What is the Bali Arrival Card?
The Bali Arrival Card is Indonesia's unified digital entry declaration system, officially called All Indonesia. Launched in September 2025 at Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) and rolled out nationwide by October 2025, it replaces the old paper arrival card and merges immigration, customs, and health quarantine declarations into a single online form.
Once submitted, the system generates a personal QR code that immigration and customs officers will scan when you exit the airport. It is not a visa — you still need a valid visa or visa-exempt status to enter Indonesia. The arrival card is an additional entry requirement for all foreign visitors.

Do You Need the Bali Arrival Card Online?
Yes, almost all international visitors must complete it. It is mandatory for foreign nationals entering Bali / Indonesia by air.
Who is exempt?
- Indonesian citizens (they use a separate domestic form)
- Transit passengers staying airside and not passing through immigration
- Crew members of airlines or vessels on duty
- Holders of Indonesian residence permits (KITAS / KITAP) may use a different pathway, but it is still recommended to check the latest guidance
If you are entering Indonesia as a tourist, business visitor, or short-term traveler — regardless of whether you have an e-Visa, VOA, or visa-free status — you need to fill out the arrival card.
Is Bali Entry Fully Digital?
Entry to Bali is mostly but not fully digital. Here is what is digital and what is not:
Fully digital
- Arrival card / customs / health declaration — completed online via All Indonesia platform, no paper form needed
- e-VOA / electronic visa — applied and paid online before departure, approved via email
Partially digital / in-person required
- Passport control — even with an e-Visa, you must present your physical passport at immigration
- Self-service gates (auto-gates) — available for e-Visa holders aged 6 and above; children under 6 must use manual counters
- VOA (Visa on Arrival) — still processed at dedicated counters on arrival, with payment in cash (USD recommended)
- Random document checks — officers may still ask to see your return ticket, hotel booking, or proof of funds in person
In short: you can pre-fill everything online to speed things up, but you will still need to go through physical immigration checks at the airport.
Bali Entry Requirements
Before you travel to Bali, make sure you have:
- Passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry, with at least one blank page
- Valid visa or visa exemption — e-VOA, VOA on arrival, or applicable visa-free entry depending on your nationality
- Completed All Indonesia arrival card with QR code saved
- Return or onward ticket — may be checked at check-in or by immigration
- Proof of accommodation — hotel booking confirmation with full address
- Proof of sufficient funds — may be requested randomly
- Travel insurance — recommended, not always checked but strongly advised
When to Fill in the Bali Arrival Card
You can submit the arrival card no earlier than 3 days before your scheduled arrival date in Indonesia. You can also fill it on the day of arrival.
Our recommendation: fill it 1–2 days before departure. This gives you enough time to fix any errors, ensure payment works if you also apply for a visa through the same portal, and avoid last-minute internet issues on the plane or at the airport.
If you forget or cannot complete it online, you can fill it on arrival using your phone by scanning QR codes posted around the airport — but expect longer queues and potentially slower Wi-Fi.
How to Fill in the Bali Arrival Card Online (Step by Step)
Step 1: Go to the official portal
Open allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id in your browser (no app download required, though an "All Indonesia" app is also available). Switch the language to English using the menu at the top right. Select Foreign Visitor.
Step 2: Personal information
Fill in your details exactly as they appear in your passport:
- Full name (as written in passport)
- Passport number
- Nationality
- Date of birth (DD/MM/YYYY format)
- Passport expiry date (DD/MM/YYYY format)
- Gender
If you are traveling with family, you can add additional passengers under one submission and share one QR code — everyone must enter together.
Step 3: Travel details
- Flight number of your last connecting flight arriving in Indonesia
- Date of arrival
- Date of departure
- Whether you hold an Indonesian residence permit (select No for tourist VOA; select Yes if you already have an e-Visa)
Step 4: Transport and accommodation
- Mode of transport: Air
- Purpose of visit: Tourism (or business, etc.)
- Flight type: Commercial
- Port of entry: Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) for Bali
- Address in Indonesia: enter your hotel's full address from your booking confirmation
Step 5: Health and customs declarations
- Health quarantine declaration: answer No if you have no fever, cough, or symptoms
- Prohibited goods declaration: answer No if you are not carrying drugs, weapons, or restricted items
- Read and tick the declaration checkbox
Step 6: Submit and save the QR code
Review everything carefully, then submit. The system will immediately generate your unique QR code. Take a screenshot and save it to your phone. You can also send it to your email. You will need to show it at the airport.
Pro tip: if you have not yet purchased your visa, you can apply for an e-VOA directly through the same All Indonesia portal after completing the arrival card. Many travelers report higher payment success rates via this path compared to the standalone visa website.
How to Enter Bali Upon Arrival (Step by Step at DPS Airport)
1. Follow International Arrivals signs
After deplaning, follow the International Arrivals signs. Walk along the corridor — you will pass through walkways and possibly escalators. Just follow the crowd and the green directional signs.
2. Choose your immigration lane
- If you have an e-Visa / e-VOA: head to the self-service auto-gates or e-Visa counter. Auto-gates are available for travelers aged 6 and above with a biometric passport. Simply scan your passport photo page and look at the camera for facial recognition.
- If you need VOA on arrival: go to the Visa on Arrival counter first, pay the fee (USD cash recommended), get your visa sticker, then proceed to immigration.
- Children under 6: must use the manual / staffed counter even with e-Visa.
3. Immigration check
Hand over your passport. The officer will verify your visa, arrival card QR code, and may ask for your return ticket or hotel booking. They will stamp your passport.
4. Baggage claim
After immigration, take the escalator or lift down to the baggage hall. Check the screens for your flight number and corresponding carousel.
5. Customs and exit scan
Before exiting the restricted area, an officer will scan your All Indonesia arrival card QR code. Your bags may go through an X-ray scanner.
6. Exit the arrivals hall
Once cleared, you will enter the public arrivals area where you will find SIM card counters, ATMs, money changers, taxi counters, and ride-hail pick-up points.

An excellent hotel with a wonderful atmosphere! My impressions of the service, rooms, and grounds were all very positive. The grounds are large, well-maintained, and secure. The highlight was definitely the abundance of squirrels running everywhere, even jumping onto our balcony! You can also feed them at the restaurant during breakfast. The hotel also has great, spacious pools.
The staff are very friendly and responsive. Upon check-in, the reception immediately provided a schedule of activities (unfortunately, we couldn't participate this time, but the idea itself is great). The rooms are clean, housekeeping is thorough, and all necessities are restocked promptly. There's a wonderful, pleasant aroma in the lobby area. I was also pleased to find a billiards table for entertainment.
Breakfasts were varied, with a great selection of dishes from different cuisines worldwide. A huge plus is having a private beach. A shuttle bus runs every hour to and from the beach, and there are always free spots available. A minor drawback: for the shopping transfer, one bus picks up guests from three hotels at once, which sometimes means there simply aren't enough seats inside.

This is a premium hotel far outside of Ubud center. Be aware you are about 30 minutes from Ubud if you stay here and there really isn't much to do in the immediate area besides stare at the jungle. Staff was outstanding here with frequent greetings by name and remembering you like a Ritz Carlton.
Because I enjoy regular outings I actually found the location quite inconvenient as an hour a day would have to be devoted just to getting to and from Ubud.
The room I got was enormous and included a dining room, sitting room, bedroom, large bathroom. The in room amenities were great including a free restocking mini bar with snacks (no alcohol) and a large smart TV. The bed was huge, soft, and comfortable.
The bathtub was a downside as it was quite small by western standards (not as small as a japanese tub though). I'm not a very big individual at 173cm and I felt it was too narrow and not long enough. Perhaps suitable for petite individuals only. Be aware of that if like me and many Americans you prefer baths over showers.
The property is very large and you will likely want to regularly use the phone to request the on site golf cart shuttles to get around it as otherwise you will spend much of your time walking uphill from the rooms to the amenities near the entrance like the restaurant and pool.FromUS$86

We chose this hotel for the last two nights of our Bali trip because it offered excellent value compared to many other resorts in Bali and even other InterContinental properties. The resort itself is huge, with a wide variety of facilities including separate adult and family pools, an indoor gym, a calisthenics gym, beautiful ponds, direct beach access, and very friendly staff. On paper, it seemed like a fantastic choice.
Unfortunately, our stay turned out to be extremely disappointing.
We stayed in room number 4127. On our first night, both of us woke up covered in insect bites despite sleeping tucked under the blankets. Around midnight, we had to spray both the bed and ourselves with insect repellent just to get through the night. The following morning, we reported the issue and requested a room change because we were concerned there might be insects in the mattress. Instead, we were only offered fresh bed sheets and a general cleaning of the room.
Sadly, the exact same thing happened again on the second night. We woke up with even more bites and no longer felt safe sleeping in the bed. We strongly suspected there were bugs hiding in the mattress. We ended up leaving the room in the middle of the night and spent the rest of the night in the hotel lobby because we were too afraid to return to bed.
What disappointed us the most was how the situation was handled. We showed the staff numerous photos documenting the bites over both nights, yet the only compensation offered was to waive a small bill (about RMB 55) for an ice cream and a coffee. Considering we lost two nights of sleep, experienced significant discomfort, and had to spend an entire night in the lobby, this response felt inadequate and did not reflect the level of service we expected.
In addition, the hotel itself feels quite dated. Although it has its charm, many areas appear to have aged significantly. The towels were noticeably worn, wooden fixtures were chipped, and the overall condition suggested the property is overdue for a major renovation.
We genuinely wanted to enjoy our stay because the resort has so much potential. The grounds are beautiful, the facilities are plentiful, and the staff we interacted with were polite and friendly. However, the insect issue and the hotel’s response overshadowed everything else. We hope management takes this feedback seriously and thoroughly investigates the mattresses and rooms so future guests do not have the same experience.FromUS$174

There are 2 pools nearby, one of which is 2m deep. Noisy groups tend to gather at the poolside bar, which dampens the relaxing atmosphere. It's about a 5-minute walk to the beach.

The room was too humid, probably due to the air conditioning, making both the floor and bedding damp. I had to ask for towels to lay on the floor and a new comforter. The soundproofing isn't great, but it was fine for an overnight stay. The breakfast was good, with plenty of eggs. It's a 10-minute drive from the airport and they offer a shuttle service. There's a small supermarket, massage, and currency exchange right next to the hotel, which is much better than the airport's, so that was convenient.
There's a pool, a large lawn, and it's close to the beach, though the beach itself was a bit dirty and messy. You can watch planes land from the beach.
I booked an airport transfer for the next morning and confirmed it twice, being told it was all set. However, when I went down early to wait for the car, it wasn't there. Luckily, I went down early enough that the front desk was able to call a temporary ride.FromUS$46

For my second hotel in Bali, I chose the Element by Westin Ubud. Given that Bali is famous for its rainforests in addition to its beaches, and Ubud is the heart of terraced rice paddies, rainforests, and traditional architecture, I opted for a hotel there. However, I won't be staying at this property again.
**Service:**
The staff are mostly young and energetic, with good attitudes. However, my overall experience was just mediocre, mainly due to two issues:
1. During check-in, they recommended a Chinese New Year's Eve dinner. I paid by topping up an account, but then they told me they had no change. It took several phone calls the night before departure to finally get my change back.
2. The Chinese dinner itself was also a letdown. The food selection was limited and even less extensive than the breakfast. Plus, drinks had to be purchased separately. For a buffet at this price point, it was quite unacceptable.
**Location:**
The hotel is quite secluded, about a 40-minute walk from the heart of Ubud. Taking a taxi takes roughly the same amount of time due to heavy traffic. The surroundings are very isolated, so I wouldn't recommend it.
It's a 20-minute drive to the rice terraces.
**Facilities:**
1. I initially booked a pool access room based on pictures, expecting it to be right outside my door. However, upon arrival, I discovered a significant gap: the room was on the same floor as the pool, but I still had to walk a fair distance to reach it. The photos were misleading.
2. The bathroom lacked body lotion and a weighing scale. For a five-star hotel, this felt a bit underwhelming and not quite up to par.

• Location: Close to the airport and the ocean. Easy access to shops, currency exchange booths, cafes, street food vendors, and massage parlors.
• Room: Spacious with all the essentials: a safe, slippers, toothbrushes and toothpaste, shower gel, and shampoo. The view was of a soccer field and local houses, but it was noisy at night even with the windows closed; we could hear motorbikes racing on the road. The lack of a balcony wasn't an issue; we dried our clothes in the room.
At one point, the air conditioning stopped working, but we reported it to reception, and they fixed it quickly.
The shower drained poorly, likely due to a lack of slope towards the drain.
• Breakfast: Varied, with sliced cheese and cold cuts, a vegetable and salad station, an omelet station, several types of fruit, fried fish, chicken in various sauces, rice, pasta, a self-serve soup station, but the pastries were cold 😓.
I didn't like that smoking was allowed at the tables.
• Pool: Overlooking Jimbaran Bay. Absolutely beautiful. I wanted to explore every corner. The pool looked clean, and all the tiles were intact. There was a bar nearby where you could order drinks and food at reasonable prices.
• Ocean: A straight 5-minute walk down a quiet street. The beach is being cleaned this year. The most beautiful sunsets are only here 😍. The hotel doesn't have its own sun loungers and umbrellas, but you can rent them on the beach without any problems.
Overall, the hotel offers excellent value for money. The cost is affordable for such a great vacation.FromUS$44

Been here for 3 nights for our honeymoon. the staffs were incredibly nice. we are Bali people but we did not get or feel any discrimination at all, they treat us the same as foreigners. they have natural hot spring water pool, it was hot honestly, so we did not go very often. but they have ocean view pool and garden view pool which much cooler. Check in was smooth. Staffs were friendly.
Hotel is huge, they have 3 blocks. I got the far end of the block which was a little bit away from the reception and the restaurants and the open space for smoking.
In 2 circumstances, i walked up to the room and the door card could not work. This happened in 2 different nights. I had to walk down and got it reset, but the staffs didnt bother to apologise for this. The first time it happened I was okay, but the second time it happened, I got pissed off, because it was a long walk from the room to the reception.
If you order food delivery, it will be a long walk to take your food at the reception.
If you got the rooms at the reception level, I'm sure it will be a great experience like the first time I was there in the Junior Suite, but this time it was not as pleasant.
Thumbs up though for the housekeeping, as the found out I had many shirts lying on the sofa, they brought a small clothes rack and hung my shirts.FromUS$21

The staff service is very friendly and good here! Very recommend to stay at this hotel as their location is very convenient! Opposite has many many marts and pharmacies, easy to walk and buy things you need! They also have provide laundry service which can get your clothes in 24 hours and charge about 30k for 1kg. The hotel grounds are expansive and the lobby is quite grand, with a nice aesthetic. However, the rooms and elevators are really showing their age. The lettering on light switches is completely worn off, and you can barely read the labels on the shower gel bottles – I don't know why the hotel hasn't replaced them yet. While the room was spacious, it felt too old for the price. On the positive side, there's an indoor kids' play area and a small water slide, which the children absolutely loved. There aren't any convenience stores nearby, which was a bit inconvenient. Overall, a one or two-day stay is more than enough here.FromUS$624

This hotel is a very good choice 👍🏼 I am a little picky, but here’s my review:
Pros:
✅ No damp smell, well ventilated ( I was worried about this)
✅ No insects in the room. There might be some geckos 🦎 (which is normal and expected) but I didn’t see any.
✅ Very clean in general
✅ Comfortable bed
✅ The service is amazing
✅ The staff is very friendly and helpful
✅ The breakfast is very good, there are plenty of choices.
✅ Their restaurant is also very good, in case you don’t want to go out of the resort.
✅ The vibe at the beach is nice and if you like water sports it is also good.
✅ The pool is huge and very nice
✅ Reasonable price (but it will depend on the season and demand)
Cons:
😑 Sound proof can be better, one can hear everyone from the pool (the sound enters from the main door)
😑 The beach is not the best for swimming, and is a bit dirty in general (not the hotel’s fault)
😑 The gym can be better as there are only 3 machines (spinning, treadmill and elliptical) the dumbbells are fine
✅😄 Overall, recommended! I was happy with my stay at this hotel!

We love Mövenpick Hotels, even though we don’t have kids yet. If you’re looking for a family-friendly retreat with plenty of fun activities for children and an amazing pool experience, this is the perfect hotel. The breakfast was delicious, and the hotel provides a complimentary buggy to the beach every hour. Alternatively, it’s only a 5–10 minute walk.
Our only disappointment was the Chocolate Hour, which is a signature experience at Mövenpick Hotels. Unfortunately, it was the least impressive Chocolate Hour we’ve experienced compared to other Mövenpick properties.

We booked a king room with lagoon access and was upgraded to a suite (Thank you Andaz, was a lovely surprise). We had a beautiful, clean and spacious room with a massive patio that backed onto a lagoon connected to the main pool with a sea view. It felt like paradise. There were toads croaking after the rain. We saw cockatoos and many other kinds of bird. Bird sang every morning. We even a monitor lizard swimming in the spa’s lily pond. This place is bathed in nature. Service was friendly and warm from top notch staff. The turndown service every evening was a special touch, and the grounds were immaculately kept! There were almost always staff working away to keep the grounds pristine and lush. We really like the hotel’s layout where it seems (to us) that all rooms provide a good level of privacy and some kind of a view, be it lush beautiful gardens, pool or the beach. Lastly, the à la carte unlimited breakfast was what brought us here (from the flip flop traveller, iykyk) and it did not disappoint. What an amazing treat! Andaz Bali is truly a gem.FromUS$302

Pros: The pools are big enough for a relaxed and spacious swim. There's an ice cream cafe, and the place is clean. The staff are friendly, and the room has all the essentials: tea, coffee, and water replenished daily.
Cons: Breakfasts are mostly Asian, and they often try to pass off old food as fresh, especially the potatoes and cherry tomatoes. Very few fruits; only watermelon and papaya for the whole week. Absolutely no variety. A huge downside is the noise! If your room is near the elevator, expect constant banging and humming. You can also clearly hear conversations and other noises from the neighboring room.

Mandapa is nestled in the Ubud forest, surrounded by rainforest and built into the mountainside. It's a secluded sanctuary, perfect for cleansing the soul and allowing me to slowly and peacefully savor every day of my vacation.
I was particularly impressed with their butler service. During my three-day, two-night stay, everything was meticulously planned for me, from the transfer service to and from the hotel in Jimbaran Bay, to my river adventure, spa appointments, scheduled photography session, and dinner reservations. My butler orchestrated everything, acting like a personal secretary.
Furthermore, most of the hotel's restaurants are outdoors, allowing guests to dine amidst the forest. Surprisingly, the environmental hygiene and insect control were excellent, which I truly appreciated. The villa's cleanliness was also ideal; I didn't spot a single spiderweb, ant, small spider, or any other insect or dust mite within the 430-square-meter villa. The hygiene was superb.
The overall ambiance of the hotel felt incredibly serene and relaxing, making it perfectly suited for couples to enjoy a slow-paced, leisurely trip.
Regarding the food, I tried breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner at three of their restaurants. The dining atmosphere and food quality were consistently excellent.
The spa lived up to the standards of a 6-star hotel!
Given its Michelin 3-star status, the hotel truly meets that benchmark.
One minor thing to note is that during dinner at one of their Indonesian restaurants, there's a traditional Indonesian dance performance where performers wear a deity mask. This might make some guests, especially those with young children, feel uncomfortable or even frightened. This is something to be aware of.FromUS$1,555
