After quitting my job, I flew to Hong Kong to unwind, and the Airport Express was my first breath of free air. No meetings, no messages, just 24 minutes of pure daydreaming and enjoying the scenery; even scanning QR codes felt effortless. I took a deep breath upon arrival—it turns out that without KPIs, even the train ride is smoother.

This is my first time ordering a Hong Kong Octopus card from this website. The process was quick and easy. After arriving at Hong Kong Airport and clearing immigration, I scanned the code at Hall A13 to pick up the card! Everything went very smoothly. I will definitely recommend this to my friends next time.

The location is excellent, conveniently located near the MRT and Coco Park, with plenty of food options nearby. The night view from the hotel is also beautiful. The room was spacious and generally clean. However, the bed comfort was only average, and unfortunately the pillow had an unpleasant smell. We also encountered bed bugs during our stay, which was quite disappointing. I sincerely hope the management will take this issue seriously and improve the cleanliness standards. As for the service, the front desk staff appeared rather cold and were not very proactive in greeting guests

The hotel's location is excellent, right by the subway station entrance and across from a shopping mall, which is very convenient. The hotel environment is also good, though it is a bit old. The room's carpet was a little dirty, but the bathroom was fine. The customer service was quite good, actively helping guests resolve room issues. The view from the room window was fantastic, offering a full panoramic view of Futian CBD, which was definitely a highlight. The room size was also just right.

Overall, I'm quite satisfied. We stayed at a hotel near the border crossing in advance of our trip to Hong Kong, which was very convenient for crossing early in the morning and getting ahead of the queues. The check-in experience could be improved slightly. There weren't many staff members at the reception when we checked in during the afternoon, so we had to wait quite a while, but their service and responsiveness to complaints were excellent. While the room wasn't brand new (understandable given its age), it was clean, and the housekeeping staff did a fantastic job.

All the staff members are unfailingly friendly and warm; they never take returning guests for granted. The hotel is located right in the city's bustling center, offering a one-stop solution for all your needs, from shopping and dining to transportation. The facilities are well-maintained. Absolutely loved my stay here! The hotel is right above Futian High-Speed Rail Station, which made traveling to Hong Kong incredibly convenient. I could get to the station just ten minutes before my train. It was truly excellent. Although the hotel has a classic, older feel, it still offers top-notch service and standards. Really fantastic, I loved it so much. The breakfast was plentiful, with a wide variety of delicious Cantonese dishes available right there. It was truly great. Highly recommended! The surrounding shopping areas are also super close. Next time I'm in the area, this will be my first choice!

A pretty perfect stay! I am traveling a lot around the globe and stay in 5* hotels. There are plenty of high-end luxury hotels in the Futian area. I am happy that I chose the Ritz-Carlton. Not just that the location is ideal - from the moment I entered the property until I left I felt a true warm hospitality. Especially Miya (reception) went above and beyond to make the stay memorable - always with a warm smile, very responsive and kind - it almost felt like having a personal assistant. Also helpful was, that her English is very good. Having a big outdoor pool is fantastic to have after a busy day, and for me it was also a perfect start into the day, after having a gorgeous breakfast (good choice also for Europeans). I appreciate the barista-coffee. The room might not be the newest (Scandinavian-like) design. However, it was in an immaculate state, perfectly clean, spacious, with plenty of well-positioned international plugs (no adapter needed) and very comfortable. And most important to me: with a very quiet A/C. So all in all: I truly can recommend this hotel, and when coming back to Shenzhen I for sure will stay here again.

The Four Seasons Shenzhen is truly one of the best hotels in the city. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly and attentive staff. Rachel, who assisted us during check-in, was exceptionally kind and helpful. Upon learning that we were in Shenzhen to celebrate our anniversary, she kindly upgraded our room and arranged a beautiful surprise with rose decorations and a cake. Thank you to the Four Seasons team for making our anniversary so special and memorable. The hotel is conveniently located near subway stations and Coco Park, making it very easy to get around. We initially planned to stay for three nights, but due to the hotel’s excellent location, comfort, and outstanding service, we decided to extend our stay by an additional two nights. The Four Seasons is now our top choice in Shenzhen, and we will definitely stay here again on our next visit. The only disappointment during our stay was the limited minibar selection, and the fact that soft drinks were charged. This did not quite meet our expectations for a five-star hotel.

The room was spacious and comfortable, and the service was warm and proactive. The surrounding amenities were excellent, making it fully deserving of a top recommendation. Since I arrived earlier on the check-in day, the front desk very kindly arranged for an early check-in. After confirming I was a Trip.com member, they proactively assigned me the highest floor room with the best view. The hotel has a private beach, and all staff, including concierge, housekeeping, and restaurant personnel, were friendly and automatically helpful. Had a great stay! The hotel's location is pretty good, close to the subway station, about a 10-minute walk. It's connected to 3 subway lines, making getting around very convenient, especially Line 11, which goes directly to the airport in less than an hour. There's also a shopping mall right next door, so shopping is a breeze. I stayed in an executive room, and the layout and flow were very well-designed. Some of the facilities showed thoughtful attention to detail, and the British-style decor was very comfortable. The square bathtub was quite unique – it was great to watch TV while taking a bath. The double sinks were a nice touch, and the shower had excellent water pressure with a good hot water supply. Room service was prompt, even though some amenities were out of stock. Their explanations and handling of the situation were spot-on, so I was still very impressed! The breakfast had a wide variety of options, and the dining experience was good. Cheong fun (rice noodle rolls) and ramen were made to order, and there were cards on the tables to prevent long queues and crowding. The lounge's afternoon tea had a rich selection and was delicious. The evening light meal was decent one day but not so good on another. The male staff in the lounge were very friendly and attentive, while the female staff were a bit more formal. The gym and swimming pool were both quite clean. Overall, it was a very positive experience. Recommended!

This was a perfect hotel for us to land after a long international flight with young kids; huge hotel and compound which likely had its prime when it was first built 20 years ago; it needs a lot of maintenance and upkeep but the standout of it was its nature park access which is a must with young kids; so beautiful and lots of fun. It would be so nice if it became more popular again so they can restore the place to its former glory. Workers were really warm and friendly; breakfast was a nice touch.

Although Meisu is a little distance from the subway station, there are beaches/snack stalls along the way, so it's okay. The estate itself feels old, and the swimming pool is deserted, but once you enter the house, you’re in another world; The cleanliness is better than expected, the bed sheets, towels, quilts, sofa and bathtub are also clean and tidy; Customer service contacted us via WeChat, and the Wifi, door password, and how to get to Meisu were all clear. Even nearby attractions are introduced one by one. Although the response is not immediate, you don’t have to wait too long; The facilities are very complete. The bathroom supplies are all there. The refrigerator can freeze (which is good for a normal hotel). There is a giant screen with movies to watch, but VIPs can't watch them. However, you can use Air View, and you can prepare your own movies if necessary. There are two sets of kimonos for everyone to take photos, and the surfaces are very clean. There are also sufficient charging stations in the room, and a charging cable is provided. The bathtub is on the terrace, with disposable bath bags provided. Draw the blinds at night, turn off the terrace lights, and people downstairs won't see you when you stand up. Japanese style, comfortable and beautiful

Typical Hyatt standard. The front desk was great and gave us a free upgrade. The mountain and river views are uniquely beautiful, even on a cloudy day. What's particularly good is that the hotel lobby connects directly to a mall, so you can eat, drink, and have fun without stepping outside in the rain. However, aside from that, there was no butler service, turn-down service, or welcome fruit. The TV couldn't cast to, and among the five-star hotels I've stayed in, the service was quite average. The location was a significant advantage, situated in the core area of Luohu. The surrounding neighborhood offered mature amenities, including diverse dining options and shops. With convenient access to public transport and urban road networks, it was incredibly easy to get around and do daily shopping, offering great freedom of movement. Considering all aspects, whether for a short trip or regular travel, this hotel is a reliable and suitable choice. The overall experience was outstanding, and I will definitely prioritize staying here again on future visits.

Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport Shenzhen|26.69km from city center
The room was very clean and new, and the hotel lobby was quite grand. The breakfast and dinner buffet at the restaurant were also good, and the staff were very enthusiastic. Overall, it's a five-star experience. The only minor drawback was that the check-in staff seemed a bit unprofessional. When I wanted to take my child to the Kids Club (Yuequ Ting) around 5 PM, she said it closed at 6 PM and didn't smile at all. She didn't mention any of the hotel facilities or services. Later, other staff members told me it actually closed at 9 PM. Aside from that, the other experiences were all great. It's indeed close to the airport, only a ten-minute drive, which is very convenient. It's a great choice if you're traveling with kids and don't want to rush around.

Huge thanks to the duty manager, Elliott! He was incredibly patient and thoughtful. Seeing that we had a very young child, he kindly arranged for our fruit and even put our twin beds together in advance, which was so warm and professional. We'll definitely come back and look for him again next time. The scenery was beautiful, and the kids loved it, constantly jumping around and singing!

This Intercontinental is truly a paradise for families with kids! Located in Shenzhen city center, it's like an urban oasis. The outdoor pool is huge and even has a sandy beach. The only minor issue was the boat, which had just been repainted and had a strong odor. In the afternoon, there are bubble parties. They also have a free merry-go-round and you can feed the fish. It's conveniently located, and ordering food delivery is easy. My only real complaint is that the room design feels a bit dated, and the bed faces the sliding bathroom door. Also, if your room faces the outdoor play area, be prepared for some noise from people singing karaoke late at night. Still, these are minor issues that don't detract from the overall experience.

Manager Zeng upgraded me to a sea view room, and with my platinum card suite upgrade, it perfectly transformed into a two-bedroom apartment! 😍 Everything else was great, excellent value for money at this price. The only downside is that out of three pools, one is always closed for cleaning during operating hours, except on weekends. I don't quite understand why they clean it during open hours. Plus, the front desk didn't mention it at check-in, nor did anyone say anything when I went swimming, but I got kicked out halfway through my swim. It's a bit old, for sure. The TV was a little broken, and some outlets weren't working, but considering the price, it's still good value.

The hotel was really quiet and the room was super clean. We also took the kids to the Eco-Sports Commune, which was a very comfortable place to play with some amusement rides. Afterwards, we went to the Ice and Snow World, which the kids really enjoyed. There's also an aquarium right at the entrance with lots of things to do. Plus, there's a new shopping center with plenty of food options just across the street, making it very convenient. The shuttle bus service nearby is also great for getting around. Highly recommend!

Great location, plenty of food options and malls within walking distance. The room was small but had everything we needed, and they even provided Chinese power outlets, which was a thoughtful touch. Hot water was good too. Overall, I recommend this place.

Turns out Hampton Inn is indeed Hampton, and its Chinese name sounds so joyful and warm. The hotel pays great attention to detail, with many thoughtful touches. I got a 'lucky' goodie bag, and while I didn't take the small items (even though I could), it made me happy about my little bit of luck. The front desk staff were all smiles. The most impressive person was the lady in the restaurant; she was meticulous yet firm, and genuinely cared about whether we were satisfied. So, I took a picture of her name tag (Liu Mingjie) to remember her sense of ownership. A hotel that inspires its employees to genuinely promote it! Most importantly, it offers great value for money.

The hotel is located right next to a park, which is perfect for families with kids. We were very satisfied with our stay in all aspects. After dinner, we enjoyed a lovely evening stroll along the seaside boardwalk, which was incredibly relaxing. Ms. Wang at the front desk arranged a room for us with a fantastic view of Yantian Port, and the expansive scenery was truly beautiful! We'll definitely be back next time! FAQs about Shenzhen Visa on Arrival

  • How to Prepare Documents for Entering China?

Whether you are applying for a VOA or entering visa-free, preparation is key to avoiding delays.
    Documents Required at the Border
Original Passport: Must have at least 6 months validity and one blank page.
Hotel Confirmation: A printed or digital copy of your Shenzhen hotel address/phone number.
Arrival Card: A small blue/yellow card available in the immigration hall. You must fill this out before joining the line.
Health Declaration QR (Customs): While no longer a strict "COVID" check, China Customs still requires a digital health declaration via the "China Customs" WeChat mini-program. Do this while on the MTR to save time at the gate.
  • Which port is best for the Shenzhen Visa on Arrival?

Huanggang is the only 24-hour land port. Lo Wu is the most convenient via MTR but closes at 16:30 for visa applications. If you arrive late, you must go to Huanggang.
  • What are the China visa requirements for travel beyond Shenzhen?

If you want to visit the Great Wall or Terracotta Warriors, you need a Full China L-Visa. You must apply for this at a Chinese Embassy or Visa Center before your trip. You cannot "upgrade" a 5-day Shenzhen VOA to a full China visa once you are inside.
  • How long does the VOA application take at Shenzhen ports?

Typically 30–60 minutes, depending on passenger volume.
  • Can I extend my visa-free stay in Shenzhen?

No. All visa-free policies have fixed stay limits; overstay will lead to fines and exit restrictions.
