I wholeheartedly recommend the Grand Park Hotel Kunming! The location is excellent, making it super convenient for getting around. There's a plethora of amazing food options right on your doorstep, so you'll never have to worry about finding something delicious. The room was spotlessly clean, fresh, and wonderfully quiet, making for a truly comfortable stay. The service, however, was the real highlight. The staff were meticulous and attentive, providing thoughtful and heartwarming care throughout my stay. Their dedication was evident in every small detail.

The hotel's guest services called in advance to inquire about my check-in needs, and the room arranged for me this time was very comfortable. The hotel has a grand, vintage-style decor, and the room facilities are complete and easy to use. The hotel's location and surroundings are excellent; it's very convenient to get to Cuihu Lake or Dianchi Lake to see the seagulls, or to the old street for snacks. The staff are also warm and thoughtful. There's even a delivery robot that can bring takeout to your room, so the service is always on point. I'm quite satisfied and highly recommend it. I stayed at Cachet Boutique Hotel Kunming on 25–26 October and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is located a little away from the main pedestrian street, but the area around it has plenty of lively bars and cafés that attract a younger crowd — great if you enjoy a vibrant atmosphere. The hotel itself was clean, beautifully decorated, and thoughtfully designed. I was really impressed by the stylish decor, quality amenities, and the spacious room layout. We were also pleasantly surprised to receive a free room upgrade, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Checking in/out was fast and hassle free. As an additional benefit, the hotel is located 10 minutes from the train station. Overall, it’s excellent value for money — I’d definitely recommend Cachet Boutique Hotel to anyone visiting Kunming who’s looking for comfort, style, and a touch of local charm.

Cuihu District Kunming|1.6km from city center
Tonight, I made a last-minute check-in at the 'Cuihu Hotel', designed by I.M. Pei. It was unplanned, but a delightful surprise. In my opinion, a hotel isn't a museum; its 'sense of history' should be elegant, not heavy, and its 'vintage feel' should be classic, not dated. Before arriving, I was very worried this 69-year-old hotel would feel stuffy and decayed. To my surprise, Cuihu Hotel strikes the perfect balance and shows great wisdom. For example, the public area ceilings are adorned with 24K gold leaf, and the murals feature maple wood relief carvings with gold accents – aesthetics that are certainly a product of their time [tears of joy emoji]. However, they've now added many art pieces to temper this 'bling' and enhance the elegance and scholarly vibe. Even the subtle classical jazz music and the light, delicate fragrance filling the air inject a fresh, youthful spirit into the overall ambiance. Yet, the common issues of older hotels persist: outdated facilities, bathtub design, and those unsightly large pillars… This leaves me feeling conflicted, both loving and hating it, and hesitant about whether I'd stay here again (especially with kids). What truly stood out was the check-in experience: the front desk gifted us fresh roses, a succulent potted plant, and a postcard as souvenirs. In the room, there was a handwritten card, red-billed gull biscuits, Yunnan small-bean coffee powder with a Moka pot. They even pre-arranged a bedtime dessert and a crib bumper. For welcome fruits, the housekeeping auntie knocked on our door with a basket, letting us choose our own! 😄 These interactions significantly elevated the stay, even adding a wonderful touch to my overall impression of this Yunnan trip. In summary, it has history but struggles with modernity; thankfully, the details, service, and quality are all excellent 👍. P.S. The room upgrade was successful, and my 'begging' for it went very smoothly.

I stayed for two nights this time and had an absolutely fantastic experience! The room was spotless, and the bedding was soft and breathable – no stuffiness at all. The soundproofing was surprisingly good; I wasn't disturbed by any hallway noise at night. Check-in at the front desk was super fast, and they even proactively gave me a guide to local restaurants, which was a very thoughtful touch. Definitely great value for money, making it my top choice for business trips~

The room was clean and tidy with a fantastic view. Our butler, Kaia, proactively added me on WeChat. When I couldn't find a place nearby to buy roasted milk fans, she even helped me search on a platform – she was so enthusiastic and always available. During my stay in Kunming, I accidentally ingested alkali. I called the front desk and 120 in the middle of the night, and the front desk's response was very quick. My trip was cut short due to the alkali incident, but I'll definitely be back next time!

We are happy with our stay. It is very near the GREEN PARK. Just in front of the hotel. They even have a washer and dryer. Just minus point is the room is small and dark. Not suitable for family. But the front desk have informed us about the room is small but we did not expect it to be really cramp and so dim😆 because it mentions 2 bed. But its really a great hotel to stay. The staff is nice and helpful. The bed is comfy. I really recommended it for couples and solo traveller. If you want to go to the old town, take a didi. Its only 5-10 minuted by car.

Nanping Pedestrian Street Kunming|0.72km from city center
Originally, Kunming was just a transit city on my itinerary, but I decided to stay an extra day. After a long search on Trip.com, I found this hotel with great location and reviews. **Environment**: It's very close to Nanqiang Street and has many shopping malls nearby, so going out for food and shopping at night was absolutely no problem. It's also very close to the subway station, making it convenient to get to attractions like Cuihu Park and Dounan Flower Market. The lobby is bright and clean, giving off a grand and spacious vibe. **Hygiene**: It was clean and tidy. You could tell the towels had been disinfected by their feel, though they were a bit stiff, the hygiene was assured. The only minor flaw was dust on the top layer of the bar counter glass, which was more noticeable under the lights. **Facilities**: Pretty standard, I suppose. I was mostly out city walking and didn't spend much time at the hotel, so I didn't use many facilities and can't really comment much. However, the in-room hardware and software facilities were good, and the bed was very comfortable. What's worth mentioning is the master light switch by the bed; not all hotels have this. This feature is a blessing for those who are sensitive to light when sleeping and those who are afraid of the dark when getting out of bed to turn off the lights – if you know, you know. **Service**: Excellent and very polite. Everyone greeted me kindly. They personally helped carry my luggage upstairs. The restaurant service was also great; they always maintained a smile and patiently answered customer questions. They even delivered fruit, mooncakes, and small snacks in the evening, which was a very thoughtful touch. Although it's not the newest or the cheapest, I was very satisfied with the service and comfort. The location is a significant advantage. I would consider staying here again on my next trip to Kunming.

The best service I experienced was at the Cloud Restaurant. I made a reservation a day before checking in, and everything was perfectly arranged. This hotel is really great for kids, offering excellent value for money in Kunming city. Because it was a holiday, room service was a bit slow; I had to call three times every time I needed something. The butler's response was also a bit slow, but I only called room service after the butler didn't deliver what I asked for, and even then, it was still very slow. There was a welcome fruit platter from Trip.com. Honestly, for Kunming, this fruit platter was a bit of a letdown—it would've been better not to send it at all, especially since I had to contact Trip.com staff to get it delivered.

I ordered takeout, but the hotel doesn't allow the deliveryman to deliver to the room because it was inconvenient for me, so I asked the front desk for help, and it was delivered to the room very quickly. When I asked the reason, the front desk guy told me that it was for the safety of the guests that the deliveryman was not allowed to go upstairs. The hotel has trained guests that if they need takeout to the room, they can help deliver it. The overall feeling of the hotel is good, and the service attitude is very good. When I checked in, I asked about the surrounding attractions and routes, and they explained it very patiently. The room internet connection was very fast, and I asked the waiter, who told me that each room has an independent dedicated line. The room feels clean, and you can swim, exercise, and take a hot spring bath. Since I had a lot of fun, I didn't have time to take a few photos of the hotel. I will take more photos after I check in next time.

The hotel is in a good location, very close to Kunming Botanical Garden and next to Yunnan Agricultural University. The environment of the Agricultural University is not inferior to that of the Botanical Garden, with green trees and a good place for walking. Although the hotel is a certain age, it is well maintained and does not feel old at all. It is clean and tidy. The flower arrangements and landscape shapes everywhere are very artistic. The service is also very good. Every employee I met greeted me with a smile. I especially want to praise the housekeeper Xiao Yang. The thoughtful service left us a good impression. He arranged fruit yogurt on time every day and kept asking us if we needed anything. After a day, we seemed to have become old friends. We couldn't help but greet each other enthusiastically when we met, because I felt that Xiao Yang wanted to provide us with better service from the bottom of his heart. Incredible breakfast with dozens of things to choose from in a beautiful dining room with large glass windows overlooking a garden. Overall, the stay was highly satisfying and definitely worth recommending. We were initially drawn by the ethnic characteristics of the hotel when booking, and after checking in, we were truly impressed by the warm and professional service, well-equipped rooms, and convenient location. Given that we were traveling as a family with elderly members, the staff patiently helped us upgrade and adjust our room type until we were completely satisfied. The breakfast offered a nutritious and varied selection—the traditional pot milk tea comes highly recommended. The hotel also provides a complimentary ethnic photo experience, which aligns perfectly with its cultural theme. Its location is another advantage, within walking distance to several city attractions, and the lively atmosphere downstairs adds a touch of local charm, somewhat making up for the minor drawbacks of being housed in an older building (such as sharing the elevator with neighboring businesses).

My stay at RAW Hotel was an absolutely fantastic experience, truly embracing that industrial-chic comfort. The red brick facade with metal accents immediately sets a stylish tone. Stepping inside, the high-ceilinged space feels incredibly bright and open. Amber glass lamps paired with a black iron staircase, accented with some greenery, add a touch of warmth to the cool, hard-edged style, preventing it from feeling at all oppressive. The copper bathtub in the room was a real highlight for me. Placed by the window, I could enjoy the view of the brick walls outside while soaking – so relaxing and picture-perfect. The white brick walls with warm yellow pendant lights showcase incredible attention to detail; every shot I took was Instagram-ready without needing any edits. The hotel also has its own little bar, which was super convenient for a drink downstairs in the evening, no need to go far. The front desk service was very attentive, proactively recommending local restaurants and photo-worthy spots. My entire stay was comfortable and full of novel experiences. Both the value for money and the overall experience were top-notch. I'll definitely choose this place again on my next visit.

Dianchi Lake Scenic Area/ Sunac World Kunming|8.11km from city center
I was quite hesitant when booking a hotel, but I figured Howard Johnson would be a safe bet, and it certainly didn't let us down. The hotel isn't far from Dianchi Lake, and the surroundings are very pleasant and quiet. It's convenient to get around, whether by car or shared electric scooter. There are many hotels in the vicinity, including some more upscale options, but I think Howard Johnson offers pretty good value for money. Our room even came with a terrace, which was a lovely touch. The only slight downside was that some of the facilities felt a bit dated, but otherwise, everything else was great.

South Asia Feature No. 1 City Kunming|2.4km from city center
The Vienna Hotel is as reassuring as ever, and the deluxe double room is upgraded for free. The price is still OK. The waiter and the front desk are very intimate, the room size is about 25 square meters, and there are tatami mats near the window. The items are still sitting down and resting. There are places that will not appear very cramped. This is especially satisfactory. The most comfortable is the Vienna mattress, and the same feeling as at home, whether it is a business trip or a trip, Vienna is the first choice.
