Harbin Central Avenue/Saint Sophia Cathedral/The Memorial Tower of Fig Harbin|2.42km from city center
This palace hotel exudes a Russian aristocratic style. Housed in a century-old building constructed in 1903, the lobby is adorned with gold leaf, and the chandeliers, oil paintings, and other decor are rich in artistic flair and historical significance. The elevators (pictured in figures 5-6) are among China's oldest, and two of these century-old elevators are still operational today (the other is at the Waldorf Astoria on the Bund in Shanghai). The hotel is conveniently located on Central Street, close to the morning market, St. Sophia Church, and other attractions, making getting around very easy. We received a complimentary room upgrade, along with afternoon tea and a palace-style costume photoshoot (reservations for shoots are available daily from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM), including four professionally retouched photos. The value for money is outstanding.

Harbin Central Avenue/Saint Sophia Cathedral/The Memorial Tower of Fig Harbin|3.67km from city center
The hotel boasts an excellent location, conveniently close to all major attractions, and taxis are readily available. A convenience store is just a short walk to the left after exiting the lobby, and there's an open seating area outside the lobby, perfect for drinks and conversation. Cleanliness was not an issue. While the facilities are a bit older, they are well-maintained. However, the outdated and inconvenient design of having to shower while standing in the bathtub is a definite minus, docking them half a point. The river view from our room was lovely, offering unique charms both day and night. Unfortunately, reflections on the glass at night made it impossible to capture with a phone camera. We stayed for three days and two nights. My wife and child arrived at the hotel at 8:30 AM on the first day but were unable to check in early. In comparable situations, other hotels of the same or higher star rating often provide early check-in service, which would merit full marks. Logically, not offering this means they can't receive the same score, so I'm docking half a point for service. Furthermore, citing 'fully booked' as an excuse for denying early check-in is unacceptable and leads to a two-point deduction from the service score. It's standard industry practice to continuously monitor room availability at a destination for days in advance.

On a business trip to Harbin, I had a great stay at this hotel. First off, the lobby was quite grand, with a strong Christmas vibe. Many guests were taking photos, and the scenery was lovely [thumbs up]. The room's hygiene was excellent, and all amenities were provided. Upon check-in, I was informed that the hotel offers both Chinese and Western dining options, so you can choose according to your taste. This trip, I definitely had to try the 'Guo Bao Rou' (sweet and sour pork) and 'Modern Ice Cream' [smiley face]. I saw a sign indicating a gym on the fifth floor, so the hotel's facilities are quite comprehensive; it caters to dining, entertainment, and fitness needs [thumbs up]. The hotel's location is fantastic; it's incredibly convenient to get anywhere. You can choose between the subway or bus, and there are parking lots both in front of and behind the hotel, making travel really easy [smiling face]. Whether for business or leisure, staying here offers great value for money [thumbs up].

I specifically chose this Shangri-La, a bit further from the city center, because parking is convenient. It's also very close to the Tiger Park for a morning visit, and I could even catch some extra sleep after seeing the tigers. The view from the window is nice, you can see the Ferris wheel. The price during the National Day holiday was also excellent; it offered good value for money.

This hotel completely exceeded my expectations for this trip, definitely five stars! From the moment I stepped into the lobby, the guest relations officer was all smiles, and the front desk handled check-in incredibly efficiently. They even thoughtfully prepared a handwritten card and some fruit for my baby, and patiently answered all my questions throughout. The room view was also amazing, overlooking the river. My experience here was okay. I was surprised to find out that they didn't have a central A/C system in the room. The room was a bit chilly, so I was offered a second duvet because there was no remote controller in the room to control the heater. I didn't sleep well the two nights I spent there. However, I think the hotel staff was helpful and the check-in was fast.

The hotel is just a five minute walk from the nearest metro station. The street the hotel is on is a little dilapidated (at least in late April) but has its own charm. My room was comfortable and a good size for a solo traveler. The buffet breakfast was big and the selections changed a but every day. I was there during the Labour holiday do there were many guests, and the staff replenished the different dishes often. I didn't use the laundry room but I took a look... Currently only one washing machine is in service. The finally, all the staff were friendly and helpful.

The room was quiet and spacious, equipped with a humidifier, and the kettle was very clean and convenient. They also offer complimentary American coffee, which is a nice touch. The staff were very professional and friendly, always ready to help with luggage. The hotel's location is super convenient; it's within walking distance to the riverside and the Flood Control Memorial Tower. International Exhibition Center/Provincial Government Harbin|3.51km from city center
The hotel's location is excellent. It's not far from the airport shuttle bus stop, about a 10-minute walk. Wanda Plaza is right next door, offering plenty of shopping and dining options. I recall there being Harbin's only golf course directly opposite the hotel, which has now been converted into an open park, attracting many people for exercise and leisure. My first stay at a Sofitel was when our company held a conference in Harbin, and our branch office booked it as the conference hotel. Due to the conference, I didn't get much of a chance to form a strong impression. This time, 11 years later, I had the opportunity to return. You can definitely see the passage of time reflected in the hotel rooms and facilities. However, thanks to the hotel's excellent routine maintenance, these signs of age actually highlight the enduring quality of the Sofitel brand. As an Accor member, this was my sixth Sofitel experience, having previously stayed at those in Shanghai, Beijing, Shenyang, Chengdu, and Xining. Check-in and check-out were both very fast. This stay, my room was also upgraded for free to a 'Smart Breathing Room,' which was great. Knowing my room didn't include breakfast, the front desk specifically mentioned the hotel's 'add 1 RMB for breakfast' promotion when I checked in. The customer service manager contacted me beforehand to ask about my room preferences and made arrangements in advance. The humidifier in the room was a nice touch; winter nights in Harbin can be quite cold, and running the air conditioning can make it very dry, so a humidifier made it much more comfortable. Due to work, I was in and out quickly and didn't get a chance to experience the hotel's breakfast. I hope to make up for this small regret next time. If I had to mention any downsides, based on my experience: 1. The TV channels – there were no international channels like HBO or Phoenix TV. 2. Perhaps because the equipment is older, there were no USB ports or wireless charging facilities by the bed, unlike newer hotels, to charge mobile devices. Overall, the hotel's location is good, the staff are service-oriented, and its downtown location makes it very convenient for business trips. I would consider staying here again.

The lobby, situated on the 42nd floor as a 'sky lobby,' is spacious, bright, and impressively luxurious. Both the rooms and public areas are meticulously clean and inviting. The rooms themselves are generously sized and well-lit, with every detail reflecting the hotel's unique cultural charm. Staying here offers a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the Ewenki ethnic culture. Breakfast is served until 1 PM, which is incredibly convenient, and there's also complimentary late-night supper, both of which are delicious. The hotel staff are all very warm and friendly, and each one acts as an ambassador for Ewenki culture, enthusiastically answering any questions you might have.
