What is the Bali Arrival Card?
The Bali Arrival Card is Indonesia's unified digital entry declaration system, officially called All Indonesia. Launched in September 2025 at Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) and rolled out nationwide by October 2025, it replaces the old paper arrival card and merges immigration, customs, and health quarantine declarations into a single online form.
Once submitted, the system generates a personal QR code that immigration and customs officers will scan when you exit the airport. It is not a visa — you still need a valid visa or visa-exempt status to enter Indonesia. The arrival card is an additional entry requirement for all foreign visitors.

Do You Need the Bali Arrival Card Online?
Yes, almost all international visitors must complete it. It is mandatory for foreign nationals entering Bali / Indonesia by air.
Who is exempt?
- Indonesian citizens (they use a separate domestic form)
- Transit passengers staying airside and not passing through immigration
- Crew members of airlines or vessels on duty
- Holders of Indonesian residence permits (KITAS / KITAP) may use a different pathway, but it is still recommended to check the latest guidance
If you are entering Indonesia as a tourist, business visitor, or short-term traveler — regardless of whether you have an e-Visa, VOA, or visa-free status — you need to fill out the arrival card.
Is Bali Entry Fully Digital?
Entry to Bali is mostly but not fully digital. Here is what is digital and what is not:
Fully digital
- Arrival card / customs / health declaration — completed online via All Indonesia platform, no paper form needed
- e-VOA / electronic visa — applied and paid online before departure, approved via email
Partially digital / in-person required
- Passport control — even with an e-Visa, you must present your physical passport at immigration
- Self-service gates (auto-gates) — available for e-Visa holders aged 6 and above; children under 6 must use manual counters
- VOA (Visa on Arrival) — still processed at dedicated counters on arrival, with payment in cash (USD recommended)
- Random document checks — officers may still ask to see your return ticket, hotel booking, or proof of funds in person
In short: you can pre-fill everything online to speed things up, but you will still need to go through physical immigration checks at the airport.
Bali Entry Requirements
Before you travel to Bali, make sure you have:
- Passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry, with at least one blank page
- Valid visa or visa exemption — e-VOA, VOA on arrival, or applicable visa-free entry depending on your nationality
- Completed All Indonesia arrival card with QR code saved
- Return or onward ticket — may be checked at check-in or by immigration
- Proof of accommodation — hotel booking confirmation with full address
- Proof of sufficient funds — may be requested randomly
- Travel insurance — recommended, not always checked but strongly advised
When to Fill in the Bali Arrival Card
You can submit the arrival card no earlier than 3 days before your scheduled arrival date in Indonesia. You can also fill it on the day of arrival.
Our recommendation: fill it 1–2 days before departure. This gives you enough time to fix any errors, ensure payment works if you also apply for a visa through the same portal, and avoid last-minute internet issues on the plane or at the airport.
If you forget or cannot complete it online, you can fill it on arrival using your phone by scanning QR codes posted around the airport — but expect longer queues and potentially slower Wi-Fi.
How to Fill in the Bali Arrival Card Online (Step by Step)
Step 1: Go to the official portal
Open allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id in your browser (no app download required, though an "All Indonesia" app is also available). Switch the language to English using the menu at the top right. Select Foreign Visitor.
Step 2: Personal information
Fill in your details exactly as they appear in your passport:
- Full name (as written in passport)
- Passport number
- Nationality
- Date of birth (DD/MM/YYYY format)
- Passport expiry date (DD/MM/YYYY format)
- Gender
If you are traveling with family, you can add additional passengers under one submission and share one QR code — everyone must enter together.
Step 3: Travel details
- Flight number of your last connecting flight arriving in Indonesia
- Date of arrival
- Date of departure
- Whether you hold an Indonesian residence permit (select No for tourist VOA; select Yes if you already have an e-Visa)
Step 4: Transport and accommodation
- Mode of transport: Air
- Purpose of visit: Tourism (or business, etc.)
- Flight type: Commercial
- Port of entry: Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) for Bali
- Address in Indonesia: enter your hotel's full address from your booking confirmation
Step 5: Health and customs declarations
- Health quarantine declaration: answer No if you have no fever, cough, or symptoms
- Prohibited goods declaration: answer No if you are not carrying drugs, weapons, or restricted items
- Read and tick the declaration checkbox
Step 6: Submit and save the QR code
Review everything carefully, then submit. The system will immediately generate your unique QR code. Take a screenshot and save it to your phone. You can also send it to your email. You will need to show it at the airport.
Pro tip: if you have not yet purchased your visa, you can apply for an e-VOA directly through the same All Indonesia portal after completing the arrival card. Many travelers report higher payment success rates via this path compared to the standalone visa website.
How to Enter Bali Upon Arrival (Step by Step at DPS Airport)
1. Follow International Arrivals signs
After deplaning, follow the International Arrivals signs. Walk along the corridor — you will pass through walkways and possibly escalators. Just follow the crowd and the green directional signs.
2. Choose your immigration lane
- If you have an e-Visa / e-VOA: head to the self-service auto-gates or e-Visa counter. Auto-gates are available for travelers aged 6 and above with a biometric passport. Simply scan your passport photo page and look at the camera for facial recognition.
- If you need VOA on arrival: go to the Visa on Arrival counter first, pay the fee (USD cash recommended), get your visa sticker, then proceed to immigration.
- Children under 6: must use the manual / staffed counter even with e-Visa.
3. Immigration check
Hand over your passport. The officer will verify your visa, arrival card QR code, and may ask for your return ticket or hotel booking. They will stamp your passport.
4. Baggage claim
After immigration, take the escalator or lift down to the baggage hall. Check the screens for your flight number and corresponding carousel.
5. Customs and exit scan
Before exiting the restricted area, an officer will scan your All Indonesia arrival card QR code. Your bags may go through an X-ray scanner.
6. Exit the arrivals hall
Once cleared, you will enter the public arrivals area where you will find SIM card counters, ATMs, money changers, taxi counters, and ride-hail pick-up points.

This hotel is part of a larger resort complex. You can even feed the squirrels at breakfast! The swimming pool is huge and they offer a kids' club, which was really great.
However, I did find a hair on the bedding when I checked in. After I contacted them, they promptly changed all the linens for me. Overall, it offers good value for money, but it's really best for just lounging at the hotel or on the beach. This is a premium hotel far outside of Ubud center. Be aware you are about 30 minutes from Ubud if you stay here and there really isn't much to do in the immediate area besides stare at the jungle. Staff was outstanding here with frequent greetings by name and remembering you like a Ritz Carlton.
Because I enjoy regular outings I actually found the location quite inconvenient as an hour a day would have to be devoted just to getting to and from Ubud.
The room I got was enormous and included a dining room, sitting room, bedroom, large bathroom. The in room amenities were great including a free restocking mini bar with snacks (no alcohol) and a large smart TV. The bed was huge, soft, and comfortable.
The bathtub was a downside as it was quite small by western standards (not as small as a japanese tub though). I'm not a very big individual at 173cm and I felt it was too narrow and not long enough. Perhaps suitable for petite individuals only. Be aware of that if like me and many Americans you prefer baths over showers.
The property is very large and you will likely want to regularly use the phone to request the on site golf cart shuttles to get around it as otherwise you will spend much of your time walking uphill from the rooms to the amenities near the entrance like the restaurant and pool.FromUS$91

This was our first time visiting Bali, and we chose Ubud as our first stop. Honestly, we didn’t expect too much… until we arrived at Alaya. 🤍
Alaya truly exceeded all our expectations in every way possible.
First of all, we are so grateful to be upgraded from Alaya Resort to the newly opened Alaya Suites (only opened for 3 months!). It was such an unexpected surprise and honestly one of the experiences that made us fall in love with Ubud.
Our original booking did not include breakfast, and we planned to add it on the spot. But with the upgrade, breakfast was included for us as well. We kept wondering if there would be any hidden charges or extra payment later 😂 but NO - Alaya sincerely invited us to experience their new suites, and we really appreciated that kindness.
The breakfast was amazing too! It’s not buffet style, but “eat all you can” with freshly made dishes upon order, which honestly made the food taste even better. Everything was delicious, and btw… the latte was really good ☕️
Another thing we truly loved was the staff. Everyone served with such genuine care and kindness. Their attitude and hospitality made us feel so comfortable and welcomed throughout our stay. Thank you so much to every staff member who helped us during our stay - you guys were amazing 🤍
The room looked exactly like the photos online (search Alaya Suite) - super clean, spacious, comfortable, with huge mirrors and such a relaxing atmosphere.
And the location? PERFECT. Ubud traffic can get quite busy, so staying here and being able to walk almost everywhere made everything so much easier.
Of course, nothing is 100% perfect, so just a small note:
- The soundproofing could be better as we could hear our neighboring room talking and laughing late at night.
- The gym facilities are a little limited.
But honestly, we really loved our stay here, and this will definitely be the first hotel we revisit when we come back to Ubud again soon 🤍

Sense hotel's location was very quite easy to go anywhere. Its located nearby local supermarket, seminyak beach, Babi guling Pak Malen, Babi guling Pak Genyol, Popella gellato ice cream, Krishna, etc. The room was very clean, Aircon worked very well. The room got hot water for shower inside bathroom, but they don't have any hairdryer, and fridge inside. The wifi wasn't worked at all, and Its a bit hard to find my phone's signal, when I slept inside the room. They said they will fixed it, but its still not fixed. We like the hotel and we had pleasant stay. The pool and the room were very good. The door to the balcony couldn’t close but after contacting reception , they sent staff come to fixit straight away.
The night we stay was Tuesday. The hotel had buffet dinner with dance. We heard the music from the pool and went there for dinner. They said that if will be until 10PM. But when we agreed to come, buffet almost gone, I asked few time why no more food? They asked what I want they will make. Thats not the way buffet supposes to be.
And the music and dance often break very long. Form when I joined until I nearly full, no music or dance. I asked the man who stayed outside to invite customers in: what’s giọng on?
He went to ask them to play music. But the dancers only started after 10 minutes. They danced 10 minutes and break again.
I was very upset. That night was my last night in Bali.
The next morning breakfast buffet was much nicer.
I hope the hotel can manage the dance better to let customers enjoy. And FYI, that night music and dance finished at 8:30PM. Not 10PM like they told me. I posted some photos with full of food and some empty for your reference . thanFromUS$43

Everything about this hotel was exceptional, especially considering the price range compared to other hotels in the area. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed with their kindness, professionalism, and warm smiles. The service was outstanding in every detail.
The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and very well maintained. Housekeeping was excellent, and the whole hotel had a clean, relaxing atmosphere. The beds were extremely comfortable and we had such peaceful sleep every night.

The room was too humid, probably due to the air conditioning, making both the floor and bedding damp. I had to ask for towels to lay on the floor and a new comforter. The soundproofing isn't great, but it was fine for an overnight stay. The breakfast was good, with plenty of eggs. It's a 10-minute drive from the airport and they offer a shuttle service. There's a small supermarket, massage, and currency exchange right next to the hotel, which is much better than the airport's, so that was convenient.
There's a pool, a large lawn, and it's close to the beach, though the beach itself was a bit dirty and messy. You can watch planes land from the beach.
I booked an airport transfer for the next morning and confirmed it twice, being told it was all set. However, when I went down early to wait for the car, it wasn't there. Luckily, I went down early enough that the front desk was able to call a temporary ride.FromUS$42

For my second hotel in Bali, I chose the Element by Westin Ubud. Given that Bali is famous for its rainforests in addition to its beaches, and Ubud is the heart of terraced rice paddies, rainforests, and traditional architecture, I opted for a hotel there. However, I won't be staying at this property again.
**Service:**
The staff are mostly young and energetic, with good attitudes. However, my overall experience was just mediocre, mainly due to two issues:
1. During check-in, they recommended a Chinese New Year's Eve dinner. I paid by topping up an account, but then they told me they had no change. It took several phone calls the night before departure to finally get my change back.
2. The Chinese dinner itself was also a letdown. The food selection was limited and even less extensive than the breakfast. Plus, drinks had to be purchased separately. For a buffet at this price point, it was quite unacceptable.
**Location:**
The hotel is quite secluded, about a 40-minute walk from the heart of Ubud. Taking a taxi takes roughly the same amount of time due to heavy traffic. The surroundings are very isolated, so I wouldn't recommend it.
It's a 20-minute drive to the rice terraces.
**Facilities:**
1. I initially booked a pool access room based on pictures, expecting it to be right outside my door. However, upon arrival, I discovered a significant gap: the room was on the same floor as the pool, but I still had to walk a fair distance to reach it. The photos were misleading.
2. The bathroom lacked body lotion and a weighing scale. For a five-star hotel, this felt a bit underwhelming and not quite up to par.

The grounds and pools are like something out of a postcard. The restaurant is very pleasant and delicious. The breakfast, in particular, is excellent and varied.
Our bungalow with a hot spring was generally nice, just a bit smaller than expected, and we're not fans of the mosquito nets, as they make it even more intrusive. Showering with a view of the stars was great, and above all, the water pressure was good, and the temperature stayed warm or cold.
The resort is located in a small village, and transportation from the ferry can be comparatively expensive (200-400 IDR). There's no Grab or ATM nearby.
Renting a scooter at the end of the street at the Warung Makan was easy (under 100.00 IDR per day), which gave us the flexibility to explore the beautiful area.

The sunset was absolutely stunning! I spent nearly two hours mesmerized by it at the private beach's sunset bar. The live music was so relaxing, making it the perfect spot to simply unwind and indulge in the luxury of doing nothing. The staff were all incredibly kind and friendly. We were celebrating a birthday, and the hotel thoughtfully decorated the room and prepared a cake and birthday card for us. It was a very sweet gesture and made our stay even more memorable. Reception was a little busy upon arrival and made me wait for a couple of hours the until check-in to 2pm, my room was excellent style and big, sadly with no balcony or view onto a very busy and noisy road, and Indonesia is dose it's best to create nose, so next time I have to book a pool view room to get away from the very noisy main road, there's a lovely bathroom and separate toilet, also a bath with TV, the main TV was excellent and I could log into my Netflix account to watch all my favourite programmes, breakfast time is very good with plenty of choice, i will come back and book a pool view room next timeFromUS$16

It is a convenient location as it is not so far from airport and I arrived at midnight so I booked to stay there before heading to another hotel in Ubud. Our recent stay at The Apurva Kempinski Bali was unfortunately one of the most disappointing luxury hotel experiences we have had.
We arrived at around 2:30 PM and waited until approximately 3:40 PM before being able to access a room. During this time, we approached reception several times for updates. While the receptionist initially responded, we were later simply told to wait for an email confirmation and show it to staff once received. This felt unusual and far from the proactive service we would expect from a five-star hotel.
When we were finally escorted to our room, we discovered it had been prepared with twin beds despite our confirmed request for a king-bed room. Even the staff member accompanying us appeared surprised. We were informed that the issue would be investigated, and later received a call advising that a king-bed room was available two floors above us but would not be ready until 8:00 PM.
As compensation, we were offered complimentary cocktails at the Cliff Bar until 10:00 PM. However, upon arriving at the bar, we discovered it actually closed at 7:00 PM. This only added to our frustration, as it seemed no one had verified the information before making the offer.
At around 6:30 PM, we again checked with reception regarding our room status and were told it was still not ready. Rather than providing a solution, we were asked whether we wanted a dinner reservation for later that evening. We ended up having dinner while worrying whether we would eventually be able to move into the correct room.
At 8:00 PM, we returned to reception and shared our concerns with another staff member, who escalated the matter to the duty manager. To his credit, he listened to our feedback and offered several goodwill gestures, including lounge access, breakfast, cocktails and eventually airport transportation. However, as we were staying only one night, most of these benefits had limited value.
We were then told to wait while arrangements were made for our room transfer. By 8:20 PM, nobody had arrived, forcing us to call reception once again. Finally, at around 8:30 PM, the duty manager personally escorted us to the new room, which turned out to be an upgraded room with a private pool.
While we appreciated the upgrade, it was difficult to enjoy it after spending almost six hours dealing with delays, room allocation errors, poor communication and repeated follow-ups. The issue was never about receiving extra benefits—it was about receiving the room we booked and experiencing the level of service expected from a luxury hotel.
To the hotel's credit, the upgraded room made the remainder of our stay more enjoyable, and our second day was much better. However, the first day was so poorly managed that it significantly impacted our overall experience. Mistakes can happen at any hotel, but what defines a true five-star property is how those mistakes are handled. Unfortunately, on this occasion, The Apurva Kempinski Bali fell well short of expectations.FromUS$315

This hotel is a very good choice 👍🏼 I am a little picky, but here’s my review:
Pros:
✅ No damp smell, well ventilated ( I was worried about this)
✅ No insects in the room. There might be some geckos 🦎 (which is normal and expected) but I didn’t see any.
✅ Very clean in general
✅ Comfortable bed
✅ The service is amazing
✅ The staff is very friendly and helpful
✅ The breakfast is very good, there are plenty of choices.
✅ Their restaurant is also very good, in case you don’t want to go out of the resort.
✅ The vibe at the beach is nice and if you like water sports it is also good.
✅ The pool is huge and very nice
✅ Reasonable price (but it will depend on the season and demand)
Cons:
😑 Sound proof can be better, one can hear everyone from the pool (the sound enters from the main door)
😑 The beach is not the best for swimming, and is a bit dirty in general (not the hotel’s fault)
😑 The gym can be better as there are only 3 machines (spinning, treadmill and elliptical) the dumbbells are fine
✅😄 Overall, recommended! I was happy with my stay at this hotel!

Resort’s vibe is good. Close to airport and Jimbaran beach was just a short walk away. Staff are all very friendly and professional, always greeting and smiling from their hearts. Pillows and bed are very comfortable…had good sleep every night. However, we found ants in the room & toilet. Staff did a check and left us a bottle of insecticide 😅 just in case we found more of them.

We booked a king room with lagoon access and was upgraded to a suite (Thank you Andaz, was a lovely surprise). We had a beautiful, clean and spacious room with a massive patio that backed onto a lagoon connected to the main pool with a sea view. It felt like paradise. There were toads croaking after the rain. We saw cockatoos and many other kinds of bird. Bird sang every morning. We even a monitor lizard swimming in the spa’s lily pond. This place is bathed in nature. Service was friendly and warm from top notch staff. The turndown service every evening was a special touch, and the grounds were immaculately kept! There were almost always staff working away to keep the grounds pristine and lush. We really like the hotel’s layout where it seems (to us) that all rooms provide a good level of privacy and some kind of a view, be it lush beautiful gardens, pool or the beach. Lastly, the à la carte unlimited breakfast was what brought us here (from the flip flop traveller, iykyk) and it did not disappoint. What an amazing treat! Andaz Bali is truly a gem.FromUS$318

What truly impressed me the most was the service. Among all the hotels I've stayed in, this one's service is arguably the best and most ceremonial to date.
Every single staff member was incredibly enthusiastic, meticulous, and genuinely cared for the guests, making you feel treated like a king or queen.
