A whole apartment to yourself with condo facilities (gym and swimming pool) available at level 4. Hotel staff helps to direct and open doors for guests coming in and out by car. Rooms are a little old and some noise from traffic can be heard from level 22 where we stayed but just a small issue for us. Beds and towels seem properly clean with daily housekeeping available. Definitely worth the value staying here.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Oriental Jade Hotel, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. From the moment I arrived, I was incredibly impressed by the genuine hospitality and the warm, welcoming attitude of the entire staff. Every team member I interacted with went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable, demonstrating a level of attentive, personalized service that is rare to find. A major highlight of the experience was the hotel breakfast. The food was absolutely excellent—fresh, delicious, and offering a fantastic variety to start the day off right. I really enjoyed every aspect of my stay and left feeling completely refreshed. If you are looking for a hotel with a dedicated team that truly cares about your experience, look no further. I will definitely be returning!

Very attentive. Fast and efficient staff. It was my mom’s birthday and they went above and beyond to make the day special.  The staff are all friendly . When we needed a shower chair for our senior citizen mother, within minutes it came up to our room.  I felt that this small request made us feel extemely special to them.  The door staff are so attentive and chatty. Its a good feel for making us so special.

The hotel rooms are spacious and well-equipped, though a bit old-fashioned. The bathtub isn't very practical for use, but the surrounding area is very convenient. The breakfast offers a rich variety of choices. The service is excellent, with greeters at the entrance and by the elevators. I stay here every time I visit Hanoi.

The hotel is located right in the heart of the old quarters. It provides excellent breakfast man by a crew is very well trained and friendly staff. One particular staff, Ms phem is especially engaging as she talks to each customer, getting to know them as they come in for breakfast. She can converse in English very well too. I like their facilities such as the infinity pool, jacuzzi etc. The only negative is that during my stay, there was construction nearby, and it always happens around midnight.

This hotel was a fantastic find! The Guest Relations team was incredibly helpful, recommending great places to eat. The doorman at the front desk was also super friendly, even remembering our room number. The environment is lovely, and it's right in a lively neighborhood. If I ever come back to Hanoi, I'd definitely choose this hotel again! My dad actually stayed here previously and recommended it, and I can truly say my experience was excellent. The entrance is a bit hidden, but that didn't affect our stay at all; in fact, it made the place feel more peaceful and quiet.

The hotel’s location is excellent. The night view from the terrace is wonderful. The staff are very helpful and friendly. They welcome you with tropical fruits. You feel really at home. The buffet breakfast was very good. The hotel’s biggest drawback is the pool. Unfortunately, the hotel’s pool is very, very small.

The room was spacious, and the service was very attentive; staff even helped carry our luggage to the room. The hotel's location is excellent, making shopping and dining very convenient, with a mall and supermarket nearby. There's also a small lake next to it, which is a great bonus for morning runners. Right by the lake, there's a branch of Pho 10, a famous pho restaurant that President Obama once visited. As soon as you step inside, you're greeted by the rich aroma of beef broth, which is somewhat similar to the scent of Northwestern Chinese beef noodle soup, yet distinctly different. Do note that an additional tax is charged when dining here.

I'd been eyeing this hotel since last year, thinking I'd make a trip to Hanoi just for it. A week before my trip, I emailed the hotel to sort out some details, and the cake they made was exactly the flavor I requested – absolutely perfect. When I arrived, it certainly didn't disappoint. Stepping into the hotel, I was immediately enveloped by Bill Bensley's maximalist, opera-house-inspired design. Check-in coincided perfectly with afternoon tea, so I picked out a few cakes, savory bites, and drinks (highly recommend the apple cucumber kombucha). Time just flew by until the evening jazz performance; listening to the elegant jazz music and enjoying unlimited special concoctions was pure bliss. Dinner was at The Hudson Rooms on the top floor. I casually ordered a steak and an appetizer. The steak itself was a good cut, but it was a bit overcooked, so the server kindly offered me two complimentary desserts (both were delicious!). She also booked me a table at the mysterious speakeasy, Bar 61. Of course, getting in still required solving a riddle to find the key and unlock the door. There, I tried their exclusive whiskies and cocktails. I'd already lost count of how many drinks I'd had since walking into the hotel – this place truly is a paradise for dessert lovers and whiskey enthusiasts! After drinks, I returned to my room to find the turndown service complete, and a hot, bubbly bath with rose petals already drawn. I put on the hotel's jazz playlist and soaked in the tub – it was incredibly comfortable. 🥰 After a restful night, I woke up the next day for the long-awaited breakfast. It was primarily à la carte. I tried their pho, which was incredibly fresh and sweet with a generous portion of beef. The spring rolls were unbelievably soft and delicious. Even as someone who doesn't typically like coffee, their egg coffee won me over. Paired with fresh French oysters, it felt like I wouldn't need to eat for the rest of the day after that meal.

Rephrase nicely and polite please: the overall experience was good (close to the mart - reasonable price, pickball, tennis/table tennis/pool 8 balls/ and swimming on site) until s male receptionist named Hieu decided to go above and beyond to tell us that he needed to check the room. It was around 12ish. We showed him the booking via trip.com. it stated thay we have until 2pm to check out. He refused to accept it. I asked if i could speak to a manager, this big ego guy was adamant thay it will still be the same outcome and threatened if we dont check out now there will be additional fee cherged for late checkout. We went to see a manager and she confirmed indeed it was 2pm. His ego crashed and hid inside another room to get away from embarrassment. Then at 1.40pm we recieved a call from trip.com telling us that the hotel rang them to remind us to check out. We told trip.com that it was your plateform thay stated 2pm. This is well within the allowable time frame. We even told them the hotel manager confirmed it was 2pm check out. Why they simply take instructions from a guy named hieu seeking his little revenge without checking the facts. I was wondering about his motivation and why he picked on us...and how did he know we were to check out today..only a few reasons i could come up with and money is probably one of them. There was no apology or nothing but a cold look exchange. Here’s a more polished and polite version of your message while still keeping your point clear: Overall, our stay was pleasant. The location is convenient (close to the mart), the price is reasonable, and we appreciated the range of on-site facilities such as pickleball, tennis, table tennis, pool, and swimming. However, our experience was unfortunately affected by an incident with a male receptionist named Hieu. At around 12:00 pm, he approached us insisting that we check out so he could inspect the room. We showed him our booking confirmation via Trip.com, which clearly stated that our check-out time was 2:00 pm. Despite this, he refused to acknowledge it. When I politely asked to speak with a manager, he insisted that the outcome would not change and warned that we would be charged an additional fee if we did not check out immediately. We then spoke directly with the manager, who confirmed that our check-out time was indeed 2:00 pm. Later, at around 1:40 pm, we received a call from Trip.com informing us that the hotel had contacted them to remind us to check out. We clarified that our booking clearly allowed check-out until 2:00 pm and that this had already been confirmed by the hotel manager. It was disappointing that this follow-up occurred without verifying the situation properly. The situation left us feeling uncomfortable, particularly as there was no apology or clarification afterward—only a rather cold interaction. While the facilities and overall stay were enjoyable, this experience with staff communication and handling of the situation was disappointing. We were pleased with the rest of our interactions with other staff there. Thank you for your warm and welcoming service.

Formal Complaint regarding Booking -Unacceptable Noise and Room Assignment Dear Management, I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with our recent 4-night stay at your hotel. We traveled with young children and booked a 120sqm room. A month before our arrival, we specifically requested a high-floor room to ensure a quiet environment. Despite this, we were assigned to the 10th floor, which was less than 10 meters away from an active construction site. The night-time construction noise made it impossible for our family, especially our children, to sleep. This turned our vacation into a nightmare. While the front desk offered two Starbucks vouchers, we find this response completely inadequate and dismissive of the severe distress caused by four sleepless nights. The hotel’s failure to honor a long-standing request and the decision to place a family next to a noisy construction site is unacceptable. I expect a more appropriate resolution and a formal response regarding this matter. Regards,

Spent 3 nights here during the National Day holiday in Hanoi. The location is super convenient, close to Train Street, Hoan Kiem Lake, and the Old Quarter, with plenty of cafes nearby. The breakfast is mainly European, but they also have pho, which I had every morning. It was just as good as, if not better than, the pho from Michelin-starred places outside! The staff provided excellent service. They were quick to address and resolve any issues, and their service-mindedness was top-notch – they even proactively helped with luggage. The only minor drawback is that the room was a bit small, but that's a small detail that doesn't overshadow the overall experience. I highly recommend staying here!

The room is massive for 3 people ~ there are 2 toliet ,a washing machine , a dryer and a well equipped kitchen! Very clean n tidy even got a sauna and steam , big gym and a pool ! Love it ! However they need to improve in service, there are few receptionists aren’t polite and seems lost when I ask them questions . When I check in, there’s only a lady to welcome me and I have to carry the luggages on my own to the room, zero service provided. And at first there are issue with the stove and the tv , I called the receptionist for help but I waited more than 30mins still no one came. I wonder if this is due to not near city centre so the service is not as good (?) The breakfast is so-so, not ALOT of choice But one good thing is they got free shuttle but the time slot is kinda weird and very rare. However it might not be super convenient if you are going to explore hanoi , if you take grab everywhere is not a concern , also kinda close to big supermarket and 30mins drive to airport !

The room is very spacious, a three-bedroom, one-living room suite with an en-suite bathroom. The layout is excellent, making it ideal for large family trips. It's also very convenient as it comes with cutlery and cooking utensils. The hotel's pool is fantastic; there's one on the ground floor for children and an infinity pool on the top floor for adults, offering views of West Lake. The hotel breakfast is also very good. Since there are many Japanese and Korean guests, the breakfast tends to be more Western-style, with a bit of Korean kimchi. The staff are highly professional and have good English, though less so in Chinese. The hotel's location is decent, situated in what appears to be an affluent area, so other hotels nearby likely aren't cheap either. Despite being a bit further from the city center, the price is reasonable considering the amenities. Getting a taxi to other places is very quick, as most destinations are around West Lake, and it's also very close to the rebuilt lake. Overall, highly recommended.

The rooms are a bit dated: the decor is a bit retro, and the space isn't huge, with some facilities showing their age. The rooms were beautifully appointed, and the location was absolutely perfect, being just a short walk to the Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake, a wonderful spot to explore fantastic local food. I also thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast, which offered a sufficient buffet plus an à la carte menu, providing a wonderful start to the day. Every detail made for a memorable experience.

My recent stay at the Sheraton Hanoi West Hotel was an exceptional experience and left a lasting impression on me as a first-time guest. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the elegant atmosphere and the warm hospitality that defines the Sheraton brand. The hotel’s location by West Lake provides a peaceful and scenic escape from the busy streets of Hanoi, yet it’s conveniently close to the city center, making it easy to explore the local attractions and cultural landmarks. The check-in process was smooth and efficient. The staff greeted me with genuine smiles and offered a refreshing welcome drink, which immediately set a positive tone for my stay. Throughout my visit, I found the staff to be attentive, professional, and always ready to assist with any requests, whether it was arranging transportation, offering local restaurant recommendations, or providing information about nearby attractions. My room exceeded expectations — spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated with a mix of modern comfort and Vietnamese charm. The large windows opened up to a stunning view of West Lake, especially beautiful during sunrise and sunset. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the room was well-equipped with everything I needed — a high-quality coffee maker, fast Wi-Fi, and a luxurious bathroom complete with a rain shower and premium toiletries. Breakfast at the Sheraton Hanoi West was another highlight. The buffet offered a wide selection of both local and international dishes — from fresh pho and tropical fruits to pastries and Western-style eggs and bacon. The quality of the food was excellent, and the service in the restaurant was consistently friendly and attentive. I also appreciated the peaceful lake view from the dining area, which made every morning feel special. During my stay, I also took advantage of the hotel’s facilities — the fitness center was well-maintained with modern equipment, and the outdoor pool area provided a relaxing environment to unwind after a day of exploring. The lounge and bar areas were elegant and comfortable, perfect for enjoying an evening cocktail or meeting with friends. Overall, my first stay at Sheraton Hanoi West Hotel was outstanding in every aspect — comfort, service, and atmosphere. It truly felt like a home away from home, and I was impressed by how well the hotel balanced luxury with genuine warmth. I would highly recommend this hotel to both business travelers and tourists looking for a high-quality, relaxing stay in Hanoi. I look forward to returning soon and experiencing the same exceptional hospitality once again.

Exceeded expectations! This small yet exquisite hotel boasts beautiful decor. The room was spacious and well-organized, making me feel comfortable the moment I stepped in. The rooftop bar is stunning, and the location is fantastic, just a few minutes' walk from Train Street. The breakfast selection was rich, fresh, and appealing, combining a buffet with à la carte options, and everything tasted delicious. The service was warm and friendly; staff actively helped with luggage and always greeted guests politely. There was only one minor issue: the front desk wasn't aware of the ”200,000 VND food and beverage credit per room” offer, and I didn't have time to use it anyway, so I let it go. I only stayed one night; I wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy it more. Also, Trip.com's service is truly excellent, and this isn't even about this particular booking. I've had issues with other bookings, and Trip.com has always tried its best to resolve them. I forgot to mention it in those reviews, so I'm adding it here.

The hotel location is very perfect, and easy to go to anywhere in old quarter. I like stay in here cause easy to go to pub, eating place, spa, and so many shop and eateries in here. But the very important thing is cindy because she is friendly and care to us and to the people stay in here and every morning she come to breakfast area and coming to our table too in the breakfast time and asking what we need for breakfast and anything we need for breakfast and in the hotel and chit chat with us. Before we going to airport and she give us 2 gift of this coffee. All the staff in this hotel very help and friendly and room boy helps us to bring our luggage to lobby hotel. Only 1 things this hotel need to improve is the gym, cause the gym don't have many equipment for doing the gym. Everything is perfect, keep going with your service. Don’t waste your time looking anywhere else in Hanoi—just book Classyc! My husband and I travel quite frequently, and we can confidently say this was one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. From start to finish, every detail felt thoughtful, warm, and genuinely exceptional. We initially booked the Grand Suite for 3 days and 2 nights before heading off on a Ha Long Bay cruise, then returned to Classyc for the remainder of our stay. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with cold towels, welcome drinks, and snacks—such a refreshing and thoughtful touch after traveling. The service throughout our stay was impeccable. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, always going above and beyond. Arthur personally escorted us to our room and even checked in with us later that evening via message to ensure everything was perfect. We were also welcomed with chocolates in the room, which made the experience feel even more personal. It’s the little touches that truly set this hotel apart. We received complimentary wine vouchers, spa discounts, and consistently warm, attentive service at every interaction. When we returned from Ha Long Bay, it genuinely felt like we were coming home. Walking into our new room to find a heart-shaped chocolate mousse cake and a handwritten welcome-back note from the team was such a thoughtful and memorable surprise There was also a moment that really reflected the hotel’s integrity and commitment to guest satisfaction. We had booked a signature spa package, not realizing it wasn’t included in the 20% discount promotion. While we didn’t raise any concerns, the staff proactively followed up the next day at breakfast, apologized for the confusion, and extended the discount to us anyway. We were genuinely touched by this gesture—it spoke volumes about how much they care about their guests’ experience. On our final day, we had some time to spare before our flight. After exploring the city, we returned to the hotel and the staff kindly offered us access to the spa facilities so we could freshen up before heading to the airport—an incredibly thoughtful and appreciated gesture. They also arranged a luxury transfer for us, complete with comfortable seats and even a massage function, which made the journey that much more enjoyable! As we were leaving, one of the staff members surprised us with a beautiful ceramic wind chime symbolizing positive energy and good luck. It was such a meaningful and heartfelt farewell, and a perfect end to an already unforgettable stay. A few additional highlights worth mentioning: - A great breakfast spread with plenty of variety - A lovely rooftop pool area to unwind - Reno Bar downstairs, which became one of our favorite spots in Hanoi—fantastic cocktails, delicious bar snacks, a cool retro vibe, and great music. During our visit with some friends they even surprised us with a complimentary tray of shots! Classyc is more than just a hotel—it’s an experience defined by genuine hospitality, attention to detail, and heartfelt service. We’re already looking forward to our next trip to Hanoi, just so we can stay here again!

We had a very solid and comfortable stay at the San Premium Hotel, which is perfectly situated right in the heart of the Old Quarter. The location is incredibly convenient, with everything you could possibly need located just a short walk away. The absolute highlight of our experience, however, was the impeccable service. The staff is extraordinarily courteous, welcoming, and proactive. Their English proficiency is excellent, which made communication seamless. When I approached them with several non-standard requests, they handled them with high-level professionalism and genuine politeness, and they were always quick to assist with our luggage. The accommodation itself was highly satisfying. We stayed in a spacious room that featured a wonderfully large terrace. The bathroom was well-appointed and in great condition. Most importantly, the level of cleanliness throughout the room was flawless. The bed and pillows provided a very comfortable night's sleep, and I specifically appreciated the use of proper fitted sheets - a crucial detail for comfort that many hotels surprisingly overlook. It is exactly this kind of attention to basic hospitality standards that makes a property reliable. The only notable area for improvement is the breakfast. The morning buffet was quite monotonous and the food lacked flavor, so I cannot say I was impressed by it. However, if you are only staying for a couple of days, it is completely tolerable, especially considering the abundance of excellent dining options right outside the hotel doors. Overall, the exceptional staff, meticulous room cleanliness, and prime location easily make up for the mediocre breakfast. This is a highly reliable hotel that delivers on the most important aspects of hospitality.

Breakfast was good as per other reviews. The service was impeccable, other than some confusion around the type of room and what kind of benefit we would get from the room, because I had booked a room which comes with one free beer. I will be checking with Trip.com as to whether I should be entitled to 2 cups of beer since the entitlement is 1 class per guest and the room can accommodate 2 guests. Also the lady (Triang?) checking us in totally forgot to give the voucher for the beer even though we told her. Other than that, the location was good, and you could catch bus 86 to the airport at a bus stop at Hang Tre by walking about 4 mins to it. It is also near convenience shops, etc. For cheaper buys, walk about 8 mins to the nearby Walking Street Market than buy from the retailers near this hotel. For Massage, the shop directly opposite the entrance does a good job. The sheets can clean and nice smelling. Highly recommended.

The rooms are pretty tired as other people have noted. An upgrade may help but is not a deal breaker. Housekeeping is great. The pricing is a bit higher online but you can book directly and get a better price. The breakfast is okay, nothing great but whatever is available is pretty good. Restaurant staff is really great. We really enjoyed our stay at Aira. This is a great boutique hotel. The staff are friendly, the rooms are beautiful and the location is great. Although the rooms were not large, this did not pose a problem for us as we were out most of the day. We still managed to fit us and a cot into the room. We highly recommend this hotel if you’re considering a visit to Hanoi.

Standards for four-star hotels can vary significantly from one country or region to another, and this often leads to very different expectations for travelers who are familiar with the rating systems in their own countries. What is considered a four-star experience in China, for example, may not align perfectly with what you will find in Vietnam. With that in mind, the Sen Grand Hotel & Spa Managed by Sen Group in Hanoi offers a stay that I would describe as neither particularly impressive nor particularly disappointing—somewhere comfortably in the middle. The hotel does have a few positive points worth mentioning. One of the main advantages is its location. It is situated fairly close to a main road, making it convenient for guests who want quick access to transportation, nearby shops, and general city activity. This can be especially useful if you plan to explore Hanoi frequently or rely on ride-hailing services. Additionally, the area around the hotel has no shortage of dining options. You will find many restaurants and small eateries right at the doorstep, which makes it easy to grab a meal at almost any time without having to travel far. However, like many mid-range hotels in Southeast Asia, the Sen Grand Hotel & Spa does have some shortcomings. The most noticeable issue is the water pressure during showers. Guests who prefer strong water flow may find the shower experience somewhat underwhelming, especially during peak hours. While this is not a severe flaw, it does impact the overall comfort level of the stay and may be something to keep in mind if consistent hot water and strong pressure are important to you. Aside from the water pressure, there are no major defects or serious problems with the hotel. The rooms are generally clean, the basic amenities function as expected, and the service is acceptable for a hotel in this price range. It may not offer the refined details or higher-end comfort that travelers would expect from a four-star hotel in China, but it does provide a practical and reasonably comfortable place to stay if your expectations are aligned with local standards. In terms of atmosphere, the hotel strikes a balance between simplicity and functionality. It does not deliver a luxurious experience, but it also does not fall short in any critical area. For travelers who prioritize convenience, accessibility, and basic comfort over premium facilities, this hotel meets the needs sufficiently. Overall, if you have alternative choices, you may consider comparing your options, especially if you are looking for amenities that match Chinese four-star standards more closely. However, if your choices are limited or you simply need a decent, reliable place to stay in Hanoi without major concerns, the Sen Grand Hotel & Spa is a reasonable option. It offers a straightforward experience that fulfills the essential requirements of a short or medium-length stay.

The room decor is a bit dated, but it's well-maintained. The twin room felt a bit small because of the beds, and I was slightly disappointed there was no bathtub, as previous stays at this hotel always had one. This is a standard large hotel, featuring a swimming pool, gym, and spa. The buffet restaurant also meets typical large hotel standards, offering a rich variety of Western, Japanese, and Vietnamese cuisine. I've always been very satisfied.

The room was a large suite, though the interior decor felt a bit dated, like something from 10-20 years ago. However, it was maintained quite neatly and cleanly. The service was very good, and breakfast was decent. I mainly chose this hotel because the suite had a washing machine, but it also seemed quite old, and the dryer function wasn't very effective. The area around the hotel is currently undergoing a lot of demolition and new construction, so the immediate surroundings aren't very appealing.

Overall service rendered is good. Both Lisa and Sunny are very warm and helpful. Location of hotel can be identified easily as it is very near to the old St Joseph Cathedral. Hotel facility is a little aged, for example, the flexible shower head, we did encounter a little difficulty to use. Room is a little small and room has only one lugguage rack cum sofa seating bench. For us, we have 2pcs of lugguages and one of them will need to be put on top of writing desk to be opened up. As a transit hotel in our overall tour, this hotel is great. Breakfast is reasonably good too.

Hanoi Paon Hotel & Spa is fine overall. It’s worth staying here if you get a good price, but it doesn’t really feel worth it at a higher rate. The breakfast is nice with a good selection and was one of the better parts of the stay. The view, especially from higher floors or the rooftop, is pleasant and adds to the experience. The hotel is comfortable enough and well located in the Old Quarter, but nothing particularly stands out. Overall, a decent option if the price is right, otherwise there are better choices in Hanoi for the money.

Staff was top notch! Everyone was so attentive and helpful! We got the airport shuttle service 2x (pick-up/drop-off) and it was stellar service. Laundry service (for extra fee) is also a big plus, our clothes were fresh and perfectly perfumed and packaged. Breakfast was very good and they even provided us some delicious takeaway sandwiches for our mega early flight in the morning. We had an upgrade the first night for free to try a room with a balcony. Both the upgraded room and our originally booked room were cozy, clean and comfortable, with a great air conditioning to escape the crazy Hanoi heat. The hotel also has motorcycles to rent for 10€ a day, which was super convenient. Overall great experience, would highly recommend for anyone going to Hanoi.

overall cleanliness is above average, There are just a couple of things to highlight on cleanliness: the shower head is filled with water stain fungal which I can't stand. otherwise, those around the bathtub have black stains I can accept it. Another thing is that the room smells stale when I first walk in, showing that the room has not been occupied for a while. they could spray the air freshener before our stay.

Great value in the heart of the Old Quarter! I recently stayed at Hanoi Nostalgia Hotel and Spa and had a very solid experience. Overall, the hotel offers very good value for the price, especially considering its prime spot in the Old Quarter. The Rooms & Noise: The rooms were pretty clean, though definitely smaller than they look in the pictures. Since the hotel is centrally located, it is fairly noisy outside; however, the hotel is clearly aware of this and provides earplugs in the room, which was a very helpful touch for a better night's sleep. Breakfast & Service: The buffet breakfast was ok—standard/average for what you’d expect. What really made the stay, though, was the excellent staff. They were incredibly professional and welcoming throughout my visit. Verdict: If you want to be right in the action of the Old Quarter and appreciate great service, this is a fantastic budget-friendly choice. Just be prepared for a cozy room size!

Very good location in the Old Quarter, and hugely helpful and welcoming staff. The only minus is the relatively airless room we had (despite its having a window). This is due to the building being very enclosed by its neighbours, so getting airflow through the room is pretty impossible. Thank you to the team for accommodating us so thoughtfully. The bed was clean and fresh, and housekeeping provided coffee and two bottles of water every day, which was a nice touch. Breakfast was okay overall, although the chicken dishes and boiled eggs weren’t quite to our taste. One thing to note is that the hotel is located along a small street, so cars and Grab pickups can’t reach the entrance directly. Guests with luggage may need to walk a short distance. The reception staff were always warm and welcoming, the house keeping worked well with cleaning the room while I was out and around my schedule and the kitchen staff at breakfast were really lovely, especially Phomg, I hope I've spelled that correctly. Every morning, he would greet me with a warm welcome and assist me with finding a lovely seat at breakfast. He quite quickly learned my orders and would always have my coffer waiting at my table and order my omelette for me, which was really sweet. The service there was great. The location is just a short walk, maybe 13 mins to Old Quarters. One thing I'd say needs an update is the gym. Overall, Rex Hotel Hanoi offers a comfortable stay in a very convenient location — right in the heart of the Old Quarter, surrounded by great food, cafes, and local shops. One thing to note, though, is the shower area. It’s built over a bathtub, and getting in and out requires quite a high step. This could be tricky and even a little unsafe for older guests or children. Adding some handle bars for support would make a big difference in safety and comfort. Am surprise they actually had a pool in the building, though it is not very big. Breakfast had a better than expected selection for such a small boutique hotel. We booked and paid for three suite rooms with balconies, but only got two. The hotel feels old and cramped. We expected a proper 4-star experience but left disappointed—many 3-star hotels offer better value in both price and quality. Beds were rock-hard, towels had lost their whiteness, and each room only had two pillows. Rooms were also smaller than pictured in the booking app. Location is great, but our rooms were only accessible via elevator from the 3rd floor. Breakfast had limited choices. On the plus side, the rooms were cleaned regularly. The best part was the staff—especially Jerry, who let us check in early for free during heavy rain. We had planned to leave our bags at the tiny lobby (only a two-seater sofa) and explore, but his gesture convinced us to stay. Sadly, the next day the manager said we had to pay for the early check-in, which felt like a scam 😂. We still tipped Jerry generously for his kindness. They also helped us arrange airport transport, and we kept asking for the receipt (sorry, staff!) because we didn’t want a repeat of the early check-in issue. Note: If you want a luxury stay, this isn’t the place. Our 4-star hotel in Sapa was far better—and cheaper too.

Let's start with the positives: The hotel's location is excellent, less than 100 meters walk to Hoan Kiem Lake. Downstairs, there are Vietnamese restaurants, snack shops, and services like 'Emperor's Head Wash' (a type of head massage/hair wash) and spas. The service is also great; the staff help with luggage and open doors for you. The downsides are that the hotel is quite small and the facilities are a bit old, especially the bed, which has two protruding wooden planks that kept getting reattached.

This business hotel offers exceptional value for money. The room was clean, tidy, and odor-free, and the bed was so soft I slept soundly. The hot water and air conditioning worked perfectly, and the soundproofing was also quite good. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient with the check-in process. The location is very convenient for getting around and finding places to eat. For just eighty yuan, this experience was incredibly comfortable and well worth it.

1. The hotel couldn't find our booking, so we had to contact Trip.com customer service, which delayed us by 25 minutes. 2. There were black spots on the toilet that wiped off with tissue paper, proving it hadn't been cleaned. 3. I booked a deluxe twin room, but they gave me a standard queen room with an interior window, which was much smaller. 4. The breakfast was quite good.

The hotel's location is great, perfect for a city walk in Hanoi. It's very close to the famous Train Street, and the soundproofing is decent. However, the cleanliness is just average, partly due to the hotel's maintenance. The biggest issue is the bathtub being too high; you need a small stool to get in and out, and I was quite worried about slipping. On the other hand, the hotel service is pretty good; staff always open the door for you when you enter and exit, and they help with luggage.

I stayed at this hotel alone, and overall, I had a great experience. The staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming throughout my stay, always ready to assist with a smile. The room was clean and well-maintained, and I appreciated the attention to detail in terms of cleanliness and comfort. The only downside was the surrounding area. While the hotel itself was spotless, the sidewalk outside was under renovation during my visit, making the approach a bit messy and less appealing. However, this seems like a temporary issue and shouldn’t be a long-term concern. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend this hotel—especially once the nearby construction is completed.

Rich is very good. You can walk to the tourist spots. It's one block away from the main road, so I think it's still quiet. The front desk staff spoke English, which was reassuring. The room was very humid, perhaps because the window was small or because of the building, and the bed felt damp. I think the sheets were smooth. There was no bathtub, but there was only water, so I washed while it was getting cold. Sometimes hot water came out in the morning, but it was hot and cold. The sink didn't drain well, so it took a while for it to drain. The hair dryer had a good airflow. There were spider webs in the corners of the room. There were also centipedes. The breakfast was very good. You can also eat pho. I had a sandwich, but it was delicious.

My family members had change of plan and i ended up using the room myself.  At first instance the room look clean but it has a distinct smell of cockroach. I checked in quite abruptly and didnt think much as there’s no sighting When i returned to the room late at night i realised there were dots on the shower cubicle flooring as well as ON ONE SIDE of queen size bed. I was too tired and decided to clean off those droppings with my wet wipe and sleep on the other end of the queen size bed. It was then i sighted an adult roach near the bedside table. I used the other super single bed to rest as i was really too tired. Next morning i reflected this issue to the receptionist . The hotel's quilt is very thin, so thin that it can't even be called a quilt. It should be called a quilt cover. It feels like you are covering yourself with a quilt cover. The room was very damp and dusty, making it very uncomfortable. However, the price was cheap and it was located in the heart of the old city. Since we arrived on a late flight and only needed to stay one night, we had to leave early in the morning. I came back around 3 pm and the front desk helped me with my baggage. I thought that was really nice of them to do. The bed was comfortable. It was fine! The hotel room was pretty decent. We stayed at the “connecting room” which looked more like a small one bedroom flat that they turned into a two bedroom by placing an extra bed next to the dining table. There was a kitchenette and a terrace that overlooked the sky bars around the area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. it is old but still very functional. There is no sound proofing so you can hear the people next door and the noisy commutes. I wish they offered it cheaper but we came on the peak season. First off, the hotel is located in the Old Quarter, north of Hoan Kiem Lake. As you might know, the Old Quarter is a bustling area with narrow streets, constantly crowded with cars, motorbikes, and people all day long. The moment you step out of the hotel, you're greeted by a massive crowd and endless options for entertainment, activities, and food. Being right in the heart of Hanoi's tourist district, most attractions are within walking distance. All the buildings here are old; it is, after all, the old town. (If you're expecting a modern hotel, you should look into the French Quarter in the south.) Despite that, the hotel and rooms were surprisingly quiet. While it might vary by room, the suite I stayed in on the 7th floor (the top floor, with the 8th floor being the restaurant) was small, but the balcony was incredibly spacious, much larger than I expected, which was fantastic. As a smoker, it felt like heaven. Check out the balcony photo! ^^) Prices might be a bit on the higher side for Vietnam, but considering the prime location, I saved a lot on Grab/taxi fares. Plus, the 8th-floor restaurant, which serves breakfast, is decent enough – you can easily verify its quality by searching it on Google Maps. Surprisingly, most guests were Caucasian rather than Asian, which I personally appreciated for the quiet atmosphere. Lastly, the staff seemed mostly young, but they were quite friendly. The welcome drink was a nice touch, the luggage storage service was excellent, and their recommendations for local attractions were helpful. I also asked them to arrange a taxi to the airport on my last day, and it was a smooth ride (it can be difficult to get a Grab on weekend evenings in this area, so I asked the front desk, and they arranged a large taxi for almost the same price as a Grab, which was very impressive. T_T_T_T). In short, I recommend this hotel to anyone who can truly appreciate the advantages of staying in a Hanoi Old Quarter hotel. However, this place is definitely not suitable for young children or family trips. I didn't see a single child during my entire stay, and I wouldn't bring my own kids to this area either. It's more suited for solo travelers, couples, or small groups of adults. If you've read reviews complaining about not getting any sleep due to the noise until dawn in the Old Quarter, right in the middle of the bustling area, I'd suggest you do a bit more research on Hanoi. There's plenty of information on the internet and YouTube these days! ^^ Anyway, I just wanted to jot this down at the airport before leaving Hanoi, hoping it helps you make an informed decision.

It was on the 5th floor, but there was no view. I paid the upcharge to get to a higher floor. The shower room leaked badly from the gap and water flowed into the toilet. Enough of the unfortunate story. You can get to the hotel by bus number 86 from the airport. There are tourist attractions and historical sites within walking distance of the hotel. There is a lot of traffic, so it may be a good idea to use a ride-hailing app, but it's only for the initial ride. The best thing about this hotel is the breakfast. Great location in the heart of old quarter. The room was clean and tidy. However there was no space to put your luggage/bags as the room was so tiny. We had to put them on the floor at the end of the bed, which left little floor space. The bathroom was very small. If you are very tall your knees will lean against the wall while you’re on the toilet. The shower and basin were a little crammed into a small space. The air conditioning in the room is very old. It is very noisy at night. There is a bath in the bathroom. The hotel can be bathed. The younger sister at the front desk is very good at English. The overall price is reasonable. The room with more than 100 RMB is OK.

The room was super nice and spacious and we loved it when we got there. Later in the evening we found many cockroaches in our bathroom and that was scary (for us. )The hotel staff was very nice, they came to help us and they even changed our room. The breakfast was very good, the swimming pool on the rooftop was ok, it felt a little bit cold that day we were there though! The location is also good , since it is inside the old quarter, many shops and coffee shops nearby.

The room had cockroaches and small mosquitoes. The toiletries were on par with those found in a Chinese guesthouse from 10-20 years ago – tiny sachets of shampoo and shower gel. There was a musty smell in the room, and the soundproofing was virtually nonexistent. It got noisy starting around 6 AM, but earplugs solved that. Considering the price, my expectations weren't high to begin with.

My stay at Hanoi Lion Boutique Hotel was truly amazing. As it was my first time in Vietnam, I really appreciated how welcoming and helpful the staff were from the moment I arrived. They provided great recommendations and helpful information about attractions like Train Street and the incense village, which made exploring Hanoi much easier. The room was spotless and very comfortable. I also had breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel restaurant and every meal was excellent. Every staff member, from the front desk to the restaurant team and housekeepers was friendly and professional. The location is also perfect, within walking distance of Train Street, the Old Quarter and other main attractions. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Hanoi.

All the staff were excellent, and it is very clean. The breakfast is good. The location is in the Old Quarter and is convenient for walking to many other attractions, too. It's down an alleyway and not on one of the main streets. My room was a bit cold, especially in the evenings and on the last night but the air conditioning didn't make it warmer. Even though I set it at 30C the air coming out was about the same as the room temperature, so it didn't make any difference. On the last night I saw a bug in the bathroom at about 02:00 when I got up to use the bathroom. I stayed there for four nights and didn't see any other bugs.

The room isn't huge but it's spacious enough. The shower works well, though you have to hold the toilet flush for a few seconds. There's a small fridge, perfect for storing the fried spring rolls and desserts I bought. Breakfast is served for a long period and offers a great variety, including Vietnamese fried rice, fried noodles, Swiss rolls, pancakes, and excellent soft-boiled eggs. The fresh fruit daily is also a highlight, especially the delicious bananas and mangoes. The location is super convenient for getting around; it's not far from the night market, shopping areas, or Hoan Kiem Lake. There's also a restaurant called 'Little Something' on the same street that makes amazing beef spring rolls. Plus, the lady at the front desk speaks some Chinese, which is a big bonus!

The staff in this hotel were excellent! From welcoming us with some welcome drinks and fruit, to politely going through our booking details with us (as there was a mix up about payment) and even looking after our bags for a night (as we spent one evening in a village a little way out from Hanoi and returned to the hotel the day after). Of course the rooms, cleanliness and breakfast were also fantastic - and the only reason for rating the location as a 4 is owing to the fact that as it is centrally located in the Old Town, it can get quite noisy at night. In fairness, the hotel accomodated this by ensuring guests were placed in rooms further away from the noisy street (and with double windows), but it is something to bear in mind. We didnt mind of course - you cant expect to be in the midst of it all, and at the same time expect pure silence!

Breakfast is small, so you may eat outside. There are many restaurants, massages, souvenir shops, etc. near the hotel. Very convenient. There is no problem with housekeeping and staff support. Our stay here was indeed enjoyable. We checked in around after 10pm and the receptionist, Anne (I believe that’s her name) greeted us so warmly. It took no more than 5 minutes to get checked in. She even volunteered to carry our luggage, which really wasn’t necessary as they weren’t that heavy and we could manage it ourselves. She went above an beyond. The breakfast at the hotel was a la carte and you had about 6-7 options, if I remember correctly. I only ever tried the French toast (which needs a little more work), omelette and crepe - chocolate and banana which were both amazingly delicious. Although the hotel is located in the busy heart of Old Quarter, it was not noisy at all. You can sleep peacefully with no worries of being woken up by terrible sounds. Overall the hotel is pretty clean. A few days before checking out we had the electricity from our room cut off twice. Which was pretty annoying as with no ac the rooms are pretty hot, you will sweat. It was an overall very good experience. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are nicely decorated. I didn’t get any photos of the room or the hotel itself. You can walk to practically everything. The hotel however, will assist at all times if you need a grabcar, food delivery and such. In the pictures you will see the crepe, their house-made yogurt (made fresh everyday), the hotel helped us order a meal which they highly recommended and the only photo of the hotel that I own.

The hotel's location is so-so, far from major attractions, but the room rate is cheap. When checking out, I forgot my watch and my wife's scarf at the hotel. When I remembered and returned to retrieve them, the staff told me they only found the scarf, not the watch. Furthermore, the location where they said they found the scarf was clearly incorrect, as my wife and I both clearly remembered where we put the scarf and the watch, as we forgot them when we were in a rush to get a taxi. The staff lied and refused to admit seeing my watch, and I had no recourse. I hope everyone will be wary of this hotel.

It's within walking distance from the airport. I arrived past 1 AM, pushing my luggage in the stuffy heat for about ten minutes – it was pretty convenient. The next day, I planned to take a taxi to the airport, but it was so cool outside that I just walked instead. It's really good for layovers. The only thing is that Trip.com said check-out was at 11 AM, but when I got to the front desk, they told me it was 10 AM. While that one hour didn't make a huge difference, it would be better if the information was consistent. Also, they offer an airport transfer service. I forget the exact price, but it was probably about three times more expensive than Grab, though I can't quite remember. At least with their service, you don't have to wait for a car. It wasn't a lot of money overall.

If you're looking for an affordable option for a layover, this hotel is decent. However, it's generally not very clean. The bathroom and toilet are combined, and there's a large, unscreened hole in the wall for the water heater pipes, which allows insects in. I had trouble with mosquitoes. For the airport transfer, I contacted the hotel in advance through the Trip.com app. After collecting my luggage and exiting the airport, I emailed them (via the Trip.com app using English words) the pillar number where I was waiting, and they arrived quickly. I wore bright clothing and told them the color of my clothes and suitcase, which seemed to help them find me easily. The one-way airport transfer cost 600 yen.

I rented this place on Airbnb from August 22–31, 2025, room 602. Everything was cool. It wasn’t perfect, but I loved this place until I left food on the kitchen counter… and you probably guessed it, the next thing I knew, there was an army of ants. They were coming from under the silicone, which wasn’t completely sealed near the sink. The owner offered me to put some ant killer, but at this point, after seeing 100+ ants, there was no way I was staying. And every exterminator will tell you that you don’t kill ants just by putting down some product, you have to find the source/nest. Anyway, Airbnb contacted the owner and offered me a 50% refund for the remaining unstayed nights, which was a take it or leave it kind of deal, so I agreed. If I’m not mistaken, there were 5 nights left. This was my first time using Airbnb, so I have no idea if the owner/Airbnb could have done better. I’m not the type to leave a bad review (a.k.a. 1 star) even after a bad experience unless i really have to,, but to be honest, a 100% full refund would have kept my mouth shut. In the end, I guess this is good for the community, and I hope this was the first time they were aware of it, because if they knew and didn’t hire an exterminator, that’s another story.

We arrived early in the morning and were told at the front desk that check-in was at 2 PM. When we came back at that time, they said check-in was at 3 PM, but offered an earlier check-in if we left a review on Google Maps. So, we left a review. They gave us a room that wasn't even in the photos of the 'Superior Suite' we booked. This room had no windows and a strange ceiling; it was just a bare wall. Of course, all the other decent rooms with windows were occupied, and we could only switch to a 'neon' room. It was okay, the renovation was good, and there was a TV, but no windows – it felt like a crypt. You couldn't tell what time of day it was, and it lacked all the interesting features shown in the photos of other rooms. They should have separate bookings for each room. Why mislead guests?

Personale gentile e disponibile.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a very pleasant stay at La Mandarina Hotel during my trip to Hanoi. The location is excellent and one of the hotel’s biggest strengths. Being in the heart of the Old Quarter made it very easy to explore Hanoi on foot, and I especially enjoyed the lively atmosphere during the weekends when the surrounding streets were closed to traffic. When I first checked in, there was a minor issue with my room assignment, but the staff handled it professionally and resolved it within a few minutes. I appreciated how efficiently they managed the situation. The staff throughout my stay were friendly, welcoming, and spoke English very well, which made communication easy and comfortable. Best place to stay. But grab cannot send you to the front door. You need to walk from the main road to the homestay in less than 2 minutes. The room was just nice to accommodate 2 people. They have all the amenities - microwave, washing machine with dryer, kitchen refrigerator. The staff are also very helpful, when the grab driver cannot locate the place they assist us until we can find the homestay. A bit secluded. But we really enjoyed our stay here. Walking distance to the main road if you would like to take public transport (bus & metro). For Muslim there a one halal restaurant nearby 15-20 minutes walk from the homestay. Hanoi Halal Restaurant - an authentic Vietnamese restaurant can accommodate 200pax. They also got a prayer room

We had a nice stay at Amira Hotel. The room was clean. All amenities are provided. The breakfast was basic but the price of the hotel itself is cheap. We were shocked to discover that our room had breakfast included. The area is also near the bar street and several michelin restaurants.  I commend the staff they were very hospitable and helpful. When our flight got delayed. I called them through the trip app to inform them and we made last minute transportation arrangements thru the phone. Our room was not cleaned during the 2nd day because it was already 3pm in the afternoon and they have not yet cleaned the 7th floor rooms and we already went out of the hotel since 10am. But it was not an issue because the room was clean.  Check in and check out verification was so fast. Aircon is centralized so you can ask the frontdesk to lower the temperature of the AC if you feel the room is hot. Overall will recommend and come back to this hotel soon.

I stayed at this hotel for almost two weeks and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. The hotel had opened only a few weeks before my arrival, so everything was brand new and spotlessly clean. I noticed improvements being made every day, but they never interfered with my stay. The location is fantastic – directly across the road from Lotte Mall West Lake, just a few hundred metres from West Lake (Ho Tay) itself, and only a few steps away from a great variety of local eateries. Staying for such a long period gave me the opportunity to experience many aspects of hotel life and interact with the staff on numerous occasions. Whether it was upgrading my room, extending my stay, ordering breakfast, or using the laundry service, the staff were always helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The breakfast was another highlight of my stay. The selection was good, and I quickly got into the habit of recharging every morning with a bowl of delicious Pho Ga before heading out for the day. I'd especially like to thank receptionist To Uyen (Lizzy) for looking after us throughout our stay. Thank you so much, Lizzy! P.S. When we arrived, the elevator wasn't working, and our room with a window was on the 6th floor. My wife and I couldn't climb that many stairs. They switched us to a room without a window, but it was stuffy and smelled like a sauna. There was mold on the ceiling, but at least the floor and bed were clean, so that was something. The reception staff treated us well, apologized for the elevator, and fulfilled our requests or at least tried to. They didn't clean our room once in 3 nights, even though I asked after the first night, and they said 'okay,' they didn't need the key because they had one. But in the evening when we returned, we only found clean towels by the door. The inside wasn't cleaned, and they said they didn't have the key. However, after we raised the issue, the trash and everything else were removed. The hot water in the bathroom was good. For amenities, they provided disposable toothbrushes, combs, soap, shampoo, toilet paper, etc.

What made me unhappy and inconvenient, the reasons I gave two stars for amenties are as follows: 1) toilet - clean yes, but the water pump is top strong and inconvenient to press, feel like I am pressing a broken handle water pump. 2) trash bin - in the toilet, it is difficult to push down the cover, too strong, so always ended up touching my hand with the cover where most of the trashed from the toilet were in contact with while pushing down. In the room, the cover, always need to use hands to remove the cover. 3) Electricity plug sockets - should have at least two free, one each by each bed. But what we had to use is the one for TV plug, the one for night light bulb (between the bed). Only one free socket by the mirror in the bedroom. So very inconvenience for two persons to charge our phones or laptops.

This is an older five-star hotel. My friend booked it for me when I was on a business trip. The price has gone up now, it's over 100 more expensive than before. I'm not sure if it's due to the season or if prices have generally increased. I heard the breakfast is really good. It's located in District 5, next to An Dong Market, and there's not much to explore around there.

A beautiful and well-maintained 5* hotel with a storied history, situated in the heart of District 1. It's walking distance from most things in D1 (Ben Thanh Market, Saigon Square, Opera House) and is right in the middle of the more luxury sector of the district. The staff are always professional and very helpful, the rooms are amazing for a great price and the dining experiences are top-notch. I always enjoy staying here when I'm in Ho Chi Minh City.

Had a wonderful stay at MAI HOUSE Saigon Hotel! The hotel was very clean, peaceful, and comfortable throughout our stay. The room service food arrived quickly and tasted great. Location was also very convenient — close to many attractions and only around 3 minutes walking distance to a convenience store. Even though it’s centrally located, the hotel was still quiet and relaxing at night. The staff were friendly and helpful as well. Would definitely stay here again when visiting Ho Chi Minh City!

The hotel is located right in the city center, but it’s a relatively low-rise building with only about 5–6 floors. When you open the window, you can see the river outside. Overall, the hotel is very clean, and the bed sheets are changed daily. The only downside is that the bathroom is quite old, and the shower is inside the bathtub, so you have to stand in the tub when showering. What I liked most was the rooftop bar—it’s a really nice place to relax. The staff are all very kind and friendly. We stayed in one room with three people, and they thoughtfully provided an extra bed for us. That level of service made the stay well worth it. By the way, the breakfast was just average. We stayed for four days, and the selection was pretty much the same every day, with very little variety.

Pros: amazingly delicious buffet breakfast from western to asian cuisines. Delicious food and always fresh seasonal fruits. Menu changes daily. Their Triple Roomnis quiet spacious with bonggavillas on window sills. Room is cleaned and linens changed on a daily basis. Bar at the rooftop with jacuzzis and spa pool which added to the zen vibes. Lobby is dimly lighted but just enough to light the way which I think uphholds to its ZEN vibes. The location is superb. Next to it are spas for hair, nails, massage and 3 mins walk right through ben thanh market, saigon square, saigon center. 10 mins walk to Notre Dame Cathedral. Easy to catch Grab. Staff are all very friendly, helpful and communicates in English well. Cons: they don't have a swimming pool as what is advertised on its amenities. It's more like a spa pool where clients can sit, dip and maybe drink some coctails while watching the night lights and relaxing with the zen environment. However, the spa pool is perfect for my 8 yo nephew. He can play, swim on the pool without us worrying that the water might be deep for him. Bath tub is high so its not good for a short elderly client who got issues with mobility. My 78 yo mom got a hard time climbing in and out of the tub as its also slippery. We finally managed by letting her sit on th edge of the tub first before putting her foot in/out of the tub and putting towel on the floor of the tub while she's showering.

The location is perfect - i often stay around that area, everything is very walkable, taxi is cheap and quick. Some cons: 1) sometimes there is a cigarette smell coming from the ventilation - some guests are smoking inside 2) i think windows should be eventually replaced to modern with a better sound insulation as there are some places with loud music nearby 3) the window lock in my bathroom was broken

1. 16sq. mtr room is marketed and sold as a 20sq.mtr room. Its basically a glorified/polished container box. There is no space even to unpack/open your luggage. This is outright fraud and cheating. 2. Air conditioning is very poor. Despite such a small room size, it takes nearly an hour for the room to reach the set temperature even if you open the door even once. The staff too has confirmed the same that it takes 30min to 1hour to reach the desired cooling after closing the room doors. 3. Air conditioning break downs frequently. We had booked 17 rooms for our a group of 34 people. 3 to 4 had broken AC. One of them shifted in the middle of the night to a new room. On complaining the first time, the engineer came and fixed the filter. However the staff blamed us for keeping the door open. On complaining again, I was assured that the staff if coming only to realize that they were lying. Had to go physically to the reception and get the room changed. They were hoping that I would sleep with the broken AC instead of taking the pain to come down to the reception. On top of that the windows don't open. You don't have any ventilation as well. 3. The doors and walls are very thin. You can hear every door closing and even the slightest noise/conversation from nearby rooms. 4. The staff is very cold and unhelpful. Despite acknowledging the known problem about the AC they try to blame the guest for keeping the doors open. How is the guest supposed to breathe with no AC and no ventilation? If you are frustrated and get angry at the staff, they threaten you to throw you out of the hotel in the middle of the night by calling the police. 5. The windows are completely transparent. The nearby bldg people can peep in to your rooms anytime and hence the curtains need to be kept drawn all the time. 6. I am vegetarian so didn't find much options in breakfast. There were some fruits but they would get finished fast and then not refilled even during valid breakfast hours. When I checked reviews of this hotel after facing the above problems, multiple guests have reported the same issues.

The hot shower works well. You can find lot of good restaurants in this area within walking distance. There's a local grocery store nearby selling variety of fresh fruits and all sorts of snacks, biscuits, beverages and etc. The downsides are the swimming pool was under maintenance during my stay and lack of variety in breakfast, just ok to fill your stomach. My third time at this hotel. Very convenient because of the location, the reception staff are very pleasant and happy to help you. The breakfast is very boring. Cheap ingredients. And the room is too small for the number of guests even though they added a room. Going down the stairs is not the most convenient. And the service lacks character, the cook does a great job and always fills in what is missing. You can see that he is professional and experienced. And he is also very friendly. But we took sandwiches for the long train ride and I must say that this was the biggest disappointment. Because I did not take a sandwich down to the kitchen for myself, because to get a sandwich from the dining room I am supposed to pay extra. Although only a few dollars, the principle is completely stupid. The sandwich I received was terrible, dry, boring, made from two slices of cheap bread, a kind of cheese leaf and a hard-boiled egg. Something really inedible. Bread that chokes you. I prefer nothing to this free nothing.

We did not have a perfect experience from this stay at Somerset HCM hence no full marks. Apartment - we were allocated a non-ideal ground floor 2 bedroom apartment facing the swimming pool, we requested for a change of room at the point of check in but were denied repeatedly. There was a pool party at the pool with a high noise level. We made a complaint, the reception then offered a room change for the next day but we declined having already unpacked & settled in. There is no pool view as we had to close the curtains throughout the stay for privacy reasons. The TV in the master bedroom was not working at all, we made a request, they repaired the TV after a long time on the second night but it was spoilt again. We gave up & did not made another request. The TV should have been checked that it is in order before allowing guests to check in. Other than these 2 negative points, the apartment was simply great. The kitchen was clean and well equipped with a washing machine, microwave and conventional ovens, crockery & kitchen utensils. The 2 bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and well equipped too. Housekeeping is great, apartment was cleaned and refreshed well daily. Location is fine. It may not be that convenient to shopping, food & places of interest but it is not a problem at all in HCM as it is so easy and affordable to take a Grab to anywhere. For info, we stayed 3 nights and paid higher than average rates for this 2 bedroom apartment.

This is a hotel of contradictions. The facade is impressive. It's centrally located in District 1 near restaurants, shops and the Western quarter. The buffet breakfast selection is pleasing. The room size is generous. Staff are friendly and helpful. There's a forward thinking eco-friendly policy which clearly implemented throughout the hotel. However, the hotel is let down by some of its facilities. For example, in the bathroom a spa has been placed under a shower head so that when you shower the water runs down the wall and floods across the bathroom floor from one side to the other and in front of the hand basin. The hot and cold water taps turn on in opposite directions and the cold tap is not fitted properly which causes it to move. My children were unable to turn the shower on or off without adult help. The shower head is also too low and my 6 foot husband had to crouch down to shower. Another problem area is the rooftop pool area. The clear rooptop pool perimeter fence is woefully too low. I watched a child climb out of the pool to the ledge between the pool and the perimeter fence and I was very worried for his safety. One wrong slip or stumble and there's nothing stopping the child from toppling over the edge and 11 floors down. This hotel has a lot going for it but also has further room for improvement.

Exceptional 7-night Family Stay – Highly Recommended! (5/5 Stars) I recently completed a wonderful 8-day stay at Sedona Suites Ho Chi Minh City with my family, and it was truly the highlight of our trip. Here is a detailed breakdown of our experience: [ Pros ] Prime Location: The hotel is perfectly situated for both sightseeing and shopping. Being connected to Saigon Centre/Takashimaya makes everything incredibly convenient. Excellent Laundry Amenities: Having a washer with a dryer function plus a drying rack in the room was a lifesaver. It completely solved our family’s laundry needs during the long stay. Breathtaking Views: We stayed on the 29th floor and above, offering stunning, bird's-eye views of the Ho Chi Minh City skyline. Perfect for Families: The Grand Room (2 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms) provided the ultimate space and privacy for our family of four. High-Quality Breakfast: The breakfast is a mix of a side buffet and made-to-order individual dishes. While the selection isn't overwhelming, the quality of the food is top-tier, and I appreciated being able to control the portion sizes. Outstanding Service: Every staff member we encountered was incredibly friendly and attentive. Great Water Pressure: The shower had excellent water pressure, which made for a very refreshing experience after a long day of exploring. [ Cons / Suggestions ] Bed Size: The beds felt a bit narrow and small for two adults to share comfortably. Upgrading to larger bed sizes would be a significant improvement. Cleaning: When cleaning the room, only the pillows were changed on the bed and the duvet from yesterday was unfolded and tidied up; in the bathroom, only the towels were replaced, and the trash can was not emptied or the toilet cleaned. I do not know if this is the hotel's policy, but no explanation was provided. Ordering: When I order for breakfast, the staff often forgets. There are also times when I have to bring the dishes myself because they aren't cleared quickly enough. I can understand this during peak seasons when they are busy and understaffed, but if the situation is the same even on days with few guests, it seems that staff training is necessary. [ Overall ] The drawbacks were very minor compared to the overwhelming number of advantages. This hotel offers world-class convenience and comfort for family travelers. I give it a full 5/5 stars and would definitely stay here again!

How Much does it Cost for Food when Traveling to Vietnam?

How much does it cost for food when traveling to Vietnam

When traveling to Vietnam, the cost of food and dining can vary widely depending on several factors such as the type of food, the restaurant's location, and the level of formality or luxury. However, Vietnam is known for its delicious and affordable street food, which is a must-try for any traveler.

  • Street food or fast food: around 20,000 to 50,000 VND (less than $2 USD) per meal.
  • Casual dining or local restaurants: around 50,000 to 150,000 VND ($2 to $6 USD) per meal.
  • Mid-range restaurants: around 200,000 to 500,000 VND ($8 to $20 USD) per meal.
  • High-end or luxury restaurants: cost upwards of 1,000,000 VND ($40 USD) per meal.

If you're on a budget, there are other affordable options for food in Vietnam. Convenience stores and supermarkets offer a variety of tasty and healthy food at reasonable prices. You can find pre-packaged meals, fresh fruits, and snacks for as low as 10,000 VND (less than $1 USD).

Tipping is not customary in Vietnam, and the prices listed above are typically the final price you will pay. However, prices can vary depending on the location and the time of year. It's always a good idea to check the menu or ask the staff about the prices before ordering.

In conclusion, Vietnam offers a wide range of food options at affordable prices. Whether you're looking for street food or fine dining, there's something for everyone. Don't forget to try the local specialties and enjoy the culinary delights of Vietnam!

How Much does it Cost for Transportation when Traveling to Vietnam?

How much does it cost for transportation when traveling to Vietnam

Local transportation in Vietnam is incredibly budget-friendly. During my travels, I found that I averaged just $10 to $15 USD per day, though your exact spending will depend on your personal travel style. Getting around within the cities via ride-hailing apps or motorbikes usually cost me as little as $1 to $5 USD per ride, while long-distance sleeper buses and trains generally ranged between $10 and $30 USD.

Getting Around the City

Ride-Hailing Apps

In my experience, using apps like Grab and Gojek is hands-down the safest, most convenient, and stress-free way to travel. You know the price upfront, which completely eliminates any language barriers or haggling.

  • Motorbike (GrabBike): $0.50 – $1.50 USD (approx. 15,000 – 30,000 VND) per ride. Perfect for solo travelers who want to zip through traffic.
  • Car (GrabCar): $1.50 – $4.00 USD (approx. 35,000 – 100,000 VND) for short trips.

Traditional Taxis

Traditional metered taxis are everywhere and easy to flag down. Base fares typically start around $0.60 – $0.80 USD. I highly recommend sticking strictly to reputable brands like Mai Linh or Vinasun to avoid the common meter-tampering scams.

Motorbike Rentals

If you are an independent traveler who loves freedom, renting your own scooter is ideal. It typically costs between $6 to $10 USD (approx. 150,000 – 300,000 VND) per day. Just make sure you are comfortable handling Vietnam's chaotic traffic!

Traveling Between Cities

Domestic Flights

When I needed to save time traveling between major hubs like Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City, I opted for budget airlines like VietJet Air or Vietnam Airlines. One-way tickets are surprisingly cheap, usually running between $30 and $80 USD.

Sleeper Buses & Trains

If you are traveling on a budget, I cannot recommend overnight sleeper buses and trains enough. They are a massive money-saver because they double as your transportation and your night's accommodation.

  • Sleeper Buses: $10 – $20 USD (reliable companies include Futa Bus or HK Buslines).
  • Sleeper Trains: $13 – $30 USD, depending on whether you opt for a basic soft seat or a shared, multi-berth cabin.

How Much does it Cost for Sightseeing when Traveling to Vietnam?

How much does it cost for sightseeing when traveling to Vietnam

One of my favorite things about traveling through Vietnam is how incredibly budget-friendly the sightseeing is. If you are exploring independently, individual entrance fees generally range from just $1 to $12 USD per attraction. However, if you prefer fully organized experiences, day tours, or scenic cruises, I recommend budgeting between $25 and $60 USD per day for guided excursions.

Depending on your personal travel style, you can easily mix and match these options to keep your budget exactly where you want it.

Individual Attraction Entrance Fees

When I wanted to explore on my own, I found that many cultural and historical sites charged very low entry fees, which usually go directly toward local conservation efforts.

  • Museums & Historical Sites: Typically $1 to $3 USD. For example, buying a ticket to the historic Temple of Literature in Hanoi cost me around $1.20 USD (30,000 VND), while entering the Cu Chi Tunnels near Ho Chi Minh City ran about $5 USD (110,000 VND).
  • Temples & Pagodas: I noticed that a vast majority of these spiritual sites are completely free to enter, though it is always nice to leave a small cash donation.
  • Ancient Towns & Heritage Sites: Walking through the heritage areas of Hoi An Ancient Town requires a flat entry ticket of about $5 USD (120,000 VND), while a self-guided trip to the My Son Sanctuary ruins costs around $6 USD (150,000 VND).

Guided Tours & Excursions

For days when I wanted someone else to handle the logistics or dive deep into the local culture, I opted for structured tours. The pricing varies quite a bit depending on how specialized the activity is:

  • Street Food Tours: $20 to $45 USD per person. I highly recommend doing one of these—whether on foot or on the back of a local's motorbike, they include tons of food stops and are worth every penny.
  • Half or Full-Day City Tours: $30 to $70 USD per person. The price usually fluctuates based on whether you join a large group bus or hire a private local guide.
  • Cooking Classes & Artisanal Workshops: $25 to $50 USD per person. Great for learning how to replicate authentic Vietnamese flavors back home.
  • Ha Long Bay Cruises: For a standard-to-mid-range day trip or an overnight cruise, I found prices typically range from $30 to $60+ USD per person. (Keep in mind that luxury, multi-day cruise experiences will cost significantly more).
  • Trekking & Eco-Tours (e.g., Sapa): $90 to $200 USD per person. These are pricier because they usually span multiple days and include local homestays, meals, and specialized mountain guides.

How Much does it Cost for Wi-Fi & Communication when Traveling to Vietnam?

How much does it cost for Wi-Fi & communication when traveling to Vietnam

Keeping connected during my travels in Vietnam has always been incredibly affordable. I typically spend anywhere from $4.50 for a week of mobile data to around $10 for a massive, monthly tourist SIM package. Plus, I rarely have issues finding free, reliable Wi-Fi, as almost every cafe, hotel, and restaurant offers it.

Based on my firsthand experience, here are the best ways to get online and what you can expect to pay:

1. eSIM (My Top Recommendation for Convenience)

Whenever I want to hit the ground running, I choose an eSIM. They are the easiest option because I can buy and activate the plan right on my phone before my flight lands, completely bypassing the need to swap physical plastic cards.

  • My Cost: Usually $4.50 to $15, depending on the data limits and how long I'm staying.
  • My Go-To Providers: I regularly use Airalo or Nomad for budget-friendly, Vietnam-specific data bundles.

2. Local Physical SIM Card (The Best Overall Value)

If your phone doesn't support eSIMs, or if you simply prefer a local phone number for making calls, picking up a physical prepaid card is your best bet.

  • My Cost: Around $5 to $12 for a 30-day package that typically loads you up with an incredible 3GB to 5GB of data per day, plus local calling minutes.
  • My Network Tip: I highly recommend Viettel because it consistently gives me the strongest network coverage across rural areas and mountain passes. Vinaphone and Mobifone are also solid choices.
  • Where I Buy Them: I always buy directly from official carrier kiosks at the airport or their flagship stores downtown to get the real rates. Note: Since local laws require every SIM to be linked to a real person, make sure you have your passport ready for them to scan at registration.

3. Pocket Wi-Fi Rental

When I travel with a larger group of friends or need to connect multiple devices like my laptop and tablet simultaneously, renting a portable Wi-Fi hotspot is a great alternative.

  • My Cost: Generally averages about $6 to $9 per day (just keep in mind you'll need to leave a refundable device deposit upfront).

4. International Roaming

Before I completely switch over to local options, I always double-check my home carrier's international policies. Some providers offer affordable daily travel passes.
