excellent attitudes, proactively escorting elderly guests back to their rooms, which deserves praise.
Now for the unacceptable drawbacks:
1. I booked a Deluxe Twin Room and was upgraded to an Executive Twin Room upon check-in. They didn't proactively mention that the minibar was chargeable. At checkout, I was charged 20 yuan for a Sprite and a packet of snacks. I truly don't understand this. I've stayed in many hotels, both luxury and budget, and executive rooms usually come with at least one complimentary minibar round. Here, it's not only not complimentary, but they also don't inform you beforehand, and there's no clear pricing in the room. It's really frustrating 😓.
2. We booked a twin room, and one of the bedsheets was torn. When we went to the restaurant for dinner, the tablecloth was also torn. My mom commented that the hotel was truly 'economical.'
3. On the first night, I called to request an extra duvet. They replied that they only had double duvets, not single ones. I mentioned I was staying for three nights and asked if they could change it if a single one became available. On the third day, hotel staff were chatting, saying the hotel had very few guests, only around 60 people. I called customer service again to ask for a single duvet, and they still said they didn't have one. I was speechless 😓.
Overall, the environment is exceptionally good, but the internal management is underwhelming, and the facilities and service are severely lacking. If they continue to operate this way, it truly does a disservice to the hotel's prime location and beautiful scenery.FromBRL 1,260

Location: Close to the Olympic Sailing Center, Lover's Dam, and May Fourth Square, it's convenient for watching shows at the Sea Theater, all within walking distance. The dazzling night view is visible right from downstairs. It's also relatively quiet, and about a 25-30 minute drive to Qingdao Station if there's no traffic.
Facilities: The room is spacious enough for a family of 3-4, and the view outside the window is great – what you see is what you get.
Cleanliness: Pretty good. I stayed for 4 days, and the room was cleaned and tidied daily according to my requests, which was comfortable.
Service: Before check-in, a concierge contacted me on WeChat, providing proactive and enthusiastic service. They even offered fresh fruit upon arrival.
Breakfast: Available from 7:00-10:00. The taste was decent, mostly Chinese food, but the selection was limited and there was no coffee. The restaurant environment was average, a bit dim and dated.
You don't need a key card to enter the elevator, and delivery drivers can come upstairs, which has its pros and cons. The hotel's overall decor feels a bit old-fashioned and dim, showing its age.
Overall, it's still a good option, especially suitable for family travel.FromBRL 393

This hotel must be given a five-star rating! The location is excellent, and it is super convenient to eat. There is a restaurant inside the hotel.
Facilities: The hotel facilities are very complete, the room is fully equipped with smart devices, the sofas in the public area are soft, and the warm lighting makes it very comfortable to rest and chat.
Hygiene: The hygiene is impeccable, the room is spotlessly clean, the sheets and quilts are white and odorless, and there are no water stains and stains in the bathroom. The corridors, elevators and other public areas are kept clean at all times, and the trash cans are cleaned in time, so there is no need to worry about hygiene issues.
Environment: The environment is quite pleasant, the overall decoration style is simple and warm, the lobby is spacious and bright, and the green plants are just right. The sound insulation of the room is excellent, and it is especially quiet when resting. There is a restaurant inside the hotel, which is very convenient.
Service: The service is first-class, from the warm reception at the front desk to every link. The room service responds quickly and can be solved quickly if there is a need. The restaurant waiter is friendly and will patiently recommend dishes. The whole check-in process is very good.FromBRL 333

Huangdao Golden Beach Holiday Resort Qingdao|23.24km from city center
I have stayed at Howard Johnson Hotel many times. The aroma in the lobby is refreshing and green. The room was upgraded for free. The facilities are complete, there are gyms and various specialty restaurants, etc. Funing asked about the stay experience when checking out and gave a gift. It is worth recommending 👍FromBRL 400

A perfect score! The experience from check-in to check-out was flawless. As a student attending the conference, the most important factors were transportation, internet speed, and a comfortable resting environment, all of which were impeccable. The hotel facilities are comprehensive, with a gym and self-service laundry room. The breakfast featured local specialties and was delicious. Zhang Xiao at the front desk provided excellent service, helping to print documents, reminding us to eat breakfast early, and offering smiling service throughout. The hotel offers excellent value for money, and I've already recommended it to my fellow conference attendees!FromBRL 336

The hotel is very good and clean, and it is convenient to go out. There is a subway station at the door. There is a small shop downstairs. It is far from the scenic spot, and the commute takes more than an hour. You can consider it. The hotel front desk also gave a small gift and breakfast, which is very good!FromBRL 164

Huangdao Golden Beach Holiday Resort Qingdao|25.04km from city center
The room is large and the sanitation is fine.
The projector can be used, but there is a problem with the picture of the projection center when used, as shown in the picture. When I checked in, there were two elevators in this building that could not be used, and it was troublesome to go up and down the stairs.Disclaimer: This article has been provided by an individual contributor or third party platform.
