Shanghai 24-Hour Spas: What They Cost, How They Work, and Which One to Pick

A Shanghai 24-hour spa is not a spa in the European sense. It is a bathhouse, all-you-can-eat fruit bar, cinema, nap room and social club rolled into one building that never closes, and locals treat it as a weekend destination rather than a treatment appointment. That is why they work so well for travellers with a long layover, an early arrival before check-in, or a spare evening in Pudong.

What follows is how the system actually operates, what the ticket does and does not include, and five places worth your time, with current Trip.com prices.

One name to hold on to before you read on: a 24-hour spa is open around the clock, but the ticket you buy is usually a block of hours. Shuiguo, for example, sells shorter tickets at weekends than on weekdays, and Qushui Lanting prices 12-hour and 24-hour stays separately. Assume a time limit until you have read the ticket.

The Best 24-Hour Spas in Shanghai (Prices & Reviews)

The Best 24-Hour Spas in Shanghai Shuiguo - Hot Spring(Hongqiao Store)

The Best 24-Hour Spas in Shanghai Shuiguo - Hot Spring(Hongqiao Store)

Shuiguo Hot Spring: The Best All-Rounder

Shuiguo is what most people picture when they book their first Shanghai spa, and it is the one to choose if you want the full experience without the premium price. Tickets start at about USD 44 for a single, around USD 89 for two, and about USD 73 for one adult and one child. Evening and overnight packages that include the overnight charge and next-day breakfast land around USD 52 to 83.

The draw is the fruit bar: durian, cherries, shine muscat grapes and mangosteen in season, plus soft drinks and Haagen-Dazs. Beyond that you get indoor pools at several temperatures, wet and dry saunas, herbal rooms and a salt cave, sleep capsules and lazy-sofa halls, a screening room, a book corner and arcade games.

The branch linked here is the Hongqiao store, which sits on the B1 level of Longfor Hongqiao Tianjie, one metro stop from Hongqiao Railway Station. That makes it the obvious choice for a Hongqiao arrival or departure. Shuiguo runs other branches across the city, but for an airport transfer this is the one you want.

The Best 24-Hour Spas in Shanghai Shuiguo - Hot Spring(Hongqiao Store)

The Best 24-Hour Spas in Shanghai Shuiguo - Hot Spring(Hongqiao Store)

Young·SPACE Hot Spring Hall: Best for a Layover

Young·SPACE at No. 57 Pudian Road is the closest 24-hour spa to Pudong Airport, which is the airport most long-haul travellers arrive at, and it is one of the most affordable at about USD 45 for an adult ticket and around USD 24 for a child. It sits near Century Avenue, so Lines 2, 4, 6 and 9 all reach it, and Pudong Road station on Lines 4 and 6 is also within walking distance.

The design leans futuristic: capsule sleep pods, a private cinema room, games areas, and free fruit and drinks throughout. It is quieter than Shuiguo and better suited to a solo traveller who wants to shower, eat something and sleep for six hours before a flight. Watch the overnight surcharge if you plan to be there between 02:00 and 06:00.

The Best 24-Hour Spas in Shanghai Qushui Lanting: The Premium 24-Hour Option

Qushui Lanting: The Premium 24-Hour Option

Qushui Lanting: The Premium 24-Hour Option

Qushui Lanting is where Shanghai goes when the point is to be pampered. It occupies five floors and around 18,000 square metres near Hongqiao, and the ticket includes a rotating seafood and sushi buffet, which is a genuine meal service rather than a fruit bar.

Listed prices start at about USD 229, and that level of ticket includes the buffet. Packages that add a foot massage or a premium facial treatment cost more, and weekday or evening promotions sometimes bring the entry price down, so check the package details on the booking page for your date rather than assuming a single headline number.

If you are deciding between Qushui Lanting and Shuiguo, the question is what you are buying. Shuiguo sells volume and energy; Qushui Lanting sells quiet, private rooms, premium toiletries and a proper dinner. For a couple marking an occasion, the premium is worth it. For a nap between flights, it is not.

The Best 24-Hour Spas in Shanghai Qushui Lanting: The Premium 24-Hour Option

Dwenton Spa & Moxibustion: Treatment, Not Bathhouse

Dwenton sits on the fourth floor of a business building on Shuicheng South Road in Changning, a short walk from Shuicheng Road station on Line 10. It is a treatment clinic rather than an entry-ticket spa: moxibustion, TCM-style therapies and bodywork, priced by the session from about USD 21, and open 09:00 to 22:30.

Book it if you want a specific therapy after a long flight, or if heat and herbal treatment appeals more than a buffet. Do not book it expecting pools, saunas or somewhere to sleep, because it offers none of those.

Shanghai Sun Island Resorts: A Resort, Not a 24-Hour Spa

Sun Island is out in Qingpu near Zhujiajiao, and it belongs on this list because it is the only option here that combines a hot spring with a hotel room. It is also the one that will catch you out: the forest hot spring operates defined daytime and evening hours rather than overnight, so confirm the current schedule when you book.

The resort is one of the best-rated in the city at 9.5 out of 10 from more than 3,600 reviews, with an average room rate from about USD 220 per night. The outdoor pools are mixed-gender and require swimwear, unlike the bare-skin gender-separated wet areas in the city spas. There is also a children's area and grounds to walk, which makes it work as a weekend escape and badly as a layover plan, given it is more than an hour from the centre.

What Is a Shanghai 24-Hour Spa and How Do They Work?

What Is a Shanghai 24-Hour Spa and How Do They Work?

You pay one entry fee, receive a wristband and a set of clothes, and then move freely through the building. The wet areas are gender-separated. The dry areas, which is where most of the day is actually spent, are mixed, and people walk around in the pyjamas or t-shirt and shorts the venue gives them.

What the entry fee covers

Hot pools at various temperatures, dry and steam saunas, showers and changing rooms with lockers, towels and toiletries, rest halls with recliners and lazy sofas, sleep pods or capsules, a cinema or screening area, games and reading corners, and unlimited fruit plus soft drinks, coffee and ice cream. Hairdryers are often Dyson. At the newer places, the fruit bar is the headline feature, and it is not a token bowl of apples.

The wristband and how you pay for extras

Nothing is paid for in cash inside. Anything extra, a foot massage, a body scrub, a private room, proper cooked food or an arcade machine, is charged to your wristband and settled when you leave. This is the single most important thing to understand about the system, because it makes spending frictionless and your exit bill larger than you expect.

Can you really sleep there overnight?

Yes, and plenty of people do, but two rules apply. First, most venues add a surcharge for staying through the small hours, typically between 02:00 and 06:00; at Young·SPACE it is around CNY 69, roughly USD 10. Second, sleeping spots are first come, first served, and free capsules are the first thing to run out on a Friday or Saturday night. Private rooms cost extra.

What is not a 24-hour spa

Dwenton Spa & Moxibustion is on this list as the counterpoint. The reference point for many travellers is traditional Chinese medicine, and Dwenton specialises in moxibustion and TCM-style treatments rather than baths and buffets. There is no entry ticket, you pay per treatment from about USD 21, and it runs 09:00 to 22:30.

How to Get to Shanghai 24-Hour Spas

Shanghai has two airports, and which one you land at changes the answer completely. Hongqiao (SHA) handles domestic and regional flights and sits about 13 km from the centre. Pudong (PVG) handles long-haul international traffic and is roughly 45 km out.

Spa

From Hongqiao

From Pudong

Shuiguo Hot Spring

Line 2, one stop to Hongqiao Railway Station, then a 5-minute walk, about 15 minutes

Line 2 across the city, allow 1.5 hours

Qushui Lanting

Line 2 to Hongmei Road, Exit 2, then 8 minutes on foot, about 25 minutes

Line 2 to Hongmei Road, about 1.5 to 1.75 hours

Young·SPACE

Line 2 to Century Avenue, about 50 minutes

Line 2 to Century Avenue, Exit 6, then 5 to 7 minutes on foot, about 50 to 60 minutes

Shanghai Sun Island Resorts

Line 2 to Hongqiao Railway Station, Line 17 to Zhujiajiao, then bus or DiDi, about 70 minutes

Line 2 and Line 17, allow 2.5 hours

Dwenton Spa & Moxibustion

Line 10 to Shuicheng Road, Exit 3, about 30 minutes

Line 2 to Nanjing East Road, change to Line 10, about 1.5 hours

Metro fares run from CNY 3 to 14, roughly USD 0.40 to 2. If you are carrying luggage, a taxi or DiDi saves real time and effort, particularly from Pudong, but the roads around Hongqiao and the city centre can be slow in the morning and evening peaks. Line 2 connects both airports, which sounds convenient until you realise the cross-city run takes the better part of an hour and a half.

Which Shanghai Spa Suits Which Airport and Layover?

Which Shanghai Spa Suits Which Airport and Layover?

Your situation

Best choice

Why

Landing or departing at Hongqiao, 6 hours to fill

Shuiguo Hot Spring

One metro stop away, 24 hours, food and sleep available

Landing at Pudong with a long wait

Young·SPACE

The shortest realistic transfer to a 24-hour spa, capsule sleep pods

A full evening in the city, no flight pressure

Qushui Lanting

The buffet and the quiet make it a night out, not a waiting room

A weekend, not a layover

Shanghai Sun Island Resorts

The only option with a hotel room and outdoor pools

You want treatment, not a bathhouse

Dwenton Spa & Moxibustion

Moxibustion and TCM therapies rather than entry-ticket facilities

A caveat worth stating plainly: a 24-hour spa is not a transit hotel. If you have eight hours at Pudong and no visa-free entry, you cannot leave the airport to use any of these. And if your layover is under six hours, the transfer will eat most of it.

Is a Shanghai 24-Hour Spa a Good Alternative to a Hotel?

Is a Shanghai 24-Hour Spa a Good Alternative to a Hotel?

For one night, often yes, and the saving is real. A bed in a capsule area plus baths, food and a cinema costs less than most airport hotels, and you are not paying for a room you will only use for five hours.

The trade-offs are worth knowing before you book it as your accommodation:

  • You are sleeping in a shared space with people watching films and talking. Capsules are quieter than recliner halls, but neither is a hotel room.
  • Your luggage stays with you or in a locker. There is no secure left-luggage service to the standard of a hotel front desk.
  • You cannot check in early in the hotel sense. You arrive when you arrive, and the overnight surcharge applies if you sleep through the small hours.
  • Private rooms exist at the premium venues and cost extra, at which point you should compare against a hotel.

Where it works beautifully is a six to ten hour gap, a shower, a proper meal and a nap before a flight. Where it fails is an eleven-hour overnight where you need to be genuinely rested.

What to Pack and the Rules You Have to Follow

What to Pack and the Rules You Have to Follow

Most of what you need is provided: a robe or pyjama set, towels, slippers, a locker, shampoo, body wash and a hairdryer. Bring your passport for verification, a small bag for essentials, a phone charger, and a translation app on your phone.

Rule

What it means in practice

Shower before you get in the water

Non-negotiable at every venue, and posted on the walls

No swimwear in gender-separated wet areas

These areas are bare-skin by convention. At mixed outdoor pools, such as Sun Island, swimwear is required instead

No photography in changing rooms or pools

Phones stay in the locker in the wet areas

Keep your voice down in rest areas

People are sleeping, including at three in the afternoon

Settle the wristband before you leave

Unpaid extras will be raised at the exit, and they hold your locker until it is clear

Tipping is not expected

It is not part of the culture here, and adding it confuses the process

What Is Not Included in Shanghai 24-Hour Spas, and What Surprises First-Timers

  • The ticket has a time limit. A 24-hour spa means the venue never closes. Shuiguo sells shorter tickets at weekends than on weekdays, and Qushui Lanting prices 12-hour and 24-hour stays separately. Overstaying is charged.
  • The overnight window is an add-on. Staying between roughly 02:00 and 06:00 usually costs extra, about USD 10 at Young·SPACE.
  • Fruit and ice cream are included; dinner may not be. Mid-tier venues include the fruit bar and drinks. A full buffet is the premium tier's selling point.
  • Massages, scrubs and foot therapy are always extra. So are private rooms, arcade machines and any proper cooked dishes at the mid-tier venues.
  • Your suitcase comes with you. Most places will store it, but you are carrying it to the spa and back.

Health and Safety Before You Go to Shanghai Spas

A few sensible limits, because the combination of hot water, saunas and a long flight is harder on the body than it feels at the time.

  • Do not drink alcohol before or during the baths. The heat amplifies it, and fainting in a wet tiled room is a bad outcome.
  • Keep sessions short: ten to fifteen minutes in a sauna or hot pool, then cool down and drink water. Repeat rather than enduring.
  • Skip the hot areas if you are pregnant, or have heart conditions, high blood pressure, open wounds or skin infections.
  • The traditional body scrub is vigorous by design. Say something if the pressure is too much, and skip it if you have sensitive skin.
  • Floors are wet and the slippers are thin. Take the steps slowly, and watch for the transition strips between wet and dry areas.
  • Eat something before you go, especially if you plan to sleep. Arriving hungry at 23:00 after a long flight is how people end up spending more than they planned.

Tips for Your First Visit to Shanghai 24-Hour Spas

  • Book on Trip.com rather than at the door. Discounts of 25 to 46 per cent against walk-up prices are normal, and the ticket is an e-voucher you show on arrival.
  • Go midweek. Friday and Saturday nights are the busiest, and sleep pods go first.
  • Arrive by 21:00 if you intend to sleep. By 23:00 on a weekend, the decent capsules are taken.
  • Bring your passport. It is the identity document used for entry verification.
  • Set an alarm, and ask the front desk to wake you. Nobody will wake you otherwise, and the venue will not either.
  • Earplugs and an eye mask turn a recliner hall from a lost night into a decent nap.
  • Check the buffet hours if you are paying premium prices for dinner, since the premium venues rotate their food service.

🔥[Discount] Where to Stay: Spa and Hot Spring Hotels in Shanghai

If what you actually want is a private hot spring and a bed, the city has a category for it. Browse Trip.com's Shanghai spa hotels to see what is available for your dates. The listing covers more than 150 spa properties in Shanghai, with rates starting around USD 66 a night.

Three worth knowing about: The Anandi Hotel and Spa Shanghai, near Hongqiao, is consistently one of the highest-rated spa hotels in the city and pairs well with a Hongqiao arrival. Shanghai Hyakumangoku Onsen Hotel, out near the Shanghai Disney Resort, has its own onsen and is the closest thing to a Japanese hot spring ryokan in Shanghai. Oyado Hotel, near Changfeng Park, is a smaller Japanese-style property that suits a quiet night.

Spa-focused hotels in Shanghai start around USD 90 per night and run past USD 300 for five-star properties with a full spa and pool. Availability matters more than price during Chinese public holidays and the October and May fair weeks, when the city fills up.

A perfect National Day holiday experience, highly recommend Anandi Hotel Shanghai! I came for a relaxing and healing break during the National Day holiday, and the entire stay exceeded my expectations. The hotel environment is secluded and peaceful, and the wooden guest rooms are warm and soothing. The Eath mattress, various pillows, sleep aid device, and wellness bath sachets were all provided, ensuring an exceptionally sound night's sleep. The balcony offered a wide view, and the hot tub was incredibly relaxing and therapeutic. The Hengyue Xinshe hot spring, singing bowls, and yoga workshop activities were abundant, and there were also special craft experiences during the National Day, creating a strong holiday atmosphere. I must especially praise our dedicated butler, Yoyo! Despite the large number of guests during the holiday, Yoyo was attentive and thoughtful throughout. During check-in, she meticulously explained all the healing facilities in the room and provided a personalized wellness tea based on my constitution. Any requests were responded to incredibly quickly.

This was an absolutely wonderful hotel. The ambiance throughout the property was sophisticated, and the staff's service was meticulous, making my stay incredibly comfortable. What particularly stood out was the hot spring. The atmosphere was superb, and it felt like I was experiencing the luxury of a Japanese ryokan, even though I was abroad. I believe it's on par with the best ryokans in Japan. Among them, Mr. Gao's service was exceptional; he was incredibly attentive to every detail and escorted us with care throughout our stay. Thanks to him, it became an even more special and pleasant experience. The hotel's atmosphere, the hot spring, and the thoughtfulness of all the staff were all magnificent. It's definitely a hotel I would love to visit again.

I stayed one night at Yuansu Hot Spring Hotel in Shanghai, and the overall experience was better than expected. The room was very clean and well-equipped, making for a comfortable stay. My favorite part was the private hot spring tub in the room. After returning in the evening, I could soak anytime without needing a reservation, which offered excellent privacy. The hotel also offers therapeutic activities like meditation. Unfortunately, I only stayed one night and didn't have much time to try them, but they seemed quite unique. Parking at the hotel is very convenient, with plenty of spaces available. If you're driving, you basically don't have to worry about parking. The hotel staff provided excellent and patient service. They were always quick to help with any issues and spoke very kindly. Even though it was just a one-night stay, the overall experience was great. If I'm looking for a quiet place to relax and enjoy a hot spring in Shanghai in the future, I would definitely consider coming back here.

The hotel room facilities are good, with everything that should be there. The smoking area outside is also very beautiful. The breakfast in the morning is very good, it is self-service, and there are freshly made noodles to eat. If you are thirsty, you can go downstairs at any time to have some drinks and fruits, which are all included in the hotel package. Why the deduction? Like many reviews wrote, the water in the pool here is really too hot. It is the hottest of all the hot springs in Shanghai that I have been to. It feels too hot. I saw that several children could hardly soak in the water for a while. I don’t know why so many people complained. I saw that the management was still saying in the comments that it met the hot spring temperature requirements. What they said is that your water is too hot, and they are giving you suggestions. Everyone in the hot spring said that the water was hot, not that you violated any regulations... It takes talent to reply like this

I visited Qianyun after looking at dozens of places in the area. I wanted to be away from typical city area, have a bathtub and nice outdoor area, and with easy access to Shanghai Disneyland. Qianyun met all those requirements and more! The location was immediately very serene and surrounded by forest, but still easy to access lots of waimai food delivery options. They were also very kind and proactive about sharing information about local restaurants and activities, and provide a breakfast and evening fruit every day. They offer free car transport to Disneyland, and I was excited to use this service but I ended up enjoying my time at the hotel so much that I opted to stay and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere instead! The hotel pets are so friendly - within five minutes the little cat Banban was on my lap and purring. The room itself is decorated very nicely with all the amenities you need. The bathtub inside is very comfortable and I loved the outdoor hot spring tub as well. The attention to hygiene is very highly emphasized and I was impressed with how clean and luxurious everything felt. I will definitely visit again and recommend to anyone hoping to have a convenient getaway from the city, or who would like to be near to Disneyland Resort while also experiencing a more peaceful area and for a good economical value and high quality service! Thankyou for the wonderful stay, I felt very welcome at all times.

The location is excellent, right on Nanjing Road. There's a revolving restaurant upstairs and a shopping mall on the lower floors, making dining very convenient. Oliver, who assisted us, was incredibly nice and attentive, providing a five-star service throughout our stay. Most of the guests were international tour groups. The only downside is that the rooms are a bit old, and some have average views. It would be better to choose a room type carefully when checking in at Radisson Blu Hotel Shanghai New World.

We had a fantastic stay and were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The staff were exceptionally warm and attentive, always even greeting us at the door, opening doors and checking cars for belongings left behind after long shopping trips. The hotel has a beautiful, luxurious atmosphere, with excellent facilities including a very well-equipped gym and separate men’s and women’s sauna and steam rooms as well as a pool and hot tub. There is also an onsite spa opened till 2am! The ‘This Works’ bathroom toiletries in the rooms were a lovely touch and smelled wonderful. Breakfast was outstanding, with an impressive selection and freshly prepared omelettes, steamed buns and pancakes. The English-speaking staff were also incredibly helpful throughout our stay and provided great recommendations of places to see and where to eat close by. The location is excellent, within easy walking distance of Nanjing Road and the Bund. Overall, a beautifully presented hotel with genuinely excellent service — we would happily stay here again and am glad we chose to stay here as there are an overwhelming amount of choices available but we feel we made a great choice!

This hotel exudes an old-money charm. I booked a night at the Garden Hotel for a staycation, just to switch things up. It's a classic for a reason – the location is unbeatable; it's a leisurely 15-minute stroll back from the Shanghai Culture Square. Not to mention the stunning large lawn and the gorgeous Art Deco interiors. Jing'an District/West Nanjing Road Shanghai|0.85km from city center
My friend was only staying in Shanghai for a day, so naturally, I wanted to give her an itinerary that offered both 'old-world charm and new-age chic.' While passing Nanjing West Road recently, this InterContinental 'Luxury Collection' hotel immediately caught my eye. And just as I expected, critical as she is, she complimented my taste the moment she walked in. Its most appealing features are its convenient location and its ability to be a tranquil oasis amidst the bustle: step outside, and you're on the vibrant Nanjing Road; turn around, and you're in the quiet serenity of a residential area. My friend said the elevator decor instantly made her feel like she'd 'traveled through time,' and that unique 'Haitian style' evoked long-lost memories of Shanghai. She had originally come to sightsee but happily spent most of her day lingering at the hotel. What she loved most were the terrace and the restaurant. On a summer evening, the breeze felt just like those childhood nights spent cooling off in the alleyways – she used to live in a Shikumen house. She remarked, 'If only I could lie in a wicker chair, fan myself with a palm-leaf fan, eat watermelon, and watch an outdoor movie, that would be truly divine.' She also adored the red hanging ornament in the lobby; it was vibrantly bright, yet its glass texture gave it a lively feel, much like Shanghai's character – passionate yet steady, with a touch of lightness within its composure. The food did not disappoint either. I pushed her to try the Shiqipu Noodle Restaurant, where the owner asked in Shanghainese, 'Mi dao ai hao fa?' (Is the taste good?), and she smiled and replied, 'Authentic,' instantly tearing up. She specifically bought the sweet variety of butterfly pastries from the International Hotel – saying 'only sweet is truly Shanghai.' Her only regret was: having stayed in too many foreign-style grand hotels, this time, with Shanghai elements everywhere and Shanghai flavors in every bite, it was 'just missing the sound of Shanghai.' Perhaps the cicada chirps in the alleyways and the hawkers' cries from the Shikumen are the hometown sounds she truly yearns to hear. However, she has already declared: the next time she returns, this will be her chosen hotel, and she plans to visit all the routes I arranged. I believe the charm of Shanghai has never been in its superficial glamour but in its ability to always find the most fitting way to blend East and West, ancient and modern, living as a unique 'Haipai' (Shanghai style). This is also the root that every Shanghainese person cherishes. Below are the three half-day itinerary options I created for her, which I've also compiled here, hoping they might help someone else: Option 1 · A Stroll Through Old Shanghai Charm Start from the hotel's main entrance on Fengyang Road and turn into Huanghe Road. The Changjiang Building and Changjiang Theater were the last residences of Eileen Chang; Huanghe Road is the origin of 'Blossoms Shanghai' (Fan Hua). The International Hotel is where her mother and aunt once stayed; next to it, the Sports Museum is rumored to be where Eileen Chang used to study. Diagonally opposite is the History Museum (formerly the Racecourse); the East Wing houses the old bronze lions from the HSBC Building on the Bund, and the 'Echoes of Shanghai' exhibition in the West Wing happens to talk about the past of Fengyang Road. The ornate windows of the West Wing and the Changjiang Building, mirroring the hotel's architecture, perfectly showcase the most fashionable Art Deco style of the 1930s. Option 2 · Tracing Red Memories Walk along Chengdu North Road to the Secretariat of the China Labor Movement, to see how Shanghai workers united into a revolutionary force; then visit the former site of the Songpu Special Committee. Go to the Sihang Warehouse to hear the echoes of the Battle of Shanghai and see the bullet-riddled walls recount the tragedy of that year. At night, turn into Xiang Kang Li on Xinchang Road to find the former site of the CCP Central Committee's secret printing press; on Nanjing West Road, there is also the former site of the Soviet Liaison Office, where, amidst the flickering lights, memories of the past reside. Option 3 · Modern and Retro Collision The LV 'Big Boat' on Nanjing West Road is currently a popular spot for photos; after visiting, turn into Wujiang Road for shopping and dining, and further ahead is Zhangyuan Shikumen – where new trends emerge in old alleyways, perfect for capturing stunning photos. Food Tips · The hotel restaurant's afternoon tea set is exquisite and picture-perfect. · Shiqipu Noodle Restaurant (the owner's Shanghainese is a living signboard). · Deda Western Restaurant and Gongdelin Noodle Restaurant, each with its own charm. · Donghai Small Restaurant (authentic Ningbo cuisine). · Chongming cuisine on the second floor of the hotel, authentic local flavors. · International Hotel butterfly pastries, remember to choose the sweet ones. The hotel was very nice. The breakfast buffet had a mix of western food and Chinese food. The only improvement I would suggest is a more powerful toaster, but that obviously isn’t a deal breaker. We stayed in a lovely room with a balcony. The housekeeping was wonderful and came every day during our stay. The view of the Bund from the elevator waiting area/lobby was really nice, especially in the evening. Highly recommend staying at Blossom House!

I had a very satisfying stay. The lobby atmosphere and environment were excellent, and the location was superb. It's only a 15-minute walk to The Bund and Nanjing Road, making it convenient for taxis and public transport. The room was simple, clean, and well-equipped with all facilities in good working order. You could see the 'three-piece set' (referring to the three iconic skyscrapers of Shanghai) and the Oriental Pearl TV Tower from the window. The front desk service was attentive, and check-in was quick and easy, not taking much time at all. The room was very well-maintained and even had a mini-bar and complimentary snacks. Overall, I had a great experience and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shanghai.

Facilities: This is an old-school five-star hotel. While the style has a bit of history to it, everything is impeccably clean. It truly showcases the quality of a five-star hotel and makes you feel at ease. Hygiene: Nothing to complain about, absolutely excellent! Spotless. Environment: Many foreigners stay here, making it feel like you're abroad. Of course, Shanghai is indeed an international metropolis, and you see a lot of foreigners on the streets. Service: I have to complain about the hotel's breakfast, specifically the noodle and wonton station right at the entrance. You're a five-star hotel, after all. Yet, the wontons and noodles are pre-cooked. If you want some, they just roll them around in the broth, which is incredibly perfunctory. They taste mushy. It really cheapens the experience. They even give you a tag and tell you to pick it up after three minutes. Does it really take three minutes to swish something in a pot? It's out in 20 seconds, tops. However, the egg pancakes are made fresh! An egg pancake requires tomatoes, onions, minced meat, mixing, spreading, rolling, and plating – wow, that sounds like a lot of work, right? But they make each one fresh, and you have to wait for it. If no one orders, they just leave the pan empty! You guys are truly dedicated! Perhaps wontons and Chinese noodles just don't 'agree' with hotel settings, and they have to be pre-cooked. That's a tough pill to swallow.

The hotel's location is excellent, right next to Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street. It's only a 15-20 minute walk to the Bund. This time I stayed in an executive room which included breakfast and access to the executive lounge. The breakfast spread was very generous with a wide variety of choices, and the food tasted good too. The only downside was that the room showed clear signs of wear and tear, with dark stains around the bathtub. Also, getting a taxi was a bit inconvenient as drivers often didn't know how to get to the lobby on the second floor.

This is my second time staying at this hotel. I booked an executive twin room with my child. The room was clean, and its location right in the heart of Jing'an Temple makes dining and taking the subway incredibly convenient. I first booked it because of its proximity to Eileen Chang's former residence, Changde Apartment, and I booked it again because of its excellent location and service. My child particularly loves the hot spring pool here. We also ate several meals at CP Jing'an this time, which was very convenient. However, you need to watch the time when taking a taxi. I noticed during this trip to Shanghai that Jing'an Temple is really congested. Getting to the hotel was a constant jam, and the ride to the airport was also quite slow. The hotel breakfast is excellent! There's a wide variety, and I always eat too much. Check-out time is also very flexible; my flight was at 4 PM, and the front desk staff kindly extended our check-out to 1:30 PM, which was fantastic service. I'll definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Shanghai.

Decent stay, but several misses for a 5-star property My stay at the Pullman Shanghai Central was a mixed bag—nice in some areas, but disappointing in others. Check-in: The staff were very friendly and welcoming on our first day. However, I was surprised that they wouldn't let me check in until 3:00 PM. At most other hotels, I'm usually able to get an early check-in (even if I arrive at noon), so this felt a bit rigid for a property of this level. The Room: The room itself was comfortable—the bed was soft and the shower pressure was actually perfect (not too strong, not too weak, just right). Unfortunately, the room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke upon arrival. To their credit, when I called the front desk, they immediately offered to change my room, which was very professional of them. Breakfast: This was the biggest letdown. The breakfast buffet felt more like what you'd expect from a 3-star hotel rather than a 5-star Pullman. The quality and selection just weren't there for me. Overall: It was an okay stay—nothing terrible, but nothing exceptional either. I wouldn't rate it a 10/10, more like a solid 6. Good service from the staff, but the check-in policy, smoke issue, and food really held it back.

The room was spacious enough, and the location was absolutely superb, offering an unobstructed view of the Bund right across the street. It's right next to Binjiang Park, so you just cross the road and you're by the river. Super Brand Mall is right next door, and the Pudong Art Museum is also very close. There are plenty of dining options nearby as well. Whether you're in a car or walking, the 'Three Piece Set' (Shanghai Tower, Jin Mao Tower, and Shanghai World Financial Center) is constantly in view. The breakfast was incredibly rich and diverse. The only reason I didn't give a perfect score is because there was no bidet.

I absolutely have to rave about this hotel! The front desk staff, especially the lady who checked me in, was incredibly friendly and efficient, even offering a thoughtful room upgrade. The concierge team was simply outstanding – they took care of everything from the moment I arrived until I checked out. They handled my luggage, arranged taxis, and even helped plan my itinerary, making my stay completely stress-free and truly heartwarming. The room itself was genuinely spacious with a great layout, making for a very comfortable stay. The service was attentive, and the overall experience was fantastic. Five-star recommendation!

We celebrated my child's birthday at the Ritz, and the hotel was incredibly thoughtful in decorating the room. A special thanks to Rosy for her full-service assistance and to Scarlett for the carefully prepared gift and handwritten card. Also, the handsome guys and beautiful ladies at Flair were all very nice. I apologize for not remembering the name of the lovely lady who checked us in, but her recommendations for hotel benefits really saved us some money. The river view room was decent, and watching the lights of Pudong Development Bank from it was worth the price. Although it shows some signs of age, 'The Lion King' (referring to the Ritz) is still a worthy visit among the luxury brands in the city.

Our stay here truly exceeded all expectations, and I must give a huge shout-out to Sharon from the hotel! During our stay, not only was her service thoughtful and attentive, but it also happened to be the Mid-Autumn Festival. She warmly presented me with a box of exquisite and delicious mooncakes and even prepared special toiletries and slippers for the kids. Every detail showed immense sincerity. She was consistently enthusiastic and patient with guests, responding to requests efficiently and meticulously, making communication a real pleasure. The hotel's overall environment, cleanliness, and service standards were all top-notch. You can directly overlook Xintiandi, and the hotel's promotional video even features Ayanga. With such a professional and warm staff member like Sharon, the entire check-in process was incredibly comfortable. Next time I'm in the area, this will definitely be my first choice, and I'll strongly recommend it to all my friends.

I rarely review hotels, but the service at The Portman Ritz-Carlton is truly exceptional – friendly and just right. The hotel facilities are also incredibly well-maintained; the elevators and the bar on the first floor have an aesthetic that harks back to an economically prosperous era. We booked an executive room, and the ladies at the executive lounge were professional and welcoming. They even knew it was our birthday and gave us a new Ritz lion charm when we checked out – so thoughtful! The lounge's food selection isn't vast, but the ingredients are top-notch, and every dish is meticulously prepared. The hot pastries are particularly excellent – crispy and not greasy. I'll definitely be back.

I recently had to stay at Citadines for an extended period due to some personal matters. I was initially worried about potential inconveniences, but it turns out all my concerns were unnecessary. The front desk and concierge service are absolutely top-notch, five stars! I receive many deliveries daily, and the concierge always diligently brings them right to my room door, saving me the hassle of going downstairs to pick them up. I don't have to worry about packages at all. For long-term residents, this attention to detail is incredibly thoughtful and saves a lot of time and effort. The room cleanliness is also excellent. The housekeeping staff does a fantastic job; the room is always spotless and comfortable, which makes for a pleasant stay. The overall service attitude is great, and any requests are handled promptly. As a brand under Ascott, Citadines truly delivers on service quality, making for a worry-free and comfortable stay. I highly recommend it to anyone needing long-term accommodation! 👍

I specifically came here because of the TV show 'Blossoms' and I'm very satisfied. A big thank you to the lovely lady at the front desk who upgraded my room! All the staff I encountered were polite and enthusiastic, I give their service a perfect score 💯. The decor really suits my aesthetic, it's worth savoring every detail. The Peace Hotel truly lives up to its reputation as the face of Shanghai; as a Shanghainese myself, I'm so proud of it! I particularly recommend their guided tours, held daily at 10 AM and 2 PM. The half-hour explanation gives you insight into its century-long history, and there are many beautiful crafts to admire too. The breakfast selection is also very rich, and we were pleasantly surprised to find our favorites like wontons, potstickers, and soup dumplings. Just a small suggestion: it would be even better if low pillows were available. Overall, the experience was fantastic, and I'll definitely recommend it to friends. We'd love to have the chance to stay here again! 😃

The front desk staff were warm and welcoming, smiling as we arrived. Grand Hyatt Shanghai truly lives up to its flagship reputation, showcasing extremely high professional standards. The breakfast spread was extensive, a great blend of Eastern and Western cuisine. Although it's in Pudong Lujiazui, getting around by public transport, subway, and shopping are all quite convenient. We stayed on a high floor, offering a wide view of the city, including the beautiful Oriental Pearl Tower and the Huangpu River. Personally, I wholeheartedly recommend Grand Hyatt Shanghai, with its rich history and soaring height, as the top choice for anyone visiting Shanghai.

Outstanding four-night stay – impeccable service and perfect Jing’an location I recently stayed four nights at the Jing An Shangri-La, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The staff were consistently warm, professional, and attentive—nothing was too much trouble. The gym is very well equipped, and the swimming pool is lovely and relaxing, perfect after a busy day in Shanghai. The location in Jing’an is ideal, within easy walking distance to several major malls, restaurants, and transport links. What really stood out was the service after I checked out: I accidentally left an item behind, and the team quickly arranged to send it back to Hong Kong for me. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return

The service was good, and the environment was pleasant. My room had a river view. However, there were people smoking in the rooms or hallways, and when I opened my door, I could smell smoke. I suggest better separation between smoking and non-smoking areas. Also, breakfast wasn't great; there were very few choices, and some of the fried items were overcooked. I waited a long time for a wrap, only for it to be quite unappetizing. I noticed a staff member serving youtiao (fried dough sticks) – one hand had a glove, the other didn't, and they used their bare hand to break the youtiao to put into a wrap. At the noodle station, the noodles were placed so far back and so high up that it was really inconvenient for guests to get them. The staff standing nearby didn't offer any help. I recommend placing food items in more accessible locations. Overall, the dining options and management definitely need improvement.

The hotel boasts an excellent location, and its blend of a magnificent historic building with East-meets-West interior design imbues every detail with profound depth and elegant charm. The guest rooms are spacious and comfortable, offering superb views of both sides of the Huangpu River. All the staff I encountered were well-trained, friendly, and provided efficient and attentive service. The breakfast buffet, featuring both Western and Chinese options, was abundant and authentic in taste. The Long Bar on the ground floor of the old building is highly recommended; it has been meticulously restored to its original appearance from a century ago, exuding a vintage yet exquisite ambiance. On Friday nights, live jazz musicians enhance the already fantastic atmosphere.
