The hotel lobby is very spacious and modern; you can feel its high-end atmosphere as soon as you walk in. The front desk staff were warm and professional, and check-in was very quick, giving a very welcoming impression. I particularly liked the room's decor, which was simple yet elegant, and the facilities were excellent. The bed was comfortable, I slept soundly, and the room environment was clean and quiet, providing a very comfortable space for relaxation.
The hotel's dining was also superb. Breakfast offered a rich and healthy variety, with the fresh fruit and local Nanjing snacks being particularly impressive. It's also worth mentioning that the hotel's gym was great, well-equipped and perfect for unwinding after a busy day of work.

We chose to stay at Jinling Hotel before the Golden Week holidays to avoid the crowds. This established hotel, with its 37 floors, truly excels in the details of its service. From the Jinling Food Court in the basement to the first-floor buffet breakfast, the Michelin-starred Plum Garden on the second floor, and the executive lounge on the 57th floor overlooking the Asia-Pacific region, guests can savor all of Jinling's culinary delights without ever leaving the building. Our room was on a high floor of the Jinling Tower, which had cashmere carpets throughout. Initially, the scent was quite strong, but surprisingly, after my body adapted, I couldn't detect any particular smell anymore – quite a magical experience! The Trip.com package included a historical tour of the hotel and a Qipao photoshoot. After feeling tired from listening and posing, we could just head straight back up to our room to rest. This was much less strenuous than an outdoor shoot or a guided tour, allowing us to deeply experience the charm of Jinling. It's especially suitable for families with elderly parents or young children. Although we've dined at Plum Garden in previous years, this time, after it earned its Michelin star, they had a record of all the registered salted ducks, and each diner could even get the number of the duck they were eating. Last year, we specifically went to the Shangri-La for afternoon tea. This time, after coming down from Zijin Mountain, my mom was too tired to walk another step, so she went back to the room for a nap. We then headed straight to the 57th-floor executive lounge. Enjoying a pot of Yuhua tea, overlooking Jiming Temple, Xuanwu Lake, Nanjing University, and the Zifeng Tower, watching the sunset and chatting for an entire afternoon was incredibly pleasant. A single day felt as long as two, which is how travel should be – slow and unhurried. I stayed at this hotel during my recent trip to Nanjing for a conference hosted by the Provincial Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, primarily due to its convenient location. While the hotel appears to have been around for a while, my overall experience was absolutely fantastic! The service and facilities truly went above and beyond typical five-star standards, completely exceeding my expectations.
To my surprise, the room even came equipped with a massage chair – a real lifesaver! After a long day of exploring, sinking into it just melted all my fatigue away. And get this: the toiletries were JURLIQUE! Many genuinely five-star hotels don't even offer such a luxurious provision. During turn-down service, they thoughtfully provided fresh, seasonal fruit and mung bean porridge. Each bite of the fruit was wonderfully sweet and refreshing, truly showcasing the hotel's exceptional care and attention.
The attention to detail was simply impeccable. They provided everything from mouthwash to dental floss, and even offered two types of slippers – woven bamboo and cotton. In summer, the bamboo ones were naturally cooler, which was such a thoughtful touch!
Next time I'm in Nanjing, I'm definitely staying here again! And I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting the city – you absolutely can't go wrong with this choice!From€49

The hotel was excellent in all aspects. The location was bustling and convenient, and there was an authentic barbecue restaurant right downstairs. We even caught the Scottish Cup Final, which had a great atmosphere, and we somehow ended up rooting for Taizhou (a Chinese city, likely a misremembered or placeholder name in the context of the Scottish Cup).
The reason I'm deducting two stars for service needs clarification: the front desk, concierge, housekeeping, and restaurant staff were all impeccable. The two points were specifically for the gym reception staff. They were dressed in casual clothes, playing with a tennis ball while interacting with guests. Throughout the entire conversation, they kept bouncing the tennis ball on the reception counter. There was absolutely no professionalism, and their language was stiff, making for a very poor experience. This was a significant drop in standards compared to other departments in the hotel, lowering the overall rating and dragging down the good work of the other staff.

Stayed for 2 nights but had issues with the air con. I can read Chinese , adjusted the thermostat to 17deg, cool , at both manual and automatic settings but they remained a constant 23-24deg which was quite warm for us.
Noise
The cars in Nanjing will honk the entire day (and I mean it) , it's very different from Shanghai. Front of the hotel is a 1 way street and cars are always honking from day to late night as there will always be someone who decides to stop their vehicle... , so if you have a room facing the road like we did (and we were on one if the highest level), that might be a deal breaker

Well equipped. Don't think it belongs to the hotel and it's unmanned at the reception. Anyone from the public can take a lift up and enter . I hope th e hotel considers installing a card scanner, only allowing guests to enter.

First, let's talk about the exterior. There was water all over the parking area in front of the lobby entrance, almost as if it were deliberately placed there. Different people might see it differently, but I found it quite unpleasant. Since I arrived in the morning and it was still early, I went to the restroom on the first floor when I checked my luggage at the lobby. The floor under the sink and around the toilet was also covered in water. I even thought someone had urinated outside the toilet at first, but when I washed my hands, I realized it was just water everywhere. I wondered why there was so much water, and then the cleaning staff from the men's restroom opposite came in and started mopping the floor directly. That really opened my eyes. The hotel's location and views are great, and transportation is convenient. The housekeeping staff was excellent, which was the only good impression I had. They promptly removed the trash I left outside the door. I had high hopes for breakfast and even woke up early to go to the 45th floor for the view and a meal. However, due to some shift allocation issue, three servers were arguing right behind my seat until I had to say, 'Could you please take your discussion elsewhere? It's very noisy.' Later, two servers left, and I was at seat C1. The server in the area to my left was cleaning up, throwing cutlery into the storage bin with loud, forceful, and noisy clanging sounds. The entire breakfast experience was very poor. The hotel's hardware itself isn't particularly different from others. What we look for in a hotel stay is comfort, at least not to be upset or affected. I brought my sister here for a trip before university started. We heard they offer quite a spread, boasting five meals a day. Breakfast and dinner were excellent, while lunch and afternoon tea were just average. The service was genuinely thoughtful and incredibly responsive – they truly catered to our every need! A huge shout-out to our driver! He was incredibly eloquent, sharing fascinating insights into Nanjing's history throughout our rides. My sister remarked that he clearly not only loves his job but also has a deep passion for Nanjing! Staying at The Ritz-Carlton made it incredibly convenient to visit places like Deji Plaza, Jiming Temple, and the Nanjing Museum. Oh, and a side note: the hotel toothbrushes were surprisingly the most comfortable we've ever used!From€243

The room I booked was full of delightful surprises. Equipped with state-of-the-art smart devices, I could effortlessly control the curtains and lighting via a smart panel, which felt incredibly modern and high-tech. Holly and Gloria provided confident and thoughtful service. The room's decorative details were so impeccable that even a detail-oriented person like me couldn't find a single flaw. Every touch, from the exquisite artwork above the bed to the plush cushions on the sofa, truly showcased the hotel's high-end taste. The absolute pinnacle, though, was the bathroom, featuring panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows. Before booking the Nanjing Xuanwu Hotel, I had thoroughly researched all hotels nearby, but was put off by the sheer volume of negative feedback. After much comparison, I ultimately decided on Xuanwu Hotel. Despite some negative comments, its two main advantages persuaded me to give it a try:
Firstly, its transportation is incredibly convenient. It's directly accessible from the Metro Line 1 exit, making transfers to other lines a breeze. Secondly, the location is superb, right next to Xuanwu Lake Park and the Ming City Wall, both just a few minutes' stroll away.
I checked in with a bit of apprehension, but the front desk lady and a manager (whose name I regrettably didn't catch) gave us a very warm welcome. Upon learning I have allergies and am extremely sensitive to smells, they specifically checked the room's air quality multiple times and fully accommodated all my requests, making me feel genuinely welcome and at ease.
My actual stay turned out to be an even bigger surprise. The room interior wasn't as old as some reviews suggested; for instance, the carpet was clean and tidy. Although the air conditioning still had traditional rotary controls, its cooling performance was superb and didn't detract from the experience in the slightest. Overall, it exceeded my expectations, offering excellent value for money. Highly recommended!
P.S. For the afternoon tea at Xuan Palace (the 360-degree rotating restaurant with lake views), I suggest adding sugar-free or low-sugar drinks/teas. These would pair better with the desserts, as the milk tea, in particular, was quite sweet.From€50

The room was nice, and being able to walk to my gate meant no more worrying about missing early morning flights. There's a small bathtub, which is a plus. On the first floor, in Terminal 2, there's a convenience store where you can grab a Coke or whatever you need. However, the three-pronged outlet by the bed was installed too close to the table; there wasn't enough space to even plug in a power strip. Did the hotel staff ever try to use it themselves? How could they design it like that? That's a definite минус. There's a small balcony with a view of the planes, but it was locked and I couldn't go out. A minor disappointment, but since I was only staying one night, it wasn't a huge deal. You can definitely hear some noise from planes taking off and landing at night, though that might also be because I'm a light sleeper.From€57

The hotels are located near the style department zone and close to exit no.2 of Guangzicun station. I stayed there on the last day of the year, December 31st, 2023, and the hotel was fully booked. However, I did not experience any uncomfortable events. The breakfast was excellent, with a proper international buffet compared to other Chinese hotels. Overall, I would return and stay on a higher floor for a good view.From€44

Nanjing truly lives up to its 'furnace city' reputation – it's scorching hot! To my dismay, upon arrival, the front desk informed me I had booked a windowless room. My heart instantly sank. But as budget-conscious students, we had no choice but to reluctantly accept it.
Stepping into the lobby, I was enveloped by a refreshing blast of air conditioning. The hotel's decor is elegant and comfortable, and during check-in, a friendly staff member even offered us lemon water. Despite being windowless, the room was clean, cozy, and didn't feel cramped at all. The space where a window would typically be was cleverly designed as a decorative cultural lattice wall, blending in seamlessly. According to the staff, the hotel has a 24-hour fresh air system, so the room never felt stuffy.
The location is excellent, conveniently situated right next to Metro Lines 1 and 2. Surrounded by delicious food, beautiful sights, and wonderful company, the vibrant local atmosphere was incredibly therapeutic!From€29

The hotel is great for the price. Good location across from a park with a lake. Beds were comfortable, and clean. The room was cleaned daily. Bottled water provided. The towels were soft and absorbent. The buffet breakfast, at 30 RMB was good. Coffee! A good selection of choices. You can fry your own eggs. Steamed buns and fried noodles. A good choice. Friendly staff. A convenience store right off the lobby. One peculiarity: The toilet was immediately behind the door, which always hit it when entering. The shower is small, and the water escapes to soak the bathroom floor... But towels provided. Toiletries provided are good.From€30
