The hotel's location is excellent, and the front desk staff were great. The room was quite spacious and very clean. It's definitely an older hotel, and the decor is a bit dated. The breakfast spread was extensive; I was pleasantly surprised to find Tengchong Xidoufen, which was absolutely delicious and perfectly to my liking. There was a huge selection of Western pastries, especially bread, making it feel more like a Western-style breakfast. The only drawbacks were that showering required standing in the bathtub, the hair dryer was wall-mounted and couldn't be removed, and the bathroom exhaust fan was noisy all night with no way to turn it off.

This stay was quite a bit of trouble for the room attendants, all because one child was celebrating a birthday, but we actually had two children. They went above and beyond to decorate both beds for us, and it was absolutely beautiful! What's more, each bed was decorated differently, so each child got something they loved. They even prepared a child's toilet seat and kid-friendly amenities for us in advance. The service was incredibly thoughtful, and they never made us feel like a bother. We'll definitely be back for next year's birthday celebration and will certainly recommend this place to our friends. The service truly was excellent!

Railway Station Area Kunming|1.72km from city center
Born in 1999, I've always had a special affinity for turn-of-the-millennium architecture. These grand, classic structures, embodying bold visions of the future, also exude a 'dreamcore'-like surreal atmosphere that perfectly aligned with all my childhood aspirations for big cities. The Kunming Grand Park Hotel also opened its doors in 1999. While its facilities might show the passage of time, it still retains an old-world elegance and style. I particularly enjoyed the slow-moving, retro-decorated elevator; each ride felt like a brief journey through time. Walking through the corridors, it was as if time had gently receded, transporting me back to the atmosphere of the early 2000s. I often found myself standing by the window, gazing out at the city's evolving skyline in the distance. I couldn't help but wonder: What would the person who stayed in this very room twenty years ago have been like? Did they also stand by this same window, gazing at the sky and street views of their time, filled with anticipation or uncertainty about the future? It felt as if a thin membrane of time separated us, invisible to each other, yet sharing the exact same view in that moment. I loved it here so much; it felt like opening a window to another time. Yet, as night fell, the clearer that atmosphere from the past became, the more it evoked a gentle melancholy—like a grand, yet now untouchable, old dream. And precisely for this reason, I know I will certainly return.

After reading numerous reviews, I felt the hotel's location was great and the breakfast was good, suggesting that as an established five-star property, it should be decent. However, many negative reviews mentioned outdated facilities, which made me quite apprehensive upon arrival. My check-in experience wasn't great. We arrived a little after 1 PM, but our room wasn't ready yet, still being cleaned. We were asked to store our luggage and return later to check in after we had gone out. After we went out for lunch, it was around 2:30 PM and the room still wasn't ready. The elderly and children in our group were quite tired. They managed to sort it out within ten minutes after that, but then we had issues with the room key cards. I was initially quite disappointed, but once we got to the room, I found the facilities weren't as dated as some reviews suggested. The room felt quite spacious, and the amenities were decent – much better than I had anticipated. The balcony offered a direct view of Nanqiang Street Night Market, which was bustling with food stalls, and it was also very close to the old town. Later, a staff member helped deliver our luggage to the room with a very good attitude. They explained that during peak season, with many tourists, service might not always be perfect, and I decided to be understanding about it. The service for the remaining two days of our stay was excellent. The breakfast was indeed impressive. There was a rich selection of hot and cold dishes, including local Yunnan specialties like freshly prepared rice noodles. They also had a good array of Western-style simple meals, delicious porridge, and a wide variety of salads. A special mention goes to their 'flower cakes' (鲜花饼); they were clearly freshly baked and absolutely far superior to any we found outside. We even bought four boxes to take home. The complimentary water provided was local mineral water, which was surprisingly pleasant. Overall, I'd say the value for money was good, and my entire family was very satisfied with our stay.

Staying at the Sofitel's 270-degree Dianchi Lake view room, looking out at the lake nestled behind the city's towering buildings, one can't help but feel a sense of 'the sea within my heart' amidst the bustling metropolis. This is my second time staying at this five-star hotel with a strong French flair in Kunming, and also my second time experiencing their elegant, 'home away from home' hospitality and service. It truly fills me with warmth, gratitude, and respect. At the hotel, the most exciting part of my day is heading up to the 49th floor for a lavish breakfast with both Chinese and Western options. While enjoying the meal, I gaze down at Kunming's urban rhythm as a new day begins, and instantly feel a surge of new energy and vitality. Whether for business or leisure, after returning to the hotel in the evening, I can head to the fifth floor for a swim (the water temperature is wonderfully pleasant), sauna, or steam bath, for an active rest and relaxation session. The Sofitel's spacious indoor pool is truly exceptional among five-star hotels. With the pool lighting, swimming feels especially easy and enjoyable. With its abundant amenities, delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner, leisure and entertainment options, sports and fitness facilities, and views of Dianchi Lake and the Western Hills, this hotel is a place where you can quietly spend an entire day, offering an ideal environment for solitude and reflection. Kunming is a city worth visiting again and again throughout the year, and the Sofitel Kunming is also a hotel I'm more than happy to return to. See you next time!

The hotel environment is quite good; the lobby is grand and impressive. The front desk staff were professional and welcoming, their smiling service deserves praise. However, there was a bit of a wait for the bellhop to help with luggage to the room after check-in, perhaps understandable given it was late at night. The breakfast was average, nothing spectacular, though there was a decent variety. The rice noodles, in particular, weren't anything special. I really appreciated the detail that the front desk called to ask if I needed room cleaning while I was out, since I hadn't specifically requested it with housekeeping or the front desk. The room size was just right, not too big, not too small. It's directly opposite the Twin Towers and very close to Wanda Plaza. Other attractions are also reasonably accessible, and taxis are easy to get. Check-out was quick, and the bellhop was very proactive in helping with luggage to the car when I left, which definitely increased my positive impression of the hotel. For an older hotel, it's quite well-maintained overall. I would suggest upgrading the hair dryers. All in all, it was a good stay, and I recommend it!

The hotel's location is excellent. Our family of five, across three generations, stayed here during the Mid-Autumn Festival and received a warm greeting from the hotel, complete with mooncakes as a welcome gift. It really made us feel like we could celebrate the holiday even away from home! 😀 The hotel is a bit older, but the facilities are all complete and convenient. The breakfast was incredibly rich and offered a variety of Yunnan delicacies. We enjoyed roasted milk fan, 'xiaoguo liangfen' (small-pot cold noodles), cold fruit salads, and finally got to try the 'xi doufen' (thin pea jelly) I'd been craving for ages. My culinary journey was truly complete! 😄 We also explored the nearby Kunming Old Street and the farmer's market (just a three-minute walk). We happily headed home with freshly purchased 'erkuai' (rice cakes) and rice noodles! We'll definitely stay here again next time we're in Kunming. ☺️

I stayed at Cachet Boutique Hotel Kunming on 25–26 October and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is located a little away from the main pedestrian street, but the area around it has plenty of lively bars and cafés that attract a younger crowd — great if you enjoy a vibrant atmosphere. The hotel itself was clean, beautifully decorated, and thoughtfully designed. I was really impressed by the stylish decor, quality amenities, and the spacious room layout. We were also pleasantly surprised to receive a free room upgrade, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Checking in/out was fast and hassle free. As an additional benefit, the hotel is located 10 minutes from the train station. Overall, it’s excellent value for money — I’d definitely recommend Cachet Boutique Hotel to anyone visiting Kunming who’s looking for comfort, style, and a touch of local charm.

This is a historic, vintage-style hotel. The location is superb, right at the main entrance of Cuihu Park. Kunming Old Street is just 1 km away and easily reachable on foot, with the route dotted with popular photo-op spots. While the hotel's facilities are a bit dated, they contribute to its historical charm. The service from this established hotel was absolutely impeccable. From the moment we stepped out of the car at the entrance, through check-in, and all the way to our room, a dedicated staff member was with us. We were quite touched, even a little embarrassed, that an elderly gentleman insisted on pushing our luggage all the way to our room. Upon check-in, we were offered peach gum and white fungus soup, floral cookies, and fresh fruit. The buffet breakfast was also quite varied. Several well-known mushroom hot pot restaurants are also conveniently located just outside the hotel, within easy walking distance. Highly recommended.

The rooms were of a good size. The design of the bathroom was not that well thought out. Just below a light in the bathroom there was the shower head. And a bathtub was cramped in there. I chose to stay at the Marriott for easy access to the high-speed train station the next day. The room was clean and tidy. However, the front desk agent during check-in was quite unenthusiastic, acting as if speaking was a chore. The wrong set of toiletries was provided in the bathroom, though the housekeeping attendant was incredibly polite and helpful. As for the buffet on the first floor, I'd recommend skipping it if you can. For someone from Guangdong, the seafood selection there is genuinely worse than what you'd find at a typical 88 RMB buffet. I'd suggest that if the hotel can't provide quality sashimi and seafood, they should simply offer an all-meat or all-cooked food buffet instead. It's a huge letdown.

My main purpose for visiting Kunming this time was to escape the summer heat, relax, and explore the local food scene, so I chose a hotel right next to Kunming Old Street. It's an established five-star hotel, showing its age a bit, but that also gives it a reassuring sense of reliability. The rooms are standard, nothing fancy, but the blue skies and white clouds outside the window were beautiful every day. The complimentary welcome fruits and snacks were plentiful and even included lollipops, which made me feel like the hotel puts a special emphasis on families with children. There's a kids' play area on the floor, and the buffet restaurant even has a dedicated children's dining section. The breakfast was the biggest highlight – rich, delicious, and featuring many Yunnan specialty dishes. Just be sure to avoid peak times. The hotel's location is unbeatable. Nanping Walking Street, Nanqiang Street, and Jinma Biji Archway are all within walking distance, and ride-sharing services are readily available, with pickups almost instantaneous.

From the moment I stepped into the lobby, the whole experience was wonderful! The front desk lady had a super sweet smile, and the welcome tea she offered instantly soothed my travel fatigue. Check-in was incredibly efficient, and she thoughtfully reminded me of the operating hours for all the facilities. She even kindly helped take my luggage to the room – service details get full marks! The overall design is exquisite Thai style, with Southeast Asian elements everywhere, making you feel like you're on vacation in Chiang Mai. The hotel room was clean and tidy, very comfortable, and the bathroom had a separate wet and dry area. In the evening, the front desk staff even gave me a very delicate afternoon tea, which was perfect for photos. And the hotel's hot spring pool! The water temperature was consistently comfortable, and the water quality was crystal clear. Soaking in the hot springs under the stars, all my fatigue melted away – it was simply blissful! For breakfast, they even had freshly baked 'Shao Er Kuai' (a local specialty): crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, with a secret sauce, and soul-satisfying 'Xi Dou Fen' (thick pea soup) – an authentic Kunming way to warm your heart and stomach. Plus, there were dozens of other Chinese and Western dishes rotated daily. I've already recommended it to all my friends visiting Kunming! Whether it's a family trip or a romantic getaway, this place will definitely give you an experience that exceeds your expectations.

Staying at the Zhenshiwoyun Boutique Hotel felt like stepping into an elegant garden hidden within the bustling city. The traditional courtyard architecture is cleverly blended with modern design, and the lush greenery in the central courtyard is vibrant and refreshing. As you walk along the skywalk, the scenery changes, creating a truly delightful experience. The room was clean and tidy, with warm, rustic wooden furniture and comfortable, soft bedding – attention to detail was evident everywhere. The hygiene was impressive; the floors were spotless, and the toiletries were comprehensive and of excellent quality. The service was particularly outstanding; the front desk staff were warm and attentive, proactively helping with luggage and thoughtfully recommending local attractions. The facilities were comprehensive and convenient. The sky garden on the third floor offered a spacious viewing terrace with panoramic city skyline views – it was a unique pleasure to sit there in the evening. The location is superb, within walking distance of popular shopping areas like Jinma Biji Archway and Nanping Street, surrounded by numerous dining options, making transportation very convenient. Despite being in a busy area, the hotel creates a tranquil 'hidden gem' atmosphere, an ideal sanctuary during a tiring journey. The only minor drawback was the noisy surrounding environment outside the hotel's main entrance, with a night market nearby. However, this is a minor flaw in an otherwise excellent overall experience. Highly recommended!

Came to Kunming with my 6 years old. We didn’t know the hotel is inside the mall so was a little lost. But staff were very kind to come out and fetch us to the hotel. They offered to carry my big heavy luggage up to the room. That’s giving the extra mile service. The room is very culturally designed, amenities are very sufficient and breakfast is healthy and local taste. Overall I’m very happy and pleased with their friendliness and very hospitable. The hotel is near 2 attractions where we managed to walk with baidu map help. You can check it out too. The hotel is also very near to Kunming railway station just 15-20mins cab down. 谢谢帅哥美女们的细心照顾和帮助。我们住的很愉快😁

I stayed at this 'industrial aesthetic' hotel in Kunming. They say Kunming is a haven for slow living, and at RAW Hotel, I truly found the answer. It doesn't feel like a typical hotel; it's more like an 'unfinished' aesthetic vessel. The cool concrete is subtly softened by the warmth of sunlight and brass accents. What truly captivated me was the small balcony always peeking with greenery, where I savored the leisure of the entire city of Kunming. It's cleverly tucked away in the city's most interesting area, with the artsy Culture Lane and the lively Wenlin Street right next door. A short stroll leads you to the edge of Green Lake. Sunlight pouring through the balcony's glass doors becomes the most artistic light master, painting ever-changing scenes on the concrete walls. At night, lying in the bathtub, I could catch glimpses of the stars. The attention to detail is so obsessive that even the bathtub is pure brass, elevating the sense of ritual. The little balcony, gently embraced by greenery, was a delightful surprise. Enjoying Yunnan coffee there in the morning and a breezy drink in the evening became the most luxurious moments of my trip. Breakfast can be delivered to your room, with the fragrant aroma of 'Xiaoguo Mixian' (small pot rice noodles) or the charm of a Western breakfast waking you up every morning. After nightfall, the lobby subtly transforms into a craft beer bar. A slight buzz paired with jazz music was the perfect end to the day. This trip taught me that RAW isn't about being unrefined; it's about returning to authenticity. It's about finding the most comfortable sense of belonging in the raw.

I was quite hesitant when booking a hotel, but I figured Howard Johnson would be a safe bet, and it certainly didn't let us down. The hotel isn't far from Dianchi Lake, and the surroundings are very pleasant and quiet. It's convenient to get around, whether by car or shared electric scooter. There are many hotels in the vicinity, including some more upscale options, but I think Howard Johnson offers pretty good value for money. Our room even came with a terrace, which was a lovely touch. The only slight downside was that some of the facilities felt a bit dated, but otherwise, everything else was great.
